Chapter 34

"I thought I told you I wanted your daughter here Lucius." Voldemort says as the Death Eaters sit around a table in Malfoy Manor.

"I tried my lord but she refuses." Lucius replies.

"Oh for fucks sake!" Bellatrix exclaims as she gets up. She storms up the stairs.

"Bellatrix!" Narcissa yells after Bellatrix as she stands. "Don't you dare touch her!" Narcissa jogs after Bellatrix.

"Bellatrix and Narcissa incoming." Snape says to Ursa through their connection.

"Thanks." Ursa replies before going back to her book.

"What was that about?" Yaxley asks.

"Bellatrix has the tendency to be a little... forceful with Ursa and neither Narcissa or I like that." Lucius says.

Bellatrix storms into Ursa's room. "Get up. Get dressed. Now!" Bellatrix snaps at Ursa.

"I already said I am not going down there." Bellatrix tears the book from Ursa's hands and tosses it across the room. "Hey!" Narcissa walks into the room as Bellatrix storms into Ursa's closet. Ursa goes over to the book and carefully picks it up. "That was a very important book you threw." Ursa snaps.

"Please do what you are told for once in your life Cub." Narcissa says and Bellatrix tosses a dress onto Ursa's bed.

"Shut up and get dressed!" Bellatrix snaps and draws her wand. "Now!" Ursa looks around for her wand. Bellatrix and Ursa spot Ursa's wand at the same time, across the bed from Ursa. Ursa dives for her wand but Bellatrix is quicker and grabs it.

"Damn it! Fine." Ursa grabs the dress and storms into her bathroom. She changes and walks out of her bathroom only to be hit in the face with a spell. "What was that?"

     "Hurrying things along." Bellatrix says.

"Well a warning would have been nice."

"We're way past nice." Ursa looks in the mirror and sees Bellatrix put make up on her. Ursa lets her hair down and brushes it out.

"Shit. I forgot I took that off."

     "Lang-" Narcissa starts.

"Can you get that necklace off my nightstand?" Narcissa gets the dragon necklace while Ursa puts earrings on. Ursa puts the necklace on. "Happy?"

"Good enough." Ursa rolls her eyes and Bellatrix sees the necklace. "Where did you get that necklace?"

     "I cannot tell you."

     "Tell-"

"Bellatrix she will not even tell me." Narcissa says. "Now let's go before the Dark Lord gets angry." Ursa holds her hand out to Bellatrix.

"I am not going anywhere without my wand." Ursa says and Bellatrix hands it to her.

     "Try anything-" Bellatrix starts.

"And I will regret it. I know." Ursa points her wand at her feet and heels appear on them. She stands and follows Bellatrix downstairs.

"Ah there you are Ursa." Voldemort says as Ursa walks in. Ursa sits between Bellatrix and Narcissa.

"I apologize now for anything she says my Lord." Lucius says and Ursa rolls her eyes.

     "Now Ur-" Voldemort starts.

"What do you want from me?" Ursa asks.

"Why do you not run from me?"

"Why are you thinking about it?"

     "What do you know?"

"What are you doing?" Snape growls through their connection.

"Why are you not scared of me?" Voldemort asks.

"Why do you care about me?" Ursa says

     "When we-"

"We all fall asleep where do we go?" Ursa smirks.

     "Ursa be quiet." Lucius says.

"Lucius le-" Voldemort tries to say.

"Oh just spit it out. What is it you want?" The other Death Eaters look at her like she's crazy and she notices.

     "This child..." Yaxley says.

     "She's going to-" Amycus says.

"Today I'm thinking about," Ursa interrupts. "Things that are deadly."

     "She's crazy." Alecto says.

     "Maybe a little." Ursa smirks.

"Stop talking in riddles and songs Ursa." Lucius says.

"At least they are ones I wrote."

"Now," Voldemort says bringing the attention back to him. "I believe most people do not know you past your name. How about you tell us about yourself?"

"Is that a request or a command? If it a request, I am good staying mysterious."

     "A command."

     "Fine." Ursa smirks.

"Do not dare-" Lucius starts as Ursa stands.

"They sent me away," Ursa starts, motioning to her parents and smirks while she says what is in italics. "to find them a fortune, a chest filled with diamonds and gold. The house was awake with shadows and monsters. The hallways they echoed and groaned. I sat alone, in bed til the morning. I'm crying 'they're coming for me.' And I tried to hold these secrets inside me." Ursa's smirk goes dark. "My mind's like a deadly disease. I'm bigger than my body. I'm colder than this home. I'm meaner than my demons. I'm bigger than these bones. And all the kids cried out, 'Please stop you're scaring me!' I can't help this awful energy. God damn right you should be scared of me."

"We should be scared of you?" Yaxley says before everyone laughs, except the Malfoys, Voldemort, Bellatrix, and Snape. Ursa sits.

     "Yes." Ursa says emotionlessly.

"You are a child." Yaxley counters.

     "And?"

"Why should adults be scared of you, a child?"

"Did you fail to notice that those who know me did not laugh with the rest of you idiots? I have extensive Dark Arts knowledge. Some ancient. I can confidently say that I may know as much as the Dark Lord. Not the same things obviously."

"That's impossible. You are a child."

"A child that was friendless for nine years and found a way to escape the world through books. Particularly spell books. Dark Arts spell books. As well as Defense Against the Dark Arts spell books and Potion books. I was the top of the class last year, knocking a Muggle-born down to second and my brother down to third. I am top of my class in Potions, which Severus can attest for, and when there was a semi-competent, albeit insane, DADA teacher I was top."

"You are not?" Lucius asks. "Who is?"

"It is usually Granger or me but Umbridge hates both of us so I do not know. Probably Draco with how he sucks up to her. Makes me embarrassed to be his sister. Last year I was first in Transfiguration, Potions, DADA, Divinations, and Care of Magical Creatures, second in Charms and History of Magic and tied with Granger for 1st in Herbology and Astronomy."

"Is this true?" Yaxley asks Snape.

"Yes." Snape says. Ursa draws her wand and flicks it. Four pieces of parchment flies into the room and lands in front of Yaxley.

"Those would be my grades of the last four years in front of you." Ursa says. "All O's."

"I don't think anyone got all O's when I was in school." Yaxley says. The parchments gets passed around the table and Ursa rolls her eyes. She flicks her wand and the parchments fly out of someone's hands and back out of the room.

"My guardian in the States heard of and believed the rumor that the Dark Lord would return and raised me to be a Death Eater, a powerful one."

"Do you have questions for anyone here?" Voldemort asks Ursa.

"Are you deranged like me?" Ursa asks. "Are you strange like me?" Lucius sighs in irritation. "Lighting matches just to swallow up the flame like me. Do you call yourself a fucking hurricane like me? Pointing fingers cause you never take the blame like me."

"Ursa knock it off." Lucius snaps.

"Stop cursing." Narcissa growls. Ursa rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. She slowly starts making circles with her wand and wind starts blowing in a circle around the table.

"And all the people say." Ursa says. "'You can't wake up this is not a dream. You're part of a machine. You are not a human being. With your face all made up living on a screen. Low on self-esteem so you run on gasoline.'" Narcissa snatches Ursa's wand out of her hand and the wind stops. "Hey!"

"Your father told you to knock it off." Narcissa snaps. "You'll get this back later." Ursa rolls her eyes. "Drop the attitude."

"She's definitely related to Bellatrix." Yaxley says.

"Do not remind me." Ursa groans.

"I take it you do not get along."

"That's an understatement. Let's just say she would kill me if she could. And yes, she has told me that. Multiple times."

"Didn't you two used to adore each other?"

"People change. She has hated me since I continually refuse to join you all despite my upbringing."

"You are certainly a brave one aren't you?" Voldemort says. "Crouch and Severus told me of the things you did last year."

"I'm going to kill you." Ursa says through the connection.

"Disarming Crouch in the middle of class, resisting the Imperius Curse, powerful nonverbal magic, advanced transfiguration," Ursa laughs.

"That was funny." Ursa says aloud.

"What did you do that was so advanced?" Alecto asks.

"Well Draco was being an ass so I changed his apple into a small dragon and made it chase him."

"Almost cursing Crouch," Voldemort continues. "cursing Potter, pranking Severus." Ursa chuckles.

     "Yeah. That was hilarious."

     "It was not." Snape says.

"What? Did you not like the bright pink robes? Or red, or rainbow, or anything else they were while you were trying to find me? And I would have cursed Crouch if someone had not stopped me."

"It was for your own good. You would've regretted it eventually."

"Why did you almost curse him?" Rabastan asks.

"He spoke ill of my family." Ursa answers. "Called my father a coward and my mother a bitch."

"It was the 'bitch' comment that set her off." Snape says. "She's almost as protective as Bellatrix. I think even Dumbledore and McGonagall were scared of her in that moment. She also took down one of Durmstrang's top seventh years in the middle of the Yule Ball."

"And he decided to attack her again at our party." Lucius says. Ursa smiles proudly.

"Now he knows better than to touch a woman who turned him down and be careful who he calls a slur. He was bragging about being Sacred Twenty-Eight. He had no idea who he was talking to."

"What does that mean?" Rockwood asks

"I'm both a Black and a Malfoy. Two of the most wealthy and powerful Sacred Twenty-Eight families. I went with my best friend who is a Parkinson. He was a Fawley. Yes from the fallen line. It was hilarious."

"No one stopped them?" Yaxley asks.

"No," Snape says. "Albus knew she wouldn't do anything without reason and no one could do anything since she put a shield up to protect everyone else. It was entertaining to watch."

"Both the boy and his headmaster were terrified in the end." Ursa says. "It was amazing."

"Yes. Karkaroff was boasting about his student until I told him who his student was fighting and her knowledge... and who she fights like. He realized his student was in danger after that."

"Who does she fight like?" Yaxley asks.

"Her aunt. Brutal, quick reflexes, Dark Arts, and a little overconfident."

"Hey!" Ursa and Bellatrix both exclaim.

"Though Ursa has regards for other's safety."

"Your family and Severus have told me of what you have done this year as well." Voldemort says. "Almost attacking a teacher-"

"Second DADA teacher I have threatened." Ursa says. "Another case of insulting my family."

     "Me specifically?" Narcissa asks.

     "Yes."

"I swear you are as protective of her as I am." Bellatrix mumbles.

"You kept a griffin from attacking Hogwarts." Voldemort continues. "Caring for creatures in the place of Hogwarts oaf." A light cracks. "And teaching DADA to other students against the Ministry's wishes. With Potter and on Dumbledore's orders none the less." Ursa shrinks in her seat as her parents and Bellatrix look at her angrily. "Oh. Were they not aware it was with Potter or on Dumbledore's orders?"

"We did not." Lucius says. "Fudge only told me she was a part of it. Not that she was teaching."

"Sorry." Snape says through the connection. "I thought they knew."

"Of course it was you." Ursa replies.

"You said you stopped speaking to them no matter what." Lucius says.

"I did stop talking to them. They are just so persistent." Ursa says aloud.

     "Explain."

"They knew I excel at dueling and told me it would be my fault if you all attacked and people died. And kept pestering me. By the time I figured out they used me it was too late."

"We will deal with you later." Narcissa says.

"Yes Mother. Can we get to the point of why I am here?"

     "Shut up child." Bellatrix snaps.

"People seem to think you are powerful." Voldemort says.

     "I am." Ursa replies.

"More powerful than a girl your age should be."

"Probably. Again. Get to the point." Narcissa glares at Ursa and Ursa shrinks into herself.

"You seem to be more afraid of your mother than the Dark Lord." Amycus says.

"Only when she's angry. Even Bellatrix is scared of her then."

"Enough!" Voldemort says. "Join us. You will have more fame and power than you could imagine."

"I do not want fame and I already have power."

"You seem cocky about your power." Rodolphus says. "I think you are bluffing."

     "Really?"

"Yes." Ursa smiles darkly and stands.

     "Ursa sit down." Lucius says.

"Let me tell you all a story about a man named Rodolphus. He was a man in the 'big bad' Death Eaters. He thought himself the best, tougher than the rest." Ursa slams her hands on the table, sparks around her fingers and glasses shatter. "But fuck that little man because I'm a powerful witch."

"What have I told you about cursing?" Narcissa asks angrily.

"Not to miss?" Narcissa glares at Ursa and Ursa sits as she speaks. "Okay, okay, I'll behave."

"I still think you are bluffing." Rodolphus says and Ursa rolls her eyes.

"Just ask Auntie how many times I have taken her down."

"You were taken down by a teenager?" Yaxley asks.

"I had just gotten out of Azkaban." Bellatrix snaps.

"Okay that doesn't explain over a month later when I took down you and Father." Ursa says. "Wasn't Mother also trying to disarm me at the same time?" The table laughs.

"Enough!" Voldemort exclaims. "Who still doubts her power?" Everyone except Ursa's family and Snape raise their hands.

"Does this mean I get to show off?" Ursa asks.

"It appears it does." Voldemort says.

"Oh no." Lucius whispers. "This is not going to end well is it Cissa?"

     "Probably not." Narcissa whispers back.

"I want to be the one to fight her." Rodolphus says.

"Alright." Ursa says. "We should go outside so we do not accidentally break something. No Unforgivable Curses. I will need my wand Mother."

"Sure, I will give you more room to hide. I will also let you change into better clothes." Ursa stands and Narcissa hands Ursa her wand.

"Who said I needed to change?" The table ohs. "I fought the Durmstrang boy in this dress with a corset on too."
