Bruno

The gang were at Mt. Hideaway with only three week until the Indigo League. During their training, they decided to evolve their Pokémon by using Ash's evolution stones. They asked their Pokémon if they wanted to evolve & they were ready & wanted to evolve, except Ash's Jigglypuff & Serena's Gloom & Vulpix. Jigglypuff wanted to stay as a Jigglypuff, Gloom didn't want to evolve into a Vileplume, & Vulpix didn't want to evolve just yet & Ash & Serena understood & Brock decided not to evolve his Vulpix. So by using the evolution stones, Ash's second Pikachu evolved into Raichu, Clefairy evolved into Clefable, Vulpix evolved into Ninetales, Growlithe evolved into Arcanine, & Exeggcute evolved into Exeggutor. Serena's Nidorina evolved into Nidoqueen, Nidorino evolved into Nidoking, Staryu evolved into Starmie, & Shellder evolved into Cloyster. Brock's Staryu evolved into Starmie & Weepinbell evolved into Victreebel.

"So Brock, why did you want to come here to Mt. Hideaway?" Ash asked

"The fertile soil here on Mt. Hideaway makes the Onix grow larger in size & I'm planning on catching a giant Onix myself." Brock said " Now, let's go find that giant Onix."

The gang searched & searched until

"Grooooar!" A voice roared as it belonged to a giant sized Onix

"Wow, that's the biggest Onix I've ever seen." Serena said surprisingly

"Now's my chance, Go Onix!" Brock said as he sent out his first Onix.

"Grooooar!" Brock's Onix roared

"Onix, use Iron Tail." Brock said as his Onix's tail glowed white & hit the giant Onix.

The Giant Onix fired Flash Cannon & hit Brock's Onix

"Are you alright, Onix?" Brock asked

"Groar." Brock's Onix nodded

"Serena let's help out." Ash said

"Right." Serena said

"Pikachu, use Splishy Splash." Ash said

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said as a surfboard appeared underneath him, then he summoned a huge tidal wave with sparks of yellow electricity in it & hit the Giant Onix which caused it to become paralyzed.

"Eevee, use Bouncy Bubble." Serena said

"Eevee!" Eevee said as she fired a huge bubble & hit the Giant Onix.

"Use Helping Hand on Onix." Ash & Serena said. Pikachu & Eevee placed their hands on Brock's Onix which caused him to become surrounded by golden aura

"Onix, use Heavy Slam." Brock said

"GROOOOAR!" Brock's Onix roared as he became surrounded by silver aura & tackled the Giant Onix hard which caused it to collapse

"Go Ultra Ball!" Brock said as he threw an Ultra Ball at the Giant Onix & caught it

"Alright, I did it!" Brock exclaimed happily

"Congratulations Brock." Serena said

"Thanks, & thank you for your help Ash & Serena. You too Pikachu & Eevee" Brock said gratefully

"No problem Brock, that's what friends are for." Ash said

"I think I'm gonna give my newly caught Giant Onix a nickname." Brock said as he pulled out his Rotom Phone & scanned his Giant Onix

"Really, what are you gonna name it?" Ash asked

"It's says my Giant Onix is male, so I'm gonna call him "Goliath"" Brock said

"That's a fitting name for him." Serena complimented

"Nice catch." A voice said

The gang turned & saw a shirtless tall muscular man with black hair styled in a thick ponytail & black eyes, wearing white trousers with a tattered waist and ankles that are held up by a black belt, shirtless and black wristbands on his wrists. The man also had a Key Stone on his left wristband.

"Hey, I recognize you, you're Bruno of the Kanto Elite Four!" Brock exclaimed

"Indeed I am, who are you?" Bruno asked

"I'm Ash & this is my partner's Pikachu & Meowth." Ash said

"Oh, so you're Red's little brother, I've heard all about you from Red." Bruno said

"I'm Serena & these are my partners Eevee & Togepi." Serena said

"& I'm Brock, big fan." Brock said

"Hm, it's a pleasure to meet you." Bruno smiled

"So, what brings you here?" Ash asked

"Mt. Hideaway is where me & my Pokémon train. It's also where I caught my Onix." Bruno said

"Hey Bruno, Uncle Silver once told me that you used to be an Elite Four member of both Kanto & Johto." Ash said

"That's true." Bruno said

"What was being both a Johto & Kanto Elite Four member like?" Serena said

"It was hard, but thankfully my place as a Johto Elite Four member was taken." Bruno said "Anyway, I was impressed with how you battled that Giant Onix. Would it be alright if I battled with you three?"

"You wanna have a battle with us?" Ash asked surprisingly

"Yes, I would like to see more of your potential in battling with your Pokémon." Bruno said "Will you accept my challenge?"

"Yeah." The gang said

Ash & Serena let Brock go first since he was a big fan of Bruno. Brock & Bruno went into battle position & Ash acted as the referee.

"Go Onix!" Brock & Bruno said as they sent out their Onixs

"Groooar!" Both Onix roared

"Battle begin!" Ash said

BROCK VS BRUNO

"Onix, use Dragon Breath" Brock said as his Onix became surrounded by light blue energy & fires a blue beam of energy from its mouth

"Use Dragon Pulse." Bruno said as his Onix fired a multicolored dragon-shaped beam of energy from its mouth which dissipated the Dragon Breath & hit Brock's Onix

"Use Rock Polish" Brock said as his Onix sparked with light blue energy

"Now Double-Edge."

Brock's Onix became surrounded in streaks of white aura & charged at Bruno's Onix

"Use Screech." Bruno said

"Groooooar!" Bruno's Onix screeched as he released red soundwaves from its mouth which caused Brock's Onix to stop & wince.

"Now, Stone Edge"

Bruno's Onix slammed its tail on the ground causing light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground towards Brock's Onix

"Quick, Use Dig." Brock said as his Onix dug underground & avoided the attack, then he came out of the ground & tackled Bruno's Onix

"Onix, use Earthquake." Bruno said as his Onix slammed its tail on the ground causing an Earthquake & hit Brock's Onix

"Use Flash Cannon." Brock said as his Onix fired a white and light blue beam from his mouth & hit Bruno's Onix

"Use Heavy Slam." Brock & Bruno said. Both Onix became surrounded by silver aura & clashed with each other which caused an explosion. When the smoke cleared, both Onix had fainted.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, it's a draw." Ash declared

"You were great, Onix. Return." Brock said as he returned his Onix

"Come back, Onix." Bruno said as he returned his Onix & turned to Ash & Serena "Who's next."

"Go ahead, Serena." Ash said " I have to make a call anyway."

"Ok." Serena said as she went into battle position with Bruno & Brock acted as the referee.

"Go Machamp." Bruno said as he sent out his Machamp

"Machamp." Machamp said as it flexed its muscles

"Go Eevee." Serena said

"Eevee." Eevee said as she stepped forward

"Your Eevee is your choice, eh?" Bruno asked

"Yes, I know Machamp is strong against Eevee, but Eevee's strong." Serena said

"We shall see." Bruno said

"Battle begin!" Brock said

SERENA VS BRUNO

"Eevee, use Quick Attack" Serena said. Eevee became surrounded by light blue aura & charged at Machamp

"Machamp, Low Kick." Bruno said. Machamp kicked Eevee which caused her to stumble back

"Use Work Up." Serena said

"Eevee!" Eevee said as she became surrounded by light red aura

"Use Focus Blast." Bruno said. Machamp fired an orb of yellow energy from his hands

"Use Iron Tail." Serena said. Eevee's tail glowed white & sent the Focus Blast back which hit Machamp

"Use Cross Chop." Bruno said. Machamp arms glowed white, crossed them in an X formation & charged at Eevee

"Use Double Team." Serena said. Eevee glowed white, created multiple copies of itself & avoided the attack.

"Now, Shadow Ball."

Eevee & her copies fired black & purple balls of shadow energy from their mouths & hit Machamp.

"Vital Throw." Bruno said. Machamp's arm glowed yellow, then it grab the real Eevee & threw her into ground

"Use Buzzy Buzz." Serena said. Eevee became surrounded by sparks of yellow electricity, fired a jolt of electricity & hit Machamp which caused it to become paralyzed. Bruno just smiled

"Uh Oh." Ash said in concern

"Uh Oh is right." Brock said, knowing what's gonna happen

"MACHAAAAAAMP!" Machamp yelled as its eyes glow red and became surrounded in crimson aura

"What's going on?" Serena said

"Machamp's Ability is Guts, it boosts its attack power when it's in a status condition." Bruno said "Now, use Brick Break."

Machamp's hand glowed bluish white & punched Eevee.

"Eevee, are you alright." Serena said worriedly.

"Eevee." Eevee said as she got up

"Guess I have no choice." Serena said "Ready Eevee?"

"Vee." Eevee nodded as she glowed in a gold color with light yellow sparkle around her.

"Machamp, use Focus Punch." Bruno said. Machamp's fist glowed orange & charged at Eevee

"Use Veevee Volley." Serena said. Eevee charged at Machamp like a meteor & both Pokémon clashed each other which caused an explosion. When the smoke cleared, they both had fainted.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, it's a draw." Brock declared

"You were great Eevee." Serena said as she picked up Eevee. "Take a good long rest."

"Return, Machamp." Bruno said as he returned his Machamp & turned to Ash "You're up last, Ash."

"Right." Ash nodded

"Which Pokémon are you gonna use against Bruno, Ash?" Brock asked

"You'll see." Ash said.

"MOOOOOLT!" A voice screeched

They looked up & saw Moltres.

"Wait, is that?" Bruno said wide-eyed

"Moltres." Ash said as he ran up to Moltres who landed on the ground.

"Hello Ash, it's wonderful to see you again." Moltres greeted warmly

"You as well, Moltres." Ash said he petted Moltres.

"Brock, Serena, does Ash know that Moltres?" Bruno asked

"Ash doesn't just know him, that Moltres is actually one of his Pokémon." Serena said

"What? You mean that's his Moltres?" Bruno asked shockingly

"Yes, Ash caught it a couple of months ago." Brock said

"So, you must be the famous Bruno of the Elite Four." Moltres assumed

"I am, it's an honor to meet you." Bruno bowed respectfully

"Are you here to battle with Ash against Bruno, Moltres?" Serena asked

"Indeed, I am" Moltres said

"I called Moltres before Serena & Bruno's battle started." Ash said as he turned to Moltres "Are ready for our first battle together?"

"Yes" Moltres said

Ash & Bruno went into battle position

"Y'know, It's not everyday an Elite Four member like me gets to battle a Legendary Pokémon. So, it will be a first experience for me. Go!" Bruno said as he sent out a snake-like Pokémon made of iron with red eyes, large, wide jaw with sets of large square teeth inside, & a cross-shaped scar under its right eye.

"Steel!" The Pokémon roared

"Who's that Pokémon?" Serena said surprisingly

"It's a Steelix." Brock said shockingly

Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Steelix, the Iron Snake Pokémon, a Steel & Ground Type, & the evolved form of Onix. Steelix lives deep underground & can tunnel straight down more than half a mile below the surface. It is thought its body transformed as a result of iron accumulating internally from swallowing soil.

"The evolved form of Onix?" Ash repeated

"This is the same Onix I caught here on Mt. Hideaway, I decided to evolve it into Steelix when I became a member of the Johto Elite Four." Bruno said

"That would make sense since Steelix are usually found in the Johto Region, right?" Meowth said

"That's exactly right." Brock said

"Let's go, Moltres." Ash said

"Molt." Moltres cawed in determination

"Battle Begin!" Brock said

ASH VS BRUNO

"Get ready, Steelix." Bruno said

"Steel." Steelix nodded as it lifted up its head showing a neck holder with silver Mega Stone with a blue, sky blue, & light gray S-shaped symbol in it

"Now, Mega Evolve." Bruno said as he touched the Key Stone which shined in a white light

Steelix glowed bright red orange & mega evolved into Mega Steelix

Mega Steelix's body has become longer, almost doubles its mass, and gained more features. Mega Steelix's eyes had turned blue and its lower jaw became more heavily armored with a round, curved shape. A third pair of ridges had appeared on its bottom jaw, as well as two sharp, flat structures consisting of three conjoined projections on each side. The gray, rock-like spikes and its tail point had transformed into prism-like crystalline spikes; the segments from which the spikes protrude are much larger as well. In-between the head and individual spiked segments are smaller units, now adorned by a black spot with a blue hexagon on each side. Several metallic-looking scraps are constantly rotating around its neck.

"Moltres, use Heat Wave." Ash said. Moltres released an orange gust of wind with a flap of his wing & hit Mega Steelix

"Steelix use Protect." Bruno said. Mega Steelix summoned a turquoise shield & protected itself

"Now, use Rock Slide."

Multiple glowing rocks appeared around Mega Steelix, then it launched them at Moltres

"Use Agility to Dodge." Ash said as Moltres dodged the attack at fast speed

"Now, use Flamethrower"

Moltres shot fire from his beak & hit Mega Steelix

"Use Flash Cannon." Bruno said. Mega Steelix fired a white and light blue beam from his mouth & hit Moltres.

"Use Sky Attack." Ash said. Moltres became surrounded in orange and gold sparkling aura & charged at Mega Steelix

"Use Aqua Tail." Bruno said. Mega Steelix's tail becomes surrounded in swirling water & clashed with Moltres which caused an explosion

"Now Stone Edge."

Mega Steelix slammed its tail on the ground causing light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground & hit Moltres.

"Moltres, use Roost." Ash said.

"Mooooolt!" Moltres cawed as he became surrounded by white feathers & healed himself a little

"Use Sandstorm." Bruno said. Mega Steelix spun around & created a sandstorm.

"Use Burn Up."

"MOOOOOOOOLT!" Moltres screeched as the flames on his wings & tail grew larger and glowed bright yellow & orange & charged at Mega Steelix

"Steelix, Heavy Slam." Bruno said.

"STEEEEEEL!" Steelix said as it became surrounded by silver aura & charged at Moltres.

Both Pokémon clashed with each other & made a huge explosion. When the smoke & Sandstorm cleared, they were both panting heavily. Several seconds later, they both fainted & Mega Steelix reverted back to its previous stage.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, It's a draw." Brock declared

"Moltres, return." Ash said as he returned Moltres.

"Return Steelix." Bruno said as he returned Steelix. "We should get to the Pokémon Center."

At the Pokémon Center

"Bruno, Ash, Serena, Brock, you're Pokémon are completely fighting fit, we hope we see you again." Nurse Joy said.

"Thanks Nurse Joy." Ash said gratefully

When they went to a clear area.

"Moltres, come on out." Ash said as he sent out Moltres.

"Molt." Moltres cawed

"Are you feeling better?" Ash asked

"Yes Ash, I'm perfectly fine." Moltres said

"The three of you have battled well, I have seen a lot of great potential in you, especially you Ash." Bruno said "Keep up the good work, & one day, the three of you will go far with your Pokémon."

"Thanks Bruno." Ash said

"I have to go, Ash." Moltres said

"I take it, you're going back Mt. Ember, right?" Ash assumed

"Yes." Moltres nodded

"Sorry to bother you with all this." Ash apologized

"You have nothing to apologize." Moltres assured "Whether if it's a battle or trouble, I'll always be there to aid you whenever you need me."

"Right, see you later, Moltres." Ash said

"It was nice seeing you again." Serena said

"Yeah, & I hope we see you again soon." Brock said

"We will, goodbye & good luck." Moltres said as he flew back to Mt. Ember

"We have to get going as well, there's only three weeks until the Indigo League." Ash said

"It was nice meeting you, Bruno." Brock said

"& thank you so much for battling us." Serena said

"You too, & I'll be seeing you at the Indigo League." Bruno said

After the gang left, Bruno pulled out his Rotom Phone & called someone

At the Indigo Plateau, a short old man with long white hair, a long white beard, wearing a red shirt with a light blue stripe, khaki shorts, & brown shoes was sitting at the Indigo Stadium.

You have a call from Bruno

"Bruno, how are you?" The old man said

"I'm doing fine, I ran into three interesting trainers here at Mt. Hideaway." Bruno said

"Interesting you say?" the old man asked

"Yeah, I battled them recently & they have great potential." Bruno said

"Oh really? Show me." The old man said

Bruno had recorded his battles with Ash, Serena, & Brock with his VS Recorder App. The old man watched recordings of the battles Bruno sent him & he was amazed.

"Wow, I'm certainly impressed with these trainers, especially with that boy Ash since he has a Moltres." The old man said "Will he be competing in the Indigo League Tournament this year?"

"Yes." Bruno said

"Good, I can't wait to see him in action." The old man said "This year's tournament is certainly going to be interesting."

Hey Everyone, I'm sorry if you thought I was gonna have Ash evolve Jigglypuff, but the truth is, I didn't feel comfortable having Jigglypuff evolve. Besides I don't think Jigglypuff would want to evolve in the anime, but that's just my opinion. Don't worry, Ash will get a Wigglytuff & I know I said Ash will get a Persian, you probably thought Ash will get the Persian from the Hollywood chapter, but don't worry he will get a Persian, just not that Persian. I was gonna have Brock & Serena lose against Bruno, but I decided it wouldn't be fair so I decided to make it a draw. Also I have an announcement, Sorrel will be traveling with Ash through Unova.
