Chapter 2

     "Everything set up?" Ursa asks.

     "Yep." Draco replies.

"Good. Let's get out of here before they get home.

Narcissa and Lucius arrive home an hour later through the Floo Network. "What the?" Narcissa questions as she sees the low table has a bouquet of black roses on it and vases with red ones. "Did you do this?"

"I have no idea what this is." Lucius replies. Narcissa notices the note and picks it up.

She shakes her head with a smile. "Those little... little shits."

     "Who?"

"Our children. Apparently Ursa overheard us talking about how we forgot to celebrate our twentieth anniversary. Her and Draco have set up a celebration for the two of us."

"So that's why they've been sneaking around all week."

     "You noticed that too?"

"Mhm" Lucius wraps his arms around Narcissa and puts his chin on her shoulder. "So what did our sneaky children set up for us?"

"Well it appears the Parkinsons were in on it since the children are at a sleepover at Pansy's they didn't tell us about."

Lucius chuckles. "So we don't have to worry about them for the night."

"They've gotten us a reservation at that new restaurant in Diagon Alley and they've set up something in the garden for after."

     "When is the reservation?"

     "Two hours."

"We should start getting ready then."

"It's not going to take us two hours. Maybe one."

"Cissa, I love you, but you take forever to get ready." Narcissa rolls her eyes and they walk up to their room. They open the door to find a dress and suit laid out for them.

"I think we have the most thoughtful and thorough children."

At Pansy's, Ursa jolts when Narcissa and Lucius step out of the fireplace. "You okay?" Draco asks.

"Yep. I set a tripwire spell in front of the fireplace so I would know when they're home." Ursa jolts again. "And someone has grabbed the note. Alright now we can drink."

"Is that really a good idea? They're going to interrogate us the second we get home. Do you really want to do that hungover?"

"Oh sweet naïve little brother. I already have two hangover cure potions hidden in the sitting room."

"Of course you planned for everything."

     "Duh."

When Lucius puts on his suit, he feels something in his pocket. He pulls a note out and reads it before smiling. "Little shits." He mumbles to himself.

     "What's that?" Narcissa asks.

"Just a note they left me about something for later. We're interrogating them tomorrow right?"

     "Oh definitely."

Back at Pansy's, Ursa gently takes Pansy's hand and sneaks away from the group. "What are you doing?" Pansy asks.

"I wanted to talk to you alone." Ursa replies. "So um... we've been on a few dates and I like you."

"I like you too." Pansy says.

     "Will you be my girlfriend?"

     "Yes."

     "Cool, cool."

They stand there awkwardly for a moment. "Is there anything else?"

"I um... can I um... kiss you." Pansy laughs at Ursa's nervousness and Ursa frowns.

"Sorry for laughing. You just look adorable that nervous. Yes you can." Ursa leans in and they gently kiss.

     "That was nice." Ursa says.

"I've had better." Pansy says with a smirk.

     "Pansy!"

"I'm kidding. I've only had one kiss before that and it was shit. What about you?"

"That was my first kiss. I was still figuring out my sexuality and was hated in the States"

"Come on. We should probably get back before people notice we're missing."

After dinner, Narcissa and Lucius go outside to see what Ursa and Draco set up. They put fairy lights up around the garden and set out champagne and glasses. "How did they manage to get ahold of alcohol?" Narcissa asks as she shakes her head with a smile.

"We'll find out tomorrow." Lucius says. They sit on the bench and Narcissa notices a box on the table next to the champagne.

     "What did they get?"

Lucius picks up the box. "Actually, I got this last year. I didn't forget our anniversary but I didn't want you to feel bad for forgetting so I was going to give it to you this year. Somehow the children found out about it." Lucius hands Narcissa the box and she opens it. A beautiful bracelet sits in the box.

     "It's beautiful." Narcissa says.

"That's what the note they left me in my pocket was about."

Back at Pansy's, the group has started to play Never Have I Ever and drinking. "Here's one for the boys." Daphne Greengrass says. "Never have I ever kissed a girl." Draco and Blaise both drink as well as Pansy and Ursa. "You heard me say 'girl' right?"

     "We heard you." Ursa replies.

"Spill!" Pansy and Ursa look at each other and start giggling.

     "I called it!" Goyle yells.

Blaise groans. "Who owes who what?" He asks.

"You were betting?" Ursa asks as Draco pulls a piece of parchment out of his pocket.

"Wait did Draco know?" Millicent asks.

"Duh." Pansy replies. "She tells him everything."

"I didn't know they kissed but I knew they had been on a few dates." Draco says.

"No money for Draco?" Daphne asks everyone else.

     "Yeah!" They all agree.

In the morning, Draco and Ursa use the Floo Network to get home. They step out of the fireplace to see Narcissa and Lucius waiting for them. "Hello." Narcissa says.

Ursa groans. "How much did I say?" Ursa asks Draco.

"Ten Galleons." Draco replies as Ursa draws her wand.

"Accio potions." Two potions fly out of their hiding places and to Ursa. She hands one to Draco and they both down them. Ursa pulls her coin purse out of her bag and Draco holds his hand out. Ten Galleons fly out of it and into Draco's hand.

"Sit." Narcissa says. Ursa and Draco sit on the other couch across from them.

"What do you want to know?" Draco asks.

"How did you manage to pull this off?" Lucius asks.

"We only used Lyra for letters and told her to come straight to me with them." Ursa says. "When I went to Severus's, I also went to Diagon Alley to make the reservation."

"How did you know about the bracelet?" Lucius asks.

"We went to the jeweler in Diagon Alley and he told us." Draco replies.

"Well, once we told him what we were doing and convinced him." Ursa says. "Severus got the champagne for us. Well we paid him to."

"You two are so sweet." Narcissa says. "Now, I believe those were hangover cure potions you just took so you are in trouble for drinking."

"I told you she would know!" Draco exclaims and Ursa groans.

"Just because yours has kicked in doesn't mean mine has." Ursa snaps before leaning on Draco.

     "Get off me." Draco says.

     "But you're comfy."

"The drinking!" Narcissa exclaims to pull the attention back to her and Ursa winces.

"How often do you two drink?" Lucius asks.

     "I don't know." Ursa says.

     "Only at parties." Draco says.

"I think there were four parties this year but I only drank at three. Last one was after the last task. I do not know what the normal is."

     "Three. Depending on Quidditch."

"How much do you drink?" Narcissa asks.

"Not much. I only manage to get one drink, if I'm lucky, before getting caught by the older Slytherins."

"That is because you get caught with a drink in your hand idiot. You have to be sneaky. Go for the small drinks." Narcissa and Lucius glare at Ursa. "I mean, it's bad to drink and you shouldn't do it."

Narcissa sighs. "This is karma." She says.

     "Definitely." Lucius says.

"What do you mean?" Draco asks.

"They mean Auntie started the stash so they obviously drank at least a little at school." Ursa answers.

"How do you know your aunt started the stash?" Narcissa asks.

     "Severus told me."

"Of course Severus knows and has not stopped it."

"He makes sure we do not go wandering outside the common room."

"You two are children." Lucius says. "You should not be drinking."

"Come on, it's not often and it's controlled. I know my limits. I know how much I can drink before I black out or misbehave and ruin our reputation or whatever it is you are worried about."

"Didn't you black out at the Yule Ball after party in the common room?" Draco asks.

"How do you think I know my limits?" Ursa counters.

"We are disappointed in both of you." Narcissa says.

"Don't worry. She just gets talkative when she's drunk." Draco says.

Ursa's walking down the hall of the first (ground) floor when she sees someone she doesn't know looking into the tea room. She feels like she kind of recognizes the wild dark curls but draws her wand. The person closes the door and turns to continue down the hall only to see Ursa with her wand pointed at them. Ursa can now tell the person is a woman as she draws her wand. "Who the hell are you?" The woman asks.

"I could ask you the same question." Ursa says. "What do you think you are doing here?"

"What are you doing here?" The woman asks as she looks at Ursa's appearance. Ursa is wearing a pair of leggings and a t-shirt. Her face is bare and her hair is down and a mess as she was running her hands through her hair. "You clearly do not belong here." Ursa shoots a general spell at the woman and the woman blocks it with ease. The woman shoots a spell back and Ursa dodges it, shooting a Disarming Charm at the woman. The woman's wand flies out of her hand and Ursa runs up the stairs. She slips into her room and quietly closes the door, leaving it open just enough to fit the tip of her wand. "Come back little girl. Do not worry. I am not going to hurt you." The woman teases as she walks down the hall. Ursa steps back into the hall and shoots another spell at the woman. The woman spins around and barely blocks it in time. "There you are." She shoots a spell back and Ursa dodges it. She presses herself against the open door of her room. She peeks around the corner and shoots multiple spells at the woman. Two spells take out two lights. Downstairs, Narcissa steps out of the Floo Network and hears the spells. She starts running towards the sound. Upstairs, one spell finally hits the woman and she goes flying backwards. The woman starts to get up but Ursa is faster.

"Stupefy!" Ursa yells. The woman crumples to the ground, unconscious. Ursa steps back into the hall as the adrenaline wears off and she starts crying. Narcissa makes it to the top of the stairs and runs over to Ursa.

She hugs Ursa and speaks. "What happened Cub?"

"I found some woman sneaking around." Ursa replies. Narcissa releases Ursa.

     "Where is she?"

"I took her down." Ursa points down the hall as the woman starts to move. Narcissa draws her wand and pushes Ursa behind her, keeping ahold of one of Ursa's hands. They slowly moves towards the woman who starts attacking again. Narcissa sticks to blocking as they move. Ursa peeks around Narcissa and shoots two spells at the woman. The woman is too focused on attacking that she she does not see the spells coming. The first one is a Disarming Charm and the woman's wand flies from her hand. The second is a Knockback Jinx that throws the woman backwards.

Narcissa releases Ursa's hand and walks over to the woman's wand. She picks it up and furrows her brow. "Why do I recognize this wand?" She thinks aloud.

"Cissy?" The woman asks. The woman steps into the light and Narcissa gasps.

Ursa keeps her wand pointed at the woman as Narcissa takes a step closer and speaks. "Bella? You- you are not supposed to be here. In Azkaban not here. What are you doing here?"

"I escaped." The woman says as she walks closer to Narcissa. Ursa shoots a spell at the woman and it barely misses her because Ursa is shaking.

"Put your wand away." Narcissa says.

     "Are you sure?" Ursa questions.

     "Yes."

"Okay." Ursa slowly lowers her wand and puts it away and Narcissa and the woman hug. They release each other and Narcissa hands the woman her wand back.

Narcissa turns and goes back to Ursa. "Are you okay?" She asks as the woman walks over and Ursa nods in response.

"So who is this excellent little dueler?" The woman asks.

"Ursa." Narcissa says and the woman gasps.

"I am so sorry for attacking you." The woman says. "In my defense she had blonde hair last time I saw her."

"It darkened." Narcissa steps back from Ursa and the woman moves closer.

"Little Bear... she's all grown up." Ursa furrows her brow.

     "She is."

"Wait... Little Bear? Bella?" Ursa says before her face lights up. "Auntie?" The woman nods and Ursa hugs her tightly.

"I promised you that you would see me again." Bellatrix says. "I'm so happy you did not forget me."

Ursa hold tears back as she let's go of Bellatrix. "Why didn't you deny it?"

     "What?" Bellatrix asks.

"I saw someone's memory of your trial. You did not try to stay with me."

"I'm sorry Little Bear. I promise I thought about it. If I had denied it and still went to Azkaban, the Dark Lord would not have tried to break me out like he did. I never wanted to leave you or Draco."

Draco comes out into the hall and sees the glass from the lights. "What happened out here?"

Ursa gets instantly irritated. "You were in your room and you didn't hear it!? Are you fucking serious!?" A lightbulb shatters and only Bellatrix flinches.

"Ursa!" Narcissa exclaims. "Do not curse and calm down."

"Hear what?" Draco asks. "And who's that?"

"There was a whole ass fight out here! What the hell were you doing?!" Another lightbulb shatters and Narcissa puts her hand on Ursa's shoulder.

     "Napping."

Ursa calms. "That sounds about right. You tend to sleep like a rock during naps."

"Draco, this is your Aunt Bellatrix." Narcissa says.

"You mean the one that's supposed to be in Azkaban?" Draco questions.

"Yes. Apparently the Dark Lord broke her out."

"Sorry again for attacking you." Bellatrix says.

"Technically I attacked you." Ursa says. "I do look like I do not belong here. I don't usually wear makeup at home except dinner. And I run my fingers through my hair when I'm focusing, hence the mess."

"You are a very skilled dueler, especially since you did mainly nonverbal spells."

     "I am aware." Ursa says.

"So am I." Draco says and Ursa chuckles.

     "That was funny."

"It was not funny! It hurt."

"It was a bruise you big baby and it was your fault for calling me a coward."

"Alright I know you are not talking about when you turned Draco's apple into a dragon." Narcissa says. "What are you talking about?"

"When he angered me in the hall and I threw him back 30 feet with a nonverbal Knockback Jinx." Ursa says.

     "When did that happen?"

"Maybe a day or two after you stopped me from cursing Potter in Hogsmeade. Dumbledore said you were notified."

"Your father must not have told me."

"In my defense, you did tell me I could jinx him for lying to me like that."

     "Wait you did?" Draco asks.

"I limited her to jinxes." Narcissa replies. "Next time I need to limit to weak jinxes I see."

"They seem to bicker like we did." Bellatrix says.

"Honestly," Narcissa says. "They are worse than we ever were."

"Do you... do you still have Bella?" Bellatrix asks Ursa.

     "I do."

"It's always on her bed." Draco says. "Even at school."

     "Shut up."

"So you almost cursed Potter?" Bellatrix asks.

"He insulted Mother and that time Professor Moody, well Crouch technically, was not there to protect him. Though Draco is a very beautiful ferret."

Draco groans. "You are never going to let me live that down are you?" He asks.

"Nope. I actually did curse Potter later that week but Severus and Dumbledore did not tell you and Father."

"I can't believe how big you two are." Bellatrix says. "How old are you now?"

     "I'm 15 and he's 14."

"Little Bear and Little Dragon are all grown up."

     "They are." Narcissa says.

"So you are 'Auntie,' I take it." Draco says. "The one Ursa sometimes talks about in her sleep."

     "I do?" Ursa asks.

"Yes." Narcissa and Draco both say.

"I am. She's still protective of you I see." Bellatrix says.

     "Mhm." Narcissa replies.

That night, Lucius walks into dinner and freezes as he sees Bellatrix. "Am I dreaming or..." He trails off.

"The Dark Lord broke me out and I cannot go back to my own manor because they warded it." Bellatrix says.

"You missed all of the excitement, Lucius." Narcissa says as Lucius sits.

"What does that mean?" Lucius asks.

"I do not look like I did last time she saw me so we did not know who the other was and we dueled." Ursa says.

"In that case I am glad to see that you both and the manor are still in one piece. Two powerful Dark Witches. That could have ended badly."

"Glad to hear you are a Dark Witch." Bellatrix says.

"She's almost a saner version of you Bella." Narcissa says. "She may be more powerful than you though."

     "What makes you think that?"

"Did you notice lights shatter when I was yelling at Draco?" Ursa says. "That was me technically."

"I remember your mother saying you broke a mirror when you found out I had been arrested."

"Yes she shatters fragile things we she is angry." Lucius says.

"So the Dark Lord told me you were raised to serve him." Bellatrix says. "I assume you plan on joining us soon." Ursa looks down at her plate and remains silent. "Am I wrong?"

     "She's fifteen Bellatrix." Narcissa says.

     "Regulus was sixteen."

"I um... I'm not hungry." Ursa says. "May I be excused?" Narcissa nods and Ursa leaves. Draco looks at Narcissa and she nods at him. He takes his and Ursa's plates and leaves the room.

     "Where's he going?" Bellatrix asks.

"Bellatrix..." says Narcissa. "she does not want to join the Death Eaters, at least not yet."

     "Why not?"

"She was not given any choice in being trained to be a powerful Death Eater." Lucius says. "Beatrice, the person she was staying with, forced her. She's been through a lot relating to the Dark Lord and Death Eaters, including his rebirth."

     "She was there?"

"He used the Cruciatus Curse on her." Narcissa says with tears in her eyes. "To punish Lucius for not trying to find him like you. She saw a boy die. Murdered in front of her."

"We are not going to push her to join." Lucius says. "At least not yet."

Upstairs, Draco walks into Ursa's room without knocking. She's sitting on her window seat and staring out the window. Draco sets her plate down on the table next to her window seat and sits next to her. He eats while she just stares. "Did Mother kick you out?" Ursa asks after a few minutes.

"No," Draco replies. "But I could tell they wanted to talk to her alone. They know you don't want to be a Death Eater."

"That's fine. Just as long as they don't find out the real reason."

     "Your friends?"

"Yes and that I'm tolerant of blood."

"They're going to find out eventually."

"I know. I dread that day."

"I brought your food up. Do you want it?" Ursa nods and Draco hands her plate to her.
