The Jinchuuriki Alliance (Naruto Fanfic) Chapter 20 - Preliminaries Pt 2

Three battles had passed and Naruto was tired of waiting for his match. The battles that had just finished were:

Moka of Taki vs Kenpachi of Iwa; This fight was interesting, Kenpachi turned out to be wild and rowdy like Kiba, but more calculating and focused (and less stupid.) Moka was a ninjutsu user so she used as many jutsus and techniques to hold him off, but in the end, she couldn't. Kenpachi won with a sharp claw to Moka's stomach.

The next fight again Miharu of Taki vs Kaoru of Kiri. Miharu was on Moka's team and was also a strong ninjutsu user, his element was earth, so he destroyed one of the walls to get an upper hand and use the earth there. But unfortunately, Kaoru was a Genjutsu user. The clown markings on Kaoru's face wasn't only for decoration, he used cards to cut up Miharu's skin and cast him under the Genjutsu. He didn't stand a chance; winner of that fight? Kaoru of Kiri.

The third fight was Jumonji of Iwa vs Sena of Kumo. While Jumonji was a ninja who used his strength to fight while Sena was a Taijutsu user who used his quick speed to work around and tire Jumonji out. Jumonji was a strong fighter, but he was just fighting against the wrong person. Winner: Sena of Kumo.

Naruto was bored, he was entertained for the battles but as soon as they ended, the adrenaline rush had ended and he sighed again.

"Keep sighing like that and your soul will escape." Sakura raised an eyebrow and giggled.

"Really? That would be a good idea." Naruto slouched and exhaled.

Sasuke scoffed. "Well, hopefully you will be entertained now." He smirked.

Sakura grinned, "Look at the board!"

SASUKE OF KONOHA vs AKANE OF KUMO

Naruto grinned, "Ah! Sasuke's next! You should try to win~"

Sasuke rolled his eyes, "Why am I paired up with a girl?"

The Uchiha then heard a cracking of knuckles behind his back and slowly turned to face Sakura's angry face. "Something wrong with being paired up with a girl?"

Sasuke blinked a couple of times and then shook his head furiously, "No Ma'am."

Sakura smiled at him with closed eyes. "Good. Now, hurry along, win the match and don't go easy on her."

As the pink haired girl turned around to talk to Fuu, Sasuke and Naruto shivered and sweatdropped. "She's scary."

"Damn straight."

Sasuke nodded and then turned to proceed to walk down the stairs to meet his opponent.

Akane was a girl with fiery red hair and blue eyes, she obviously wielded a katana as her hand was firmly on top of it with narrowed eyes.

"Prepare to lose Sasuke." She said simply.

Sasuke barked out a laugh, "You think you can beat me? An Uchiha? That's doubtful."

Akane smirked, "An Uchiha? Who cares about the Uchiha? I'm an Uzumaki, you can't beat me."

Naruto blinked from above them and hit the railing. "Hold up- an Uzumaki?!"

Sasuke frowned and looked at Naruto, "I thought the Uzumaki's were all dead, except for my friend there."

Akane's eyes widened. "What? Your friend is an Uzumaki? Where is he?"

Hayate coughed and made their heads snap towards him in surprise.

"I'm sure all of this... can wait until later. Are both competitors ready?"

Sasuke and Akane both nodded and got into fighting positions, heads buzzing as they found out that; in Sasuke's case, the Uzumaki weren't all dead and Naruto actually does have family, and in Akane's case, that she has family and is not an orphan.

They both were not completely focused on the match.

Sasuke stood over Akane's unconscious body and wiped away the dirt and sweat from his brow, he breathed a sigh of relief as Hayate called that he had won the match.

"I won." He muttered and watched as Akane's body was taken away into the medical facility on a stretcher.

He felt kind of bad for beating up the only family Naruto had at the moment right after they found that they had the same distinct surname, after all, Uzumaki wasn't exactly a common name, so the chances of them being related were about 95%.

As Sasuke walked back up the stairs, he was congratulated by his teammates- well, except one.

"Where's Naruto?" Sasuke asked with a slight idea where the whiskered boy was.

Sakura smiled, "Where do you think?"

Sasuke scoffed, "Obviously where the girl is."

Sakura just nodded with a grin.

Naruto sat by the redheaded girl in silence, just calmly staring at her face and features. She was a beautiful girl, clear, porcelain skin and her red hair lay framing her face.

"Staring at someone while they sleep is creepy. Didn't your parents ever tell you that?" Naruto snapped out of his trance and stared while Akane looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Ah, sorry. My parents died when I was born, so they couldn't teach me anything." Naruto replied with a small and sad smile.

Akane gave a look of understanding and slowly attempted to sit up, groaning a couple of times as she finally sat in an upright position. "For what it's worth, I never knew my parents either, ouch, my side is killing me."

Naruto nodded, "Sasuke did punch you pretty hard, the doctor said you have a cracked rib, don't push yourself too much."

"Mmm, he was pretty good." Akane let out a sigh. "I was too cocky, how embarrassing."

"Aren't we all?" Naruto tilted his head. "But I do think the Uzumaki's are pretty awesome."

Akane glanced at him and grinned, "You're his Uzumaki friend, aren't you?"

Naruto shrugged, "Maybe, would I be sitting here if I wasn't?"

"Fair enough." Akane raised the side of her mouth in a half grin. "What's your name?"

Naruto raised his hand and held it out for her to shake it. "Naruto, Uzumaki Naruto. Nice to meet you."

Akane stared at his hand and then raised her own to grasp it in her hand, shaking their hands in a calm and firm motion. "Nice to meet you Naruto, I'm Uzumaki Akane."

They stared at each other for a couple of seconds, thoughts running through each of their heads, minds whirling and flipping over in different emotions.

'I have family.' Naruto thought.

'We're family.' Akane confirmed.

They both smiled. 'We're not alone.'

"I should go outside and check on the match right now." Naruto told Akane. The redheaded girl nodded and looked towards the door.

"Keep me in the loop about whose going through, my teammate Sena got through so I want to make sure I know who's got through." Akane said.

Naruto nodded, "Sure." He waved goodbye and walked out of Akane's hospital room.

A lot of things were going through his head right now. He had just found out that he wasn't the last of his family, if his family was a clan, then that would just be crazy. Because why would someone from his close family be living all the way in Kumo?

He knew that his mother was named Uzumaki Kushina, but if she was from a clan...?

Naruto shook his head quickly and sighed, he didn't have the time and resources to think about this right now. He walked to the stadium and looked over the railings.

"Sakura's against some guy from Kiri, called Haru." Sasuke informed Naruto as he stepped towards the railings.

Sakura had improved dramatically from her fangirlish ways, but it was clear that Haru was on another level than her.

Haru was from the same team that Akihiko and Kaoru were from, the Kiri team. He had orange hair and a skull on his shirt, and was only scratched a couple of times while Sakura was on the ground.

"Shit, she looks like she's in a lot of pain." Naruto cursed.

Sasuke nodded, "That Haru guy just pulled a couple of ninjutsu and punched her a couple of times, he's pretty strong. All of his team has gotten through to the finals."

Naruto stole a glance at Haru's teammates, Akihiko and Kaoru, who were just smirking at Naruto like they knew he would look at him. Naruto sighed. 'Maybe I do need their protection, I don't want to admit it though.'

Naruto jutted his bottom lip out. "That sucks. Why couldn't all of us get through?"

As Sakura was taken to the medical centre, Haru had gotten up to the area where all of the teams were.

"Oh! It's going to be me! Who will be my opponent?" Naruto looked around, scanning for anyone who hadn't competed yet. He didn't find any. "Oh kami."

"What?" Sasuke tilted his head to the side.

"I have no one to fight. That means I'll get the 'BYE'!" Naruto held his head and slammed it against the railing, cursing his ignorance and belief that everything will go smoothly.

'Told you that you were an idiot.'

'NOT HELPING KYUUBI!'

He was stressing and Sasuke just stood there with his lips firmly shut, attempting not to laugh at his teammates distress, even though it was a pretty stressful situation for him.

"Would Uzumaki Naruto please come down to the arena floor?"

'Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit-'

"Naruto, get down there already." Sasuke hissed at him.

'Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit-'

"Seriously Naruto, I will shove you down there."

'I'm dead. That's it, all my hard work is gone! GONE I TELL YOU-'

"Naruto I swear to Kami, snap out of it!"

Naruto felt a sharp punch to his gut and he snapped out of his thoughts instantly.

"What was that for?!" Naruto hissed.

"Get to the arena you dope!" Sasuke whispered as everyone stared at them with either amusement or annoyance. "You're pissing people off!"

Naruto laughed awkwardly and jumped down to the arena floor, wanting to get over and done with the quick and horrible rejection he will receive.

"Uzumaki Naruto."

"Yes?" He squeaked, internally crying waterfalls.

"You have received an automatic BYE to the next round. Congratulations." Hayate coughed.

Naruto stared for a couple of seconds. The whole stadium stared and was in silence for a couple of seconds.

"Wait. What?!"
