Chapter 16: Mudbloods & Sibling Fights

"Hey Potter!" Draco says as he, his gang, and Ursa approach the Trio. "I read your article. Did you cry over poor old Mummy and Daddy last night?" Draco and his gang laughs and Ursa rolls her eyes.

     "Shut up Malfoy." Harry says.

"Since when have you been one of the top students in the school? I thought that was your Mudblood girlfriend there." Hermione's face gets red.

     "Piss off Malfoy." Ron says.

"and 'stunningly pretty?'" Pansy questions. "Her? What was she comparing you to? A chipmunk." Hermione gets redder and Ursa hits Pansy's arm.

     "She is pretty." Ursa says.

"Though the Mudblood better watch out. Ursa will take that title soon enough."

Ursa sighs and rolls her eyes. "Like I care about being the top student Dray." Ursa says.

"You should. Maybe then our parents will stop bugging me about it."

"Maybe if you had ever studied in your life like us you would not be failing Transfiguration." The Trio and Draco's gang chuckles while Draco gets angry.

"I am not failing it! I am second or third in most classes no thanks to the Mudblood. And like you are any good at Transfiguration."

"May I remind you I got expelled from Ilvermorny for turning a Muggle into a frog. I know you are not failing it per say but I love your reactions. I wonder what our parents would think if they knew there was a Muggle-born with better grades than you."

"You say that like they don't already know. I wonder what they would think if they found out you were being tutored by a Mudblood."

Before anyone can react, Ursa has Draco pinned to the nearest wall with her wand tip pushed into his throat and Draco yelps in fear. "What was that?" Ursa growls, irises black.

     "Bloody hell." Ron says.

"N-nothing. I-I said nothing." Draco stutters.

"Are you sure?" Ursa growls. "I thought I heard you say something that would get you cursed."

     "I-I didn't. I won't tell them anything."

"Good." Ursa releases Draco and takes a step back, her irises returning to normal. "Now beat it." Draco nods and scrambles away and his gang follows him. Harry and Ron both laugh, Ron laughing so hard he's doubled over.

"That was amazing." Ron says. "I've never seen him that terrified."

"He knows what will happen to both of us if he tells our parents." Ursa says as they start walking down the hall.

     "What will happen?" Hermione asks.

"I would get kicked out and I would curse his ass so hard on my way out." Ursa replies. "And make sure they knew how long Draco had known before telling them. Well that's one of the best things that could happen."

     "What's the worst?" Harry asks.

Ursa stops walking. "I think you know Potter."

"They really- They would?" Harry asks in shock.

"Do what? Kill you?" Ron asks jokingly.

"Yes Ron." Ursa says. "Never doubt how far a proud pureblood family will go to maintain their image."

"Wow." Hermione says as they start walking again.

"Yep. Life is very stressful. So are you two still not talking?"

     "Who?" Ron asks.

     "You and the 'champion.'"

     "No."

"I gotta go study my Summoning Charm." Harry says before walking away.

"And I need to go... somewhere." Ron says before walking the other direction. Hermione sighs.

"Ron still doesn't believe that Harry didn't enter his name." Ursa scoffs.

"Potter is not powerful enough to mess with Dumbledore's age line or the Goblet itself. Only a very powerful wizard can. Even I tried."

     "You did?"

"I was able to get past the age line with careful spells but the goblet would not let me. And the age line activated right after I tried. Dumbledore is still more powerful."

That evening, Ursa walks into detention early and sits at a table. She gets out her Divinations homework and starts working on it. Harry walks in first and Ursa ignores him. When Ron walks in, Ursa turns to him. "Weasley, how do you do you Divinations homework?"

"I usually fake it." Ron says and Ursa groans.

"Great." Ursa says sarcastically. "Am I the only one who actually tries in that class?"

"Probably." Ron says. "How'd you get detention?"

"You two got Snape irritated and I got in trouble for rolling my eyes."

"Quiet." Snape snaps as he walks in. "Weasley, Potter, you will be pickling rat's brains. Malfoy, do your homework."

     "Already doing it."

"What?!" Harry exclaims. "She doesn't have to the same thing?"

"Focus on yourself." Snape snaps at Harry. "Get to work."

November 17 (Thursday)

Draco runs up to Ursa. "Our parents are here." Draco says.

"What? Shit where? Why?" Ursa asks.

"Hogsmeade." Ursa sighs in relief. "To watch the tournament. They want to have dinner with us tomorrow."

"Great. Just great. How long are they here for?"

"Well the task is in a week so at least that long."

     "Fun."

"I would warn the Mudblood to stay away."

"Good idea." Ursa groans. "This means I have to put my hair up and wear makeup doesn't it."

"Only for the task and dinner. And if you go to Hogsmeade this weekend."

"Dray, do you honestly think they won't find a way into the castle or find some way to watch us? Specifically me."

     "Why you?"

     "Expelled from Ilvermorny, had detention."

"Right. Go tell the Mudblood to stay away."

"Don't call her that." Ursa says before jogging away. She finds Hermione after a few minutes. "Hermione! I need to talk to you."

"I'm in a hurry. Can it wait?" Hermione asks.

"No, but I can walk and talk."

"Alright." Hermione says and Ursa walks next to her.

"My parents are here for the first task."

     "Why?"

"My father is one of the Minister's top advisors. They're staying in Hogsmeade so until they leave please stay away from me."

     "Okay."

     "And in the castle too."

"Alright. The boys will be happy about that."

"You mean Potter? I don't really blame him for not liking me. My brother is an ass."

November 18 (Friday)

"Hello Cub." Narcissa says as she hugs Ursa outside Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop.

"I've missed you." Ursa says. "I did not realize the tea shop served actual food.

"They do not, we will be eating at the Three Broomsticks. You father and brother have to do something before dinner and I thought we could have tea while they are off doing whatever."

     "Sounds fun."

Halfway through dinner, Lucius takes Ursa out back. Neither of them notice Hermione nearby. "Do not talk back to us. Especially in public. You know that." Lucius says.

"But I-" Ursa starts before she's interrupted by Lucius drawing his wand.

     "What did I just say?"

"Do not talk back, but I-" Lucius interrupts her again with the tip of his wand at her throat.

     "You are very disappointing."

"Hey! Leave her alone!" Hermione yells at Lucius.

Both Malfoys look at Hermione. "Excuse me?" Lucius says with a raised eyebrow.

"I said 'Leave her alone!'" Hermione repeats.

"How dare you speak to me like that?" Lucius asks shocked.

     "Leave h-"

Ursa interrupts Hermione. "How dare you speak to us?" Ursa spits. "I do not need your help, you filthy Mudblood." Hermione looks at Ursa in shock and betrayal before running away.

After dinner, Ursa searches Hogsmeade for Hermione. She finds her and Harry. "Hermione!" Hermione ignores Ursa. "Hermione please! Im sorry!"

Hermione stops and turns around to face Ursa. "I have been helping you in Charms and then you call me a Mudblood. I thought you weren't like them."

"I'm not and I'm sorry." Narcissa spots them, unable to hear them.

"Leave her alone Malfoy." Harry spits.

"I'm really sorry. I was trying to protect you. My father, he knows you are Muggle-born and would not have hesitated to hurt you. It would have been suspicious if I asked you to go away nicely and I was already in trouble."

Hermione sighs. "I forgive you. Just never say it again."

"Thank you." Ursa says. "I promise. I won't."

That night in the common room, Draco approaches Ursa. "What the hell?" He says. "I thought you told Granger to stay away from you Ursa."

"What are you talking about?" Ursa asks.

"Mother saw you talking to her and Potter."

     "Crap."

"Why were you talking to them?"

"I was only talking to Granger. When Father took me out back, he threatened me with his wand and she saw. She tried to tell him off and defend me. And um... I called her a 'filthy...' you know."

"You called someone a Mudblood. I'm so proud."

"Shut up. It wasn't my proudest moment. Father would have hurt her so I needed her to go away. What else was I supposed to say? Mother must have seen me apologizing."

"Well luckily for you, she could only see Potter's face and he looked angry."

     "He was."

"You need to be more careful."

November 19 (Saturday)

Draco sees Ursa walking down the street. "Hey watch this." Draco says to his gang. "Hey Ursa!"

Ursa turns around. "What do you want Dray?" She asks.

"How's it feel to have no friends?"

"How does it feel to be failing a class?"

"Someone find a teacher." Harry says. "The Malfoys are going to fight again."

Draco stomps closer to Ursa and a small crowd of students start to gather. "I am not failing! At least I'm not a bitch!" He says.

"Their parents are here for the tournament." Hermione says. "This is going to be interesting."

"At least I was not turned into a ferret." Ursa retorts and the crowd chuckles.

"At least I wasn't expelled for using magic in front of and on Muggles!" The crowd gasps.

     "That was self-defense!"

"Turning a Muggle into a frog because they weren't leaving you alone is self-defense?"

"It is when the Muggle is an 18 year old guy harassing and trying to touch a 14 year old girl that already turned him down. Besides, at least I do not have Daddy issues." The crowd grows as people laugh.

     "I don't have Daddy issues!"

"So that was not you who got scared when I joked he was in the Great Hall?" Ursa smirks.

"You know he has a tendency to accidentally sneak up on us."

Neither of them notice their parents walking down the street. Narcissa notices the crowd. "I wonder what is going on." She says.

"How about we go see?" Lucius suggests. They turn towards the crowd.

"At least I don't need help in a class!" Draco accuses.

"Yes you do! You are failing Transfiguration." Ursa replies. "At least I am not scared of a girl."

"I am not failing! And I am not scared of a girl."

Ursa draws her wand and steps towards Draco. He yelps and jumps back, tripping over himself and landing on his ass. The large crowd and Ursa laugh. Their parents approach the edge of the crowd.

"Yeah. You are totally not afraid of a girl." Ursa says.

"You jinx me! You're fucking psychotic!" Draco says.

Narcissa's head snaps towards the middle of the crowd. "Draco." She says.

"You say tomato, I say tamoto." Ursa replies.

Narcissa and Lucius both sigh. "And Ursa." Lucius says. "Why am I not surprised?"

"You know what!" Draco yells. "At least my favorite person isn't a psychopath that's in Azkaban."

"You did not just go there!" Ursa shouts. "She has not been my favorite person since I was little."

"Then why is the bear she gave you always on your bed?" Draco smirks and pulls an apple out of his bag.

Ursa points her wand and casts while Draco brings the apple towards his face. "Draconifors." The apple turns into a little dragon and Draco drops it with a yelp.

     "What the hell?" Draco shrieks.

"Oppungo." Ursa says with her wand pointed at Draco. The dragon flies up and shoots fire at Draco. Draco yelps and steps back. He starts running around the circle when it follows him. The crowd and Ursa laugh at Draco's shrieks.

McGonagall pushes through the crowd yelling. "What is going on here?" McGonagall sees the dragon and changes it back into an apple as the crowd starts to disperse.

"Just a fight between siblings Professor." Ursa answers.

"'Just a fight'?!" Draco yells. "You turned my apple into a bloody dragon and made it chase me!"

     "Miss Malfoy?" McGonagall asks.

"Yes that is exactly what happened." Ursa says. "After exchanging some insults."

"Detention Miss Malfoy." McGonagall says sternly.

"I figured. It was worth it."

"And twenty points to Slytherin for impressive Transfiguration and control of it." McGonagall leaves.

Ursa smirks at Draco and he glares at her as the end of the crowd leaves. Draco's glare turns into a smirk when he sees their parents walking up behind Ursa. "What are you smirking at?" Ursa raises her wand. "The apple is still right there and I can make it bigger to wipe the smirk off of your face." Narcissa reaches over Ursa's shoulder and plucks Ursa's wand from her hand. "What the hell-o." Ursa says as she turns around, turning her "hell" into a "hello" when she sees their parents. Ursa backs up until she is standing next to Draco. Draco continues to smirk at her and Ursa elbows him. "Stop smirking. You started it."

     "What happened?" Narcissa asks.

"Someone must have decided to start trouble." Ursa answers. "Which evolved into us insulting each other."

"Then you turned my apple into a dragon!" Draco exclaims.

Ursa smiles proudly. "Yeah. And quit being a baby, it was tiny."

     "It could still breathe fire!"

"I would have put you out! ... Eventually."

"Enough!" Lucius exclaims before sighing. "I really hope you two do not act like this all of the time."

Draco and Ursa look at each other. "Only when one of us angers the other." Ursa says.

"Which is usually you angering me." Draco say.

"No it usually starts with you being stupid or mean to someone."

     "I am not stupid!"

"Tell that to your Transfiguration grade!"

     "I am not fail-"

     "Stop. Bickering." Lucius says firmly.

Narcissa pinches the bridge of her nose and speaks. "Please behave. Be normal."

"It is either behave or be normal. We cannot do both. This is normal." Ursa says and Draco elbows her. "Do not elbow me you know it's true."

"Quiet!" Narcissa says. "Just try to behave, please."

"Yes Mother. May I have my wand back?" Narcissa hands Ursa her wand and she takes it. "Thank you." Ursa turns to Draco. "You know maybe I should find that ferret spell. You were a very beautiful ferret."

     "Ursa!" Draco exclaims.

"What are you talking about?" Lucius asks.

"Don-" Draco starts before Ursa interrupts him.

"Draco tried attacking Potter while his back was turned and Professor Moody tuned Draco into a very beautiful white ferret." Ursa says with a big smile.

"You tried to attack someone when their back was turned?" Narcissa asks.

     "Like a coward?" Lucius asks.

"In Draco's defense, Potter had just insulted you and Draco, Father." Ursa says. "Then I threatened Potter. And Professor Moody after Professor McGonagall turned Draco back."

"You threatened a teacher?" Narcissa asks.

"I'm the only one who gets to terrorize Draco."

"Just go before you two disappoint me more." Lucius says with a sigh.

"Yes Father." Ursa and Draco answer at the same time before walking away. Their parents watch them walk away and bicker again.

"Did you have to bring up the ferret?" Draco asks.

"Did you have to bring up getting expelled?" Ursa retorts.

"I didn't bring it up in front of them!"

"I'm surprised they did not comment on me talking about your Transfiguration grade."

"Oh you wanna bring up grades? How's your Charms grade?"

"I just need a little help to get Outstanding. I am not failing it like you and Transfiguration."

"I am not failing it! I'm just not as good as you." Draco shoves Ursa.

     "Hey! Ass."

     "Bitch."

"Bite me." Ursa sticks her tongue out and they both laugh.

Lucius sighs. "I told you we should wait at least a year between children, Cissa"

"You know getting pregnant with Draco was a happy accident." Narcissa says. "At least they get along most of the time."

"What time is it?" Draco asks.

Ursa looks at her watch. "Oh crap! I'm late to help Hagrid." She says.

"I still cannot believe you are helping that oaf."

Ursa hits Draco. "I told you to stop calling him that. He is sweet."

     "And annoying."

"You're really asking to get your ass cursed aren't you?"

"Shut up and go help the stupid little creatures."

"You are really asking to be cursed, stupid little brother." Ursa says before running off.

"Did she say what I think she did?" Lucius asks with disgust on his face. "She is going to help that half-breed... with creatures."

"I swear that child's heart is too big for her own good." Narcissa says with a sigh.
