Charmander

The gang were making their way to Vermilion City.

"Hey Rotom, what Pokémon can I catch around here?" Ash asked his Rotom Phone

"This Species is known to inhabit the area." Ash's Rotom Phone said as it showed a picture of Spearow

"Well, I already have a Fearow." Ash said

"According to the map on my Rotom Phone, we're in the middle of nowhere. But it looks like Route 24 leads right to Vermilion City." Brock said looking at his Rotom Phone

"Pika" Pikachu said as he tapped on Ash's shoulder

"What is it, Pikachu?" Ash asked

Pikachu pointed at a big rock & on top of it was a orange lizard with a flame on the tip of its tail.

"It's a Charmander" Brock said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon, A Fire Type, The flame on Charmander's tail tip indicates how the Pokémon is feeling. It flares up in a fury when Charmander is angry.

"it looks in pretty bad shape," Brock said "The flame on its tail isn't burning very brightly."

"Hold on, let me talk to it." Meowth said as he climbed up the rock to Charmander "Hey buddy, whatcha doing here by yourself?"

"Char Char Charmander" Charmander said

"I see" Meowth said as he climb down the rock to the gang "Charmander said it's trainer left it there & told it to wait until he comes back"

"If it's waiting for someone" Brock said "I think we better leave it. It's probably best if it's trainer takes care of it"

"I hope it's trainer comes back for it." Serena said as she left with Ash & Brock

They got to a Pokémon Center before it started to rain

"I hope Charmander's trainer picked it up before the rain started. I'm very worried about it" Ash said with concern

"Me too" Brock said

"What if it's trainer abandoned it?" Serena said with wonder

Then suddenly they overheard a few men having a conversation

"Hey Damian, didn't you have a Charmander" a man asked

"I had one, but it was weak. I had to release it, it couldn't beat the weakest opponents. I left it on a rock in the woods." Damian said "Poor thing was so gullible, it believed me when I said I promised to come back for it. It kept following me, know matter what I did. It's probably still there waiting for me"

"Then why don't you go & get it?" Ash asked walking up to Damian

"Hm?" Damian said as he noticed the gang glaring at him "& why should I"

"You lied to your Pokémon & said you'd be back. Now Charmander's waiting out there in the rain for you & if it's flames goes out, it'll die" Brock scowled

"What I do is none of your business, but if you want to go out & get it yourself, be my guest." Damian said

"Fine" Ash said before leaving with Brock & Serena

Meanwhile, Charmander was still on the rock using a big leaf as an umbrella. The gang picked up Charmander & took it to the Pokémon Center

"Nurse Joy, this Charmander is in bad shape. You have to help it" Brock said

"Alright" Nurse Joy said

While Nurse Joy checked up on Charmander

"This must be the Charmander Damian was talking about. I overheard what he did to this poor thing. No thanks to Damian, Charmander is very weak." Joy said

"Will you help it, Nurse Joy?" Serena asked

"I'll do what I can" Joy assured

After several long minutes, Joy came out of the room

"Charmander is recovering, it should be fine by morning." Joy said

"Thanks, Nurse Joy" Ash said

The next morning, The gang went to the ER to check on Charmander.

"Nurse Joy, How's Charmander?" Ash asked

"Charmander's gone" Joy said

"What? What do you mean it's gone?" Ash asked in shock

"It snuck out & probably went back to its place. I'm sorry." Joy apologized

Ash & Brock thanked Nurse Joy & left the Pokémon Center

"I thought Chamander understood that we cared about it." Serena said

"It does, but it's still loyal to Damian & that's why it went back" Brock said

Suddenly they heard an explosion. They followed the source of the explosion & they saw Charmander surrounded by a flock of fainted Spearow. Charmander looked unharmed

"Charmander" Brock said gaining Charmader's attention "Did you beat all these Spearow by yourself"

Charmander nodded

"Wow, you're very strong" Ash complimented

"I couldn't agree more" A voice said as the gang looked & saw that the voice belonged to Damian

"Damian" the gang said glaring at him

"Hey Charmander, been looking all over for you" Damian said

"What do you want, Damian" Brock asked

"I came back for Charmander just like I promised" Damian said

"Char?" Charmander said in confusion

"Careful Charmander, he already abandoned you once before. He even bragged about how he abandoned you." Ash warned

"Good thing I did, that toughened it up. Besides, what's wrong with dumping off a weak Pokémon?" Damian smirked as Charmander gasped in shock "I wasn't going to come back for it, but now that I've seen what it can do, I'm real glad I ran into you guys. The best thing is I didn't have to raise it myself.

"That's terrible, raising a Pokémon is the best part of being a trainer." Serena said

"Well, it's the most boring part of the job." Damian protested

"You call yourself a trainer? You don't care about Charmander, you just want to use it to win matches" Brock said angrily

"Charmander return" Damian said as he threw a Poké Ball at Charmander

Charmander glared at Damian & hit the Poké Ball away with its tail which caused Damian to get hit in the face by the Poké Ball.

"Ow! Why you little—" Damian said angrily

"That's enough" A voice interrupted

When the Damian & the gang looked, they saw Officer Jenny

"I got a report about what you did to this Charmander. I also heard everything you said. Damian, you're under arrest for Pokémon abandonment & attempted murder." Jenny said

"You'll never take me alive!" Damian yelled

Damian was about to run away, but Charmander & Pikachu knocked out Damian with Flamethrower & Thunderbolt. When Damian was taking away by the cops

"That was a generous thing you did for this Charmander & not only will Damian be going to jail, he will also lose his Pokémon trainer privileges. The Pokémon the Damian caught will be either released into the wild or we can send them to Professor Oak." Jenny said

"Sending them to Professor Oak is a great idea," Ash said "but what about Charmander?"

"Well, if you want, you can take in Charmander as your own." Brock said "You kept the flame on its tail lit. I'm sure you'll raise Charmander to become a great Pokémon."

"What do say Charmander? Wanna become a part of the team?" Ash said

"Charmander!" Charmander happily nodded

"Go Poké Ball" Ash said & he threw a Poké Ball at Charmander & caught it

Hey Everyone, for the one who asked me if Bulbasaur was gonna evolve in this story. Yes, Bulbasaur will evolve in this story. In case anyone asks, yes Charmander will still be obedient to Ash when it evolves into Charmeleon & Charizard like in the I Choose You Movie.
