Gringy City

The gang were at a place called Gringey City

"This place is weird," Serena said "It has lots of factories but no people"

"Gringey City used to be a lively place with all the factories around here." Brock said But unfortunately, they went overboard which caused the pollution to ruin the air & water."

"Come on, guys, let's go to the Pokémon Center & get out of here tomorrow morning" Ash said

When they arrived at the Pokémon Center

"They really need to start cleaning up after themselves in this city." Serena said

"That's exactly right." Brock agreed

Suddenly the lights went out

"Oh great, that's exactly what we need." Meowth sulked

"Hey Nurse Joy?" Ash called out

"I'm over here" Joy's voice called out

They entered the medical room & saw Nurse Joy

"This is bad" Joy said with worry looking at the Pokémon in their incubators "If we don't get the power back on, who knows what will happen to the Pokémon"

Then the gang went to Officer Jenny at the station

"I'm trying to find out, but the power plants not answering" Jenny said

"Jenny, where's the power plant?" Ash asked

"It's the big building with the smokestacks." Jenny said "You can't miss it"

They went to the power plant & looked around

"That's weird, why isn't anybody working?" Brock said

"The map says the control room is that way" Serena said looking at a map on the wall

They went down the path to the control room, & suddenly they heard a clattering noise

"Hello?" Ash called out "is anyone out there?"

Just then a Magnemite came out of the air vent

"It's a Magnemite" Brock said

"It couldn't be the one who caused the blackout since it's alone" Serena said

"Magnemite" Magnemite said observing Pikachu

"Pika Pika" Pikachu said sending electrical waves from his cheeks to Magnemite's magnets

"What's Pikachu doing?" Ash said

"He's using his electricity to communicate with Magnemite." Brock said "It's how Electric Type Pokémon communicate with each other"

After a few seconds of communication between Pikachu & Magnemite

"Magnemite" Magnemite said happily

"Pikachu." Pikachu smiled

"I think Magnemite has grown fond of Pikachu" Serena said

"Magne?" Magnemite said as it sensed something

"What's wrong, Magnemite?" Ash asked

Then suddenly another air vent door opened & out came multiple purple sludge-like Pokémon

"What are they?" Serena said holding her nose as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Grimer, The Sludge Pokémon, A Poison Type, Most people dislike the industrial waste created by factories, but Grimer happily feasts on the icky slime. To survive, it has to maintain a certain level of germs in its body

"Magnemite" Magnemite said as sparks appeared on its magnets

"Easy Magnemite, don't just attack" Ash said

Then a bigger Grimer-like Pokémon appeared behind the horde of Grimer.

"Muk" the Pokémon said as Ash scanned the Pokémon

Muk, the Sludge Pokémon, a Poison Type, & the evolved form of Grimer, Muk really stinks, but some Trainers are fond of it, terrible smell & all. Recent efforts to reduce pollution & clean up the environment have also reduced this Pokémon's numbers

"Magnemite!" Magnemite said as it shocked Muk

"MUK!" Muk roared angrily

"Mag!" Magnemite yelped before floating away in fear.

"Poor Magnemite." Serena said with sympathy

"I told it not to attack." Ash sweatdropped

"Uh Boss, I think we better run" Meowth said

The gang ran away from the Grimer & Muk & entered the control room

"Hey, you three, what are you doing here?" One of the plant workers asked

"There's a blackout at the Pokémon Center & you have to turn it back on" Ash panted

"But we can't, the Grimer are clogging the sea water intake." Another plant worker said "We've gotta bring the water to a boil, so it will turn the turbines or the generator won't work."

"What'll we do?" Meowth said

"It looks like we're gonna have to fight them" Ash said "Grimer & Muk are Poison Types, so there weak against Ground Type & Psychic Type moves"

"If we can rid of the Grimer, the generator will work" Brock said

Then the Grimer started knocking against the door.

"Alright, Psyduck, Cubone, Butterfree, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Psyduck, Cubone, & Butterfree

"Psy" Psyduck quacked

"Cubone" Cubone said

"Free Free" Butterfree said

"Go Staryu, Geodude, Gengar" Brock said as he sent out his Staryu & Geodude

"Geodude" Geodude said

"Ha!" Staryu said

"Gengar" Gengar said

"Butterfree, Jolteon, Go" Serena said as she sent out her Jolteon & Butterfree

"Jolt" Jolteon said

"Free" Pink Butterfree said

"Everyone, Ready?" Ash said as the Pokémon nodded

Then the Grimer broke down the door

"Now, Pikachu use Thunderbolt, Meowth use Mud-Slap, Butterfree use Psybeam, Cubone use Bonemerang, Psyduck use Confusion." Ash said

"Geodude use Mud-Slap, Gengar use Psychic, Staryu use Psybeam" Brock said

"Eevee use Mud-Slap, Jolteon use Thunderbolt, Butterfree use Psybeam" Serena said

Pikachu & Jolteon fired bolts of yellow electricity. Butterfree, Pink Butterfree, & Staryu fired streaky blue beams with pink circles in them. Cubone's Bone glowed white & threw it at the Grimer. Meowth, Eevee, & Geodude fired streams of brown mud. & Gengar & Psyduck's eyes glowed blue/violet & released psychic energy from them. Several Grimer got hit by the attacks & suddenly another air vent opened & out came the Magnemite from before along with several Pokémon that looked like 3 Magnemite attached to each other. Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Magneton, the Magnet Pokémon, an Electric & Steel Type, & the evolved form of Magnemite, Magneton is formed when three Magnemite link their bodies & brains together. This triples their electrical power, but their intelligence doesn't get similar boosts.

The Magneton used Thunderbolt on the Grimer horde & chased them away, then the generator started working & the light came back on. But the Muk was still standing.

"I'll take it from here" Ash said "Pikachu use Volt Tackle, Magnemite use Spark, Cubone use Iron Head, Psyduck use Zen Headbutt, Meowth & Butterfree use Aerial Ace

Pikachu became surrounded by golden electricity, Magnemite became surrounded by yellow electricity, Cubone became surrounded by white aura, Psyduck became surrounded by a light blue force field, & Meowth & Butterfree became surrounded by light blue streaks. Ash's Pokémon & Magnemite charged at Muk, then the energy from their attack combined into a multicolored energy & hit Muk which sent it flying into a wall.

"Alright, time to catch it" Ash said as he pulled out black Poké Ball with a yellow H on top

"It's an Ultra Ball," Brock said "A Poké Ball with a higher catch rate than a Great Ball"

"Go Ultra Ball" Ash said as he threw the Ultra Ball at Muk & captured it "I did it, I caught a Muk"

"The Grimer proved that the ocean's very polluted. You'll have to clean up the water around here" Serena suggested

"You're right, we'll do everything we can to make sure the ocean is clean again" Jenny said

"If you clean it up along with the air, Gringy City we'll be good as new" Brock said

"Magnemite" Magnemite said as it approached Pikachu

"Pikachu" Pikachu said as he nudged heads with Magnemite in friendly affection

"I think Magnemite & Pikachu have become great friends" Brock said

"Hey Magnemite, you wanna come along with us?" Ash asked

"Mag" Magnemite nodded

"Alright, go Great Ball" Ash said as he threw a Great Ball at Magnemite & captured it

"Astounding, Ash has caught a Magnemite" Oak said in amazement

Then another one of Ash's Pokémon arrived

"What's this? Another Pokémon from Ash?" Oak said

the Poké Ball revealed to be an Ultra Ball

"Oh, this must have been quite a catch since it's in an Ultra Ball" Oak said in interest as he sent out Muk from the Ultra Ball

"Muk" Muk said

"A Muk? You gotta be kidding me. What's the idea of sending me this Pokémon?" Oak said in dissatisfaction as he held his nose "Bulbasaur, Oddish, Paras"

Ash's Bulbasaur & Serena's Oddish & Paras came to the lab

"Could you be so kind & use Sweet Scent?" Oak said

Bulbasaur, Oddish, & Para filled the lab with a sweet smelling pink powder

"Aah, much better" Oak sighed in relief
