Neuvillette was sitting across from Furina, still remembering their conversation when Furina had asked permission to perform at Opera Epiclese.

Neuvillette was taking a break from the backbreaking and tear-jerking thing known as paperwork when Furina had approached him.

"Looks like I was right, Aether! There he is," he heard the joyful voice of Furina.

"Lady Furina," he said turning to them with a smile.

"I knew you'd be here," she said as she and the traveller approached him.

"I was here for a short break. It has been a while Miss Furina. And you too traveller. However, I do not see your floating companion with you. I must say, that is quite a rare sight."

"Oh you know her, whenever food is involved, she never misses the opportunity. She's with the troupe. Oh right, Neuvillette, may I ask you a favour?" said Furina excitedly, though adding the last part in a slightly curt tone, while Traveller just nodded with a smile.

"Of course Lady Furina."

"Well, first of all, please drop the lady, part, I am not the Archon anymore. Also, I would like to book the Opera Epiclese for an event. You see..." She went on to explain the whole scenario that led to it, as Neuvillette patiently listened to it with a smile.

"I see. Uhm, well, the process for booking the Opera Epiclese can be complex and somewhat cumbersome... seeing that the request is coming from you too, I do not wish to make it unduly difficult. The story of the 'Little Oceanid' is quite fascinating, and I am looking forward to watching it being performed on stage..." he said to them, before turning to Furina.

"I will say, however, that I am surprised to see your passion for performing rekindled after everything that happened," he said making her smile proudly.

"Of course. After all, I have to give it my all since my witness is watching," she said with a grin, looking at Traveller who blushed slightly.

"This is the first time I've seen you like this from your departure from deityhood," Neuvillette said, his tone warmer than usual.

"Heh, of course. You wouldn't expect Furina de Fontaine to be moping around forever, would you?" she said in an over-the-top tone, similar to her time as an Archon, before she and Aether burst into laughter, and even Neuvillette chuckled.

"But seriously, working on this performance helped a lot. I'm very excited about it you know." She then turned to Aether and said " Plus it's kinda hard to be sad around the Legendary Traveller you know," with a teasing smile.

"With that, I'll wholeheartedly agree, Lad- Miss Furina," Neuvillette said in an amused and slightly smug tone, further teasing Traveller, who just blushed.

"S-stop it you both," he said, looking away, as Neuvillette, with his heightened senses noticed his pulse quickening.

He looked at Furina and Aether with a smile as Furina continued to tease him.

'This is a new side of both Traveller and Lady Furina I saw today. Is this what humans call love?'

Back to the present, a few hours ago, Furina had approached the receptionist at his office, asking to meet Neuvillette.

"Um, hello, can I meet Neuvillette?" she asked the Melusine at the desk who said "I'm sorry, Iudex Neuvillette asked to not be disturbed, since he is busy with paperwork," before she looked at her and her eyes widened.

"I-I'm sorry Lady Furina. You can go in," she said pointing at his office as Furina looked surprised.

"I thought you said he was busy," she said, as the Melusine smiled.

"Well, no one is too busy for you, Lady Furina. After everything, the least we can do is to make time for you. Plus Iudex said that whenever you or Traveller come, we have to let you go in regardless of the situation."

Right, after the whole prophecy thing was over, Neuvillette had told the whole Tevyat what Focalor's plan was. Though not going into detail, he did mention what Furina had to do, causing the majority of the public to come to respect her. Not to mention, the play she directed had caused her popularity to increase even more.

"A-ah, thank you, I really appreciate that," She said with a smile as the Melusine nodded and pointed her to the room.

When she knocked and entered once Neuvillette gave her permission, she saw him buried nose-deep in stacks of papers.

"Uh... what's happening Neuvillette?" she asked, concern lacing her voice.

"Ah, Miss Furina. nothing, I was just getting done with the paperwork," he replied as he got up with a sigh.

"Nonono, I remember I never had that much paperwork. How did you segregate it?" she asked as Neuvillette looked at her confused.

"... You did separate the people's request from the Official documents right?"

"Ah yes, I did do that. While I may be inexperienced in handling the work as the Leader of the Nation, I did do my job as the Iudex, so I am not completely a novice," he said, his tone not changing much.

"Alright, so did you separate the official documents into External Affairs, Large-scale construction and Rebuilding permits and licenses, Military and police Affairs, Internal Diplomacy Affairs, and Misc? Or arrange it in the order of priority?"

"..."

Furina sighed with a knowing look, before saying, "I came here to see if you were free and talk to you, but I guess I'll have to help you with this first."

"Huh? No, I couldn't possibly as-"

"Neuvillette. Let. Your. Senior. Guide. You." she stated in a tone that told him she wouldn't take a no for an answer.

'I forgot how stubborn she could be...' he thought as he hesitantly nodded.

She then walked to the desk as he followed her, and they spent the next hour sorting and arranging the document, while Furina told him the tips and tricks to get through it faster.

"Miss Furina, I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for this. The paperwork that was plaguing me for days seems doable now... though I am sorry for making you do this after everything," he said, regretting it a little. But Furina just chuckled.

"Don't worry about it Neuvillette. I was free anyway. I mean, these days, Traveller and Paimon constantly visit me and cook, or take me out to eat. Honestly, he puts in way too much effort," she said with a fond smile before shaking her head.

"Eh, as I was saying before daydreaming about him, since he's always helping me, I have way too much free time on my hand with nothing to do. Since Traveller was on a long commission right now, I was free. So it's not really a big deal, this is a good use of my time. After all, I can flex my skills in front of you," she said cheekily, making Neuvillette chuckle.

"I see. Though I must say, I've heard that you daydream about the Traveller a lot," he said, referring to the time he asked Clorinde about how Furina was doing. According to her, Furina talked a lot about the Traveller,

This statement caused Furina to blush as she yelped.

"N-no I don't!" she said, flustered as Neuvillette raised his eyebrow, bemused. 'So this is the joy of teasing Miss Navia was telling me about.'

"I see... of course you don't. I suppose the times that you asked me the Traveller's whereabouts before he came to Fontaine were all my illusions. Not to mention how you talked my ears off about his latest accomplishments mentioned in Steambird. Or asked me on how you should act towards him aft-"

"ALRIGHT ALRIGHT! I get it, Neuvillette. Geez, never knew you could tease too. Fine, I do talk about him a lot. But can you blame me?" she said with a pout.

"Ah, of course not, how can I blame a maiden in love," he replied with the faintest of smirks humankind had ever seen. Had Furina not known him, she'd completely miss it. But that didn't stop her from blushing even further as tears of embarrassment formed in her eyes.

"S-shut up! Stop teasing me about my feelings for him!" she whisper-yelled, as he raised his eyebrow, this time out of surprise.

"I expected you to deny that, Miss Furina," he said, slightly impressed as she looked away, still pouting.

"... My apologies for teasing you Miss Furina. How about I thank you for your help with the newest creation of Cafe Lucerne's creation, a Bulle Fruit and Valberry Clafoutis?" he asked as she brightened immediately and nodded.

Sup everyone, so here's the first two chaps of this book.

Now I know, I am not updating for a while, but here's the thing, I just was not in the right mind, and I had writer's block.

Now I am getting ideas again, but it will take some time cuz I need to reread my books to be sure of the plot. Meanwhile, I needed to get the writing part of my brain back into the game, so I am writing this fic.

Like seriously, she's too good of a character. Extremely well written and stuff.
