Part 13

"Oh Arnav, you innocent boy." She laughed as she kept on stroking his thighs making him get more scared.

"You my dear are born in a rich family, this money you have is going to make you just exactly like you father. You are going to do a lot of horrible things with this money I bet and when you do, I promise you will remember me very well." She laughed.

"Why are... you... doing... this?" He stammered nervously.

"Oh Darling, have you never been taught this? There are two kind of people in this world, the rich who can make the poor dance on their tunes, and the poor who have two options, dance on the tunes or make their own tunes and make the rich dance, guess which one I am." She smirked.

"All this for money?" Arnav asked.

"What else do you think? A woman needs money to survive in this terrible world." She laughed

Arnav stood up and rushed away immediately as he locked himself inside his room trying to escape the torture his father had brought home for him.

It looked like his father was too blind to see what was happening to his son inside his own house, only if his mother would have been alive, then he could have had someone to tell what was happening to him and someone to help him.

How long did he have to go through this torture?

He woke up all sweaty from the nightmare and looked at his phone that was still vibrating, he picked it up and saw the screen flashing with an unknown number.

"Hello." He said as he received the call wondering who was calling him this late.

"Arnav! Thank God you picked up, please hurry, we are at the hospital, something happened to Anjali all over a sudden and we had to rush her to the hospital, please come soon." A lady on the other side of the call said.

He stood up from his bed immediately, asking the name of the hospital he rushed to the guest room to wake Khushi up.

"Khushi! Wake up! We need to go." He said as he walked inside the room, Khushi sat up looking at him in confusion as Arnav rushed towards her, grabbed her hand and pulled her along outside.

"What happened Arnav? Why do you seem so worried? Where are we going?" Khushi asked.

"Anjali is at the hospital." That's all he said, after that he dint speak even a word. They both got into the car and drove straight to the hospital.

Once they were at the hospital, Arnav parked the car and ran inside while Khushi followed him behind, she had no idea what had happened to Anjali or if she had any conditions from before so she was quite confused but she dint try to ask questions because she dint want to make things harder for Arnav.

"Anjali Raizada?" Arnav asked the receptionist who told him which room she was admitted in, he rushed up the stairs to the third floor where he met Anjali's friends.

"What happened?" Arnav asked.

"We don't know, she was doing well, we all were playing stupid games and then she fainted, we tried to wake her up but she wouldn't respond so we brought her here." One of them said.

"What did he doctors say?"

"Nothing yet, they are still inside."

He rushed towards the room and peeped in through the little glass window placed in the middle of the door, the doctor was still examining her.

"Is she okay?" Khushi asked as she walked closer to Arnav.

"No idea yet, I hope she's going to be okay." Arnav looked really scared, he was at the verge of breaking down.

"You love her a lot don't you?" Khushi asked.

"How about I put this way, the only reason I got married to you was because she wanted me to?"

"Okay, I get it." Khushi shrugged. So this was why he got married to her? Because Anjali wanted? Why would Anjali force him to get married given that Arnav dint even like her.

At first she thought he liked her but after all this time she knew he hated her and couldn't tolerate her, so why would Anjali even force him to get married to a girl he hated? Why did everyone seem to be playing with her life however they wished?

"Calm down Khushi, this isn't the time." Khushi said to herself, right now she had to be here for Arnav keeping her problems aside, so that's what she was going to do.

"How is she?" Arnav asked the doctor as soon as he walked out of the room.

"I don't know what to say." The doctor replied.

"What do you mean? Is my sister okay doctor?" Arnav asked angrily.

"Yes, for now, but I can't tell how long she will be okay, the brain tumor has grown, none of the treatments so far have helped much, so I'll advise the little time you have with her, spend it well." The doctor said as he walked away, Arnav rushed inside the room immediately but Anjali was sleeping so he couldn't even talk to her and ask her how she was feeling.

He just fell down on his knees and broke down into tears while Khushi stood behind him in surprise, of course she knew he loved Anjali a lot, but seeing him so vulnerable and broken was very unusual, Arnav always came out as a strong person, so this was definitely a new side to him.

"Hey... she's going to be okay." Khushi said as she bent down and put her hand on his shoulder, he turned around immediately and pulled her into a tight hug.

"Why does life have to be so unfair, why does she even have this stupid tumor. All I want is for my sister to live, why is that so difficult?" Arnav cried.

Khushi held on to him tightly as she tried to calm him down and make him feel better, she dint even know Anjali had brain tumor because neither Anjali nor Arnav had told her.

"I can't do this, I can't just sit here and look at her like this." Arnav said as he stood up and rushed outside, Khushi followed him in a hurry wondering what he was up to.

Arnav walked out of the hospital and started pacing around the outside there punching a few walls angrily.

"This is stupid, she is going to be well, that doctor doesn't know a thing." He said still pacing around.

"Arnav! You need to relax, you can't act this way." Khushi said as she tried to stop him but he wouldn't stop.

"She can't live me Khushi, she can't. Why am I the one to lose everyone I love? First mom, then dad and now Anjali, who will I call mine, who will be there that would love me? No! This can't happen, it's not true." He said as he struggled to breathe, he seemed like he was having a panic attack.

"Khushi... I'm not feeling okay." Arnav said as he knelt down and tried hard to breath, Khushi rushed towards him and bent down too, she dint know how to calm him down, he was clearly having a panic attack and she dint know how to help him, what was she supposed to do?

"Anjali can't leave. Please tell her not to leave me." He said still trying hard to breath.

"Oh God! Anjali is going to leave me. No! No! No!"

"Arnav relax, calm down look take deep breaths, go along with me okay, breath in and then breathe out." Khushi held him by the shoulders.

Arnav nodded as he tried to inhale deep breaths but it dint seem to work.

"Why are my hands shaking? Why am I feeling this way? Distract me, please do something, say something, just distract me." Arnav begged.

Khushi cupped his face and looked him into the eyes seriously.

"Look at me Arnav. You have to calm down okay? Anjali is inside, she's trying to live, so you have to understand it's not our choice, you can't change a thing but you can accept it.

Right now, she needs you, she needs her brother, you have to be strong for her, if you become weak like this, then how do you expect her to feel better Arnav?"

"I know, I am trying Khushi, I am trying not to feel this way, I have been so strong all this while, but after what the doctor said... it's... oh God, I can't freaking breath!" He said angrily trying to catch a breath, trying to inhale deep breaths and calm himself down.

Suddenly everything around seemed to be spinning, he held his head with his hand but nothing seemed to calm him down, or stop his panic attack. Khushi sat in front of him helplessly, she dint want to leave him alone here and go ask for help, neither did she know how to help him, what was a person supposed to do when someone was facing a panic attack?

She hadn't faced such a situation ever before, and now she was getting worried. At first it was late, no one was even around that she could ask for help, what was she supposed to do here?

She moved closer and pulled him into a tight hug trying to calm him down, while holding him in her hands, she could actually feel what he was going through, his entire body was cold and trembling she could feel how hard he was trying to breathe.

"It's not working Khushi."

"Okay, how about you try to stay calm, I'll rush in and call someone for help? Can you do that? For two minutes only, I promise I'll be back."

"No. Don't leave me alone. Just be patient I'll be fine, I'm trying to calm down."

"You aren't Arnav, it's getting worse!"

"Then help me! Distract my thoughts, tell me something else I can think of, something serious maybe but don't leave me!"

Khushi tried to come up with a lot of ways but she couldn't find anything so she used the last option she had, she never thought she was going to do this, but today she just had to.

She grabbed his face and moved closer to his mouth, parting his lips with hers, slowly and passionately hoping the sudden kiss would distract him a bit, at first she just brushed her lips against his because she was quite hesitant, but then the next moment she kissed him.

He did seem shocked at first, but then he immediately grabbed her face and kissed her back, his hands were still trembling but as he kept on kissing her he started to calm down, he started catching his breaths back and slowly he stopped panicking.

Once Khushi realized he was no more trembling or struggling, she tried to pull apart but Arnav wouldn't let her go, and quite strangely for the first time while he was kissing her, he had his eyes shut. She remembered every time they kissed before, she would shut her eyes and when she'd open them in between to look at him, he had his eyes wide open but today they were shut, as if all he wanted was to feel this moment, to feel the taste of her lips, to feel the texture, just the feeling and nothing else.

The only reason she kissed him was because it was a way to help him, and that was done but Arnav was still holding on and as much as she knew she shouldn't melt down and let him kiss her, she just did because it felt good, because maybe for the first time today this felt like a real actual kiss, something that wasn't just full of lust.

This was her first kiss in the true sense, where she felt like yes, it was her husband kissing her, not just some guy who wanted to sleep with her or anything.

The way he was slow, not rough, not in a rush, nothing of the things he did before, he was just slow, and passionate, at one point he even bit her lower lip but very lightly, and then pushed his tongue inside her mouth making her gasp.

She could literally feel her heart beating and a part of her dint want this moment to stop because who was she kidding, once it stopped everything was going to be like before.

A few minutes later he finally pulled apart looking at Khushi in surprise as he wiped the tears off his face.

"What? I did that to help you, I couldn't find another way." Khushi said in her defense.

"This isn't the first time I am kissing you, why does it feel like the first time then?" He looked at her in confusion. Khushi had no answer, she also felt the same way and she was trying to figure out the answer herself and she liked the facts that he felt the same way as she did.

"Oh Shit! Anjali." Arnav said as she stood up and rushed inside the hospital once again, at this time Khushi dint even have the strength to stand up and follow him. The kiss had just left her flabbergasted with a lot of questions running in her mind.

"I Love You Arnav, so much. I wish you could see it, I wish you could love me back, I wish it was a fairytale I thought it was going to be because loving you and not getting love back from you hurts so freaking much" She said as she tried to stand up and head back inside the hospital too.
