Melvin the Magician

The gang were at a carnival having fun, they went on rides, ate ice cream, etc. They were planning on where to ride next until they saw a woman yelling at a man with a black top hat & a green magician uniform. Next to the were six pink egg-like Pokémon.

"I had enough, I quit!" The woman yelled

"Please, I promise to pay you." The man said

"If you're gonna pay, then pay me now." The woman scowled

"I can't, not right now." The man said "But as soon as I get some customers, I will

"& who do you think is going to watch your show?" The woman said

"..." The man said in silence

"That's what I thought." The woman scoffed as she left

"Oh, that's just swell." The man sighed.

"Sir, are you okay?" Ash asked

"I'm fine, I've had better days." The man said

"What was that all about?" Ash asked

"I'm a magician, but I'm not very popular, I'm working really hard on my magic act. So far, I can do the simplest of magic" The magician said as he snapped his fingers & a flower appeared in his hand & gave it to Serena

"Wow, that's incredible." Serena said in awe

"Thank you, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Melvin." Melvin introduced with a tip of his hat

"I'm Ash, & these are my partners Pikachu & Meowth" Ash introduced

"Pika Pika." Pikachu greeted

"Hello." Meowth greeted

"I'm Serena & this is my partner Eevee." Serena introduced

"Eevee." Eevee greeted.

"& I'm Brock." Brock said

"Pleased to meet you, this Pokémon here is my partner Exeggcute." Melvin introduced his Pokémon

"Exeggcute." Exeggcute greeted as Serena pulled out her Rotom Phone

Exeggcute, the Egg Pokémon, A Grass & Psychic Type. Exeggcute is made up of six eggs that communicate with one another using telepathy. Crabrawler sometimes seeks out this Pokémon to pick a fight, but it can't stand up to Exeggcute's psychic powers.

"Anyway, my dream is to have my own show in Las Vegas & perform my magic act before a huge audience." Melvin said before he sighed "Unfortunately, I haven't made any progress, I guess it's time for us to give up on our dream."

"Exeggcute." Exeggcute sadly agreed

"You're not giving up that easy, are you?" Ash asked

"Well—" Melvin said before being interrupted

"If your show's that bad, then you should learn some new tricks." Serena suggested "You should never give up, until it's over."

"You also need to have confidence in yourself." Ash pointed out

"But how?" Melvin asked "How am I supposed to learn some new tricks, I don't even have an inspiration for that, not to mention I don't have any confidence."

"Then let's have a Pokémon battle." Ash said

"What?" Melvin said surprisingly

"If you & I have a battle, maybe you'll get your inspiration." Ash said

"That might be a good idea." Brock said

"Alright, let's do it." Melvin said

In the tent, Ash & Melvin got into battle position

"Does, one on one sound good?" Ash asked

"Yes." Melvin nodded

"Alright, Charmander, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Charmander

"Charmander." Charmander said

"Exeggutor, go!" Melvin said as he sent out a coconut tree-like Pokémon

"Exeggutor." The Pokémon said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Exeggutor, the Coconut Pokémon, a Grass & Psychic, & the evolved form of Exeggcute. Exeggutor's three heads all have minds of their own, & every decision involves a telepathic discussion. Sometimes one of the heads drops to the ground & grows into an Exeggcute.

"Trainers ready?" Brock said acting as the referee

"Ready." Both Ash & Melvin nodded

"Alright, battle begin!" Brock said

ASH VS MELVIN

"Alright, Charmander, use Hone Claws" Ash said. Charmander's claws extend and glowed red, & an orange glow then shot up along his body increasing his Attack & Accuracy power.

"Exeggutor, use Confusion." Melvin said. Exeggutor's eyes glowed violet, released a psychic energy & hit Charmander

"Use Flame Charge." Ash said. Charmander became surrounded by red flames & tackled Exeggutor

"Use Stomp." Melvin said as Exeggutor jumped into the air

"Dodge it." Ash said as Charmander quickly dodged the attack

"Now, use Flamethrower."

Charmander shot fire from his mouth

"Use Light Screen." Melvin said. Exeggutor summoned a pink curved force field & protected itself from the attack

"Now, Sleep Powder."

Exeggutor released a blanket of light green spores from its mouth & hit Charmander which caused him to fall asleep.

"Psyshock."

Exeggutor fired a stream of purple energy & hit Charmander

"Charmander, Sleep Talk." Ash said. Charmander fist became engulfed in flames & punched Exeggutor

"Good Golly! Charmander used Fire Punch in his sleep!" Meowth exclaimed in shock

"That's what Sleep Talk does." Brock mentioned "Sleep Talk Sleep randomly chooses one of the Pokémon's moves and uses it."

"Exeggutor, use Uproar." Melvin said

"TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR! TOR!" Exeggutor chanted loudly as booming sound waves came out of its mouth & hit Charmander which caused him to instantly wake up & cover his ears.

The Uproar went on for several seconds until

"CHAAAAAAAR!" Charmander roared as he glowed bluish white & evolved into red lizard-like Pokémon

"Charmeleon!" He roared again as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Charmeleon, the Lizard Pokémon, a Fire Type, & the evolved form of Charmander. When Charmeleon takes on a powerful opponent in battle, its tail flame glows white-hot. Its claws are very sharp.

Ability: Blaze

Hidden Ability: Solar Power

Learned Moves: Dragon Rage, Fire Blast, & Slash

"Congratulations, Charmeleon." Ash congratulated

"Char." Charmeleon smiled

"Astounding," Melvin complimented "but that's not going to stop us. Use Seed Bomb."

Exeggutor fired multiple glowing green explosives seeds from its mouth

"Intercept it with Swift." Ash said. Charmeleon's tail flame glowed yellow & fired multiple yellow stars.

The attacks collided & created a barrage of firework

"Aah." Melvin said he became awestrucked

"Alright, Charmeleon, use Fire Blast." Ash said. Charmeleon released a 大-shaped blast of yellow-orange fire from his mouth & hit Exeggutor which caused it to faint

"Exeggutor is unable to battle, Charmeleon is the winner & the match goes to Ash." Brock declared

"Way to go, Charmeleon." Ash said as he hugged Charmeleon

"Char!" Charmeleon said happily as he fired Flamethrower at Ash's face

"Hey, what was that for?" Ash said as he wiped the soot off his face

"Ash, thank you for the battle." Melvin said gratefully

"You're welcome." Ash said

"You did great too, Melvin." Serena said "You looked like you'd gain more confidence in yourself."

"Thank you, & thanks to that battle I've now gotten my inspiration." Melvin said "It inspired me to work harder on my magic & come up with new tricks. So I've made the decision to keep following my dream & never give up until the end"

"That's the spirit." Ash said

The gang enjoyed the rest of the carnival. At sunset, they bid farewell to Melvin & wished him luck as the journey continues.
