The Job
"I'm worried about him, he's not okay in here." Dark admitted as he paced around the confined cell he shared with Mark, lightly tapping the side of his head.
"He's crazy?" Mark asked, seeming unsurprised.
"No...he has a tendency to hurt himself." Dark sighed worriedly, running a hand through his black hair in exasperation.
"Does he..." Mark trailed off.
Dark seemed to know what he was thinking and nodded.
They both fell into an awkward silence for a couple of moments before Mark had an idea.
"Just pretend that you're willing to rejoin his group, then get us out of here!" Mark suggested.
"Oh that won't work, even though movies seem to disagree with me." Infelix overheard them, stopping in front of their cell.
"But, I will let you out." Infelix declared as he produced a single bras key from his pocket with a flourish before inserting it in the lock and turning it until it made a loud click, unlocking the cell.
Dark and Mark eagerly pushed the door open and shoved past Infelix, starting to run in what they hoped was the right direction until they ran into something large and covered in fur.
The creature had dark brown fur along it's spine and large claws on its feet and hands.
"Sin." Dark growled in recognition, remembering when Anti was forced to create him.
"Meet your surprise and my newest recruit, Sinnamon T. Ken, or Sin for short." Infelix beamed, patting the creature on the arm.
Sin only grunted in response, glaring at Dark and Mark with beady black eyes that were narrowed with what Dark suspected was either suspicion or hunger.
Probably both.
"You two be good while I get Anti and Jack." Infelix instructed before walking back the way they had came, returning with the two in a couple of minutes.
Anti tried reaching for Dark, but was blocked off by Sin. He stepped in between the two pairs and growled menacingly, most likely a warning sound.
"Dark-"
Anti was cut off when Sin swiped his large fur covered arm at him, hitting him square in the chest. He flew back and hit the corner of the hallway with his head, causing his vision to spin momentarily, black spots dancing in his vision.
No no no, I can't pass out now!, Anti thought as he tried to fight the black dots to stay awake and help the others.
He didn't succeed.
"Anti!" Dark screamed, fear gripping his heart like an icy fist.
Sin turned away from Anti and decided to go for Mark, charging towards him.
"Mark!" Amy yelled in relief as the coaches and her friends ran up to them much to Dark's surprise as confusion that he decided he would figure out later.
Mark's attention flicked over to her for a brief moment, giving the beast enough time to crush Mark against the wall with his back.
Jack quickly ran to his aid, managing to distract the beast enough to make it move, allowing Mark to drop to the floor. He gasped for air as he dropped to the floor, Amy and Smith running over to help him up.
He nodded in appreciation, attempting to run back to the fight but was stopped by Amy's gentle yet firm grip on his arm.
The two officers joined the fray, chasing the creature as it rampaged through the halls. Dark and Jack took their charge as an opportunity to retreat, covered in sweat and out of breath.
Jack was nearly knocked to the floor when Signe ran up and hugged him tightly. His chest screamed in pain, but he ignored it, glad to be back with Signe.
Dark had walked over to the unconscious Anti and gently kissed his forehead before he delicately lifted him up in his arms, carrying him bridal style with Anti's head resting on his shoulder
"They're gone." Officer Jeremiah panted as he jogged back with Officer Jerry.
"They both just...disappeared." Officer Jerry huffed with a hint of irritation in his tone.
"Who are you two?" Dark asked.
"Officers Jeremiah and Jerry." The two cops introduced themselves.
"We should go then." Amy cut in, wanting to be back on the surface as soon as possible.
They all nodded in agreement and attempted to use the elevator, only to find the same screen the monitors had when they were hacked.
"I guess we're going back up the fun way." Officer Jeremiah grumbled under his breath as he climbed in top of the elevator and helped the others up before grabbing onto the cables.
Dark had Anti carefully draped over his shoulder, occasionally adjusting him to make sure he stayed somewhat comfortable.
Signe held Jack's hand the entire time since he was afraid of heights, constantly reminding him to look ahead and not down.
They practically flopped onto the ground once they reached the surface, finally breathing fresh air for the first time in what felt like says to them when in reality they had been underground for only a couple of hours.
The press swarmed them, but thankfully the officers managed to form a blockade and keep them at a distance from the group as they walked outside, dismayed to find even more news vans and reporters with giant cameras flashing at them with every move they made.
Officer Jerry and Jeremiah brought the group back to the hotel to prepare for the trip back home since the competition had been cancelled due to the recent events that had occurred.
Dark took Anti to their room and tucked him in bed after bandaging his arms while he packed everything up, constantly checking on him.
"Dark?" Anti called out softly, wincing in pain due the the ache in his entire body.
"Don't you dare scare me like that!" Dark demanded as he rushed over to Anti and enveloped him in a gentle hug.
Dark pulled back when his phone vibrated, showing him that he had a message from everyone except Mark and Amy.
"Everyone's wanting to meet up at Mark's room." Dark stated as his eyes scanned the text.
"Sounds good." Anti smiled weakly, struggling to get up.
"C'mere babe." Dark laughed as he scooped Anti out of bed, laying him down on his feet and helping him walk down the hall.
Felix, Marzia, Signe, and Jack were already waiting for them outside Mark and Amy's door with sympathetic smiles towards them before knocking on the door.
"Guessing you guys heard the news too?" Mark stepped aside, allowing them inside.
Jack nodded quickly, perching on the edge of Mark's bed.
"What news?" Dark interjected.
"YouTubers are getting paid again!" Marzia squeaked in excitement.
"We have to leave today." Signe chimed in.
"I'm kinda glad honestly." Anti admitted, carefully pressing a hand against the wad of bandages on the back of his head that was suppose to heal the cut he received when his head hit the corner.
"I'm gonna miss you guys." Dark added.
The others muttered their agreements, their mood seeming to drop.
"I just wanted to say goodbye, we have to get back to packing." Jack sighed as he stood up and hugged everyone goodbye before reluctantly going back to his room with Signe.
Dark and Anti were the next to leave since Anti wasn't in the best of shape, leaving Felix, Marzia, Mark, and Amy alone as Dark grabbed their suitcases and drove down to the rental car place, dropping off the van before taking a cab to the airport.
However the flight wasn't relaxing as the plane rose up into the sky, leaving Finland behind.
They still had the job to do, and they knew Infelix wouldn't let them free until it was done.
