Indigo League Part 1: Mr. Goodshow & Reunion

The gang we're getting ready to go to the Indigo Plateau for the Indigo League

"Are you sure you have to go, the Indigo League doesn't start until next week" Delia said

"I know, but I wanted get there early, so I wouldn't be late for the Indigo Plateau Conference" Ash said

"Well, you know what they say; better safe than sorry" Delia said

"Thank you for helping us train, Mom" Ash said

"You're welcome, be sure to do your best, Ok?" Delia said as she hugged him

"Ok, we'll see you later" Ash said

"Thanks for letting us stay, Mrs. Ketchum." Serena said

"You're welcome, be sure to stay safe." Delia said

"We will." Brock said as he, Ash, & Serena left

"How do we get to the Indigo Plateau?" Serena asked

"We have to head to Viridian City, then turn left to Route 22 where the Pokémon League Reception Gate is. After I check in at the gate, we pass through Route 23 & Victory Road, & there we are." Ash said looking at his Rotom Phone.

When they arrived at the Pokémon League Reception Gate

"Hello, how may I help you?" The desk man said

"I'm here to compete in the Indigo Plateau Conference." Ash said

"Very well, put your Rotom Phone on the scanner." The desk man said

Ash put his Rotom Phone on the scanner & got registered for the Indigo League Conference.

"You are officially checked in for the Indigo League. Good luck at the tournament, Ash Ketchum" The desk man said

"Thank you" Ash said as he took back his Rotom Phone

After they passed Route, they arrived at the entrance.

"Well, what have we here?" The old man said as he came out of the entrance of the Victory Road "I certainly didn't expect you to come here early."

"Who are you?" Ash asked

"Oh, pardon me, I'm Charles Goodshow, President of the League Competition Committee, but you can call me Mr. Goodshow." Mr. Goodshow said "You must be Ash, Serena, & Brock."

"How do you know our names?" Serena asked

"Bruno told me all about you & he told me that you were coming." Mr. Goodshow said "Come, the Indigo Plateau's this way."

While the gang & Mr. Goodshow were walking through Victory Road

"So, this is what it's like going through Victory Road." Ash said in awe

"Yes, Victory Road earned its name because it has been traveled by all Trainers aiming for the top. Some trainers train here for the tournament while others catch the wild Pokémon that live here." Mr. Goodshow said "Bruno told me you were competing in the Indigo League Conference, he had sent me videos of the battle he had with you three, I was impressed & amazed, especially with you Ash."

"I guess you rarely see any trainer who owns a Moltres." Ash said

"Indeed" Mr. Goodshow nodded

When they arrived at the Indigo Plateau

"Here we are, Indigo Plateau." Mr. Goodshow said after they walked up the flight of stairs that lead up to the Indigo Plateau

"Wow, the Indigo Plateau looks amazing." Serena said in amazement

"Well, you three enjoy yourselves & Ash be sure to get yourself ready for the tournament next week." Mr. Goodshow said

"I will." Ash nodded

"Good, see you around." Mr. Goodshow said as he left

"Well, look who it is." A voice said

The gang looked & saw Gary & Leaf

"Gary, Leaf." Ash said

"Hey Ashy boy, I thought we were gonna see you next week, but here you are." Gary said

"Me neither." Ash said

"Have you been training for the tournament?" Serena asked

"Of course, & we're ready as we'll ever be." Leaf said

"Better watch out, Ash." Gary smirked "My Pokémon & I have gotten a lot stronger"

"Don't be too full of yourself, Gary." Ash said "I've gotten stronger as well with my Pokémon."

"Heh, Well, you did manage to defeat an Aerodactyl with your Charmeleon who evolved into Charizard & got 8 badges with no problem." Gary said before putting on a serious expression. "But this is the big league, some of the competitors here are no joke."

"Yeah, not only that, but the Kanto Gym Leaders, Elite Four, & Champion are gonna be here to watch the Indigo League Conference." Leaf said

"I know that." Ash said

"Anyway, we'll be seeing you." Gary said before leaving

"Good luck." Leaf said before leaving

"Hey Boss, is it true that the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, & Champion are coming here?" Meowth asked

"It's true, they come here to watch the tournament every year." Brock said

"Does that happen in every region?" Serena asked

"Sure does." Brock said "Let's take a look around Indigo Plateau."

While they were looking around the Indigo Plateau

"Hey." A voice called out

The gang looked & saw Joe, A.J., a Sandslash, Keith, his Farfetch'd, Todd, Fergus, Corey, & Neesha. Joe wasn't wearing his former school uniform, he was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, & black sneakers.

"Hey, you're all here." Ash said surprisingly

"Sure are." Fergus said

"It's great to see you again." Joe said

"Pikachu." Pikachu greeted Sandslash

"Sandslash." Sandslash greeted back

"Wow, A.J., your Sandshrew evolved." Ash said in amazement

"Yep, & it's gotten a whole lot stronger." A.J. said

While they were hanging out & catching up.

"Hey Todd, are you here to take pictures?" Brock asked

"Yes, watching Ash battle at the Pokémon League Admission Exams gave me so much excitement. It inspired me to take pictures of the competitors' Pokémon at the Indigo League Conference." Todd explain

"So, you wanted to add a little action to your pictures." Serena guessed

"Exactly." Todd said

"What about you, Joe?" Ash asked "I got your letter saying that you were getting better at traveling as a Pokémon Trainer."

"I have, I've been learning & understanding better than I did at Pokémon Tech." Joe said "I only wish I could've done it sooner."

"Do you think Team Rocket were the ones who stole the Pokémon at the school?" Brock asked

"I don't know, but it may be a possibility." Joe said

"Well, you made the right choice in leaving, Joe." Serena said

"Thanks Serena." Joe said

"Keith, I heard that your Pokémon have gotten stronger." Ash said "Does that mean you've been training your Pokémon?"

"Absolutely, a little bit after battling you, Farfetch'd & I encountered a wild Voltorb." Keith said "We were about to battle it, but it was about to use Self-Destruct, so I threw a Poké Ball at it & I caught it."

"Sounded like a close call." Brock said

"Yeah, we almost got blown to bits." Keith said

"Farfetch'd." Farfetch'd nodded in agreement

"Oh, that reminds me." Ash said as he pulled out a Poké Ball "Come on out, Golduck."

Ash sent out his Golduck

"Golduck." Golduck said

"Farfetch'd Far." Farfetch'd happily greeted Golduck

"Duck." Golduck greeted back

"It's good to be reunited with a friend." Neesha smiled

"Yeah, speaking of that, just because we're friends doesn't mean we'll go easy on each other." Corey said

"That's right, cause not only are we friends, we're rivals." Fergus said

"I agree, I'm gonna give my all next week at the tournament." Ash said with determination

"Pikachu." Pikachu said agreed

"That's right." Meowth said

After they departed, the gang went to the hotel where the competitors will be staying. When they got to Ash's room, Brock was explaining the rounds & rules of the tournament

"Alright Ash, In the preliminary rounds of the Indigo Plateau Conference, the competitors must compete on four different battlefields: Rock, Grass, Water, and Ice. You have to use 3 Pokémon in all matches . The battlefield is decided by a game of chance, the opponents are randomly selected by computer. After you win all four battlefields will continue to the Top 16. The Top 16 round like in the preliminary round, you have to use 3 Pokémon. Then from the Top 8 & so forth, the battles are full battles, which means you have to use all 6 Pokémon. If the trainer recalls their Pokémon, or if the Pokémon refuses, or if the Pokémon is unable to battle, it counts as a loss." Brock explained

"I see." Ash understood

"I have some bad news." Brock said

"What's the bad news?" Ash asked curiously

"I can't train with you while I'm here." Brock said

"Why's that Brock?" Serena asked

"Because it's the rules as a Gym Leader." Brock said "As long as I'm here at the Indigo Plateau, I'm not allowed to train with you. I'm sorry."

"It's okay, Brock, I understand." Ash said

"Are you & Serena gonna be okay on your own." Brock said

"Don't worry, Brock, Ash & I are gonna be just fine." Serena assured

"Besides you did continue your duties as a Gym Leader while we were training for the Indigo League." Ash said

It's true, Brock did continue his duties as a Gym Leader while they were at, if Brock had a challenger, he would have his Pokémon teleport him to Pewter City, then he teleport back to Pallet Town where he would train with Ash & Serena when he was done.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door.

"Hm, who could that be?" Serena wondered

Ash answered the door & they saw Mr. & Mrs. Fuji.

"Hello there, kids." Mr. Fuji greeted

"Mr & Mrs. Fuji, we're glad you're here." Ash said as he ushered them in

"Blaine, told that there was something you wanted to talk about." Mr. Fuji said

"There is, we went to the Pokémon Mansion & we found this." Ash said as he pulled out Mr. Fuji's journal "We learned about Mewtwo & before we learned about him, we actually met him in person."

"You met Mewtwo!?" Mr. Fuji said shockingly

The gang nodded

"Please, tell me, is my baby okay?" Mrs. Fuji pleaded with worry

"Well, he wasn't when we first met him." Brock said

"What do you mean?" Mr. Fuji said curiously

The gang told them how they met Mewtwo, how Mewtwo joined & escape from Team Rocket, how he thought they killed Mr & Mrs. Fuji, & how he was planning to create a world with humans. Mr & Mrs. Fuji were horrified.

"When we got to your old mansion at Cinnabar Island, we read the journal & learned about Mewtwo's past & put the pieces of the puzzle together" Ash said as Mrs. Fuji glared at her husband

"Dear, I told you we should've told Mewtwo the truth!" Mrs. Fuji scolded

"I didn't have much time to explain, I didn't know when Team Rocket was gonna arrive & destroy our lives." Mr. Fuji said

"That's no excuse, you didn't even bother to warn him about Team Rocket." Mrs. Fuji said "& because of your actions, our son joined Team Rocket, thinks we're dead, & he nearly destroyed all humanity."

"...You're right, it's all my fault." Mr. Fuji said sadly

"Mr. Fuji what was your purpose in creating Mewtwo?" Brock said

"We wanted to create the world's most powerful Pokémon & we succeeded." Mr. Fuji said

"We know that, but why?" Serena said "What were you planning on doing with him?"

"It's not like we were gonna use him as a weapon like Team Rocket did, Mewtwo was old enough to take care of himself & as a parent I have to let my children go see the world & live their own lives." Mr. Fuji said "As for Mewtwo's purpose, that's something he has to find out for himself."

"But Mewtwo has to know that you two are alive." Ash said

"We agree, if you somehow manage to see him again give him my husband's journal." Mrs. Fuji said

"Also, give him this." Mr. Fuji said as he gave Ash a clear-colored Mega Stone with a light lavender, blue, & light blue S-shaped symbol. "It's a Mewtwonite X, it can mega evolve Mewtwo into Mega Mewtwo X, make sure you give this to him as well."

"Right." The gang nodded

Hey Everyone, so I decided to leave out the "if a Pokémon falls asleep." rule because of Sleep Talk. I was asked if Ash was gonna catch a Lugia at Orange Islands or Johto, my answer is you'll have to wait & see.
