Ivysaur & Venusaur

The gang were in a forest, when Ash & Brock were having a training battle.

"Bulbasaur, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Bulbasaur

"Bulba." Bulbasaur said

"Go Rhyhorn!" Brock said as he sent out his Rhyhorn

"Rhy." Rhyhorn grumbled

"Are you ready?" Serena asked

"Ready." Ash & Brock said

"Alright, let's go!" Serena said

ASH VS BROCK

"Use Take Down." Ash & Brock said. Bulbasaur & Rhyhorn became surrounded by a golden force field & clashed into each other causing an explosion & caused both Pokémon to skid back.

"Rhyhorn, use Rock Blast." Brock said. Rhyhorn's horn glowed white & fired multiple silver rocks & hit Bulbasaur

"Use Razor Leaf." Ash said. Bulbasaur fired multiple green glowing leaves from his bulb & hit Rhyhorn

"Use Fire Fang." Brock said. Rhyhorn's fangs glowed red-orange, created red-orange teeth-like aura with flames & bites down Bulbasaur

"Bulbasaur, use Leech Seed." Ash said. Bulbasaur fired several seeds from his bulb into the ground around Rhyhorn. Then the seeds immediately grow into vines, latched onto Rhyhorn & drain his energy.

"Now, use Energy Ball."

Bulbasaur fired an orb of light green energy from his mouth & hit Rhyhorn which caused him to faint.

"Rhyhorn is unable to battle, Bulbasaur wins." Serena declared

"Are you alright, Rhyhorn." Brock asked

"Rhy." Rhyhorn grumbled

"You gave it your best shot, now take a good rest." Brock smiled as he returned Rhyhorn

"You were great, Bulbasaur." Ash praised

But suddenly, Bulbasaur collapsed

"Oh no, Bulbasaur." Ash gasped

"What's wrong with Bulbasaur?" Serena said worriedly

"I don't know." Ash said

"Boss, look at Bulbasaur's bulb." Meowth pointed as the bulb was glowing blue.

"It's glowing." Serena said

"Let's get him to the Pokémon Center." Brock suggested

They took Bulbasaur to the Pokémon Center.

"Nurse Joy, I think there's something wrong with my Bulbasaur" Ash said

"Hm...I wonder." Joy pondered as she looked at Bulbasaur

"Wonder what?" Ash asked

"Excuse me, but just give me a moment to examine your Bulbasaur." Joy said

"Okay." Ash said

"Don't worry, everything is gonna be just fine." Joy assured

The gang waited in the waiting room.

"Toge Toge." Togepi said with worry

"Don't worry, sweetie. I'm sure Bulbasaur's gonna be alright." Serena comforted

Then Joy came out of the emergency room

"Nurse Joy, is Bulbasaur okay?" Ash asked

"He is, he's just getting ready to evolve." Joy said

"Really?" Ash asked surprisingly as Joy nodded

"That means Bulbasaur is gonna evolve into Ivysaur." Serena said happily

"Bulbasaur is strong & you've done a great job raising him, Ash." Brock said

"So, when is he gonna evolve?" Ash asked

"Look over there." Nurse Joy said as she pointed out the window

The gang saw multiple flowers blooming & sparkling pollen came out.

"At a certain time of the year, Bulbasaur gather around for a festival where they evolve. It seems to have something to do with the alignment of the planets & the phases of the moon." Joy explained

"Where do the Bulbasaur evolve?" Meowth asked

"At the Mysterious Garden." Joy replied "No one has ever seen it & most people think it's just an illusion."

"I hope we get to see the Mysterious Garden." Serena said

"Me too." Ash said

While everyone was sleeping, Bulbasaur was outside watching the full moon & the sparkling pollen.

"Pika?" A voice said

Bulbasaur turned & saw Pikachu, Eevee, & Meowth holding Togepi's hand

"Bulba." Bulbasaur said

"We woke up when we heard ya going outside the center." Meowth said

"Bulbasaur." Bulbasaur apologized

"Eevee." Eevee assured as she & the others sat in between him with Pikachu & Eevee on the right & Meowth & Togepi on the left

"Pika Pikachu." Pikachu said

"It sure is." Meowth said "Hey Bulbasaur, are ya excited now that you're gonna evolve soon?"

"Saur." Bulbasaur nodded

"You should be, first Squirtle evolved Wartortle, then Charmander evolved into Charmeleon, & evolved again into Charizard, now it's gonna be your turn, buddy." Meowth said

"Bulbasaur." Bulbasaur smiled

"Bulbasaur." A voice said.

They turned & saw a horde of Bulbasaur

"Bulba Bulba Saur." One of the wild Bulbasaur said

"Saur." Ash's Bulbasaur nodded as he left with the horde

"Pika Pi." Pikachu said

"Eevee." Eevee said

"We better tell the others." Meowth suggested

When they went back to the Pokémon Center

"Hey, wake up everybody." Meowth said

"Ugh, What?" Brock groaned as he was getting up. "Pikachu, Eevee, Meowth, Togepi, what are you doing up so late?"

"Sorry to wake you, but Bulbasaur has flown the coop." Meowth informed

"What? Where did he go?" Ash asked

"He just left with a horde of Bulbasaur." Meowth said

"Those must be the Bulbasaur that are headed to the mysterious garden." Serena said

"Come on, let's go find him." Ash said

They went to find Ash's Bulbasaur & followed a stream of pollen, then vines started moving around. Luckily they made it through, before the vines could block their path.

"Now I know why no one has seen the Mysterious Garden before." Brock said

"Eevee." Eevee called out

"What is it, Eevee?" Serena asked

"Eevee." Eevee said as she pointed at something

When they looked where Eevee was pointing, they saw multiple Bulbasaurs, a tree stump, & a giant leafless tree.

"This has to be the Mysterious Garden." Ash said

The Bulbasaurs started singing & flowers started blooming, Then from the tree came out a giant Bulbasaur-like Pokémon with the bud on its back has bloomed into a large pink, white-spotted flower. The flower is supported by a thick, brown trunk surrounded by green fronds.

"It's a Venusaur." Brock said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Venusaur, the Seed Pokémon, a Grass & Poison Type, & the evolved form of Ivysaur. When Venusaur is well nourished & spends enough time in the sun, the flower on its back is brightly colored. The blossom gives off a soothing scent.

"Saaaaaaur!" Venusaur roared as the Bulbasaur glowed bluish white & evolved into Ivysaur.

"Ivysaur." The Ivysaur said

"Wow, they evolved into Ivysaur." Ash said in amazement

"Bulbasaur & its evolution line are from the Grass & Monster group, without either of those, life wouldn't go on. They need each other to live & grow." Brock said

"Perhaps the Bulbasaur are a sign that all life on earth is connected." Serena said

"Yeah." Ash said

"Ivysaur!" An Ivysaur called out to the gang

"Ash, I think that Ivysaur is your Bulbasaur who evolved." Serena said

The gang came down & Ash kneeled in front of Ivysaur.

"Is that really you, Bulbasaur?" Ash asked

"Ivy." Ivysaur smiled as he nodded

"Thank goodness, you're alright." Ash said "You really had me worried."

"Ivysaur." Ivysaur apologized

"It's alright, Ivysaur." Ash assured as he pet Ivysaur "I'm just glad, you're ok."

"Saur." Ivysaur said as he hugged Ash

"Venusaur." Venusaur said walking up to the gang, technically it had been watching the gang interact with Ash's Ivysaur

"Don't look now, Ash. But I think we're in trouble." Brock said

"Venu Venusaur?" Venusaur asked

"We're sorry for trespassing, but this Ivysaur happens to be one of my Pokémon." Ash explained

"Venusaur?" Venusaur asked Ash's Ivysaur

"Ivy." Ash's Ivysaur nodded

"...Saur." Venusaur said as he went back to the tree

"It wants to show Ivysaur something." Meowth said

The gang & Ivysaur went with Venusaur to the tree. Venusaur released pollen from its flower at the tree & red flowers started blooming on the branches

"Ivy." Ash's Ivysaur said in awe & amazement

"Venu Venusaur Saur." Venusaur said to Ash's Ivysaur

"It's saying this is the result of Bulbasaurs' evolution. When they evolve, they will have the power to manipulate nature." Meowth said

"Wow, that's amazing." Serena said in amazement

Then Venusaur went into the tree & came back out holding a blue-green Mega Stone with a dark green, pink, & dark pink S-shaped symbol.

"Venusaur." Venusaur said as he gave Ash the Mega Stone

"A Mega Stone?" Ash said as he pulled out his Rotom Phone

This item is a Venusaurite, a Mega Stone that can mega evolve Venusaur into Mega Venusaur.

"You're just giving this to me?" Ash asked

"Saur." Venusaur nodded

"But why? Don't we have to have a battle?" Ash asked

"Venusaur." Venusaur said as it shook his head no "Venu Venusaur Venusaur."

"It says if we do battle, the battle will likely destroy everything they created. Since we're the first ones to find the Mysterious Garden & came all this way for Ivysaur, it believes that you should have it." Meowth translated

"Oh, thank you, Venusaur." Ash smiled

After they exited the Mysterious Garden. Ash checked out his Ivysaur on his Rotom Phone

Ability: Overgrow

Hidden Ability: Chlorophyll

Learned Moves: Solar Beam, Double-Edge, & Seed Bomb

"We certainly learned a lot today." Serena said

"We sure have." Ash agreed

"I think it makes sense why Venusaur didn't want to battle. For example, if you used Charizard, it would be possible for the Mysterious Garden to go up in flames." Brock pointed

"Yeah, that's a good point." Ash agreed

So with a new Mega Stone, a newly evolved Pokémon, the gang continued their way to Cinnabar Island as the journey continues.
