Mewtwo Strikes Back

Life-the great miracle & mystery. Since the beginning, humans & Pokémon have searched for its meaning. Many strange & wondrous legends evolved from the pursuit of life's mysteries. But none is stranger than this tale of the most powerful Pokémon.

In a place called Guyana, A man named Dr. Fuji was walking through the jungle with his fellow researchers.

"Mew, the Mythical Pokémon also known as the New Species Pokémon." The first researcher said "They say it's extinct, but many have reported its recent new sightings."

"But the reports haven't been confirmed." Dr. Fuji corrected

Dr. Fuji & the researchers entered a ruin with a carving of Mew

"Wow." The second researcher said in amazement

"Having phenomenal powers can cause massive flooding or bloom plant life in the wild, bestowing some of these powers on mankind." Dr. Fuji said "One thing for sure, it wields great power."

Then suddenly they saw a shadow on the carving, they quickly turned around, but saw nothing. Later they found a fossil from the body of Mew.

"Let's get back to the lab." Dr. Fuji suggested "if this is the fossil of Mew, we may be able to recreate the most powerful Pokémon of all."

Unbeknownst to them, a pink kitten-like Pokémon with a long tail was watching them. Back at the lab on an island called New Island, they had begun the creation of the clone of Mew.

"It hasn't gained consciousness like the other clones." The first researcher said

"Hm, it's other vital signs are strong." Dr. Fuji said

Deep within the mindscape of the Mew clone, it was listening to them

"Others are near me, what are those sounds they're making" The Mew clone said

"Those are words, they're talking." A voice said

"Huh?" The Mew clone looked & saw a little girl with blue-green hair wearing a white long sleeved dress with a long skirt. "Who are you?"

"What're you talking about? I'm a person." The girl said

"Person? Am I a person?" The Mew clone asked

"Well, you look like a Pokémon. I'd never seen a talking Pokémon before." The little girl said

"Pokémon? Person? What are those? Which one am I?" The Mew clone asked

"Maybe it makes a difference to you if you're a Pokémon or a person, but not to me. If you're here, I guess we are the same." The girl said as a Charmander with dark red stripes, a Squirtle with dark blue stripes, & a Bulbasaur with dark green stripes appeared.

Back in reality

"Dr. Fuji, come look at this." The second researcher said

"What is it?" Dr. Fuji said before looking at the screen. "What's going on?"

"Not sure, but it looks like Mewtwo & Ambertwo are communicating with the clones." The second researcher said. "They could be using telepathy."

"Interesting." Dr. Fuji said as he stared at the red & yellow light

Back in Mewtwo's mindscape

"Everyone here's a clone." Ambertwo said "that's why there's a "two" at the end of our names."

"What do you mean?" Mewtwo asked

"I'm called Ambertwo, but I'm still Amber." Ambertwo said

"Squirtle." Squirtletwo said

"Char" Chamandertwo said

"Bulba." Bulbasaurtwo said

Back in reality, Dr. Fuji was thinking about the talk he had with his wife

"Honey, you can't keep doing this." Mrs. Fuji said

"Why not?" Dr. Fuji asked "If my theory is correct, we'll have our back."

"I loved our daughter as much as you did, even if you did bring her back, it wouldn't be the same." Mrs. Fuji said

Dr. Fuji stared in shock

"Please think about it, I know you're trying to do this for me & for you. You have to let her go & move on." Mrs. Fuji pleaded

Flashback End

"What if she's right." Dr. Fuji thought "What if it wouldn't be the same."

Back in Mewtwo's mindscape, Ambertwo, Mewtwo, Bulbasaurtwo, Charmandertwo, & Squirtletwo were at a neighborhood

"This is my remember place, it's where I used to live." Ambertwo said

"What is that" Mewtwo asked as he was looking at a light in the sky

"That's the sun." Ambertwo said

"What's it for" Mewtwo asked

"It makes the whole world bright & it keeps us warm all day." Ambertwo said

Then Mewtwo felt a slight breeze

"That's called wind." Ambertwo said "it helps us along, sometimes it's very strong."

Then the sun started setting

"That's the sunset, that's when it goes down & day turns into night." Ambertwo said

"What about that one?" Mewtwo said pointing at a big round glowing thing in the sky

"That's the moon & the little lights are stars." Ambertwo said "They twinkle all night to make sure we're not alone."

"Char" Charmandertwo said weakly as he faded

Back in Reality

"Dr. Fuji, we're losing readings from Charmandertwo" the second researcher said

"Oh no." Dr. Fuji whispered

Back in Mewtwo's mindscape, Bulbasaurtwo & Squirtletwo began fading too

"We're losing Bulbasaurtwo & Squirtletwo as well." The second researcher said

Back in Mewtwo's mindscape

"Bulbasaurtwo? Charmandertwo? Squirtletwo?" Mewtwo said as he looked around "where'd they go?"

Then Ambertwo started fading as well

"Amber, What's wrong?" Mewtwo asked

"It's for me to say goodbye." Ambertwo said

"What?" Mewtwo said

Then everything went dark & Mewtwo's eyes began to water

"What are...these." Mewtwo said as he felt the water from his eyes

"They're tears, you're crying." Ambertwo said "When people & Pokémon are sad & they cry, their tears are filled with life."

"...Amber, why do you have to go?" Mewtwo asked

"I don't know." Ambertwo said "Mewtwo, thank you for caring about me & please don't be sad. You should be happy that you're alive & life is wonderful."

"Amber!" Mewtwo cried as Ambertwo faded

Then a light appeared in front of Mewtwo & it shined brighter & brighter each second.

Back in reality, Mewtwo slowly opened his eyes.

"Who am I? Where am I?" Mewtwo said

"Dr. Fuji, we lost Amber." The second researcher said reluctantly

"It's alright, it's time for us to move on." Dr. Fuji said

"Dr. Fuji, Mewtwo has opened his eyes." The third researcher said

Dr. Fuji went to the glass container & looked closely at Mewtwo

"Who is that?" Mewtwo said

"Could this be? Have we succeeded?" Dr. Fuji said softly before noticing Mewtwo's eyes glowing blue "Everyone, get back!"

As Dr. Fuji & the researchers backed up, Mewtwo used his psychic power to break free of the glass container.

"It has finally awakened, Mewtwo." Dr. Fuji said in awe

"Who are you?" Mewtwo asked

"Oh, forgive me, but my name is Dr. Fuji, my researchers & I have given you life using the rarest of Pokémon as a basis." Dr. Fuji said

"But why am I here? Out of what was I created?" Mewtwo asked

"In this world, only two things can create life, nature & human science." Dr. Fuji said

"You made me? Does that make you my father, Dr. Fuji?" Mewtwo asked

"No, but I can be if that's what you wish." Dr. Fuji said

"Why did you create me? & how was I created?" Mewtwo said

Dr. Fuji picked up the little Pokémon in his arms & showed him the carving of Mew.

"This is Mew, the world's rarest Pokémon. Your existence is based on it, but you were created to be even stronger. Our goal was to create the world's most powerful Pokémon & we succeed." Dr. Fuji said

"If that's so, then what is my purpose?" Mewtwo asked

"You'll find out sooner or later." Dr. Fuji said as he turned to his researchers "Everyone, go home for the day, we'll continue our work tomorrow."

"Yes sir." The researchers said as they left

"Now let's get you home, my wife is simply going to love you." Dr. Fuji smiled

When they arrived at Dr. Fuji's house.

"Dear, I'm home." Dr. Fuji called out as he put Mewtwo down

"I'm in the kitchen." Mrs. Fuji said as

Dr. Fuji went to the kitchen where his wife was cooking dinner.

"Darling?" Dr. Fuji said

"Yes?" Mrs. Fuji responded

"I'm sorry, I failed in bringing Amber back." Dr. Fuji apologized "I thought about what you said & you're right, it's about time I move on."

"Oh, I'm so glad you've come to your senses." Mrs. Fuji said in relief

"But there is one thing that my researchers & I have succeeded." Dr. Fuji said

"Oh? & what's that?" Mrs. Fuji asked curiously

Dr. Fuji led his wife to the living room where she saw Mewtwo. Mrs. Fuji gasped in surprise.

"This is Mewtwo, the Pokémon we've created from the DNA of Mew & he's all ours." Dr. Fuji said

"Oh my gosh." Mrs. Fuji said tearfully

"What's wrong? Why are you sad?" Mewtwo asked

"She's not sad, Mewtwo." Dr. Fuji said "She's happy."

"Then why is she crying?" Mewtwo asked

"Those are tears of joy, people cry when they're happy & they cry when they're sad." Dr. Fuji said

"Oh my gosh, honey." Mrs. Fuji said as she picked up & hugged the little Pokémon "He's so beautiful, is he really ours?"

"Yes, welcome to our family, Mewtwo." Dr. Fuji said as he pet Mewtwo's head

"I somehow feel really happy. What is this feeling?" Mewtwo asked

"That's love, Mewtwo." Dr. Fuji said "You are feeling loved."

"& we love you, our precious little Mewtwo." Mrs. Fuji said a she kissed Mewtwo's cheek

The next day at the lab

"Father, what am I going to learn today?" Mewtwo asked as he was sitting on a chair

"I'm glad you asked. You see, everyone has a dream that fills their heart, a journey they must take, a destiny to fulfill. As close as your imagination exists a magical place where wondrous creatures with incredible powers help make dreams. This is the world of Pokémon." Dr. Fuji said as he turned on a projector that showed Mewtwo a film of different Pokémon

"Wow" Mewtwo said in amazement

"People can capture Pokémon to be more than just pets, Human trainers & their Pokémon compete against others in amazing contests of skill & strategy. The best Trainers one day become Pokémon Masters, that's a dream that burns brightly for many." Dr. Fuji said "Pokémon come in different shapes & sizes, & there are many types as well. There are 18 types of Pokémon; there's Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Psychic, Bug, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Rock, Ground, Steel, Ghost, Dark, Ice, Dragon, & Fairy. Pokémon can either have one type or two"

"What type do I have?" Mewtwo asked

"Well, no doubt, you are a Psychic Type. But every Pokémon has its strengths & weaknesses. You will learn how to control your powers & become stronger " Dr. Fuji said

Dr. Fuji & the other researchers successfully taught Mewtwo how to use his powers & trained him to become strong. As months went by, Mewtwo had grown up, matured, & gotten stronger & stronger. Then one day, Mewtwo was thinking while he was sitting in a chair alone in the lab.

"I don't understand, I completed my training & learned how to use my powers without fail. Yet, I still don't know what my purpose is." Mewtwo said

"Mewtwo, Dr. Fuji wants to see you outside immediately." One of the researchers said

"Alright, I'm on my way." Mewtwo said

Mewtwo went outside where he saw Dr. Fuji, Mrs. Fuji, & the other researcher. Mewtwo noticed that they all had serious expressions on their faces, but Mrs. Fuji had a sad expression on her face.

"Father, Mother, what's going on?" Mewtwo asked

"Mewtwo, I think you should leave." Dr. Fuji said

"What? But why?" Mewtwo said confusingly

"No time to explain, You're grown now, you should go out & start taking care of yourself." Dr. Fuji said sternly

"I will come back to you." Mewtwo said

"No, that's not necessary! Just leave & never come back!" Dr. Fuji yelled

"...Alright...goodbye Mother, Father, everyone." Mewtwo said as he flew away

"Goodbye, Mewtwo...my son." Dr. Fuji whispered as he shed tears

At a cave called Cerulean Cave, Mewtwo was inside wondering

"Am I really the world's most powerful Pokémon? Mew...am I really stronger than you?" Mewtwo said

Then Mewtwo sensed someone coming, he looked & saw Phantom

"So, you're the Pokémon Dr. Fuji created?" Phantom said

"Who are you?" Mewtwo asked

"My name is Phantom, I'm the leader of Team Rocket." Phantom said "it's true that you are the most powerful Pokémon in the world. But the world has another powerful life-form."

"You mean Humans?" Mewtwo asked

"Yes, if you were to join forces with us, the world would be ours." Phantom said "However, if you were to let your powers loose, the world's destruction would be the only outcome. We need to make sure they're under full control."

"What must I do?" Mewtwo said

At Team Rocket HQ, Mewtwo was placed into an armor(the same one from Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution)

"This armor not only protects me, but it holds back my power." Mewtwo said "After all this, what do you expect of me?"

"You only need to do what everyone does in this world, simple as that." Phantom said

"& what is that?" Mewtwo asked

"Destruction, war, & conquest." Phantom said "the strong will stand victorious"

After days of working with Team Rocket, Mewtwo was still wondering what his purpose was.

"Who am I? Where am I? For what reason do I fight? For what reason do I live? What is my purpose?" Mewtwo said as Phantom entered the room

"You're a Pokémon & they are used for human purposes & live for their sake." Phantom said

"Are you telling me to fight for you? For humans?" Mewtwo questioned

"What other value could you have?" Phantom said

"But we stood as equal, I thought we were partners." Mewtwo said in outrage

"You were created by humans to obey humans, & your purpose is to serve me." Phantom said

"NO! This can't be my destiny! I will not allow myself to be enslaved by humans!" Mewtwo snapped in anger as he used his powers to break free of the wires

"You dare defy me!?" Phantom said as he pressed a button on a remote

The armor tried to restrain Mewtwo, but he broke free. Then Mewtwo caused an explosion & fled

"I have to go back to Father, maybe he'll know where I can hide." Mewtwo said hopefully

Mewtwo got to Dr. Fuji's house & entered

"Mother? Father? It's me Mewtwo." Mewtwo called out, but all he heard was silence "Strange, where could they be?"

Mewtwo went into their room & looked, then he saw a picture of them with a familiar face

"Amber..." Mewtwo said staring at the picture

Mewtwo looked all over the house

"Where could they be?" Mewtwo said before realizing "the lab."

Mewtwo went back to New Island, & all he saw was burned debris.

"No." Mewtwo said in shock "Father!? Where are you!? Father!"

Mewtwo looked around, but there was no trace of Dr. Fuji, Mrs. Fuji, or the other researchers.

"They're...gone. They're all gone." Mewtwo said in aghast

Mewtwo cried as he began to be consumed by anger & hatred

"This has to be Team Rocket's doing. They took away my family." Mewtwo said "Who am I? Who wanted & who asked for me to be created? What is my purpose? I despise everything connected with my creation. You're the ones who created me & If this is how things are going to be, then I will strike back...against you!"

Ash, Serena, & Brock were at a valley preparing lunch until a man with tan skin, dark brown braided hair, wearing a long yellow vest, blue jeans, white & red gloves, & a red bandanna with a white skull & & cross swords approached them.

"Hey kid, are you Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town?" The man asked

"Yes, that's me." Ash replied

"The name's Raymond & I challenge you to a Pokémon battle." Raymond said

"Alright, challenge accepted." Ash said with determination

Ash & Raymond went into battle position. Raymond sent out a short gray elephant-like Pokémon called Donphan & Ash sent Meowth to battle. Meowth used Fake Out & hit Donphan which caused it to flinch, then Meowth used Pay Day & hit Donphan. Donphan charged at Meowth using Rollout, but Meowth used Bide & got hit a few times. Donphan hit Meowth with Take Down & sent him flying, then Meowth fired Bide & hit Donphan which caused it to faint. Raymond returned Donphan & sent out Machamp, then Ash sent out Jigglypuff. Machamp & Jigglypuff clashed with each other with Karate Chop & Pound, then Jigglypuff used Sing which caused Machamp to fall asleep. Finally Jigglypuff used Disarming Voice & hit Machamp which caused it to faint. Raymond got so frustrated, that he sent out his last three Pokémon; a Venomoth, a Drowzee, & a Pinsir, but Pikachu defeated them using a single Thunderbolt.

"Alright, we did it!" Ash cheered

"Pikachu!" Pikachu cheered

"Jigglypuff!" Jigglypuff cheered

"& that's the way it's done." Meowth said simply

Unbeknownst to them, a Fearow with a spy cam around its neck was flying high above them. Technically Mewtwo had been watching Ash's battle with Raymond, Mewtwo had rebuilt the lab & he had built a castle along with it.

"Any information on this boy?" Mewtwo asked

"That boy is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, he's the brother of the Kanto Champion Red Ketchum, he's also the son of the Viridian Gym Leader Giovanni." The woman dressed in a frilled long-sleeved dress with a hat said

"What about the other two?" Mewtwo asked

"The one with brown hair & tan skin is Brock Slate, the Pewter City Gym Leader." The woman said

"& the girl?" Mewtwo asked

"Her name is Serena Yvonne, she's from Vaniville Town in the Kalos Region." The woman said

"Kalos, huh? How interesting." Mewtwo said intriguingly "Sent them an invitation at once."

"Yes, master." The woman said

Back with the gang, they were eating lunch with their Pokémon.

"Rargh." Charizard said as he sensed something

"What is it, Charizard?" Ash asked

"Pika Pika." Pikachu pointed

The gang looked & saw a Dragonite with a satchel in the sky. The Dragonite landed in front of the gang, pulled out a letter from the satchel, & gave it to Ash

"What's this?" Ash said as he opened the letter & pulled out a rectangular device which showed a hologram of the woman.

"Greetings, Pokémon Trainers, you are invited to the CoroCoro Cup tournament, hosted by my master, the world's greatest Pokémon Trainer at his castle on New Island & the winner of the tournament will receive a challenge from him. A ferry will depart from Old Shore Wharf, taking you to the island, this afternoon. Only Trainers who present this invitation will be admitted. You must reply immediately, if you want to intend. My master awaits you" the hologram said as it vanished

"The world's greatest Pokémon Trainer?" Brock said confusingly

"What do you think, Ash? Should we go?" Serena asked

"You bet we are." Ash said

"I wonder who this world's greatest Pokémon Trainer is." Serena wondered

"It's probably Red or Blue." Brock said

Ash selected yes on the invite box, gave it back to Dragonite, & Dragonite flew back to Mewtwo. Back at New Island, Mewtwo waved his hand in the air, creating a powerful thunderstorm & whipping up the seas. Meanwhile the pink-kitten like Pokémon also known as Mew, was in a bubble in a river

"Mew?" Mew said as it felt a disturbance.

Mew got out of the lake, out of the bubble, & flew to New Island. Meanwhile the gang arrived at the Old Shore Wharf

"Man, that storm came out of nowhere." Brock said

"Well, look who it is?" A voice said

The gang looked & saw Jessie & James

"Jessie, James, what are you two doing here?" Ash asked

"James received an invitation to the CoroCoro Cup." Jessie said

"Remember sport, just because you're my godson, doesn't mean I'll go easy on you." James said

"Same here." Ash said

"What? What do you mean the ferry's canceled?" A male trainer named Corey asked

"I've got to get to New Island." A female trainer named Neesha said

"Yeah, me too." A male trainer named Fergus said

"I'm sorry everyone, but the harbor manager believes that this storm is worse than normal." Officer Jenny said

"I'm Miranda, the prophets have predicted the return of the winds of water. I have prayed for years that mankind would never witness that treacherous storm again." The harbor manager named Miranda said

"Is it that bad?" Jessie asked

"Legends say that the storm wiped out all but a few Pokémon. The tears of the Pokémon somehow revived the lives lost in the storms." Miranda said "But no one can survive without the Pokémon tears this time."

"That's why the ferry to New Island has been canceled." Jenny said

"Well ferry or no ferry, I'm going to New Island anyway." Fergus said with determination "Some of my Pokémon are Water Types, & we're just gonna have to swim or fly over to the CoroCoro Cup."

"No, it's very risky & you'll never make it." Miranda warned

"On top of that, your Pokémon will get injured & there would be no way to heal them, because the Pokémon Center's closed." Jenny said

"Why's that?" Ash asked

"A month ago, Nurse Joy of this Pokémon Center disappeared." Jenny replied

Brock looked at the poster of the missing Nurse Joy.

"Wait a minute, could that be?" Brock said softly

Outside in the storm, Corey sent out a big Pidgeotto-like Pokémon called Pidgeot & flew over to New Island. Neesha sent out a Seel-like Pokémon called Dewgong & Fergus sent out his Gyarados & swam over to New Island

"Fearow, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Fearow

"Fear!" Fearow cawed

"Come on guys, let's go!" Ash called out as he & Serena got on Fearow's back

"Go Dragonair!" Jessie said as she sent out her Dragonair

"Nair!" Dragonair said as Jessie & James got on her back

"Go Gengar!" Brock said as he sent out his Gengar

"Gengar." Gengar said as Brock got on his back

"Come back! Or you're under arrest!" Jenny yelled as the gang, Jessie, & James flew to New Island

"Some trainers are courageous." Miranda said. "This is a challenge to them & follow their hearts. If they'd known they'd be stopped, they wouldn't have come here. That's the path that will make them Pokémon Masters. May Arceus be with them"

The gang, Jessie, & James arrived at New Island where the woman was waiting for them

"Welcome to New Island." She said with a blank expression "Please, present your invitation."

Ash & James presented their invitation

"Please, follow me." The woman said

"You kids go ahead, we'll catch up." James said as the gang left with the woman

"Shall we get to work?" Jessie asked

"Yes, let's find out more about this mysterious Pokémon Trainer." James said

As they started to look for another way inside, Jessie felt a presence behind her

"Huh?" Jessie said as she turned & saw nothing

"What's wrong?" James asked

"Nothing, let's get going." Jessie said

Unknown to them, Mew was watching them. While the gang were following the woman to the entrance hall, Brock had a thought.

"Ash, is that who I think it is?" Brock whispered

"It is, it's the missing Nurse Joy from the wharf." Ash whispered

"What is she doing here?" Serena whispered

"I don't know, but I feel a strong psychic energy here." Ash said

They made it to the entrance hall & saw Corey, Neesha, & Fergus

"Miss, there's only 3, shouldn't we wait for the rest of them?" Ash asked

"Only the ones who are capable of getting through the storm have proven themselves worthy." The woman said

"Wait, you mean the storm was like a test or something?" Brock asked

"You might say that. You may send out your Pokémon & join the others, the CoroCoro Cup will begin shortly" The woman said as the doors closed

The gang sent out their Pokémon. Ash had his Pikachu, Meowth, Ivysaur, Wartortle, Charizard, Jigglypuff, & Fearow. Serena had her Eevee, Togepi, Gloom, Nidorino, Jolteon, & Cubone. Brock had his Zubat, Onix, Geodude, Kabutops, Vulpix & Gengar.

"Hey guys, you made it." Corey greeted

"Yeah, you did too." Ash said

"We hope the storm wasn't too much trouble for you guys." Serena said

"Nah, a little storm never hurt Pidgeot here, right Pidgeot?" Corey said as he pet his Pidgeot

"Pidgeo!" Pidgeot cawed in agreement

"Anyway, name's Corey & those are my Pokémon over there" Corey said as he introduced his Venusaur, Scyther, Sandslash, Hitmonlee, & Rhyhorn.

"That storm was no problem getting over since I rode on my Gyarados' back. I'm Fergus & right behind me are my Pokémon" Fergus said as he introduced his Gyarados, Tentacruel, Vaporeon, Golduck, Seadra, & Nidoqueen.

"& my name's Neesha, & those Pokémon over there are mine." Neesha said as she introduced her Blastoise, Wigglytuff, Vileplume, Ninetales, Dewgong, & Rapidash.

"I'm Ash." Ash said

"I'm Serena." Serena said

"& I'm Brock & these are our Pokémon." Brock said a they introduced their Pokémon

"That's strange none of Corey, Fergus, & Neesha's Pokémon are Psychic Types, but where is that psychic energy coming from?" Ash thought

Suddenly the lights went off

"The world's greatest Pokémon Master is about to arrive." The woman said

Just then Mewtwo appeared & he was wearing a brown cloak with the hood off

"Greetings Everyone, the world's greatest Pokémon Master & the world's most powerful Pokémon. I am the ruler of this island & soon-to-be ruler of the entire world. I am Mewtwo" Mewtwo said

"It's using telepathy." Brock said

"It must be where that strong psychic energy is coming from." Ash said

"But a Pokémon can't be a Pokémon Master!" Fergus said in outrage

"Silence!" Mewtwo snapped as his eyes glowed blue, raised his arm, telekinetically lifted Fergus up in the air & threw Fergus in the pool

"Is that how you wanna play? Gyarados, use Hyper Beam." Fergus said

Gyarados fired an orange beam from its mouth, but Mewtwo deflected the move with Counter which hit Gyarados

"Pathetic." Mewtwo said as he turned to the woman "You are of no use to me, anymore"

Mewtwo released the woman from his control & she weakly fainted, but Brock caught her before she could hit the floor. The woman's hat fell off & revealed to be Nurse Joy.

"Nurse Joy." Brock said in concern as she opened her eyes

"What happened?" Joy said

"I brought you here from the Pokémon Center. Your expertise in Pokémon physiology has been of use to me. Clearly, you don't remember anything?" Mewtwo assumed

"What do you mean?" Brock asked

"As a Psychic Type Pokémon, I can easily manipulate the brain of a human being." Mewtwo said

"That's terrible." Serena said

Meanwhile, Jessie & James arrived in Mewtwo's lab & saw a Charizard with dark red stripes, a Blastoise with dark blue stripes, & a Venusaur with dark green stripes sleeping in giant pods

"What is this?" James wondered

Jessie saw a computer control device, turned it on, & a big digital screen showed Dr. Fuji

"Is this thing on? Greetings, I'm Dr. Fuji, my fellow researchers & I discovered a fossil that turned out to be the DNA of the Mythical Pokémon; Mew. We try to create clones that are more powerful than any living Pokémon. We failed in many attempts, but our experiments have finally succeeded. Ladies & Gentlemen, may I proudly present our creation; Mewtwo." Dr. Fuji said as one of his researchers gave him a young, sleeping, Mewtwo

"Mewtwo." Jessie said as he & James stared in awe

"We dreamed of creating the most powerful Pokémon & we succeeded." Dr. Fuji said as the screen went black

"So this Mewtwo is cloned from Mew." James assumed

"Yes, & this must be the lab where Mewtwo was created." Jessie said

Back with Mewtwo & the others

"You humans are a threat. You brought me to life with no purpose but to be your slave. But now, my own purpose is to destroy your world & create my own." Mewtwo said

"So, you despise humans & gonna destroy us to save Pokémon?" Brock asked

"You humans took away everything from me, including my family. Besides, I will not spare your Pokémon, since they have succumbed to be your slaves." Mewtwo said

"Pika Pika." Pikachu said

"What? So you say you're not these humans' slaves." Mewtwo

"Eevee Eevee." Eevee said

"They're your friends, are they? You're just as sad as the rest." Mewtwo as his eyes glowed blue & telekinetically threw Pikachu & Eevee into Ash & Serena's arms.

"Oh, Eevee!" Serena cried worriedly

"Pikachu, are you alright?" Ash asked in concern

"Hey, you can't push around my friends like that!" Meowth said angrily as he charged at Mewtwo

"Meowth, No!" Ash cried

"Shadow Claw!" Meowth yelled as his arms became surrounded by black claw-shaped aura.

"Counter" Mewtwo said as he glowed orange & punched Meowth which sent him flying

"Meowth!" Ash cried as he caught him. "Are you okay?"

"I cannot be weakened by your Pokémon's attacks. I refuse to be conquered by the likes of you fools." Mewtwo said

"Then how about a real match?" Ash glared

"If that's a challenge, then I accept." Mewtwo said as his eyes glowed blue

Back at the lab, the clone Pokémon woke up, came out of their pods, & came to the entrance hall

"Everyone, May I present Venusaurtwo, Charizardtwo, & Blastoisetwo. Pokémon, who I created by using their DNA to become more powerful clones." Mewtwo said

"Well, nothing beats the real thing, right Bruteroot?" Corey said

"Saur!" Bruteroot said

"We'll blast away that Blastoise, won't we Shellshocker?" Neesha said

"Blast!" Shellshocker said

"Alright Charizard, I choose you!" Ash said

"Rargh!" Charizard said

When they went to the stadium

"Now, which one of you will go first?" Mewtwo asked

"I will." Corey said

"In that case, Go Venusaurtwo." Mewtwo said as Venusaurtwo entered the battlefield

"Bruteroot, use Razor Leaf." Corey said. Bruteroot fired multiple green glowing leaves from his leaves.

"Vine Whip." Mewtwo said. Venusaurtwo released two vines from its body & broke the leaves apart.

"Use Energy Ball." Corey said. Bruteroot fired an orb of light green energy from his mouth & hit Venusaurtwo

"Leaf Storm." Mewtwo said as multiple green leaves started spinning around Venusaurtwo, fired them, & hit Bruteroot which caused him to faint.

"Bruteroot!" Corey cried

"Let's go, Shellshocker!" Neesha said

"You're next, Blastoisetwo." Mewtwo said as. Blastoisetwo entered the battlefield

"Shellshocker, use Hydro Pump." Neesha said. Shellshocker fired a powerful stream of water from his cannons

"Rapid Spin." Mewtwo said. Blastoisetwo went into its shell, cut through the Hydro Pump while spinning & hit Shellshocker which caused him to faint

"Shellshocker!" Neesha cried

"No matter how strong those clones are, I'm not giving up." Ash said

"It's your turn, Charizardtwo" Mewtwo said as Charizardtwo enter the battlefield

"Mewtwo, if we're gonna beat you, we're gonna have to use this." Ash said as he touched the Key Stone of his Mega Necklace which shined in a bright white light. "Now Charizard, Mega Evolve!"

Charizard glowed bright red-orange & evolved into Mega Charizard X. Mega Charizard X skin had turned black with a sky-blue underside and soles. Two spikes with blue tips curve upward from the front and back of each shoulder, while the tips of its horns sharpen, turn blue, and curve slightly upward. His brow and claws are larger, and his eyes are now red. He had two small, fin-like spikes under each horn and two more down his lower neck. The third joint of each wing-arm is adorned with a claw-like spike. Mega Charizard X breathes blue flames out the sides of its mouth, and the flame on its tail now burns blue.

Mewtwo chuckled evilly

"Did you honestly think I didn't prepare myself." Mewtwo smirked as he removed his cloak, revealing his own Mega Necklace. The Mega Necklace had a sun for the pendant & a Key Stone in the center. Charizardtwo raised his left hand revealing a glove with a light orange mega stone with a red, yellow, & orange S-shaped symbol in it.

"Mega Evolve." Mewtwo said as he touched the keystone of his Mega Pendant which shined in a bright white light.

Charizardtwo glowed bright red-orange & mega evolved

"Behold Mega Charizard Y." Mewtwo said

Mega Charizard Y retained its normal coloration. It has three pointed horns on the back of its head, the middle of which is longer. Its snout has larger fangs and a ridge on the nose. Its neck is shorter, but it's torso is thinner and longer. It features longer digitigrade feet. Its hands are less developed, with extremely shortened fingers that are no longer separated from each other. Small wings develop on its wrists, while the ones on its back become larger, lose the wing finger passing through their membrane and end up with ragged edges. The back of its tail has a large spike at the base and three smaller ones near the tip, which now burns with a longer flame.

"It's X vs Y." Serena said

Than a big bright sun appeared in the sky

"What's happening?" Meowth said

"Mega Charizard Y ability is Drought, Drought summons harsh sunlight in battle as soon as a Pokémon with Drought enters the battle. Its effects are like the move Sunny Day, but instead of lasting for a limited amount of turns, it lasts for the whole battle." Mewtwo said

"Careful Charizard, Use Rock Tomb." Ash said. Mega Charizard X became outlined in white energy, multiple gray rocks appeared, & launched them at Mega Charizard Y. But it flew up in the sky & dodged the attack

"Charizard, after it." Ash said as Mega Charizard X flew up after Mega Charizard Y.

"Use Dragon Claw." Ash & Mewtwo both said. Mega Charizard X & Y's claws became surrounded by a light green claw-shaped aura & clashed with each other repeatedly

"Flamethrower."

Both Pokémon shot fire from their mouths, but Mega Charizard Y's proved to be stronger, went through Mega Charizard X's Flamethrower, & hit him.

"Now, Seismic Toss." Mewtwo said. Mega Charizard Y grabbed Mega Charizard X, & slammed him into the ground creating a cloud of dust. When the dust cleared, Mega Charizard X had fainted & reverted back to his previous form. Mega Charizard Y reverted back to its previous form & the Drought deactivated.

"Charizard!" Ash cried

"It seems that all of lack strength" Mewtwo said as three black Poké Balls with a red eyes at the center appeared & captured Bruteroot, Shellshocker, & Charizard

"What do you think you're doing?" Serena demanded

"I'm going to make stronger clones from these Pokémon of yours." Mewtwo said as multiple Mewtwo Balls appeared "They will remain on this island, while I destroy this world."

"No, Mewtwo wait!" Ash called out

"Don't try to defy me, boy! This world will be mine!" Mewtwo snapped as the Mewtwo Balls started levitating towards the Pokémon

"We have to get out of here!" Serena said as she put Togepi in her bag.

All of the Ash, Serena, Brock, Corey, Neesha, & Fergus' Pokémon except Pikachu, Eevee, & Meowth ended up getting captured by the Mewtwo Balls. Pikachu, Meowth, & Eevee kept dodging & fighting off the Mewtwo Balls with Swift, Thunderbolt, & Pay Day. Eevee spotted one Mewtwo Ball that was headed for Pikachu while he wasn't looking.

"Eevee!" Eevee cried as he pushed Pikachu away & got captured.

"Pika!" Pikachu cried

"Eevee!" Meowth cried before getting hit by a Mewtwo Ball

"Pika!" Pikachu gasped

"Pikachu, save yourself!" Meowth exclaimed as he got sucked in by the Mewtwo Ball

Pikachu kept running away, dodging, & fighting off the Mewtwo Balls, but he ended up getting captured.

"Pikachu! " Ash cried as he ran after the Mewtwo Ball that captured Pikachu.

Back at the lab with Jessie & James

"Jessie, the machines are cloning the Pokémon from those Poké Balls." James said as the clones appeared in the pods

Just then Ash got to lab

"Ash?" Jessie said as Ash ran after the Mewtwo Ball that captured Pikachu into the machine

"Ash, what are you doing!?" James exclaimed

Ash grabbed the Mewtwo Ball which got grabbed by a robotic claw along with him.

"We have to get him out of there." Jessie said as Ash fought off the robotic claws

"Ash, take my hand!" James called out

Ash grabbed James' hand, Jessie grabbed Ash's arm & they both pulled him out of the machine. Then the Mewtwo Ball released Pikachu.

"Pikachu!" Ash said happily

"Pika!" Pikachu said as he hugged Ash.

"Ash, are you alright?" James asked

"Yeah." Ash nodded

"What in the world were you thinking? You're so reckless." Jessie scolded

"Sorry Jess." Ash apologized

Then all the clones came out of their pods & went to the stadium

"So those are the clones." Ash said

Then suddenly the machine exploded & the Mewtwo Balls came out & release the Pokémon

"Meowth! Ivysaur! Wartortle! Jigglypuff! Charizard! Fearow!" Ash exclaimed as he hugged his Pokémon

"Ash, what's going on?" James asked

"It's Mewtwo, he's going to destroy the world & we have to stop him." Ash replied

Back with Mewtwo & the others

"I have no intentions of harming you, so I'm giving you a chance to leave. That is if you can make it back through the storm." Mewtwo said as the clones went to Mewtwo's aid.

Then an explosion appeared at the entrance of the lab

"I won't let you do this, Mewtwo." Ash said as he & the Pokémon appeared

"It's Ash & our Pokémon." Serena smiled

"So, you free them?" Mewtwo assumed

"Yes, & we won't let it end like this." Ash said as he charged at Mewtwo & tried to punch him, but Mewtwo caught the fist with his hand

"Is that your best shot?" Mewtwo said as his eyes glowed blue

"Ash, watch out!" Serena cried

Mewtwo sent Ash flying at the high point of the castle, but a large pink bubble appeared & caught Ash.

"Mew." Mew said as it appeared

"Is that?" Serena said.

"It can't be." Brock said shockingly

"Mew..." Mewtwo said

"Thanks for saving me." Ash said gratefully

"Mew." Mew nodded before nearly getting hit by a Shadow Ball

"So we finally meet. I am Mewtwo, I was cloned by your DNA to become the world's strongest Pokémon, stronger than you & I will prove that I am better than the original, superior to you." Mewtwo said

"Mew & Mewtwo." Brock said

"So Mewtwo was made from Mew." Serena said

"This world isn't big enough for the two of us!" Mewtwo said as he attacked Mewtwo

Mewtwo chased Mew around the castle firing Shadow Ball after Shadow Ball

"Why won't you fight back? Are you afraid to find which of us is greater?" Mewtwo asked

"Mew." Mew said

"Enough of this." Mewtwo said as he punched the ground & big stone pillar surrounded Mew

Mew went up out of the pillars & got hit by Mewtwo's Shadow Ball which sent it flying into the cloud. Then out from the clouds fired a sphere of blue aura & hit Mewtwo. Then Mew came out of the cloud

"So you do have some fight in you." Mewtwo said "But I don't have time for games. Destiny is at hand. So, who will win, my clones or the originals? We were created to be stronger than the originals."

"Mew Mew Mew." Mew said

"Mew said you don't have to prove anything by showing off a lot of moves & that a Pokémon's real strength is measured by its heart." Meowth said

"So be it, my clones won't need moves to prove their worth." Mewtwo said "Now we shall see who triumphs!"

As Ash started to come down, the Pokémon except Pikachu, Meowth, & Eevee started hitting, punching, tackling & biting each other. Then Pikachu encountered his clone, Pikachutwo tackled Pikachu, but Pikachu didn't fight back. Just then the Pokémon & their clones began to become exhausted

"Pokémon aren't meant to fight like this." Joy said "the only thing that can come out of it is pain."

"Why can't Mewtwo understand that forcing Pokémon to battle this way is wrong?" Brock said

"Even if they're clones, they're still Pokémon living in this world." Serena said sadly

"It tears my heart apart to see them like this." Jessie said sadly

"They're only hurting themselves." James said

Meowth & Eevee stared sadly at the fight until their clones confronted them

"So, you want to fight us too?" Meowth asked

Meowthtwo & Eeveetwo shook their heads

"Eevee?" Eevee asked

"Meow Meow." Meowthtwo asked

"You say we don't have to fight?" Meowth asked

"Eevee Eevee." Eeveetwo said

"Well how do we know if this a trick or not?" Meowth asked

"Eevee." Eevee said

"Eevee Eevee." Eeveetwo said

"Meow Meow Meow" Meowthtwo said

"Hm, you're right, we were both born into this world & that makes us both the same. We are one" Meowth smiled

"Eevee." Eevee agreed

Meanwhile Mew & Mewtwo were still fighting, Ash was still coming down, & Pikachu was still taking hits from his clone.

"Pikachu!" Pikachutwo demanded

"Pika Pika." Pikachu said refusingly only to get tackled again which weakened him

Pikachutwo went towards Pikachu, but Eevee tackled Pikachutwo.

"Eevee!" Eevee said defensively

"Pikachu, are you ok?" Meowth asked as he helped Pikachu up on his feet

"Pika Pika." Pikachu nodded

"Eevee." Eevee said as she went up to Pikachu, licked his cheek & nuzzled him in affection

"Pikachu." Pikachu smiled

Pikachutwo got up & was about to attack, but Meowthtwo & Eeveetwo intervened.

"Eevee Eevee Eevee" Eeveetwo pleaded

"Pika Pikachu!" Pikachutwo demanded

"Meow Meow Meow." Meowthtwo said

Then Ash came down

"Ash." Brock said as he & Serena ran toward him

"I have to stop this." Ash said

"But how?" Brock asked "those Pokémon look like they're going to fight to the death."

"& it's a fight that no one is going to win." Serena said

Both Mew & Mewtwo began emanating large auras of psychic energy & fired psychic blast at each other, but Ash ran in between them

"STOP!" Ash yelled before getting hit by the psychic blasts

"ASH!" Serena cried

"NO!" Brock yelled

Ash fell on the ground & turned into stone

"What? Why would a human try to stop our battle?" Mewtwo said confusingly

"Pikachu!" Pikachu cried as he ran up to Ash.

Everyone stared in aghast as Pikachu tried to shake him awake, then he used Thunder Shock repeatedly to try to wake him up, but it was no use.

"Boss..." Meowth said softly with tears in his eyes

"No..." Brock said in shock

"He's...gone" Serena said tearfully

"Pikachu." Pikachu sobbed as he began to cry

The rest of the Pokémon also began to cry & realized what they did was wrong which cost the life of an innocent human. Then particles of their tear floated towards Ash & went into him which caused him to glow. When the last of Pikachu's tears went into Ash, Ash glowed brighter & returned to normal. Ash looked up at Pikachu & smiled

"Pikachu." Ash said

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu said happily as he hugged him

"The tears of the Pokémon brought Ash back to life, just like Miranda said in the legend." Corey said

"Ash!" Serena cried as she, Brock, Jessie, & James ran towards Ash

"Guys." Ash said as Serena embraced him

"Thank goodness, you're ok." James said in relief

"We thought we lost you." Brock said

"You really are reckless." Jessie smiled

"Ash, what were you thinking!? Do you realize how terrified I was!?" Serena exclaimed as she cried "I wouldn't be able to live with myself, if anything happened to you!"

"It's okay, Serena. Everything is alright, I'm sorry for scaring you like that." Ash comforted

"Please, just don't do that ever again." Serena sniffed

"I'll try, but I can't make any promises." Ash said

Then Mewtwo went towards Ash

"You sacrificed yourself to save the Pokémon. I turned them against each other until they set aside their differences & saw the true power they shared deep inside." Mewtwo said "It's true that both Mew & I are Pokémon. I realize that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It's what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are. I hope you all can forgive me."

"Of course we do, Mewtwo." Ash said

"We understand how you felt & we're happy you realized your mistakes." Serena said

"Thank you, before my clones & I go, I'd like Serena to have this." Mewtwo said as he took off his Mega Pendant & put it on Serena.

"You're giving this to me?" Serena asked

"Yes, I have no use for it anymore." Mewtwo said. "I'm also going to send you all back to the Old Shore Wharf, but before I do that, you must promise to never reveal anyone your encounter with me. Is that clear?"

"Sure, you can count on us." Corey assured

"Where are you going, Mewtwo?" Ash asked

"Where my heart can learn what yours know so well." Mewtwo said "I surely hope we'll meet again, Ash Ketchum."

Mewtwo, his clones, & Mew flew through the sky & left. Then a large, ocean blue circle appeared below everyone & glowed. When the light faded, they were back at the Old Shore Wharf.

"Looks like we're back where we started." Fergus said

"Yeah." Neesha said

"It's good to be back." Nurse Joy said in relief

"Hey Boss, look." Meowth said pointing outside

The gang, Jessie, & James went outside at the docks & the storm stopped

"The storm disappeared." James said

"I guess Mewtwo stopped it." Jessie said "Speaking of Mewtwo, James & I discovered that Mewtwo was created by a man named Dr. Fuji."

"Dr. Fuji? Is he any related to Mr. Fuji?" Serena asked

"Looks like we have a new mystery on our hands." Ash said

Then suddenly they saw Mew flying in the sky & smiled wondering what new experiences they'll have & mysteries yet to be discovered. Find out as the journey continues.

I'm sorry if you thought Ash was gonna catch Mew, but don't worry he will catch a Mew, just not this one. As for Mewtwo, he will join Ash the next time they meet. I know that some of you are confused that I posted the movie chapter early, but the truth is the first movie was released after the K-9 Caper episode in Japan.
