Three years gone by
Since she left her hometown
Her daughter now five
And off to kindergarten
At the local elementary school
She comes home smiling
And the woman almost smiles with her
But then she remembers the town
And who she left behind
So instead she just winces
Her daughter
Named Louie
Shrugs it off
Instead runs off to play
She's used to it
The pain on her mother's face
She never knew why
But sometimes at night
She could hear her mother cry
Because Louie's mother
Was no longer strong
She simply couldn't take it anymore
So now she's decided
To run away from the pain
And get rid of the hurt
She'll send Louie away
To live with some relatives
And she'll chase the sunset
Searching for stars
And that's why
The sun travels
With a friend.
