Chapter 22

- Tegan's Point of View -

"TEGAN MAY COLDEN, WHERE IN THE BLITHERING BLUE BLAZES ARE YOU??? Is Ken with you?" Sue yelled through the phone.

"It's for you," I told Ken, handing him the phone.

I had called Sue with Tehya's phone to ask for her credit card number (Me not having one and all) and she had handled it a lot worse then I thought she would.

"Hey sis," Ken said into the phone, immediately moving the phone away from his ear as Sue shouted at him.

"You done yet?"

"Ken, if you don't explain within the next three second, I will personally strap you to a chair and starve you when you get back."

"Well I was gonna explain but then you started yelling at me."

"Fine. I'm sorry. Now explain."

"We're in D.C."

"D.C.??? ARE YOU CRAZY???" Sue shouted again.

"Sue, what did we just discuss?"

"Sorry."

"Better. So, we're in D.C. because some government officials picked us up when we were playing football. I don't really have time to explain our current position, but we need your credit card number."

"Wha...? Um...Okay."

So with out any further arguing Sue gave us her card number and we would be able to sleep in a bed for the night. I mean, not that I minded sleeping in front of the Capital building, but I don't think the security guards would like it very much.

"Now what?" Emily asked, glancing to where Rosie was leaning on Pete's shoulder.

"We check into the nearest hotel."

"That would be the Diamond Inn. It's a bit extravagant but we can all fit into one room," Thea told us.

"But what about the boys?" Emily asked.

We all looked at her confused.

"What about them?"

"Well it won't look very...Good, getting the same room with three boys."

We all groaned as we realized she was right.

"Why don't we just get a separated room?" Thea suggested.

She had been to the hotel before and knew all about that sort of thing.

"Perfect! It's settled, the boys will get the room with the uncomfortable beds and us girls will get the one we deserve!" I smiled, knowing that Ken would understand that I was kidding.

"I don't think that's entirely fair," Luke protested.

Ken simply grabbed him by the arm and started to walk.

"Just forget it."

Midnight at the hotel...

- Tanya's Point of View -

It was about 11 o'clock when we got to the hotel, but almost everyone was already asleep.

I had never been in a hotel this big or fancy before, and it took me a while to get use to it. The walls were a beige color, but then it had all these carved patterns and a chandelier. The beds felt like marshmallows and the carpet was probably softer then my  bed back at home.

I was sharing a Queen sized bed with Rosie and Tegan, and then Tehya, Emily, and Thea shared the other bed. I didn't know what the boys had done to figure out who'd get there own bed, but I'm sure they had figured it out.

I felt like I could fall asleep any minute, but as soon as I was just about to slip into dream land I felt the bed move as Tegan got up. I turned to look what she was doing and was surprised to see her lay right back down...On the floor.

She looked comfortable enough, I guess, but all the same I wanted to ask her. However, as soon as I was about to get up, I suddenly fell asleep without even realizing it.

The next morning...

So we had all pretty much woken up at the same time - all except Tegan, that is - not being use to the big beds, and the activity started at around five in the morning. Even Rosie was awake. We all just started our day admiring the selection of magazines that we would never be caught dead reading and wide assortment of shampoos, conditioners, ect.

"How much can one girl possibly put in her hair," Thea remarked, reading all the labels of the bottles.

We all laughed, feeling in high spirits after a good nights rest, then a nock on the door.

"Come in!" I shouted, not even bothering to walk over to the door.

"You girls make so much noise it's a wonder anyone can sleep," Pete remarked, walking through the door followed by Ken and Luke.

"He's lying. We woke up before you did," Ken told us.

I smiled and pointed at Tegan.

"She seemed to be doing a fairly good job of it."

Ken moved to where he could see her sleeping on the ground, a blanket over her face.

"Well, she's always slept like a rock...As for on the ground, I can't really explain that one," he told us, kneeling down beside her and tapping her shoulder.

"Tegan, I have pancakes!"

She immediately sat up, nearly nocking Ken over, and stood up.

"DON'T DO THAT KEN!!!" She yelled at him.

Ken, of course, was lying on the floor laughing.

"Oh good grief Kennedy. You're just like a three year old."

"Fine, I'll stop," Ken told her, standing up himself.

"Why were you sleeping on the floor?"

"If the carpet is more comfortable then my own bed, then imagine what that bed was like."

Just then a maid came in, holding a tray of pancakes and a pitcher of milk.

"You do have pancakes!" Tegan exclaimed, tackling Ken for the first tray.

"I didn't know we actually did," Ken told her.

"Who ordered them?"

"I did," Thea said, coming out of the bathroom.

"We gotta eat something or we'll all waist away."
