Celadon City

The gang arrived at Celadon City

"Celadon City carries the most famous perfumes made by Erika the Celadon Gym Leader." Brock said "Erika's a teacher of flower-arranging, people call her the Nature-Loving Princess. She uses Grass Type Pokémon, you can defeat her by using Fire, Bug, Flying, Poison, & Ice Type Pokémon"

"Ash, can we please go to the perfume store before we head to the Gym?" Serena said

"Sure, I don't see why not." Ash said

When they went to the perfume store

"Brock, It's so good to see you" a lady at the cash register said

"Hey, Tamia, is Erika here?" Brock asked

"Yes, I'll go get her" Tamia said as she left to get Erika

Tamia came back with a young woman with black hair, gray eyes, a red hair band, & a light green kimono with a long red skirt(based on the outfit from Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee)

"Brock, I'm so happy to see you" Erika said

"You too, Erika." Brock greeted "How's business going?"

"It's going splendidly." Erika said as she noticed Ash & Serena "Who are they?"

"These are my friends, Ash & Serena" Brock said

"Hi Erika, I'm Ash from Pallet Town & these are my partners Pikachu & Meowth" Ash introduced

"Pikachu" Pikachu greeted

"Hi, pretty lady" Meowth greeted as Erika smiled & blushed

"I'm Serena from Vaniville Town & this is my partner Eevee" Serena introduced

"Eevee" Eevee greeted

"Ash is here for a Gym Battle but first we're here to look at the perfume around here, if you don't mind" Brock said

"Of course not, feel free to purchase anything you like" Erika said

While they were looking

"Hey Brock, I don't understand why women wear perfume" Ash said

"Shhh, don't say things like that" Brock shushed as he covered Ash's mouth

"Why not?" Ash muffled as Brock removed his hand

"Listen Ash, Erika's assistants are very touchy about what people say about her perfume?" Brock whispered

"But all I said was that I didn't understand why women wear perfume." Ash whispered

"I know that, but they might start getting the wrong idea." Brock whispered "You see, Erika's assistants kept banning challengers from gym battles, just because the challengers didn't like her perfume. Erika noticed that she hadn't been getting less challengers, but that was until the PIA came to the gym. The PIA told her that they've been receiving a lot of complaints from trainers about the situation. That's when Erika found out that her assistants have been banning challengers from competing in her gym behind her back & that almost ruined the gym's reputation. Luckily, Erika took care of the situation, but still we need to be careful, if you still want that gym battle, Ok?"

"Whatever you say" Ash said

Ash & Brock each purchased a perfume for their moms & sent them by post & Serena bought one for herself, one for her mom, & one for her friend Shauna & sent them by post.

"Guess I'll see you at the gym?" Ash asked

"Mm-hm" Erika nodded "& just because you're a friend of Brock's doesn't mean I'll go easy on you."

"I could say the same to you" Ash said as he left with Serena

"Better watch out, Erika." Brock warned "He can be something else when it comes to battles"

"What do you mean?" Erika asked with curiosity

"You'll see" Brock said as left

The gang arrived at the gym & when they entered, it looked like a greenhouse filled with Grass Type Pokémon. Ash & Erika went into battle position on the battlefield

"The battle between Ash the challenger & Erika the Celadon Gym Leader will now begin. This is a 3 on 3 battle, & the battle will be over when either side's Pokémon is unable to continue. Only the challenger is allowed to substitute Pokémon" Tamia announced

"Go Tangela" Erika said as he sent out a Pokémon tangled in blue vines with red feet

"Tang" the Pokémon said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Tangela, the Vine Pokémon, A Grass Type, If grabbed by an attacker, Tangela can break away & leave the foe with a handful of vines. The vines grow back within a day.

"Mankey, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Mankey

"Mankey!" Mankey said

"Huh?" Erika said in confusion

"He's using a Fighting Type against Erika?" Lori said in confusion

"That's an interesting choice if you ask me" Mary said

"This is Mankey's first gym battle" Serena said

"Yeah, Ash probably wanted to use Mankey because of his fighting spirit" Brock said

"Are you ready for this Mankey?" Ash asked

"Mankey" Mankey said with determination as he turned his hat on backwards

"Battle begin!" Tamia said

ASH VS ERIKA

"Use Stun Spore" Erika said. Tangela released a sparkling orange powder from its body

"Use Dig to dodge" Ash said as Mankey dug underground & avoided the Stun Spore

"Now come out & use Karate Chop"

Mankey came out of the ground with its hand glowing white & karate chopped Tangela

"Grab it with Vine Whip" Erika said. Tangela released two vines from its body & grabbed Mankey's arms with them

"Now, reel it in with Constrict"

Tangela spun around & reeled in Mankey, but he stood his ground & was getting dragged in slowly

"Hang in there, use Screech" Ash said.

"Mankey!" Mankey screeched as he released red soundwaves from his mouth which caused Tangela to let go

"Use Sleep Powder" Erika said

Tangela released a blanket of light green spores from its body. Ash just smiled

"Mankey, stay where you are." Ash said as Mankey stood still

"What?" Erika thought in confusion "Why would he let his Pokémon take that?"

Mankey got hit by the Sleep Powder, but he didn't seem fazed by it

"But how?" Erika said in shock "Mankey should be dozing off after it got hit by Sleep Powder."

"Yes, but there's one thing you don't know." Ash said "Mankey's Ability is Vital Spirit, it prevents him from being inflicted by sleep. Use Aerial Ace"

Mankey became surrounded by light blue streaks & tackled Tangela with great speed which caused it to faint

"Tangela is unable to battle, Mankey wins." Tamia declared

"I'm impressed with how you battled my Tangela with your Mankey." Erika complimented as she returned Tangela "I admit that it was my mistake to have Tangela use Sleep Powder. But now it's time to get serious, Go Weepinbell"

Erika sent out her Weepinbell

"Bell" Weepinbell said

"Mankey return" Ash said as he returned Mankey "Cubone, I choose you!"

Ash sent out his Cubone

"Cubone" Cubone said calmly

"A Ground Type? Is he joking?" Kay sweatdropped

"That's certainly a big mistake" Lori pointed as Serena & Brock just stared

"Hm, Ash, you know that Ground Type Pokémon are weak against Grass Type Pokémon, do you?" Erika said

"I know that, but I didn't choose Cubone because it was a random selection." Ash said "I chose Cubone because I wanted to. Besides, I have faith in Cubone & I believe in him"

"Bone" Cubone said in agreement

"He's actually right," Brock said "He did defeat my Rock Type Pokémon with Meowth & Pikachu."

"& that's the way Ash is," Serena said "he believes in his Pokémon & has faith in them"

"Cubone, use Focus Energy" Ash said

"Cubone" Cubone said calmly as he glowed orange

"Weepinbell, use Razor Leaf" Erika said. Weepinbell fired multiple green glowing leaves from its leaves

"Use your bone." Ash said. Cubone twirled his bone to defend himself from the attack & broke the leaves apart

"Now, use Flamethrower." Ash said. Cubone twirled his bone again & shot fire from it. Weepinbell got hit & fainted

"Weepinbell is unable to battle, Cubone wins" Tamia declared

"I can't believe that Cubone knows Flamethrower" Mary said in shock

"Now, I know that I shouldn't judge a Pokémon by its Type" Kay said

"Wow, that was amazing" Serena said surprisingly

"Hey Meowth, did Cubone learned Flamethrower from Charmander?" Brock asked

"Sure did" Meowth nodded

"You sure don't play around" Erika complimented as she returned Weepinbell "Go Gloom"

Erika sent out a blue bipedal Pokémon with a flower with spherical petals surrounded by four reddish brown leaves on its head, there was also drool hanging from it mouth

"Gloom" the Pokémon said as Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Gloom, the Weed Pokémon, a Grass & Poison Type, & the evolved form of Oddish, Gloom doesn't always smell terrible—when it feels safe & relaxed, its aroma fades. However, its nectar usually carries an awful stench.

"Cubone, use Fire Punch" Ash said. Cubone's fist became engulfed in flames & charged at Gloom

"Boss decided to have Hitmonchan & Haunter teach the others Fire, Thunder, & Ice Punch. As a result of that, Pikachu learned Thunder Punch, Charmander learned Fire & Thunder Punch, Squirtle learned Ice Punch, Cubone learned Fire & Thunder Punch, & Clefairy learned Fire, Thunder, & Ice Punch." Meowth explained

"Doesn't he use the TMs he has?" Serena asked

"Sometimes he does." Meowth said

"Gloom" Gloom said as it sprayed its smell

"Cubone?" Cubone stopped as it got a whiff of the smell & fainted

"Cubone is unable to battle, Gloom wins" Tamia declared

"Cubone return" Ash said he returned Cubone "Mankey, I choose you!"

Ash sent out Mankey again

"Mankey" Mankey said

"Use Aerial Ace" Ash said

Mankey charged at Gloom with Aerial Ace, but he was stopped by the smell that he got a whiff of & fainted

"Mankey is unable to battle, Gloom wins" Tamia declared

"Mankey return" Ash said as he returned Mankey "Haunter, I choose you!"

Ash sent out his Haunter

"Haunter" Haunter said

"Now he's using a Ghost Type against Erika" Kay said

"This battle keeps getting interesting by the minute" Lori said

"I think using Haunter is a great idea, since he's part Poison Type, Gloom's Grass & Poison attacks won't be very effective" Brock said

"I'm counting on you, Haunter. So let's do our best." Ash said

"Haunter" Haunter nodded

"Use Will-O-Wisp" Ash said. Haunter launched a pink, light blue, & dark blue fireball from his hand & hit Gloom which caused it to get burned

"Gloom, use Moonblast" Erika said. Gloom fired a pink orb of energy from its mouth & hit Haunter

"Haunter, use Smog" Ash said. Haunter released a thick gray smoke from his mouth which covered the battlefield

"Gloom, blow it away with Petal Dance" Erika said. Gloom spun around & released bright glowing pink petals which blew away the smog, but Haunter was nowhere to be seen

"Where'd it go?" Erika said

"Gloom? Gloom?" Gloom said looking around

"Haunter" Haunter said sinister as he appeared behind Gloom

"Gloom!" Gloom shrieked startlingly

"Use Ice Punch" Ash said. Haunter's fist became surrounded by icy blue aura & punched Gloom. Gloom slowly got up, but received some damage from burn

"Use Mega Drain" Erika said. A medium sized ball of light green energy formed on Gloom's head which shot a beam & hit Haunter causing some of his energy to get drained.

"Haunter, let's wrap this up with Hex" Ash said

"Haunter" Haunter said as his eyes glowed purple & red, then he created a sphere of black energy with a red eye in the middle. The eye released multiple dark blue rings of energy & hit Gloom causing it to faint.

"Gloom is unable to battle, Haunter wins. So the winner of this battle goes to Ash the challenger" Tamia declared

"Alright Haunter" Ash cheered

"Haunter" Haunter said happily as he gave Ash a thumbs up

"Hex doubles the damage when the opponent has a status condition" Brock explained

"Ash certainly knows how to come up with a good strategy" Serena complimented

"You gave me an excellent battle, Ash." Erika complimented "Brock told me that you were something else & he wasn't lying. I certainly didn't expect your Mankey, Cubone, & Haunter to know super effective moves."

"Well, that's the result of training" Ash said

"As Gym Leader of the Celadon Gym, I present you the Rainbow Badge" Erika said as she gave Ash a flower-shaped badge with rainbow colored petals

"Alright, I just got the Rainbow Badge" Ash cheered as he held up the Rainbow Badge

"Pikachu!/That's right!/Mankey!/Bone!/Haunter!" The Pokémon cheered

"& here's a TM21 containing the move Mega Drain" Erika said as she gave him a Grass Type TM

Unbeknownst to them, a man with short periwinkle blue hair, green eyes, wearing a dark blue tuxedo with a black necktie, & black shoes & a woman with long dark pink hair tied up in an inside out ponytail bun, blue eyes, wearing red lipstick, a dark red short sleeved shirt, white pants, & black high heels had been watching Ash's fifth gym battle.

"He certainly has grown up, hasn't he?" The man said

"Mm-hm, & he has turned out to be a great trainer" the woman agreed

"Should we go say hi to him?" the man asked

"Let's just wait for him outside" The woman suggested as she & the man exited the gym

I find it stupid that Erika refused to give Ash a Gym Battle, just because he insulted her perfume, I mean how trivial is that? Erika should've known that it was her job as a Gym Leader to accept gym battles no matter what, otherwise it could probably ruin her reputation as a Gym Leader.
