Chapter 8 - Surprise Potion

I buried my hands into my pocket. It was still raining, and I didn't have an umbrella with me, so my cloak was soaked by the time I entered another shop. It was a average shop, one you'll probably won't notice when you pass it. Survivor. That was its name.

As soon as I stepped in, I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of items cramped inside. Backpacks. Harnesses. Weapons. Pots and pans. There was even a massive shelf of potions! No wonder this store was recommended when I was in the secret base. There is almost everything I need here! I walked towards the potions shelf. I grabbed a couple of basic healing potions (as well as some advanced healing potions) and gazed at the other potions.

I don't think I'll need a hair-dying potion, nor do I need a shiny-hair potion... I think I'm looking at the women's section. I inched myself to the right.

I'll definitely need an invisibility potion, maybe two, but it's so expensive... I'll get one and just hope I bump into Gale. Gale was one of the others who got sent on this mission with me. He was by far the most experience and deadliest of the quest bearers. Not only that, but he could vanish and turn others invisible by will.

Maybe I'll get some paralyses potions. They're cheap. Oh, and I need a strength booster... I looked around the shelves around me. Some of the potions were very strange. There was an Illusion - Wyvern potion, as well as a Lycanthropy potion. They were actually quite cheap.

Might as well buy some. They might be of use. Now where's that strength booster...? I turned my head to looked down the isles, and I saw a young woman with neat autumn coloured hair struggling to reach a small dusky bottle high on the shelf. She saw me.
"Please, sir, but I can't reach this potion I want. Can you please get it for me?" she asked, still focused on getting the potion.

"Sure. That one right?". She nodded. I lifted my hand, and with ease, I grabbed the potion. On the side, a small label said; Strength Booster. "So this is the strength booster!" I accidently exclaimed. I looked back up to see whether there was more. Only a lonely glass bottle stood on the shelves. Underneath, a delicate price tag was stuck on.

"Crikey! A hundred delors!". This was the most expensive potion I ever seen.

"Yes. It's ridiculous isn't it?" replied the lady next to me. Hey, that sounds familiar...

I faced her and examined her features. Autumn hair, bright green eyes, and a scar running down her cheek. Even though she was in disguise, it was unmistakably Lark from the rogue city. Lord Enince's personal bodyguard.
