Part 58
The Wedding
It's crazy how time flies right? One moment you're planning your wedding and you blink an eye and it's the wedding day already. It was a similar situation for both Arnav and Khushi, their most awaited day was here, today, all of Khushi's dreams were going to be fulfilled.
She was having a fairytale wedding, she was getting married to the only guy she has ever loved and most importantly, he loved her back.
When she left him, she never thought this day would come, she never thought that something like this was possible, she had made up her mind so strong, but with time, things changed as she learnt the truth and the more she got to know Arnav, she realized she had made a right decision.
Forgiving him wasn't easy, but so far it was worth it, and she really hoped that she wasn't ever going to regret her decisions.
To a certain point she was still a bit scared, what if things changed once they were married again? What if he became the Arnav that he was before?
"Hey." Tara waved her hand in front of her face bringing Khushi's mind back from wherever it was lost.
"You seem lost, what are you thinking?" Tara asked.
"I think I might be getting cold feet." She bit her lower lip nervously.
"You are joking! Why are you getting a cold feet? You've been married to this guy before." Tara said.
"Exactly the reason, I've been married to him and at that time it wasn't pretty. I am just scared, what if we get married and he goes back to his old ways?"
"Khushi, why are you getting married if you don't trust him?" Tara bent down and looked at me worriedly.
"I trust him, but you know that fear is going to be there. It's scary, you have no idea what I had gone through so forgive me for being a little bit skeptical." Khushi rolled her eyes.
"I know, it's scary, but for the past year or so, you've been dating him, hanging out with him, spending so much of your time with him, I mean at least all that time with him must have shown you how much he has changed right? Look, marriages are always scary and with what you had experienced, I get it, it scares you.
But look at Arnav, he has been nothing but great to you since you started dating, hasn't he been? So trust him Khushi, believe in your life and believe that whatever happened in the past will remain there, it won't repeat itself." Tara said.
Khushi listened to her silently and then nodded, she was right, if she was always going to be scared, it was just going to harm her relationship, she had to trust him, she had to believe that he wouldn't hurt her like that again, and he had proved that to her, for all this time, he had done everything to make her happy and to love her.
"You are right." Khushi sighed as she stood up and looked at her reflection in the mirror.
She was dressed in a gorgeous red lehenga with a baby pink veil, one wrapped around her shoulder and one covering her head. She had gone for a minimum jewelry look, just one necklace with matching earrings and mang tika in gold.
"You look prettier than I did on my wedding." Tara pouted making her laugh.
"Shut up, you looked prettier." Khushi giggled.
"Well let's say I looked pretty and you look pretty too. I mean which bride doesn't look pretty? Duh." She rolled her eyes as they both laughed again.
"So... you ready to go? Can't wait to see your groom?" She smirked.
"I can't actually, I know he must be looking so hot, how am I going to be able to take my eyes off him?" She laughed.
*****
Arnav was already at the wedding altar waiting for Khushi, Rohan was standing right beside him as they both discussed how beautiful the arrangements were, thanks to Khushi and Tara who had come up with the ideas and everything. They worked here day and night with the wedding planners to make sure it was done right, and it turned out to be more than perfect.
There were very few guests around, Arnav dint have any family left, so he had just invited some far relatives of his and some people that worked in his office just to have a few people from his side.
As for Khushi, her dad was there and Rohan and Tara and just some relatives, they wanted a really small fuss free wedding and that's what they were having.
He was dressed in beautiful sherwani that was a combination of white and baby pink, and just like Khushi had imagined, her looked really good in it.
"Here comes your bride." Rohan smiled as he looked at Khushi who was walking towards the altar holding her dad's arm, while the cameraman captured her entrance.
He was left with both his eyes and mouth wide open as he stared at her without blinking, she looked breathtakingly beautiful, so beautiful he couldn't believe that he was actually getting a second chance with her, what did he do to deserve her?
As she got closer, his eyes became moist, he just couldn't believe how lucky he was that she forgave him after all the terrible things he had done and now she was actually here, getting married to him once again.
"Aww, he's crying." Tara said as she looked at Arnav, as soon as she said that Khushi too looked at him and he actually had tears in his eyes which he wiped off quickly and pretended like he wasn't crying.
She stopped opposite him and smiled at him as she looked at him up and down just admiring how handsome he looked.
"Why the tears Mr. Raizada?" She smirked.
"Just can't believe how lucky I am that you agreed to get married to me." She smiled making her blush.
They were handed the flower garlands by Tara and Rohan which they exchanged and then sat down while the priest started chanting the wedding mantras.
"You are awfully silent today." Khushi whispered to her dad who was seated beside her silently.
"I am just worried for you. I don't want you getting hurt again."
"I won't dad, I promise. I will be happy, like you wanted me to be." She smiled.
"I wish we had a normal family, then today you wouldn't have to be getting married like this, you don't even have your mother by your side."
"And I don't need her dad, you are my mom and my dad, I don't need anyone else. Stop worrying too much and enjoy this wedding, I'm not going to get married third time now." She giggled.
"You better not." Shashi laughed as Arnav just looked at the both of them and smiled at how happy he looked.
At this moment he was missing his mom, he wished his father wasn't the man he had always been, then maybe today, he could at least have her by his side. He had no one at all, no mom, no dad, not even Anjali.
Why did God take everyone away from him? His entire family?
He was lucky that he was getting married to Khushi, she was the only family he had left, and he really dint know how he would have survived if she wasn't with him.
"If you hurt her this time, I'll break your bones." Shashi looked at Arnav angrily.
"Dad." Khushi gave him a strict look and then looked at Arnav who seemed pretty scared of Shashi which was kind of funny.
Even though there were very few people in the wedding, it was such a great wedding just because the arrangements were perfect. I mean what more could you ask for, a wedding at the beach, facing the ocean, the perfect amount of decoration and red and white on top of the sand, it was just amazing.
For Khushi, it felt like a dream, this were the kind of weddings she saw in movies, she had never thought that she was going to have such a beautiful wedding herself, and now that she was having it, it made her so happy.
"Can't wait to get done with this wedding and take you back home." Arnav said to Khushi.
"Oh really?"
"Yup, just wait and watch." Arnav whispered and he winked at her making her blush again, she knew exactly what was going on in his mind, because it was the same thing going on in her mind too.
When they were married before, they had got intimate, but it was never something that she had imagined or expected, it was never because of love, it was always just lust for Arnav, but now, it was all going to be different.
This time it was going to be love and only love, this time it was going to be about them both and not just him, this time there were no secrets, no hate, no other feelings but just love and she couldn't wait to experience that kind of love.
