somewhere in italy...

~marco donati's pov~

Marco requested his future wife to meet him at his favourite restaurant which served only the best of the best cuisine in Italy. "Only the best for my future wife." He thought bitterly.

He was certainly surprised seeing Ophelia again in years. Even though it has been a while, he knew that Ophelia has certainly changed from when she was a teenager. She has matured a lot, obviously. But she has grown much more beautiful within the years. He heard a few things about her from his old man. Marco heard that Ophelia was making her mark as model in America, so when he saw her for the first time, he saw that she definitely had a model's body. She had a perfect figure with curves in the right places. Her legs were slim and defined, Marco imagined those wrapped around his waist.

What surprised him even further was her sharp tongue. The way she said wife, it was as if the word was bitter in her mouth and she wanted to spit it out. But, this only made her interesting for him. "This is certainly going to be fun." He thought.

Marco waited patiently for the Kokinos Princess to grace him with her presence and God, she was certainly taking her sweet time.

He took drunk his white wine slowly and at the corner of his eye, he spotted the familiar Blonde Greek walking his way. Finally.

"Glad of you to join me in such a hurry." He mused, placing his wine glass back on the table.

Ophelia sent him a bitter smile, quickly placing herself on the chair in front of Marco. "Have you been waiting long?" She questions, pouring herself a glass of the white wine that Marco was drinking only a few seconds ago.

He shook his head in reply. "Only half-an-hour. Not long at all." He replied, sarcasm laced in his voice. He was provoking her on purpose. He wanted to know how long she kept this false, graceful persona.

Ophelia Kokinos was like a glass ball. He could see right through the sweet act she was performing.

"I apologise, Mr. Donati. It took a while looking this good." She spoke arrogantly. And she is narcissistic. Just my type. He mentally added sarcastically.

"Marco," He corrected. It was only right for her to call him by his first name since they were to be married very soon. "Call me Marco."

She nodded. "Right, Marco."

Marco called the waiter over and he and Ophelia ordered their food. He ordered his usual tender steak, something he always got when he ate at this restaurant. Ophelia ordered a fish meal of some sort.

"I met your father today." Ophelia stated, breaking the ten second silence between them.

"And what did you two talk about?" He asked curiously, hoping the old man didn't say anything that would make Ophelia suspicious of his true intentions.

It was an agreement that when Ophelia and Marco were married, he would instantly got a hold of his father's company along with portion of the Kokinos Hotel Empire. But to that, he had to get permission from Ophelia when she took over. Marco knew that Ophelia would do no such thing, however, if his plan worked out, he would be able to get what he wanted. Then he would able to get rid of her once and for all. It was unknown to his father that Marco was planning to get rid of Ophelia after and he wasn't planning telling him any time soon.

Ophelia stayed silent for a while as if she was thinking what she should say. "Nothing that should interest you." She answered haughtily, taking a sip from her wine glass.

He cocked an eyebrow. "How do you know it won't interest me? You don't know me at all."

The Greek woman only scoffed, rolling her blue eyes. "I know enough, Marco."

Marco clenched his fist under the table, his temper was going to blow soon if his fiancee kept this up. "And what do you know?" He asks sarcastically.

She leans forward on her seat, propping her hands on the table and rested her chin on her hand. She looked elegant. Like a Queen. However, what she looked like was completely different from her personality.

"I know that you have quite the reputation with women." She started to speak. "I know you have been in countless relationship with all kinds of women. Married or single. I know you have quite a large of amount of lovers, some you still have and some you have tossed away like rubbish."

Marco lets out a bitter laugh. "Yes, you know a lot about me." He stated with sarcasm. "You think you suddenly know everything about me because what the media had said about my romance life?"

She rolled her eyes. "I would hardly call it a romance life."

He quickly dismissed her smartass comment. "You don't really know me. You couldn't possibly know about my relationships and lovers without the media involved. You're judging me because of what the media thinks and that, my dear, tells me a lot about what you are like."

Her jaw clenched as she sent a glare to his direction. "You do not know who I really am. You haven't even tried to really get to know me."

Marco smirks faintly, taking another drink. This was exactly where he wanted her. "Isn't that what you are doing right now?"

Her glare dropped as her mouth formed a small 'o' shape. "You bastard."

A laugh escapes Marco. "There we go, now that I know the real you, how about we get some wedding plans sorted?"

It was too easy for him. Way too easy. If it was this easy on getting to know what the real Ophelia Kokinos was like then it would be easy getting her to fall in with him. He finally made up his mind. He would get her to fall in love with him in order for him to get a portion of Anders Kokinos company, then Marco will toss her aside. It would be amusing for him and self-benefiting for his future.

"Y-You..." She stuttered in anger.

"A relationship is all about honesty." He stated in amusement.

Ophelia suddenly smirked which shocked him. "Oh really? If a relationship is all about honesty, then why hasn't your father given you the company? He is ready to retire and you are well trained to take over. So tell me this, Marco, why haven't you taken over? Not to mention there are rumours about your father not giving you the position due to your...oh, how do I put this? Your man-whoring ways. So please explain to me, future husband."

"God damnit." He cursed mentally

It was her turn to look smug and she was rubbing what I just said to my face. "A relationship is all about honesty after all." She threw his words back at him.

His mind was suddenly. He couldn't think of a lie that would worm him out of this. He was pretty good at lying even at a young age. He has lied to his lovers, the media, everyone. So why couldn't he think of anything when it came to this one women?

Was it because she was different from other women he met? No, he met women like her before. Rude, narcissistic and hated him with a burning passion. But eventually those women would end up in bed with him.

"I am waiting for an answer, Marco."

Think, think, think.

Then Marco said three words. The three words that he never said to anyone. Not even to his family.

But here he found himself saying those three dreadful words to a bitch of a woman who was slowly twisting his gut.

"I love you."

HERE WE HAVE CHAPTER SEVEN! I know what you are thinking, why the holy hell is it in third-person? Well, it is because I feel more comfortable writing in third-person when writing in Marco's "POV." I don't know why. But I just do.

So when it is Marco's "POV" it will be written in third-person. But when it is in Ophelia's POV, it will be written in first person. This is just what I feel comfortable in. If you don't like it, then well...too bad?

Anyway! So onto better news, I have finished writing the final chapters of TN. All I need to do is to publish them. So basically I'm done writing TN. So now I can focus this book!

I hope it won't take too long writing this because the chapters are actually fairly short. Then I can focus on The Other Devil for those who are asking.

So things are looking quite dramatic for Marco and Ophelia. Who know what will happen next?

See you in the next chapter!

Have a lovely day or night!
