Chapter 21
-Ken's Point of View-
"Dude, I am sooooooooo grounded when I get home." Teg groaned, looking up at the giant white building down the street.
"Well, D.C. isn't that far away from Wash...Okay never mind." I stopped as I realized it actually was incredibly far away.
"Why don't we just call one of your siblings?"
"Remember, I put my cellphone in my coat pocket when we started the football game."
"Ughhhhhhhhhh, whyyyyyyyyyyyyy???"
"Um...I have a cellphone." Tehya chimed in.
"You...Are a life saver!" Teg told her, being slightly dramatic.
"What's the number you want to call?"
Tegan looked at me for a second with a question in her eyes.
"Well, which one is less likely to freak out?" I prompted.
"Um...Probably Joe...But she doesn't have a phone yet...Next would probably be Maria."
"Yeah, that would be my guess to." I assured her.
So Teg quickly told Tehya the number and then we all crossed our fingers. We thought that we'd most likely have connection in the city, but what I was worried about was that Maria wouldn't answer a call from someone she didn't know.
Thankfully, a moment later we heard a voice come through the phone saying, "Hello?"
"Hey, uh..." Tehya answered, realizing that she had no idea what to say.
Tegan quickly grabbed the phone and took hold of the situation.
"Sup sis!"
"Sup sis?" I said in a hushed tone.
Teg covered the speaker with her hand and quickly said, "Best not to get her worried before I've even told her."
"Okay Tegan Anne, what did you do?" Maria asked through the phone.
"Your middle name's Anne?" I chuckled, Teg shooting me a glare.
"Well, uh, it's not exactly what I've done...It's more what Creepy did."
"What?"
"Never mind...What's important is that I'm in D.C. with Ken, a couple other boys and three girls that look exactly like me, being chased by a man who wants to clone us....Well, who has already cloned one of us."
"....."
"Maria, you still there?" Teg asked when there was no answer.
"Um...Yeah...Teg, are you feeling alright?"
"You don't believe me, do you?"
"Well would you believe me?"
"...No...But I'm not lying!...Here, I'll take a picture of all of us and send it to you."
Teg quickly snapped a picture of everyone and then sent it to her.
"Do you believe me now?" She asked.
"I guess so....But what do you want me to do?"
"Just tell everyone what's going on, and we'll stay here and sort things out. Then when we have everything figured, we'll come back."
"Um...Okay. See ya!"
"Bye!"
Teg hung up and gave the phone back to Tehya, walking into the café next to us.
"What now?" I asked her as she sat down in a side table.
"Vanilla milkshake is what."
Everyone looked slightly surprised at her attitude, but none of them argued.
"How are you gonna buy a milkshake?" I inquired as she looked the menu over.
She stuffed her hand in her pocket and pulled out a leather wallet, throwing three twenty dollar bills on the table.
"Where did you get sixty bucks?" Tehya asked, looking at it with wide eyes.
"Vacation mullah! I didn't intend to use it this year, but now's a better time then any...You guys can order what you want."
Nobody objected to her offer and once the food was brought to our table Teg started to make what seemed to be small talk.
"So," She started.
"Do any of you know how to work with computers?"
"Haha, it just so happens that Tanya is a complete tech nerd." Pete laughed.
"Excuse me? I prefer the term, tech genius, thank you very much...But why do you ask?"
"Well, I have-" Teg started, but was cut off by someone at the mic.
"Excuse me everyone, but as most of you know, today is karaoke night. This is how it's going to work. You can volunteer to sing and you will sing to a song that we pick."
Suddenly Teg's eyes grew wide, and when I turned to see what she was looking at, I saw that Creepy was back, glancing around the room, his eyes landing on us. He grinned evily and started walking towards us, followed by a couple other men.
"I'D LIKE TO SING!" Teg called out, standing abruptly from the table.
"Well, looks like we got a volunteer." The man at the mic said.
"Actually, you have four." Teg told him.
"What?" We all asked at the same time.
"Well I'm not going up there alone."
"Teg, what are you doing?"
"Just trust me."
"Thea, Tehya, Tanya, would you mind coming with me?" Teg asked, not waiting for an answer and walking up onto the stage.
Teg seemed fine, until she looked down at the crowd. Then the color seemed to drain from her face and she just stared blankly. Thankfully, the other girls were up on the stage in no time, the DJ starting up the music.

It took them a second to get into, but eventually, they looked like the most talented quadruplets I had ever seen.
-Tegan's Point of View-
As soon as the music started I was behind that stage curtain, catching my breath. I had always been afraid to perform in front of a bunch of people, so I used the others as a cover while I thought of a plan. Creepy wouldn't go for us if we were on stage. As I thought, the music played and started to here them sing.
Thea: "Clock strikes apon the hour and the sun begins to fade."
Tehya: "Still enough time to figure out how to chase my blues away."
Tanya: "I've done alright up till now, it's the light of the day that shows me how. And when the night falls, the loneliness calls."
All three: "Oh I wanna dance with somebody, I wanna feel the heat with somebody. Yeahhhh, I wanna dance with somebody. With somebody who loves me!"
I listened to them sing, trying to pound my head for ideas and looking around the room...Back door might help...But how would we get out through the back door?
Then an idea struck me.
"Psst!" I said, sticking my head through the curtain.
Tehya slowly made her way to the back of the stage and raised her eyebrows in question.
"Could you somehow get the crowd to stand up. Get them feeling jumpy. Do something that makes them feel like moving."
"Got it!"
And as soon as she was back on the stage, it didn't take long for the crowd to get into the jumpy song, standing up and making it pretty much impossible to see anyone.
With that down, I quickly slipped off the stage and into the crowd, catching Ken's eye and motioning for them all to follow me.
We quickly all slipped out the back door and the girls finished singing, following us as fast as possible.
