Kangaskhan

The gang were walking through a jungle to the Safari Zone

"We might still be in the Pokémon Reserve." Brock said

"Hey, someone's coming." Serena said spotting a jeep

The jeep stopped in front of the gang, & the driver revealed to be Officer Jenny.

"Hey kids, heading somewhere?" Jenny asked

"Yeah, we're heading to the Safari Zone. Do you know where it is?" Ash asked

"Of course, it's not far from here. If you kids got some time to spare, I can show you around." Jenny offered

"Sure, we could use a little tour" Serena said

As they were driving off

"So, Jenny, are you like the ranger around this reserve?" Brock asked

"Sure am, I protect the Pokémon from poachers & thieves." Jenny said

"Are there any rare Pokémon here?" Ash asked

"Yep, I know just the area where they are." Jenny said

Jenny & the gang arrived at the area & saw a horde of brown & cream kangaroo/dinosaur hybrid-like Pokemon & in their pouches were purple & cream baby versions of themselves.

"Wow, who're those Pokémon?" Ash said in awe as he pulled out his Rotom Phone

Kangaskhan, the Parent Pokémon, A Normal Type. Kangaskhan will risk everything to protect the little one in its pouch. If you hear this Pokémon crying, keep an eye out for a young Kangaskhan who's just set out on its own.

"They look very strong & nurturing" Brock complimented

"& their babies look so adorable" Serena said in adoration

Pikachu looked at the Kangaskhan, then it spotted one of them & stared in recognition. Then Pikachu hopped out of the jeep & came towards the Kangaskhan he stared at.

"Hey Pikachu, what are you doing?" Ash asked following Pikachu

When Pikachu went to the Kangaskhan

"Pika Pika" Pikachu said

"Skhan?" Kangaskhan said as it looked at Pikachu

"Pi Pikachu Pi" Pikachu said

"Skhan!" Kangaskhan exclaimed taking a closer look at him "Kanga Kangaskhan?"

"Pika Pi" Pikachu nodded

"Kangaskhan!" Kangaskhan smiled happily as it & it's baby hugged Pikachu

"What's going on?" Serena asked confusingly

"Ash, I think your Pikachu is familiar with that Kangaskhan" Brock said

"Hey Pikachu, do you know this Kangaskhan" Ash asked

"Pika" Pikachu nodded "Pi Pika Pikachu"

"What?" Meowth said surprisingly

"What did Pikachu say, Meowth?" Ash asked

"You ain't gonna believe this, but this Kangaskhan is Pikachu's adoptive mother." Meowth said

"His what?!" The gang exclaimed in surprise shock

"Pika Pikachu Pika" Pikachu said

"He said she adopted & raised him when he was a Pichu." Meowth said "but one night he evolved into Pikachu & left"

"Well, this is certainly a surprise." Jenny said

"Pika Pi Pika" Pikachu said introducing Kangaskhan to Ash

"Kanga." Kangaskhan said giving Ash & Meowth a big bone crushing hug

"Ngh!" Ash groaned

"Kanga Kangaskhan" Kangaskhan said

"I think she's thanking you for taking good care of Pikachu" Jenny said smiling

"I can't breathe!" Meowth choked as his face turned purple

"Kanga" Kangaskhan apologized as she lets go of them

Suddenly an explosion appeared in the sky

"What was that?" Ash said

"Poachers are here" Jenny said

Then the gang, Jenny, & Kangaskhan got caught in a big net. The gang & Jenny heard laughing & saw Team Rocket

"It's Team Rocket." Ash said

"Well, guess the Kangaskhan aren't the only ones we captured." Cassidy smiled evilly

"You won't get away with this" Serena shouted

"We already have besides, who's gonna save you now?" Butch smirked

Then Team Rocket suddenly got hit on the head & became unconscious. When the gang & Jenny looked, they saw a boy with blue-green spiky hair, black eyes, wearing a tiger patterned loincloth.

"You folks, you okay?" The boy asked

"We're fine." Ash said "can you help us?"

"Don't worry, Tomo will get you out." The boy who described himself as Tomo said as he cut the net with his boomerang

The gang, Jenny, & Kangaskhan got out of the net thanks to Tomo

"Ugh, what happened?" Butch said waking up

"Oh, my head" Cassidy said rubbing her head

When Team Rocket looked up, they saw the Kangaskhan with angry scowls on their faces which made Team Rocket tremble in fear

"Use Hyper Beam" Tomo said. The leader of the Kangaskhan fired an orange beam from her mouth & sent Team Rocket blasting off

"That takes care of them" Tomo said

"Thank you so much" Serena said gratefully

"You're welcome" Tomo said

"Kid, what was your name again?" Jenny asked

"Tomo, if you need any help, Tomo will be there" Tomo said as he left with the Kangaskhan. Pikachu's adoptive mother stayed behind

"That boy, he looked so familiar." Jenny said in wonder

Then a helicopter appeared & landed in front of the gang. A short man with a zebra patterned suit, a red bow tie, brown shoes, blue-green bowl cut hair, & a moustache & a woman with dark red hair & a safari outfit got out of the helicopter.

"Mr & Mrs Schmidt, I didn't know you two were coming." Jenny said surprisingly

"Greeting, Ranger Jenny. How's the reserve?" Mr. Schmidt asked

"Doing splendidly, sir. The Pokémon are very well protected" Jenny replied

"Good" Mr. Schmidt nodded as he looked at the gang. "& who might they be?"

"These kids are just passing by, they're going to the Safari Zone." Jenny said

"I see, greetings children, I'm Charles Schmidt, the owner of this Pokémon Reserve area, & this is my wife, Jane Schmidt." Charles introduced

"Hello, it's nice to meet you." Jane greeted with a smile

"You too, I'm Ash, & these are my partners, Pikachu & Meowth." Ash said

"Pika Pika" Pikachu greeted

"Howdy." Meowth greeted

"I'm Serena & this is my partner Eevee." Serena said

"Eevee" Eevee greeted

"Mr. & Mrs Schmidt, I have some news about your son." Jenny said

Back at the station

"Five years ago, we were showing our son Tommy, the Pokémon reserve on the helicopter. He was only 3 years old back then." Jane explained sadly

"When Tommy was trying to get a closer look, he fell out of the helicopter by accident. Luckily he had a parachute on him, we found the parachute, but not Tommy. We searched & searched but we couldn't find him. Oh, if I hadn't been so careless, we wouldn't be in this situation" Charles sighed sadly

"Ranger Jenny, what's the news about our son?" Jane asked

After Jenny explained what happened recently

"Oh, so he's with the Kangaskhan?" Jane asked

"Yes" Jenny said

"We saw him recently, just before you arrived here" Ash said

"We'll be able to help you finding your son" Serena said

"Thank you, I'm very grateful." Charles said gratefully

As they were searching for Tomo, Pikachu was riding in his adoptive mothers pouch with his sister like old times.

"I see your Pikachu is very acquainted with one of the Kangaskhan" Charles said looking at Pikachu & Kangaskhan

"That's because Kangaskhan is Pikachu's adoptive mother." Brock mentioned

"Oh, really?" Charles asked curiously

"Yeah, we found out that Pikachu was raised when he was a Pichu." Ash explained

"Wait, did you say Pichu?" Charles asked wide-eyed

"Yes, why?" Ash said

"We remember a Pichu used to live here with the Kangaskhan a long time ago." Jane mentioned

"& it seems that your Pikachu is the same Pichu that used to live here at reserve." Charles said as he turned to Pikachu "Pikachu, I have to ask, why did you leave?"

"Pika Pika Pikachu" Pikachu explained

"He said he realized carrying both him & his sister was becoming a burden to Kangaskhan. So he decided to leave & his gratitude caused him to evolve." Meowth translated

"Kanga?" Kangaskhan asked

"Pika." Pikachu said sheepishly

"Kangaskhan Kanga." Kangaskhan said petting Pikachu

"Kangaskhan said it was never a burden to her while she was carrying both him & his sister." Meowth translated

"Hey!" Tomo called out as he dropped by

"Tomo, we've been looking for you." Brock said

"Is there something Tomo can do for you?" Tomo asked

"Tommy!" Charles & Jane cried happily

"Mama? Papa? Is that you?" Tomo gasped

"Yes son, it's us." Jane said as she & her husband hugged their son

"Oh, my boy, I thought we lost you. I'm so sorry." Charles apologized tearfully

"It's ok, Papa. Tomo not mad, the Kangaskhan took good care of me." Tomo assured

"Mr. Schmidt!" Jenny called out as she was in her jeep

"What is it?" Charles asked

"It's the Kangaskhan, they're in danger again" Jenny said

When they got to the Kangaskhan, they were being captured by a giant robot Kangaskhan by putting them in the mouthpart which had cages on the inside

"It's Team Rocket again." Brock said

"Kanga!" Pikachu's adoptive mother roared as she charged at the robot, but the robot shot a tranquilizer dart which hit her & caused her to be drowsy & be captured by the robot.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu cried

"Hey, let them go!" Tomo said charging at the robot

The robot then released smoke at Tomo which caused him to stop, then it captured him

"Tomo!" Jane cried

"That does it!" Charles said angrily "Dear, let's teach these scoundrels a lesson."

"Yes" Jane nodded in determination as she & her husband each pulled out a Poké Ball

"Go Machamp!" Charles said

"Go Vileplume!" Jane said

Charles sent out a humanoid Pokémon with four arms & Jane sent out a rafflesia-like Pokémon

"Machamp!" The first Pokémon as it flexed

"Vile." The second Pokémon said as Ash & Serena pulled out their Pokémon

Machamp, the Superpower Pokémon, A Fighting Type, & the final evolved form of Machop. Machamp really shines when it's called upon to perform feats of strength—with its four massive arms, it can even pick up a heavy dump truck. It's less good at tasks that require manual dexterity & precision.

Vileplume, the Flower Pokémon, a Grass & Poison Type, & the evolved form of Gloom. Many people are terribly allergic to the poisonous pollen Vileplume gives off. The petals of its flower are truly enormous.

"We'll help too." Ash said

"Pika!" Pikachu said

"Team Rocket, this is your one & only warning; release my son & the Kangaskhan or face the consequences." Charles warned

"Oh yeah, what are you gonna do about it?" Butch taunted

"Hm, so that's how it's gonna be. Attack now!" Charles shouted

"Pikachu, use Volt Tackle" Ash said.

"Vileplume, Petal Blizzard" Jane said.

"Machamp, Hyper Beam." Charles said

Pikachu became surrounded by golden electricity & charged at the robot, Machamp fired an orange beam from its mouth, & Vileplume released a blizzard of multiple pink petals. As the move combined, Pikachu was surrounded by golden orange electric energy with pink petals & tackled the robot with great force. The impact caused the robot to lose its balance & fall on its front

"Machamp" Machamp said as it opened the robots mouth

"Pika Pika" Pikachu called out

The Kangaskhan & Tomo managed to get out of the robot

"Mama! Papa!" Tomo cried as he hugged his mother

"Oh thank goodness, you're safe" Jane said in relief

"Now, to finish them off. Machamp, use Focus Blast" Charles said. Machamp launched an orb of yellow energy from its hands

"Vileplume, use Solar Beam" Jane said. Vileplume's petals glowed faint yellow with multiple yellow balls floating around & fired a beam of yellow energy

"Kangaskhan, use Hyper Beam" Tomo said as the Kangaskhan leader fired Hyper Beam

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt" Ash said

"Pika CHUUUUUUU!" Pikachu said as he fired a bolt of yellow electricity

The attacks mixed together & hit the robot which caused it to explode & sent Team Rocket blasting off

"Pika Pika" Pikachu said as he hugged his adoptive mother

"Kangaskhan" Kangaskhan smiled

"That was amazing, Mama & Papa." Tomo beamed with happiness

"We're just happy, you're ok, sweetheart." Jane smiled

"Hey, can I be a Pokémon Trainer so I can be able to protect the Pokémon here in the reserve, please?" Tomo asked

"Of course, you can. I'm sure you'll become a terrific Pokémon Trainer" Charles said

"Yay!" Tomo cheered with excitement

Later

"This path will lead you to the Safari Zone" Jenny said

"Thank you so much for helping us find our son." Jane said

"You're welcome." Ash said

"It was a real pleasure" Brock said

"Pika Pika" Pikachu said saying goodbye to his adoptive family

"Kangaskhan" Kangaskhan said

"Hmm." Charles said, staring at them before turning to Ash "Ash, there's something I want you to do, before you go."

"What is it?" Ash asked

"I want you to take the Kangaskhan that raised your Pikachu with you." Charles said

"What? Are you sure about that?" Ash asked

"I insist, besides what kind of person would I be to keep a mother from her child. So, as the owner of this reserve area, I'm allowing you to catch Pikachu's adoptive mother" Charles said

"Ok." Ash said as he turned to Pikachu's adoptive mother "What do you say, Kangaskhan? You wanna come along with me & Pikachu"

"Kanga" Kangaskhan nodded

"Ok, Go Ultra Ball!" Ash said as he threw an Ultra Ball at Kangaskhan captured her "Alright, I caught a Kangaskhan"

Kangaskhan's Ultra Ball got transported to the PC

"Kangaskhan" The Kangaskhan leader said as she pulled out a faint yellow Mega Stone with a light purple, black, & light brown s-shaped symbol out of her pouch & gave it to Ash

"Wow, a Mega Stone." Ash said surprisingly

"It's a Kangaskhanite, a Mega Stone that can mega evolve Kangaskhan into Mega Kangaskhan." Tomo said

"Thank you." Ash said

So, with a new Mega Stone, & a new member of the family, the gang were on their way to the Safari Zone, as the journey continues

Hey everyone, I decided to have Pikachu's adoptive mother make an appearance in this chapter. I also decided to name Tommy's parents since they didn't have names in the anime. When I saw the first episode of Pokémon Journeys, I never expected that Pikachu was adopted by a Kangaskhan when he was a Pichu. I also decided to have Tommy's parents be the owners of the Pokémon Reserve so that way he can stay with his parents & the Kangaskhan. I hope Ash catches Pikachu's adoptive family, when Pikachu reunites with them in the anime. Morpho Out.
