Play music when it says.

   ' This is how it has to be. ' You thought.

You closed your eyes and sighed, feeling your adrenaline pick up and the sadness leave your heart. You were preparing to let him go.

   " Dio-"

Your mouth was stopped from moving, and from finishing your sentence. Your eyes were wide with surprise but soon fluttered shut. The warmth on your lips made your toes tingle. Dio had turned around and kissed you. His hands went to your face and caressed your cheeks. The kiss was full of love and his lips felt like they fit yours. You kissed him, back and it didn't feel like sparks, they felt like fireworks. It was a kiss that took more than a century to happen. Dio slowly pulled away but kept his face close to yours. Your noses were touching and both of your hearts were beating rapidly in your chests.

   " I won't let go of you. Even when you must let go of me. "

   " I have to let you go. "

   " I know. I know you do, but remember I will always love you. I have for many many years and I don't ever intend to stop. As you let me go, I wanted to have one thing I haven't been able to have ever since we met. Your lips with mine. Now, it's time we say goodbye and for you to let me go. I won't say goodbye, however, because I know once this is all over I will have you in my arms once more. "

   "Dio. . ."

   " Yes, my love? "

   " Why? Why does it have to be this way? Why can we not just leave and live our lives away from all of this? I-I love you. . .but I have to kill you. . ."

   " Love-"

   " Dio, you always say there's something in the way of me giving my heart to you, and you're right, but it's not Jotaro or Kakyoin. It's you. "

Dio felt surprised at your statement. He was curious about what you meant, that he was between your love. He couldn't understand it. He had always given you his heart, but to him, it was like you never gave him yours, but it was just as you said. He was in the way.

   " At first it was about money. You wanted the Joestar fortune for yourself, and you wanted to kill Jonathan. Then you rejected your humanity, and you found a new goal, to rule the world. It's the same goal now, and you're putting that above everything. Even our connection. "

   " But, I-"

   " But nothing, Dio Brando if it's true that you've put our love above everything even above your desire to rule the world, then prove it. Because right now, it's looking like you care more about being successful than your love for me. "

Dio didn't know what to do. His mind was screaming that you were wrong, but his heart was also screaming how right you were. Vanilla Ice, heard Dio's call and left the battle with Avdol, Iggy, and Polnareff. The three were confused but proceeded with caution into the building. Vanilla Ice appeared beside Dio, and he bowed.

   " Of course my lord. "

   " Then do it. "

Dio covered your eyes, as Vanilla Ice sliced his head off. Dio whispered for you to keep your eyes closed, and you did. When you opened your eyes again, Dio's head wasn't on Jonathan's body anymore, and it was on Vanilla Ice's. Dio started drinking the blood of Vanilla Ice, and he drank all of Vanilla Ice's blood. Dio stood up, and the body started to change. Vanilla Ice's body color changed to match that of Dio's skin. You didn't feel a burning sensation on your birthmark anymore, and the feeling was gone.

   " This way I have no connection to the Joestars. I believe the one known as Holy, should be healed in a matter of hours since I left Jonathan's body. "

   " Dio-"

   " My love, close your eyes again. I'm going to change into some more fitting clothes. "

You closed your eyes and waited for Dio to get done changing. You could feel the breathing aura of three people coming up the stairs. You knew it was Polanreff, Avdol, and Iggy.

   " I'm finished. "

Vanilla Ice's clothes were gone and instead, Dio wore formal clothes, that reminded you of the way he dressed in the 1880s. He put a red cape around him and clicked the clasp under his neck to connect the cape together. The body, was now Dio's since he drank Vanilla Ice's blood, and the red line on his neck was barely there. Dio's new body resembled the one he had a long time ago before he went under the sea. 

   " My, love let us be off. "

   " What? "

    " Let us go. If we're going to do this I don't want to stick around and hide. "

You stood from the bed and walked towards him. He was only a head taller than you now.

   " We're actually doing this? "

   " Yes, You said for me to prove it to you and I will. I will give it all away for you. Now, please wrap your arms around my waist. I plan on making a run for it, but I can hear the heartbeat of three beings coming closer. I assume it's Avdol, Iggy, and Polnareff. "

   " Yeah, it's them. "

   " I you could, my love, pretend to be knocked out. I'll carry you bridally instead. "

   " Okay. Please be careful and don't harm them. "

   " I won't. Be confident in me. "

Dio picked you up, off the floor, and walked to the door. He stood in front of the door taking a  deep breath and letting it go. He was really going to do it. He was going to leave the power he had and Jonathan's body behind, all for you. He couldn't believe what he was doing, and he couldn't decide if what he was doing was smart. It clearly wasn't but he couldn't lose you. He looked down at your face and then back at the door. He knew he made the right choice. Dio opened the door and walked out. You laid limp in his arms as he walked down the hall. He would run when the three got closer, but he wanted them to see him take you limp. That way they wouldn't think bad about you when they couldn't find you. He heard their footsteps get closer, and the sun was still in the sky, It hadn't set yet. Dio passed the stairs and he heard their footsteps halt. Dio looked down the stairs and saw the three of them at the base of the stairs.

   " It's Dio! And he has Y/n! " Polnareff shouted.

Polnareff was about to charge up the stairs to get you out of his grasp, but Avdol stopped him.

   " Polnareff, wait! We don't know why he's suddenly shown himself, and we still don't know the secret of his stand. "

   " I know, but look at Y/n. She's unconscious! "

   " He wouldn't hurt her. We both know that. Let's be smart about this. We still have Vanilla Ice to deal with. "

Dio scoffed at their words and summoned his stand. The World froze time and Dio continued to walk past the trio. He knew the other three would join soon enough, and he would have to escape the mansion before they could reach you. The problem was that he was still a vampire and the sun was still outside on the horizon. It had not yet set. 

   ' It seems the sun is always against me. '

Time had resumed and he walked towards the stairs to get to the tower. He would hold up in there until the sun was gone, and then he would escape with you. He was calm as he walked, and he looked down at your face once more. You were asleep. 

   ' How precious. '

Dio got to the top of the tower and saw his coffin. The blue candles were lit at the tops of the coffin, and he could hear the rapid pace of footsteps. It wasn't just a set of three but six, including the paws of Iggy. Dio sat on the edge of his coffin, and he continued to hold you in his arms. The footsteps stopped, and Dio looked up to see the stardust crusaders in front of him. He put his finger to his mouth.

   " Please do be quiet. She is sleeping. She's lost a lot of energy already. "

   " Dio. . ." 

   " Joseph Joestar, the grandson of Jonathan Joestar. "

   " That's right. And you-you've stolen his body. "

   " How is your daughter, Holy was it? "

   " She's dying thanks to you! "

   " I don't believe she is. " 

Dio took the cape off and pulled the back of his shirt down, revealing no Joestar birthmark. Everyone was shocked, that the star birthmark was no longer there. Dio fixed his shirt and clipped his cape back on.

   " I've given Jonathan's body up. You can find it in one of the rooms. The body I have now is Vanilla Ice. I drank his blood so it is now my body. "

   " Why would you give up Jonathan's body? Didn't like the feel of being in your archnemesis's skin? "

   " I simply, knew it would break ties with you Joestars. "

The Stardust Crusaders seemed stunned by his answer. It was clear that he gave up Jonathan's body because there was no birthmark, but it left them wondering why. Jotaro and Kakyoin's eyes were focused on your figure in his arms. You were still asleep, in his arms, and you weren't stirring.

   " Joseph, have you ever been in love? " Dio asked.

   " Of course, I have. Why do you ask? "

   " If you have then you know my feelings toward Y/n. I realized that I was putting my own desire of ruling the world above her. I recognized this and I dealt with it accordingly. "

The World appeared and smashed the window in front of Dio's coffin. Outside of the mansion, it was dark. The sun wasn't in the sky anymore, and the sun was gone from the horizon. The crusaders cursed themselves in their heads, and now they felt the need to escape before Dio killed them, but he had no intention of doing so. Dio stood from the edge of the coffin and walked towards the window. The stars were bright but the lights of the city were bright as well, and they kept some of the stars from appearing. Joseph felt on edge seeing Dio in front of him, with you in his arms. Joseph even questioned why he wasn't attacking the vampire right now.

   " And I will never put myself above her again. Unitl death do us part. "

Dio jumped out of the window and flew towards the ground. He landed on his feet and stood straight up. He looked up at the window and saw the crusaders, leaning out of the window looking after him.

   " Goodbye, Joestars. Hopefully for the last time. "

Dio started flying away, at a powerful speed. The Crusaders jumped out of the window and followed Dio. He still had you, and it unsettled them. Dio was fast, however, he flew from building to building until he reached what humans called a car. He got in and drove away, hoping to make it far away from the ones chasing him. He even stopped time as much as he could, so he had more time to get away. 

( Time Skip )

   " Love? "

   " Love? "

   " Wake up for me. "

Your eyes fluttered open and you sat up on the seat you were laying in. Your eyes looked around and you were in a parked car. Dio was sitting to your side, and the door behind him was open. The sky was a navy blue, with stars spotted all over it. 

   " We're here. "

   " Here? "

   " Our new home. "

Dio grabbed your hands and pulled you, gently, out of the car. You stood on the grass and looked up at the house. There was a path that went towards the house and rounded back on itself. In the middle of the loop was a fountain. The house was two stories, and it sat in the middle of a clearing with trees around the edges of the clearing. The house looked like a simple manor, that was abandoned. 

   " Where are we? "

   " I took us away from Egypt and traveled North I lost the Crusaders on the way, so they shouldn't meddle in our business. I wanted to find a place that resembled the Joestar manor a bit, and this was the best. "

   " It looks abandoned. "

   " It is. I checked, and I found the deeds to the property inside. Whoever left the home wanted to make sure the deeds were left too. "

   " How convenient. "

   " Shall we go inside? "

   " We shall. "

We started walking to the manor, and before I could walk up the stairs Dio grabbed my hand and helped me up the stairs.

   " A woman should never be unaccompanied. It is ungentlemanly to let a woman walk on her own. "

   " You always say that line. Even when we first met. "

Dio smiled at the memory, and we walked to the top of the steps together. Dio opened the doors to the manor and the lights were off. There was furniture in the house, but it was covered with white sheets that had piles of dust on them. It looked like the dust had been there for years and it was damaging the sheets.

   " A little dusting and it should be fine. "

   " Agreed. I've blocked all of the windows so the sun may not burn me to a crisp. I know you're tired, so let's clean the bedroom first and sleep. "

   " Hmm, maybe later. Let's start cleaning now that the moon is up. When the sun comes out we can rest. "

    " You're acting like a vampire, but you're not one yet. "

   " For you, its best if we work now. "

Dio nodded and grabbed some old lanterns, trying to light them. You grabbed a broom and started sweeping the floor. The dust seemed to collect together, so it wasn't a hassle. You swept the floor, without leaving any dust behind, and Dio lit the last of the lanterns. He placed them all around the room you were cleaning, and he took the sheets that were on the furniture off and put them in a corner to be cleaned later. When he was done taking all of the sheets off the furniture he looked over at you sweeping and felt a smile on his lips. You swept all of the dust in the center of the room, and you took a break to stretch your arms. Arms snaked around your waist and pulled you into a firm chest. 

   " My, love. . ."

   " Yes, Dio? What is it? "

   " Absolutely nothing at all. I love calling you mine. "

   " Well, if you don't mind, I need to keep sweeping. "

   " No, you don't. "

Dio took the broom from you and tossed it to the other side of the room. He kept both of his arms wrapped around you and kissed your neck. He rested his chin on your head and you leaned against him. Everything seemed at peace like two puzzle pieces had come together. They fit perfectly. It felt right to be in Dio's arms and to let your feelings be known. Because now you had your Dio back. The one who talked to you about his mother's death, who cared for you, and made sure you never stood alone. You had your Dio back. You turned around in Dio's arms and hugged his waist. You were happy that he was back, and that he wasn't planning to let greed overtake him. Dio hugged you back with absolute certainty over the situation.

   " Y/n, look at me. "

You looked up at Dio, and one of his arms moved from your waist and held the side of your head. You were both smiling at the other. Dio leaned down and encapsulated his lips with yours. Fireworks went off, and you could feel the connection between you two. You kissed him back and rested your arms on his chest. It wasn't just one kiss, but multiple. Dio would kiss you and then leave your lips to only meet them again. Finally, Dio disconnected from your lips, but let your noses touch. 

   " It took so long for us to be together. "

   " Destiny is weird, isn't it?" 

   " We were meant to be, it just had to take some time. "

You gripped his shoulders and brought your lips to his. He smirked in the kiss, and his hand traveled to the back of your neck. The love that was shared between you both blossomed, and your hearts felt at ease. There was however one issue, and Dio wanted to take care of it. Dio pulled out of the warm kiss and stopped time. When you blinked you found yourself in a bedroom. It was cleaned and there was an old lantern on the bedside table. You figured Dio stopped time and cleaned the room, before starting time again. Dio pushed your shoulders and you sat on the bed. Dio kneeled in front of you and held your hand between both of his.

Start music now.

   " My love, I have one issue that I want to bring to you. "

   " What is it? "

   " My love, I am a vampire. I am eternal while you are not. This means you will die, but I won't if I don't step into the sunlight. I want to ask you if it would be alright if I turned you. Because I cannot live without you. "

   " This sounds like a marriage proposal. "

   " What if it is? What if I want to be with you forever, in eternity? I want to stay by your side and love you until the sun burns me to dust. So what would you say if this was a marriage proposal, and that I would turn you into a vampire like myself, so we can be together forever? To say you have my whole heart in your hands, and that it will always be with you, while I hold yours in my palms. "

All of the memories with Dio came rushing to your head, and you replayed all of them. Sure you were always on the opposing side, but it didn't stop him from caring about you, asking if you were okay, and showing you love when he could. He never stopped loving you, and he did get sidetracked by the power he wielded, but he threw that away just to show you he loved you. Everything he worked for, he threw it away for you, and he beat destiny so he could be with you.

   " I would say, yes. "

Dio's eyes were sparkling and he felt happy beyond belief. Dio kissed your hand over and over again, and he held your arm as he looked into your eyes.

   " I'll get you a ring on another day. "

   " I don't mind. "

   " You've just made me the happiest person in the world. "

   " I would hope so, marriage forever is something you don't hear that often. Usually people grow old and die together, but we won't die. "

   " It'll take you some getting used to, but you'll be like me, where you can handle it. Sometimes you won't even need to drink blood. "

Dio rose from the floor and towered over you. He picked you up, off the bed, and placed you back on it, but you were lying down. Dio laid beside you and kissed your forehead.

   " It's going to hurt a bit. I'll be putting my blood into your body. "

   " Trust me, I've gone through enough pain, I'll be fine. "

Dio connected your lips and kissed you deeply. Your arms moved around his neck, and he tilted his head, deepening the kiss. Dio moved from your lips to kissing your neck. He placed butterfly kisses along your skin until he found the spot he wanted to mark you. He kissed the spot, before putting his fangs in your neck. You winced a little bit, but the pain wasn't unbearable, you've had worse. You could feel Dio's blood going into your body, and his hands wrapped around your torso. Dio took his fangs out of your neck and licked the spot. He looked you in the eyes telling you it was done.

   " In a few moments you'll be like me. "

   " It's funny to think we've known each other over a century, and now we're opening a new chapter, after all that time. It's hard to believe. "

   " It is, but it's been a long time coming. "

Dio turned you over, and your back was laying on top of the sheets. Dio hovered over you, with a smile and a glint in his eyes.

   " I can finally call you mine, Mrs. Brando. "

   " And we can be there for each other, like we used to be, Mr. Brando. "

   " I love you. "

   " I love you too. "

Dio kissed your lips and you kissed him back, wrapping your arms around him. The temperature in the room escalated quickly as you both embraced the new chapter ahead of you. It wasn't easy, but now you two were together. A lot of things had to be given in order to find your happiness. Maybe this is what destiny or fate had in plan. The original destiny was for the Joestars to fight evil and to take it in a bizarre way, through an adventure. Their protector would follow them, and make sure they lived, no matter what happened. Even if they fell in love with the enemy, and had to kill them. But Fate brought you both together again, so maybe it was all planned. All that was important was that you were free, and you were with the one you loved, with nothing stopping your love for him. Or his love for you.

Maybe it's possible to defeat destiny.
