Chapter 1: Confrontation
Los Angeles, California: 4th of July, Nighttime.
Chef Hatchet was not in a good mood right now. It had been a week or two since him, Chris, and the entire left the contestants on the island with that damn killer. People who had seen him and Chris on the mainland and not on the island like they were supposed to be were starting to ask questions.
Chef knew he should've said something, he knew he should've done more. But his loyalty to Chris stomped his doubts out.
"Sergeant Hatchet?" came an all too familiar voice, causing Hatchet's eyes to widen in terror.
Hatchet slowly turned around and saw someone he genuinely wasn't expecting to see anytime soon. Francis Kasuga, the head of the Canadian Branch of the Yakuza and the Treasurer of the High Table.
"Mr. Kasuga," Hatchet greeted.
"My daughter signed up to be on McLean's show," Francis said calmly. "The application and the contract said she would be there for a month. And yet, no footage has been released. And here you are while McLean is inside partying."
"Sir, I can explain-" Hatchet tried to say.
"If anything were to happen to my daughter, I will make both you and McLean wish you had never been born," Mr. Kasuga warned. "If I find out why you and your boss left without the contestants, there will be dire consequences."
With that, Francis left just as McLean came out.
"Hey, Chef!" McLean called out. "Who was that?"
"Heather's father," Hatchet replied simply.
"What did he want?" Chris asked, uninterested.
"He was demanding to know why we're here and why he hasn't seen one episode of the show," Hatchet replied. "Chris, he's the first of the contestants' families that are starting to ask questions. And he's the one I was really hoping wasn't the first."
"What does it matter, Chef?" Chris asked in annoyance.
"It matters because Heather's father is someone you really don't want on your ass!" Hatchet shouted. "And you really don't want that either."
"Dude, they signed up for this, it's in their contracts," Chris argued.
"They signed up to be in a competition!" Hatchet shouted angrily. "They didn't sign up to be trapped on an island with no protection and no supervision! They didn't ask to be trapped on an island with a killer on the loose!"
"We are done talking about this!" Chris finalized. "We will go back once their time on the island is over, just like their contracts say."
"....yeah, and how many of them will still be alive by then?" Hatchet questioned. "I mean, you do realize once word gets out about what really happened on that island, no one is ever gonna wanna hire you again, the producers are gonna be livid that we let this happen, and we'll both lose tons of money just from the lawsuits, don't you?"
Not wanting to dignify that with a response, Chris just simply opened the back door and got into the car. Hatchet sighed in frustration before getting into the driver's seat.

Later, Hatchet sat on the couch in his apartment, watching TV. Just then, a news report came on.
"BREAKING NEWS!"
Hatchet sat up a little straighter.
"Earlier tonight, a passerby happened to catch an interaction between Master Chief Hatchet, the Chef of Total Drama Island, and the father of one of the contestants."
Chef's eyes widened in horror, watching as the confrontation between him and Mr. Kasuga played onscreen.
"It would seem that while Chris McLean and Chef Hatchet are partying it up on the mainland, the 22 contestants are currently unsupervised. People are starting to wonder why not a single episode of the show has been released yet. What could be going on the island at this moment? Stay tuned, for more."
Chef turned off the television, covering his face in shame. Finally, he turned to a nearby table phone and stared at it. Finally, he walked over to it and picked up the phone and dialed a number. After a few minutes of listening to the ringtone-
Click.
"Hello?" a deep male voice said on the other end.
"John, it's Hatchet," Chef said. "I need your help."
