Since I was sweaty, I decided to take a quick shower.

I changed into jeans and a grey long sleeved shirt with an owl on it.

Then I blow dried my hair and brushed it.

After that, I went into my room and grabbed a snack.

When it was closer to dinner time, I heard a knock on the door and saw Piper standing there.

"Ready to go?"

"Sure."

I grabbed my jacket and put it on.

Then we started walking.

"So um... after dinner Percy's going to come over to work on a project..."

Piper stops in her tracks.

"Wait, did you say HIM?"

"Um yeah... Percy."

She looks down and clenches her fist.

"That jerk... I don't really like him. Jason and him get in fights all the time about who's the better swordsman and whatever. He's a big headed self centered idiot!"

Well that explains a lot.

At lunch whenever she said his name like that, I was wondering why.

I sensed something else troubling her but I didn't press.

"Um, I'll just keep him in my side so you won't have to see him okay? Seeing how you are acting about him."

She sighs and replies.

"Okay."

Then we walked into the cafeteria with silence.

When we were there, I heard the others talking about the dance.

"Why do we have to go to this stupid thing anyway?" Nico exclaims.

Hazel sighs. "They're making us."

"At least I have you to go with." Frank looks down at Hazel.

She smiles. "Yeah."

Then they saw us approaching them.

"Yo Pipes!"

"Don't call me that Leo."

"Why not Beauty Queen."

"Because!"

"Rawr, looks like someone's in a bad mood. Hey Annabeth."

"Hey Leo."

"So how'd your first day treat you?"

"It was alright I guess."

"I bet it was better than mine. The first day I came here, I messed with Coach Hedges megaphone and he made me run laps around the school. My legs hurt for weeks!"

Jason punched him in the shoulder. "Man up Leo."

"Hey! That hurt man, it really did."

Jason ignored him and put his arm around Piper.

"So you still going to the dance with me?"

"Of course! I could never leave you with all those other girls hounding over you, begging for your attention."

"Speaking of which..."

I looked up and saw Drew walking torwards is with her posse in tow.

"Hey Jason. Do you have a date for the dance yet?" She put her hand on his chest. "No? Then you should go with me."

She was a pretty girl, I'll give her that. BUT she was one of those jerk girls who caked their face with too much makeup.

"Um hi? And... I already have someone to go with, Piper."

"Ohhh Dumpster Girl. Why do you even want to stay with her? She's a liar, saying her dad is supposedly Tristan McLean."

"Drew." Piper said, standing up.

"Piper, dear you're not wanted here, so why don't you just run along your little mommy. Oh wait, I forgot, you don't HAVE a mommy anymore. How sad."

Piper growled, and I mean literally growled.

"Why don't you run along along to where you belong. Tartarus. Or you could stay, and I'll give you a high five. Across the face. With a chair."

Drew laughed fakely.

"Oh, Piper dear, you wouldn't really do that now would you? You know I could get you suspended."

"Watch me. I don't care if I get suspended."

Then Piper lunged for Drew.

Jason grabbed her waist and held her back.

"Jason!" she yelled squirming,"Let me go!"

"Piper, calm down. Its okay. Drew wasn't going to do anything."

He put her down, and she took a deep breath then calmed down.

"Sorry Jason, I've just been having a bad day, um here I'm gonna go back to my dorm now."

She got up and ran out.

Right before she left, I saw her hiding a tearstained face.

"I won't miss her either."

I glared at her.

"Drew get out of here."

"Really newbie? You should know who you're talking to. And why are you even at this school anyway?"

"The real question is why are you here and being a pain in my side?"

"There's so many reasons you could be here you know, drunk parents with a unstable family or the classic, a rebel."

I clenched my fist. Her accusations hit a little too close to home.

"Does your butt ever get tired of all the crap that comes out of your mouth?"

"Dear that is comeback is so old and last season."

"Oh like you?"

This was where she ran out of snide remarks.
She stammered a bit and then back off.

"Whatever."

Phew. By now, the whole cafeteria had been watching us.

"I'm gonna go check on Piper."

I got up and walked out.

"Piper..."

No answer.

"Piper...!"

Still no answer.

I started banging on her door.

"Piper!!"

"Go away Annabeth!"

I heard sobbing.
Then I unlocked the door.

The lights were shut off, and there was a sobbing mess on the bed.

I went and sat on the bed and patted her back.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"I have a feeling this is more than about Drew."

She tensed.

Then she sighed.

"It's my dad."

AN So hey guys... Long time no see eh? I promise I didn't forget about you. I've been lazy... and stuff. Also, last week, it snowed and I only had to go to school on Thursday! One day! How awesome is that? I live down south by the way. In the states!
