Chapter 3 - A Dead End isn't Always a Dead End
Darwith frowned in confusion. "Isn't this suppose to be the hidden gateway?" He stared at the dead end in surprise. Sometimes, I can not believe how dumb Darwith is.
"Look, Darwith. If it wasn't a dead end, then Cogenth members can easily fill it in. Then, all the hard work to make the hidden entrance would be in vain." I say, exasperated. He still looked at me, not comprehending. I sigh deeply. "It's better if I just show you. ". Closing my eyes, I open up the instructions I memorized.
Travel southeast through trench platform 5B. You will reach a dead end. That is expected and is part of the hidden entrance. Simply look to the right of the dead end. There should be a shabby, narrow, weak looking ledge. Do not underestimate this ledge. Inside the rock ledge is reinforced iron. Look carefully. There is a lot of small rocks. The round one at the middle on the edge is the one you're looking for. Simply flip back the pebble and a cord should be hidden underneath.
I open my eyes again, and I spot the the rock the instructions told me. I lean across to flip the rock over, and I pulled out the cord, carefully sealed inside.
Tie the cord to your harness. If you don't have a harness, press the button on the top of the cord. Foam will come out. Smear hands with the foam. Grip the cord with two hands, not one. Jump into from the ledge, and you will reach a small room with equipment. Equip up, and good luck with your journey.
I didn't have a harness with me. I brought my intelligence equipment, a long sword, a dagger, poison, and a lots of other things, but I didn't realize I needed a harness as well. Oh well. I could press that button. Pressing it, it squeezed out a gooey black liquid. Gross. I smeared my hands with it and grip on with two hands. Darwith looked astounded. "Wh-what's happening?"
"Just do exactly what I did."
Gathering my confidence, I looked down into the intimidating depths, and I jumped. Again.
