Part 7
"Dad!" Arnav woke up sweating horribly from a nightmare, he looked around trying to find his father who was here last night putting him to sleep but now he wasn't around.
He stepped down from his bed and headed out of his room and straight to his father's room hoping to find some comfort in him, he stopped at the door and wondered if he should disturb him this late at night or just head back to his room.
The noise coming from inside his father's room changed his mind making him realize he was awake so he wouldn't be disturbing him. He slowly pushed the door open but was met with a sight he wasn't willing to see.
He turned around immediately and rushed back to his room, jumped on his bed and started crying, the next moment the door to his room opened up and Anjali walked in worriedly.
"Arnav, why are you crying? Did you have a bad dream?" She asked as she rushed towards him and hugged him.
Arnav just nodded as the visuals ran in his mind, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get rid of it.
"Mom... Where is mom? I want mom." Arnav cried as he hugged Anjali tightly.
"She will be back tomorrow Arnav, I know you miss her but I am here for you and mom will also be here by tomorrow so relax okay? Just close your eyes and try to sleep." Anjali said.
He nodded as he lied down on the bed while Anjali sat there singing him a lullaby, once he was asleep, she headed to her room to sleep too.
*****
Arnav sat up on the bed, panting for breaths, whenever he remembered anything about his childhood, it always left him like this.
He looked besides him, Khushi was deep asleep, she looked so innocent while she was asleep, only if he dint know what she was like, he could actually believe she was as innocent as she claimed to be.
Every time he thought of his past and his father, it made him hate her more and more, never in his life had he thought that there would come a day that he would be married to her, the girl that he hated more than anything.
He kept on staring at her wondering how great an actress she was and how she always managed to put up such an innocent act that even had Anjali fooled, if he dint know her real face, he could to have believed that she was as innocent as she seemed.
He hated that she even had the audacity to pretend to be so innocent and naïve, how she always pretended she dint have much knowledge about the thing she called love making because that was so innocent, no wonder Anjali thought that he could fall in love with her.
He could, only if he dint know that all this was just a fake act and behind the act was the real Khushi whom he knew very well, so there was no way he was going to fall for her.
He kept on staring at her, he dint even know why he was staring at her, maybe just fighting an inner battle with himself.
Of course no one knew the real side of her other than him, but it was really strange how she just managed to look so innocent, so untouched, so beautiful.
"No Arnav, you can't look at her any other way. She is the one that ruined everything remember?" he said to himself as he tried to look away from her so her deceiving looks wouldn't change his mind.
*****
He rubbed his eyes lazily trying to wake himself up, his alarm had rang for the third time now, and he was going to be late for his meeting if he dint wake up now.
He sat up and stretched his arms battling with his eyes so they would open, and when he finally managed to open them, the first face he saw was of Khushi.
She was seated right in front of him smiling brightly.
"Good morning, I made you tea." She smiled beautifully. It looked like she was just out of the shower, he hair was still wet, she had it all pulled forward on one side and it was still dripping.
She looked beautiful, she had the kind of beauty that could put even the moon to shame, but just like the moon, her beauty too was tainted.
"I don't drink tea without brushing, and by the time I brush it will get cold." Arnav shrugged as he stepped out of the bed and headed to the bathroom.
"No worries, I'll warm it up for you." She said as she headed towards the door.
"There are servants for that, you don't have to do all this trying to impress me." Arnav said.
"I am not trying to impress you here, in case you forgot, we are married Arnav, and I am doing this because I like doing it, it just looks like you don't appreciate it." Khushi said.
"Well then don't do it, no one asked you to." Arnav rolled his eyes.
"I won't anymore, just when I start thinking you're nice you prove me otherwise. So now I'll do nothing for you, do whatever you want, I'll do whatever I want." Khushi said angrily.
"Great. Go do whatever you want then and stop bothering me." Arnav pushed the door and locked it, Khushi headed downstairs to the kitchen sadly.
She couldn't understand him at all, or why he was giving her mixed signals, he was only nice to her when he wanted to make love to her, the other times he was so mean and rude it was confusing.
But now she had made her mind, she wasn't going to forgive him, not even when he apologized and neither was she going to let him touch her again, not until he actually fell in love with her like she was in love with him, not until he started treating her good and respecting her and appreciating her, even if that meant having to wait for eternity.
*****
Arnav walked downstairs holding a couple of files in his hand and busy talking to someone on the phone, Anjali stopped in front of him so he disconnected the call and looked at her.
"I'm getting late for a meeting sis." He said.
"Then you should have woken up early, right now you need to have breakfast with your wife who has cooked for you with so much love and discuss where you're taking her for honeymoon." Anjali said.
"Are you sure you're talking to the right person sis? I'm not taking her anywhere." Arnav rolled his eyes.
"We'll talk about that later, right now we're having breakfast together." Anjali looked at him strictly as she grabbed his hand and pulled him along to the breakfast table. Khushi too joined them once she was done setting the table.
Once the served food, Anjali's phone rang.
"Excuse me I have to take this but you two better discuss where you want to go for honeymoon so I can get your tickets booked." Anjali stood up and walked away leaving Arnav and Khushi alone.
"I don't want to go for any honeymoon." Khushi said immediately.
"Why? I thought you loved such kind of things?" Arnav asked.
"Because honeymoons are for people that love each other, it's quality time between husband and wife and all that stuff which isn't between us so there's no point of it." Khushi said.
"Good to know, neither did I want to go, I'll head to work you can convince Anjali that neither of us wants to go since you don't have anything else to do anyway. Girls like you dream of a life like this don't they? Sit at home like a queen and spend a lot of money that your rich husband earns for you." Arnav rolled his eyes.
"What do you mean Arnav? You think I got married to you for money?" Khushi looked at him in shock, was this why he was always so rude to her?
"Well let's not go to that topic because I know a lot of things that you've done for money." Arnav said. Before Khushi could say anything, Anjali walked back so she chose to remain silent for her sake, but she couldn't understand why Arnav thought this way about her.
And what did he mean that she's done a lot of things for money? What is it that she did, why does he always behave like he knows some secret about her when she has no secrets at all?
*****
Arnav walked into his cabin angrily as he settled down, he seriously couldn't understand what game Khushi was trying to play here but only if she knew, he was the master of all games and he was always going to be ahead of her.
"Hey there." Lavanya smiled at him as she walked inside and hugged him happily.
"Lavanya, what are you doing here?" Arnav asked as he looked around worriedly.
"Don't worry no one saw that, and no one is going to see this either." Lavanya said as she quickly pecked on his cheek.
"I am a married man now Lavanya." Arnav smirked.
"Don't tell me marriage would change Arnav Raizada's ways, that too getting married to that girl, I mean why would you do it despite everything?" Lavanya asked.
"It was what Anjali wanted, you know I could never say no to her. But now that I'm married to her, I can find ways to make her pay for what she did to me, I think it's time for some revenge." Arnav smirked.
"What's going on in this little head of yours?" Lavanya laughed.
"You know when Anjali told me to get married to her I couldn't really say no but now that we're married I just can't take it anymore, the way she's always around me is driving me insane. I can't really leave her because Anjali won't let that happen, but what if she leaves me?" I smirked as an idea popped up in my mind. I dint want to spend any more time with her because that was just making me question the things I knew about her which I shouldn't be questioning because I saw everything with my own eyes. She had to leave before she made me think things I dint want to.
