The World's Power
(Where ever Dio is)
" Shit, it's dark in here, Can't see a thing. "
Hol Horse was walking through Dio's dark mansion looking for the Lord himself. It was dark, and he couldn't see, but that didn't stop him from walking and insulting the man who could kill him in seconds.
" Where is that bastard anyway? "
Hol Horse reached into his pocket and pulled out his lighter. He flicked it on and looked at his surroundings. He was standing in front of a staircase that had gold railings on the edges.
" It's the middle of the day and I still have to feel my way around this hovel. This had better be worth it. Okay, if I remember correctly, I'll find Dio over in that room. "
Hol Horse lit a cigarette and turned to the right, leaving the staircase. As he walked, he used his lighter to see the surroundings, but he didn't look at the floor. His foot hit something, making him stop and look down. He shone the light from his lighter to the floor and saw a woman lying on the cold floor, dead. There were two holes on the side of her neck where something had been inserted.
" Ugh, disgusting. This little lady must have been one of Dio's left overs. "
He looked further ahead and saw two more dead bodies lying on the ground. Hol Horse kept walking, and he shut his lighter. He walked into a library filled with books and candles with blue flames on their wick. He glared at the darkness, but the glare disappeared when a smooth voice was heard.
" Hol Horse. What is it?"
Hol Horse turned around, but he couldn't see anyone behind him or in front of him. He couldn't pinpoint Dio anywhere. He looked up and spotted the vampire on the shelves of books looking down at him.
" It's Master Dio. "
Hol Horse felt the air leave his lungs, and he was having a hard time breathing. Dio floated down to the floor from the bookshelf and went to grab a book from the shelf in front of him.
" I'll ask you again, did you want something, Hol Horse? "
" Ah, uh, well- yes actually. There's something I thought you outta know. I received intel that two of the nine great gods, Mariah and Alessi, have been put out of commission. "
Dio stood in front of the bookshelf, looking for a certain book as he listened to Hol Horse. His eyes spotted the red spine of the book he was looking for. He took the book from the shelf and blew the dust off the spine.
" And your point is? " He asked, opening the book.
" Well, there's more! We've got trouble coming. Turns out Joestar and his gang will arrive in Cairo tomorrow. The lady is sick, apparently from the long journey. And only three of the nine gods are left.
" It seems you've misunderstood my question. I want to know what you're going to do, Hol Horse. " Dio said, turning around and shutting the book.
Hol Horse shivered from the man turning to him. He took in his appearance quickly and noticed the three moles on his ear—the mark of the devil's luck.
" You seem to have been caught rather off guard. I simply wish to know when you're going to kill them, Hol Horse. While it's true you've pledged your allegiance to me, you have yet to adequately prove yourself in battle. "
Dio put his book down and reached toward Hol Horse.
" In this day and age, any simpleton can deliver information. Twice you've failed me and here you are crawling back. "
Hol Horse was scared out of his mind as Dio's hands got closer and closer to his face. He didn't want to die, and he certainly didn't want Dio to suck him dry of his blood. Dio took the cigarette out of Hol Horse's mouth and put his other finger against it, burning the skin and putting out the cigarette. He burned both of his pointer fingers.
" You couldn't know this, but my body once belonged to a man by the name of Jonathan Joestar. Jonathan was the grandfather of Joseph Joestar. Look closely. Notice how the left finger heals at a slower rate than the right? "
Dio turned and grabbed a green book off the shelf.
" The left side of this body is weak. Which proves that it doesn't completely belong to me yet. And that I am not, yet, immortal. I am ill-equipped to fight with Joestar and his friends."
Dio walked to the couch and sat down. The material underneath him was soft and comfortable. He folded his leg over the other and opened the book to start reading.
" Now then, if there is nothing else, run along and destroy my enemies on my behalf. Failure will most assuredly result in your untimely demise. "
Hol Horse struggled to breathe, but when he gained his composure back, he had an idea. Why fight the Joestar group when Dio was right in front of him and wide open? This question caused him to summon his stand in his hand and pointed the pistol at the back of Dio's head.
" Is there a problem? You seem to be hesitating. "
Hol Horse didn't answer but pulled the hammer of the pistol back, getting it ready to shoot.
" Are you positive you want to go through with shooting me? "
Hol Horse flinched, and after he blinked, Dio was gone, and he wasn't on the couch anymore. The green book he was reading hit the soft cushions, and dust gathered around it.
" He's gone. "
He was wrong; Dio was behind him with a smirk on his lips.
" Fascinating. As you prepared to fire your breathing was relaxed. You didn't even perspire. you were composed, very impressive Hol Horse. "
Dio turned away and walked away from the library, leaving Hol Horse to wonder how Dio had gotten behind him so quickly and without breaking any of the spider webs. He was at a loss, and his composure left him as sweat appeared all over his face. Dio walked away from the library and to another part of the mansion he was in.
' So, my love is sick. She was never one that did well with the heat, so she must be miserable. I hope she won't over-exert herself before she gets here. '
Dio reached in his pocket and pulled out a picture. The picture was in black and white, but it was all he needed to keep him sane until you got there. It was a picture of you and him together. One day George wanted to have photos taken of everyone together. So, they took a group photo and then individual photos. Dio specifically requested one of you two and the photographer obliged. Now the small picture was with him. You were standing in front of him, and he had his arms wrapped around your waist. He was smiling a genuine smile at the camera while you were also smiling brightly at the photographer. Your arms were on top of Dio's, and the picture turned out beautifully.
" You're so close, yet so far. My dear, I wish you were here beside me already. "
Dio put the photo back in his pocket and continued on his way.
