Annabeth's POV
It was 6:00.

I was awake, early for school.

I went to my closet and looked for something to wear.

I decided on a heavy soft gray sweater, jeans, a blue scarf, a jacket, and boots.

Then I braided my hair to the side. Usually I just let it hang down, but it was my first day.

I packed my backpack. It was grey and the kind that had one strap over your shoulder, hanging to the side.

I put in notebook paper, binders, pencils, pens, the usual stuff.

Then I put in my architecture book, and drawing paper.

I loved drawing plans for buildings because I wanted to be an architect.

I checked the time. It was seven.

Then I knocked on Pipers door.

"You up?"

Piper opened it.

"Yeah. Lets go eat."

She had her hair in a side fishtail, with a feather. She was wearing a green long sleeved shirt, jeans, and a brown jacket.

We headed to the cafeteria.

We ate bacon, eggs, ham, buiscuits, pancakes, waffles, and talked.

Then it was time for first period, which was science.

"You want me to help find your class?" Piper said.

"Sure."

I looked at my map. I had circled and highlighted my classes.

"The science hall is over here."

She led me to the class.

"Good luck."

"Thanks."

I walked in the class. I was early.

The teacher was a woman. She was a medium tall, chubby teacher.

"Um hello. I'm a new student here, Annabeth Chase."

She was looking at her computer and I don't think she noticed me.

"Mam?"

"What is it!"

I stepped back a little, she was angry.

"Hello mam, I'm a new student. I would like to know where to sit."

At this point more people had walked in and were watching me.

"Sit wherever you want I don't care."

"Okay."

I sat down in an empty seat near the front.

I got out a notebook and a pencil.

Class started. The teacher still sat at her computer.

Some kids were staring at me, looking gossipy and curious.

Then the teacher stood up.

"Okay. We are going to do a science project. It's going to last for the next month. You must make something for a science fair. You will have a partner. They will be chosen randomly from this hat."

A science fair! I could do that. I didn't know about my partner though...

She had a really flat voice.

She pulled out her hat.

Then she started announcing the partners.

"Arisa Williams. Brody Matthias."

I saw a girl and a boy look at each other annoyed. Their body language actually said they liked each other though.

"Quincy Haven. Ariana Mason."

They were girls that looked at each other excitedly. Best friends.

She announced more names.

"Wren Adams. Dave Collins. Macy Irana. Franny Katina. Kade Shoemake. Ryan Means. Annabeth Chase. Perseus Jackson."

I looked up real quick. Perseus Jackson? That sounded like...

I saw a familiar black head with gorgeous green eyes walking torwards me.

He was smiling a cute crooked smile.

"Hey Annabeth!"

"Um hey. How do you know my name?"

"Oh... I just heard the teacher say it!"

"Oh." Idiot...(talking about me here)

"So what are we going to do?"

"Well, what about... like some organic project. We could talk about-"

Percy had zoned out but then jumped up suddenly.

"I know! We'll do a volcano!"

"Did you not hear a word I just said..."

"Sorry, I zoned out. But could we PLEASE do a volcano?"

He gave me huge seal eyes.

"... Fine... I guess."

I just couldn't say no to his eyes.

"Do you want to work on it after school?"

"Um, I'm usually a 'do it at the last minute' person."

"Well, not being my partner you're not."

"But-"

"No. Now after school come over to my room and let's work on it."

"Okay I guess..."

"Good."

The bell rang at that minute and we all gathered our stuff together and went out.

The rest of the morning passed really quickly.

I had English with a guy named Mr.Blofis.

Percy was in there and they seemed really friendly to each other.

We did this story thing where one person said three words and then the next and so on.

Then in math we did the Pythagorean Theorem.

In history we were learning about the World Wars, which was easy for me.

Then it was lunch. I sat with Nico, Piper, Jason, Leo, Hazel, and Frank again.

We talked and joked.

After lunch, it was time to face the rest of my day.
