"I WANT THOSE DRONES AND JETS DEPLOYED NOW!" The Russian minister of defense yells through a phone to the general of the military. A "Yes Sir!" Comes through as he hangs up and opens his laptop. Satellite imaging trying to get a picture and direct drone feed playing.

Meanwhile: United Nations HQ, New York, USA
"This morning in Russia at approximately 3:40 AM about 100 miles off from Moscow, a huge surge of energy triggered alarms all over the world accompanied by this screech" Vitaly Churkin (the UN rep for Russia in 2012) started as he played the ear-shattering screech. "At first we thought a nuclear bomb had gone off but as we checked the energy readings it was at least bigger by a factor of 10, so we quickly scrambled fighter jets and drones to scope the situation." He continued as he brought up the live drone feed.

The UN member looked on curiously as the drone pilot said they were approaching the source. Then it came into view, it was blurry but it was unlike anything they had ever seen. It was a giant, almost humanoid figure with long arms but no hands, or legs, and it was faceless. The drone pilot went in for a closer look but suddenly a blue glow emitted from the ground and a web-like pattern spread in the drone's direction making it freeze and crash. It then switched to the fighter jet feed which showed them closing in, but suddenly it raised its arms and aimed at the jets. Hundreds if not thousands of what seemed to be blades shot out of holes where hands were supposed to be. One jet got hit and immediately exploded while the other managed to slightly dodge and fire everything it had at it. Missiles and bullets all made direct hits but when the smoke cleared it stood there fine, with just a few scratches. It then turned its upper body and fired using both of its arms. Then the feed was cut. All the UN members stared in shock, Russia may not be the most advanced country but its missiles were nothing to sneeze at. Churkin then picked up his phone and started to talk with the minister of defense.

"My country has decided to send in a squad for about 20 aircraft equipped with many salvos of missiles to try to eradicate the threat since contact has been unsuccessful," Churkin announced as everyone had differing opinions but agreed anyway since no communication got through and it had proved dangerous. They watched in anticipation as the video pulled up once again.

"ETA 20 minutes" Churkin announced, once again they waited, and when they saw it again. The fighter jets fired as soon as they had locked on but it deployed that web of energy and most of the missiles stopped and fell to the ground. Some did make it through but again, not much damage. They kept firing and firing until they exhausted their supply. What remained shocked everyone, even more, it was damaged yet still not down.

"So what should we do about this "monster", we shouldn't inform the public just yet" Susan Rice (UN rep for America in 2012) recommended, and most agreed. They had to find some weakness in this thing or the whole world would be thrown into a depression. Unsurprisingly/Surprisingly Russia recommended nuclear weapons. Which was immediately shot down by a lot of countries. China then recommended a collaboration of the world's scientists to design a missile or weapon to combat this new threat. Most agreed on that but everyone was untrusting of everyone since relations weren't exactly the best at this moment. Others came up with some possible ideas such as; monitoring and collecting data on it. By the end of the 3-hour long discussion, the UN had unanimously approved the building of a lab in Switzerland for the best scientific minds.

The next day at 3:42 AM GMT+3 at the same location where the otherworldly being was located surveillance picked rising energy levels, the UN convened an emergency digital meeting, just after it started the being exploded sending shockwaves through Moscow and surprising everyone. The explosion had taken down most of a mountain and left a steaming crater in its wake, which was 3 times bigger than the Hiroshima bomb. This brought up a plethora of questions and they decided to hurry up the building. They also decided to have search teams ready to recover any remains. They found parts of a crystalline sphere, the missiles that didn't make contact, and some of its tissue/flesh. These were stored in a top-secret vault until the construction of the lab was finished, by February 2013 the lab was completed and everything moved in. The scientists immediately got to testing and collecting data about the material gained but since there was such a small amount each group was given only a small piece to work with. Japan, being the tech giants they are, quickly pulled ahead in the research discovering that the crystal was like a bundled core of energy and that was what had exploded. They had also discovered that the core still had retained some energy and this could be used to power a lot of things.

The U.S had discovered that the tissue had a very peculiar trait, it was kind of like a parasite when ingested or implanted into another living being. They tested injecting the tissue into a rat which gave the target strength and powers, but it quickly corroded the target and it turned into a mini version of the original. However, the 'clones' as they were called were nowhere near to powerful as their original and could be put down with conventional weapons but if only a limb were cut off it could regenerate in less than 7 days. So they continued researching until on that same day but now in 2013 another one of those beings which were now named the [_______] ( I cant think of a name, cause I'm bad. Plz suggest a name XD )

This time however it appeared in The Roman Colosseum, immediately the area within 11 miles/19 km in every direction was evacuated and jets were scrambled along with the navy. The air force was been equipped with 1 of the hypersonic speed cruise missiles that Russia and India are developing, the navy has also been upgraded with satellite guiding and HVP (hypervelocity projectile) guns that the US had provided can travel at Mach 3. The air force is also equipped with multiple BrahMos missiles capable of traveling Mach 3 and other high-speed missiles. The operation named "Sperimentare" (which is Italian for experiment) began at 4:40 AM Italian Time/ GMT+2.

The operation was a great success as all the world leaders watched on, Air Force quickly let loose traditional missiles and bullets making some hits, then the ship fire came in and it was the most effective so far. It was completely unaffected as far as they could see, the HPV's were also effective and soon the thing had been weakened quite a bit and looked like it was on its last legs. Cheers could be heard from all world leaders, they soon restarted their bombardment and let loose everything. However its core started flowing and alarms went off, the aircraft was given immediate orders to retreat and some made it but some got caught in the blast. Luckily they all survived. This proved to be a huge success, it proved they could be taken down by conventional weapons, the problem was that the only weapons that could take these monsters down were quite expensive to make.

Search teams were once again deployed to recover remains as well as help anyone who was caught in the blast. They recovered smaller parts of the core than last time and smaller amounts of tissue. Another problem was that there was no way to keep this problem out of the media this time around. The UN released some info that was accompanied by the video of its takedown as not to incite mass panic. The materials were once again transported to the lab to be analyzed, but this time around, the UN had approved human experimentation. They brought in fully informed individuals who knew all the risks before starting the first trial.

They had recently found these hexagonal crystals inside the parts of the core that were not damaged, they implanted these things into individuals while others received tissue to see what each one did. Some people corroded very quickly and were subsequently put down before they transformed, others showed immense changes in their physical performance. Their abilities became 10x better than a normal human, their healing factor was also increased. Just like the rats from before, when limbs were lost they would grow back in less than a week. However, fists alone were not enough to fight the (______)

Another development was that the people who received the tissue were weaker than the ones who received the crystals, their improvement was about 6-7x stronger instead of 10. It was like if you received tissue you would become a soldier but the ones that had crystals were like warriors. After 1 month of adjusting they began basic combat training but to the scientist's surprise some developed metal gauntlets and boots that were very tough and boosted their power. After trying to figure out what had happened they learned that the people who had gotten these weapons liked hand-to-hand combat better than weapons even before joining the program.

This revelation prompted the scientists to sort them into groups based on combat preference, they then learned that the subjects developed weapons based on what weapons they wanted and it could be as absurd as drones that could shoot lasers with pinpoint accuracy up to miles away to a generic katana. Of course, there were more irregular ones like a shield or bow or odd-shaped blades or even rocket launchers and sometimes vehicles with armaments. The best trainers from around the world were called in and the lab expanded. The training showed much promise and everyone continued to improve. However, there were drawbacks, for some reason people who trained too hard were very prone to transform into a nova and the humans were much harder to put down. By the time the next attack came around only 50 of the 100 that signed up had survived. The ones who had revived tissue were named "Valkyries" while the ones that received the crystals named "Vidre" (just crystal in Catalan, I'm bad at names to help) were called "Sotíras" (Again, this is just Greek for saviors 😔)

It appeared again the next year on the same day but now in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the government obviously scrambled weapons, and the Valkyries and Sotíras boarded jets heading for their first mission, Operation "Titans Fall".
