Chapter 16

- Tegan's Point of View -

We were thrown into a large room, filled with paintings, old documents, and a surprising amount of forks and spoons. Surprising for a random room. Usually, I would disagree to put prisoners in a room like this, but it looked extremely secure, and the only way out was a giant metal door that was guarded 24-7. I looked around at the huge room and the giant chandelier, immediately falling to my knees and then leaning back on the ground, staring at the ceiling.

"Well," Ken said, slouching down by a big chest.

"This is not what I was planning to do today."

I looked at him miserably and then sat up, leaning against the wall.

"What on earth do they want with us?" I asked, hugging my knees.

Ken looked at me for a second then shrugged.

We just sat there for what seemed like hours and I was just about to scream my head off, just to relieve the tension and boredom, but we heard the lock turn in the big door and a couple of girls got thrown in.

"Ugh, I'm starting to get the wrong impression of you Americans," One of them said, her British accent standing out enormously.

The girl was small and slender, had a round face with freckles, and her blue eyes stood out against her blonde hair. The other girl had brown hair and a blue plaid shirt, but I couldn't see her face because she was turned away.

"Yeah, me to," I said, standing up and walking toward them.

The blonde girl turned to look at me and her eyes widened till they were almost popping out.

"Uh...Tehya?" She said to the girl behind her.

The girl stood up and turned around, her green eyes landing on me and growing as wide as mine had.

We looked....Exactly....The same.

From the long brown hair, to the height and the big, jade green, eyes.

"Uh, Ken...Pinch me. I think I'm dreaming," I said, not looking away from my double.

Ken looked at me and then followed my line of vision, practically jumping out of my skin.

"So....Um....Who's this?" He asked.

"I'm Emily," The British girl said.

"And this is Tehya...She seems to look exactly like your friend...Who are you?"

"Oh! Um, I'm Ken and this is....This is uh..." Ken snapped his fingers, trying to remember my name.

I glared at him and elbowed him in the ribs.

"I'm Tegan...And I've known Ken all my life," I informed them.

"You know, I'm actually a triplet and both my sisters, the other triplets, have moved away, but something about you told me you weren't one of them," Tehya told me.

"Well that's easy to explain. I may look exactly like you, but sisters always know who their sisters are, even if they do look exactly the same."

"You have sisters then?"

"Yup. Five, to be precise."

"So, do you have any idea what they want with us?" Emily asked us.

We both shrugged.

"Haven't the slightest," I said.

"We're just as confused as you are."

Just then the door opened again, allowing a girl and a boy to fall through the opening. The girl immediately stood up and threw an empty cup at the door, shouting some uncomprehendable words. The boy stood up as well, placing a hand on her shoulder and saying something to her.

"Thea? THEA!" Tehya said, running up to the girl.

"Tehya? What are you doing here?" Thea asked.

"I was just about to ask you the same question....I really have no idea. None of us do."

Then Thea looked at me, one eyebrow raised.

"And who might you be? You look exactly like Tehya, Tanya, and me, but you're not."

"Who's Tanya?" I asked.

Just then a girl came out from behind a curtain, followed by a boy with brown hair.

"I am. Didn't expect to see my triplets here." She smiled, walking towards us.

"This is...Confusing." Ken said, shaking his head back and forth.

"Well, they say everybody has a lookalike." I said.

"Mine just happened to be triplets."

"So now what do we do?" The brunette boy asked.

"We wait." Thea said, sitting down on a stool.

.................................................................................................................

"Joe and Maria are probably in gigantic hotel right now, playing chess with the President....Not that I like chess, but it'd be better then this." I mumbled to Ken who was idly throwing marbles into a bowl.

"They probably haven't the slightest idea where I am right now...I don't even know where I am."

"Would you stop worrying about your siblings. They're fine. You're the one who should be worrying about yourself." Ken told me, finally putting his foot down at my rambling.

Just then the door opened once more, a couple of well built guards walking in after a tall thin man, dressed in suit and tie.

"Come with me...And don't make any trouble." The man said, immediately walking out of the room again.

We all walked single file out of the room, accompanied by the guards, and made our way down long halls and up several flights of stairs, eventually coming to the roof where an airplane was stationed.

"Oh great." Emily said.

"Another plane."

"The last one was a helicopter, not a plane. There's a huge difference." Tehya told her, keeping a strait face.

We walked into the plane, as instructed, and took our seats at different ends of the aircraft. Ken and me sat next to each other, naturally, and the others paired up as well. The order was, Thea and Luke in front, Tehya and Emily behind them, Tanya and the brunette (Who I had figured out was called Peter), then there was Ken and me in the back. There was also a girl of about 12 who sat with Tanya and Peter, but I didn't know her name. She didn't really talk.

The plane took off after about five minutes and I felt like I was heading into dangerous territories. What if I never came back? What if this whole thing would just end up with us getting killed? NO!!! Don't think like that!
