The Fighting Dojo

The gang were on their way to the Fighting Dojo

"A long time ago the Fighting Dojo & the Saffron Gym once competed against each other to determine which one would be the Indigo League's sixth Pokémon Gym, but due to the type advantage that Saffron Gym's Psychic Type Pokémon had over the Fighting Dojo's Fighting Type Pokémon, Saffron Gym easily won & became the official gym. Although no badge can be won in the Dojo, the unofficial gym remains opened & continues to accept challenges." Brock explained

Suddenly a simian-like Pokemon with cream colored fur & a pig nose came up to the gang

"Who's that Pokémon?" Ash said as he pulled out his Rotom Phone

Mankey, the Pig Monkey Pokémon, A Fighting Type, Mankey's rage is so exhausting that it falls asleep, then wakes itself up by rampaging through its dreams—& waking up makes it mad. Being lonely makes it angry, but it's rage drives everyone away.

Mankey snatched Ash's hat put it on it's head & climbed up to the roof of a house

"Hey, give me back my hat!" Ash called out

"Mankey." A voice called out

The voice belonged to a young woman with red hair styled in twin tails, light purple eyes, a pink sleeveless shirt with a light purple skirt that went down to her knees. Mankey went into the young woman's arms.

"Mankey, what did I tell you about nabbing other people's hats?" The young woman said.

"Mankey" Mankey said apologetically

"You're a handful, you know that?" The young woman said as she turned to the gang "I'm very sorry about that."

"It's ok." Ash said

"Here's your hat back." The young woman said as she gave Ash's hat back "Are you lost?"

"Well, we're heading to the Fighting Dojo" Ash said

"Oh, I can take you there." The young woman said "As a matter of fact, I'm the master's apprentice. My name is Terri."

"I'm Ash, I'm from Pallet Town & these are my partners Pikachu & Meowth." Ash introduced

"Pika" Pikachu greeted

"Hi" Meowth greeted

"I'm Serena, & this is my partner Eevee" Serena introduced

"Eevee" Eevee greeted

"& I'm Brock" Brock introduced

"Nice to meet you" Terri smiled "Master Hamm will be delighted to have a new challenger"

Terri took the gang to the Fighting Dojo. When they entered the Dojo, they saw people & their Pokémon working on punches & kicks.

"Mankey." Mankey said coming up to an old man with gray hair, a gray mustache, & a karate outfit.

"Hello Mankey, have you been getting into trouble again?" The old man asked

"Mankey" Mankey nodded

"Oh, you naughty little rascal" the old man chuckled petting Mankey's head

"Master Hamm, we have a challenger." Terri said

"Hm? & who is our challenger?" Master Hamm asked

"It's me sir." Ash said

"What's your name, young one" Master Hamm asked

"My name's Ash Ketchum, I'm from Pallet Town." Ash introduced

"Nice to meet you, I'm Master Hamm" Master Hamm introduced

"Excuse me, sir, but is Mankey one of your Pokémon?" Ash asked

"Oh no, Mankey is a wild Pokémon I found injured in the forest." Master Hamm explained "Mankey has a real fighting spirit, & for some reason it likes hats, so it goes around snatching other peoples' hats & wearing them. I assume you have any badges"

"Yes sir." Ash said as he showed his badges

"Huh? Is that a Marsh Badge?" Master Hamm said as he spotted a Marsh badge

"Yes sir" Ash said

"So someone finally managed to defeat Sabrina, you must be quite an impressive trainer. Very well, I accept your challenge, but first you have to defeat 5 of my best students. Are you up for the challenge?" Master Hamm asked

"Yes sir" Ash said with determination

Ash defeated Master Hamm's students using Pikachu, Meowth, Pidgeotto, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, & Clefairy. While he was battling them, Mankey stared in admiration. After Ash defeated them he used his Rotom Phone to switch out two of his Pokémon.

"Well done, young one. I'm impressed with how you battled my students. You have trained well. This will be a two on two battle, are you ready to face me?" Master Hamm asked

"I'm ready" Ash said with determination

"Go Hitmonlee" Master Hamm said as he sent out a humanoid-like Pokémon with an ovoid body, & coiled spring-like legs.

"Hitmonlee" the Pokémon said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Hitmonlee, the Kicking Pokémon, A Fighting Type, Hitmonlee can extend its legs like springs to deliver kicks with tremendous force. It's always careful to stretch & loosen up after battle.

"Nidoran, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Female Nidoran

"Nido!" Nidoran Female said

"Using a Poison Type Pokémon like Nidoran is a good choice since Fighting Type moves aren't very effective against Poison Type Pokémon" Brock pointed out

"Battle begin!" Terri said

ASH VS MASTER HAMM

"Nidoran, use Aerial Ace" Ash said. Nidoran Female became surrounded by light blue streaks & tackled Hitmonlee with great speed

"Use Revenge" Master Hamm said. Hitmonlee became surrounded in orange aura & unleashed a burst of orange energy & hit Nidoran which caused her to stumble back.

"Hitmonlee, use Meditate"

Hitmonlee meditated while being surrounded by white aura

"Use Poison Sting" Ash said. Nidoran fired purple darts from her mouth

"Dodge it" Master Hamm said as Hitmonlee dodged the attack "Now, use Mega Kick"

Hitmonlee's foot became surrounded by red energy & kicked Nidoran

"Use High Jump Kick"

Hitmonlee's leg glowed white & charged at Nidoran

"Use Counter" Ash said. Nidoran glows orange & tackled Hitmonlee which caused him to stumble back

"Nido!" Nidoran said as she glowed bluish white & evolved into a bigger form of herself

"Rina!" She said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Nidorina, the Poison Pin Pokémon, A Poison Type, & the evolved form of a Female Nidoran, Nidorina are very social & become nervous on their own. When among friends, their poisonous barb retract so they don't hurt anyone

Hidden Ability: Hustle

Learned Moves: Flatter, Crunch, Captivate, & Poison Fang

"Awesome, Nidorina use Flatter" Ash said. Nidorina waved her hands & created red waves which caused Hitmonlee to get confused.

"Calm down, Hitmonlee. Use High Jump Kick." Master Hamm said. Hitmonlee's jump & used High Jump Kick in the wrong direction

"Lee!" Hitmonlee winced & held his knee in pain

"Now, finish this with Poison Fang" Ash said. Nidorina teeth glowed purple, created reate purple teeth-like aura & bites down Hitmonlee which caused him to faint

"Hitmonlee is unable to battle, Nidorina wins." Terri declared

"You were amazing, Nidorina" Ash praised as he pet her head

"Rina!" Nidorina said happily as she hugged him to the ground

"Hitmonlee" Hitmonlee said apologetically

"Rest assured, Hitmonlee." Master Hamm said as he placed his hand on Hitmonlee's shoulder "Go Hitmonchan"

Master Hamm sent out a humanoid-like Pokémon with red boxing gloves & light purple boxing shoes

"Hitmonchan" Hitmonchan said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Hitmonchan, The Punching Pokémon, A Fighting Type, Hitmonchan has the fighting spirit of a world-class boxer. It's extremely driven & never gives up.

"Nidorina return." Ash said as he returned Nidorina. "Nidoran, I choose you!"

Ash sent out his Male Nidoran

"Nido!" Nidoran said

"Nidoran, use Leer" Ash said. Nidoran's eyes glowed red which lowered Hitmonchan's defenses

"Hitmonchan, use Focus Energy" Master Hamm said

"Hitmon!" Hitmonchan yelled as he glowed orange

"Nidoran, use Peck" Ash said. Nidoran's horn glowed white & hit Hitmonchan.

"Use Counter" Master Hamm said. Hitmonchan glowed orange & punched Nidoran

"Now, use Focus Punch"

Hitmonchan's fist glowed orange & charged at Nidoran

"Use Confusion" Ash said. Nidoran's eyes glowed violet, telekinetically stopped Hitmonchan in his tracks, raised him into the air & slammed him on the ground

"Now, use Thunderbolt"

Nidoran released a bolt of yellow electricity at Hitmonchan

"Use Thunder Punch" Master Hamm said. Hitmonchan's fist became surrounded by yellow electricity & absorbed the Thunderbolt with it, making it bigger & punched Nidoran

"Nidoran, are you alright?" Ash asked in concern as Nidoran slowly got up

"Nido!" Nidoran yelled as he glowed bluish white & evolved into a bigger form of himself

"Rino!" He said

"Awesome, two evolutions in one battle" Ash said with excitement as he pulled out his Rotom Phone

Nidorino, the Poison Pin Pokémon, A Poison Type, & the evolved form of a Male Nidoran, The horn on Nidorino's forehead is made of an extremely hard substance. When challenged, its body bristles with poisonous barbs.

Ability: Poison Point

Hidden Ability: Hustle

Learned Moves: Flatter, Poison Jab, Captivate, & Horn Drill

"Alright Nidorino, let's wrap this up with Horn Drill" Ash said. Nidorino became surrounded by light blue spiraling streaks & hit Hitmonchan with his horn causing Hitmonchan to faint.

"Hitmonchan is unable to battle, Nidorino wins. So the victory goes to Ash" Terri declared

"You were awesome, Nidorino" Ash praised as he picked up Nidorino

Nidorino licked Ash's cheek in affection which caused Ash to laugh.

"Are you alright, Hitmonchan?" Master Hamm said as he & Hitmonlee helped Hitmonchan on his feet

"Hitmonchan" Hitmonchan said apologetically

"It's alright, I'm proud of both of you." Master Hamm said as Mankey hopping up to Ash

"Mankey! Mankey! Mankey!" Mankey said in excitement while hopping up & down

"What is it, Mankey?" Ash asked

"Mankey" Mankey said going in battle stance

"I think it wants to battle you, Ash." Brock said

"Well, Master Hamm did say you have a fighting spirit." Ash said to Mankey

Ash deposited his Squirtle & Nidorina to the PC & Ash & Mankey went into battle position.

"Clefairy, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Clefairy

"Fairy" Clefairy said

"Use Disarming Voice" Ash said

"Clefairy!" Clefairy yelled as she released releases a beam of Purple Hearts from her mouth & hit Mankey

Mankey fingers glowed white & scratched Clefairy

"Use Metronome" Ash said. Clefairy's fingers glowed white & started waving them, then the Metronome turned into Psybeam & hit Mankey

"Now, use Thunderbolt."

Clefairy fired a bolt of yellow electricity at Mankey, but it dodged with it hand glowing white & karate chopped her

"Use Sweet Kiss"

Clefairy blew a kiss releasing a pink kiss mark which hit & confused Mankey

"Now, use Bounce"

Clefairy jumped high into the air & kicked Mankey. Then Ash pulled out blue Poké Ball with 2 red stripes on top

"What's that" Meowth asked

"That's a Great Ball, a Poké Ball that provides a higher success rate for catching Pokémon than a Standard Poké Ball." Brock explained

"Go Great Ball" Ash said as he threw the Great Ball at Mankey & captured Mankey

"Alright, I caught a Mankey" Ash said happily

Known Moves: Covet, Focus Energy, Leer, Low Kick, Scratch, Fury Swipes, Karate Chop, Pursuit, Thrash, & Night Slash

"Come on out, Mankey" Ash said as he sent out Mankey

"Mankey" Mankey said

"Mankey, I would like to give you this" Ash said as he pulled out a hat from his bag. The hat looked similar to the one he was wearing now, but the green mark was different (the same hat from the original Pokémon anime)

"Hey, that's the Pokémon League Expo Hat" Brock said

"It is, I wore it for a few years after I won it. The one I'm wearing now was made by my mom, she wanted to design a copy of it, but she got the green symbol wrong, but I like it much better than the Expo Hat." Ash explained as he turned to Mankey "Since you like hats so much, I figured you'd need this more than I need it"

Mankey stared at Ash with tear-filled eyes & hugged him. Ash put the Expo hat on Mankey's head.

"Wow Mankey, you look sharp" Serena compliment

"Mankey" Mankey smiled while blushing

Master Hamm was touched by the scene & walked up to Ash

"Ash, you gave me an astounding battle. You really are an impressive trainer" Master Hamm complimented

"Thanks Master Hamm" Ash said

"Tell me, what did you think of my Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan?" Master Hamm asked

"I think they're both awesome Pokémon" Ash said

"I'm glad you think so, that's why I'm giving them to you." Master Hamm said

"What?" Ash said in surprise

"You see, I'm gonna retire from running this Dojo & travel the world someday, So I need a trainer to watch over them when I'm gone. & I believe you're just the right person to take care of Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan. So will you please take them?" Master Hamm offered

"I will" Ash accepted

"Thank you" Master Hamm said

Master Hamm said his goodbyes Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan, returned them to their Great Balls & gave them to Ash

Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan have been registered to your Pokédex

"Here, have these" Master Hamm said as he gave Ash three TMs & a black karate belt "It's a TM48, TM41.1, & TM33.1,They contain the moves Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, & the other one is a Black Belt, it's an item that powers up Fighting Type Moves when a Pokémon holds it."

"Thanks" Ash said

There you have it, Ash's Mankey is the same one he caught in the anime, I got the idea from Ash catching Mankey at the Fighting Dojo idea from jurassicdinodrew & I give credit to him, thank you Jurassicdinodrew for the idea. I decided to have Master Hamm & Terri from the Pokémon Battle Frontier series be a part of this chapter. Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan from the Fighting Dojo is based on the the Pokémon games Red, Blue, Yellow, LeafGreen, FireRed, Let's go Pikachu, & Let's go Eevee. Stay tuned for another chapter, Morpho Out!
