Chapter 7: Waking up in a strange bed...

*This story was entered for the #Wattys2016*

I felt my body shift under something soft. It felt so comfortable and fluffy like a cloud...not like I knew how clouds felt like.

Flipping over on my back I sigh in contempt. Though my body ached, whatever I was laying down on made it ache less.

Wait. My bed in the motel was not this comfortable, not even half. Where are the metal springs that poked my ribs every time I turned and the rough sheets that was ripping in the middle from me laying on the same spot for years?

Grabbing the foreign object in my hands from underneath me I slowly open my eyes.

Blinking my eyes to adjust to the lowly dimmed room I rub them trying to focus my vision to my unknown surrounding.

Looking side to side I instantly realize I wasn't in my room. "Where am I?"

Sliding my hand over my face I immediately hiss from the pain I feel on my cheek. Touching it carefully I feel it swollen. "What happened?"

Sitting up I swing my legs over the mattress and stand up. Looking down I realize that I wasn't wearing my uniform from O'Mally's which makes me panic.

I was wearing a long sleeve button down flannel shirt that reached below my knees.

Glancing around the room I see an opened door and make my way towards it. Walking through I see is an en suite bathroom. Feeling the wall to see if I find a light switch which I do I flip it up turning the light on.

The bathroom is huge, pretty much made of marble with a walk in shower on one side and a bathtub on the other side.

The cold floor made me shiver once I made my way to the double sink. The large mirror that occupied the wall revealed my reflection.

My eyes widened at the sight of my swollen and bruised face. Lifting my hand up I touch it, examining it. Furrowing my eyes I try to concentrate on what may have happened. Then it hit me...the man that I had waited on the night before.
"Did...oh my God." gasping at the memory that came rushing through my mind.

Glancing around I panic again. Did he hit me so hard that he knocked me down bringing me to his place? To have his way? To rape me?

Looking down I lift the shirt up. Releasing the breath I was holding once I see my underwear didn't have blood stains. "Maybe the bastard changed them?" I ask myself.

"I need to get out of here." turning around I turn off the light switch on my way out of the door.

Back in the room I make it back to the bed to see if I can find my clothes and shoes. Glancing around I find my shoes and quickly put them on. With no luck in finding my clothes I make my way to the door opening it quietly just in case he was out.

Taking a deep breath I stick my head out looking in each direction of the long hallway. Not seeing or hearing anything or anyone I slide out of the room making my way to my left. Reaching the end I come upon the top of a staircase. Descending carefully I look around making sure no one is around to see me.

On the final step I hear voices that startle me. Looking for somewhere to hide, I see a door across from the staircase. Rushing towards it I open and step in closing it behind me quietly. It's dark realizing it's a coat closet. Staying quiet I listen for the voices which are a bit muffled.

"I'm going up to check on her." a man's voice says. I can't really say I recognize it, but then again, why would I?

"Alright, I'll be right up. I have to check something in the office." another male voice says.

I had my ear against the door making sure their footsteps were far before I make my escape. Waiting a minute or so I open the door sticking my head out making sure the coast is clear.

Not seeing or hearing them I step out then decide to rummage through the coats. Finding one that will cover me I take it off the hanger then quickly put it on. About to go to the other door that seems to be the entrance, I hear screaming coming from upstairs...crap.

Going back inside the closet I can hear heavy footsteps rushing down the stairs. "Aiden! Come here!" I hear the man scream...Aiden?

After a few minutes I hear the other man. "What's the problem? Why are you shouting, you are going to wake her up."

"She isn't in the room. "

"What do you mean she isn't in the room? Did you check the bathroom?"

"Hmm, why didn't I think of that? Of course I did! I checked everywhere upstairs and I can't find her."

There was silence and I had to make sure I didn't make a sound until one of them spoke again. "She has to be somewhere in the first floor."

"Do you think she left?"

Silence until I hear footsteps walking towards the closet. Hearing the sound of something being pushed then an electronic voice, I hear a door open...must be the front door and he must of turned off the alarm system. I'm so glad I didn't unlock and open it if not it would have gone off.

"She obviously didn't leave since the alarm was still on. Check the other rooms on the other side while I check this side."

"Alright." I hear them say then footsteps moving away. Taking a breath I open the door quietly looking around. Closing the door behind me, I walk over to the door and open it. Unfortunately a robotic voice spoke up saying "Front door open"...Damn it!

Shutting the door I hastily make my way down the stone steps. Reaching the bottom I look both ways trying to figure out where I was or which way to go I decide to go to the right. Walking fast as I bring the coat closer to my body since it was really cold I look back to see if those men are behind me.

"ISABEL!" hearing my name from behind I quicken my pace.

"ISABEL! STOP!" one of them screamed out but I didn't. I have no idea why I would be in their house and I didn't care to find out either. I just want to go back to the Motel.

"STOP ISABEL...YOU ARE GOING TO FREEZE!"

Crossing the street I begin to run. The cold wind stung my cheeks but I didn't care. I had to continue running. There's a few people out and I know they were looking at me strangely but I ignore them.

I still don't know where I am except that it's the nice side of Boston. The big stone homes and fancy cars parked on the street makes it known.

Running out of breath I turn on another street which l notice leads to the train station. I have no money but if I can at least find a police officer and explain my situation he may be able to help me.

Keeping pace I cross the street one more time until reaching the depot. It was empty and looking around there was no sign of a police officer. About to go to a counter I hear a car screech from behind me. Hesitating, I see the passenger side and driver side open widely and two familiar bodies come out...Aiden and Brayden?

They glance around until their eyes land on me. "Isabel." one of them says with concern in his eyes. Looking in between them I turn on my heels and make a dart up the stairs. I don't know why I ran, I've always ran from men trying to get me no matter what the reason. All I know was that I woke up in a strange bed, room and house all belonging to them.

They began to shout my name chasing me up the stairs but I didn't stop until I raised my head and saw one of them on the top making me stop. Turning around I see the other twin. They had me trapped.

"Isabel, please. Stop running." the one behind me says calmly.

"We were worried, why did you run?" the one in front asked making me look up at him.

Worried? Why would they be worried? They don't know anything about me, only that I've been their waitress twice. "What do you want from me? Why did I wake up in your house?"

"Isabel. You are going to get sick if you stay out here in the cold. Please, just come back with us to our house and we can explain everything to you." the one from behind pleaded.

Shaking my head no. "I'm not going anywhere with you. I don't know you and what you want from me." raising my voice but once I did I started feeling light headed.

"Isabel? Are you alright?"

"I'm fine...just...I don't feel too good." lifting my hand up to my forehead I feel the sweat accumulating, it also felt hot.

Hearing footsteps to my side I feel two cold hands grab both sides of my face. "You are burning up. We are taking you home."

"I'm fine, whichever one you are." I hissed pulling my face away from his hands. "Just let me go home. I can take care of myself." trying to walk past him.

"No you're not. You are pale and the longer you stay out in the cold, the worst you are going to feel." snapping back at me.

I tried to argue but a wave of dizziness hit me and I stumbled back. Arms caught me tightly from behind. "No arguing. You are burning up and need to be seen by a doctor." the other one says as I felt my body being lifted up.

I felt so weak and my eyelids felt heavy. I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I wake up at their house and now I am about to pass out in their arms.

"Please...take me home. I can take care of...myself." I heard myself say lowly.

Feeling him tighten his grip on my body, I can feel his body heat around me though I was burning up. He felt comfortable. "Don't worry Isabel, you are going home where you don't have to take care of yourself anymore."

...the next thing I knew sleep overtook my body...
