A Noble Appears

He woke up 2 days later and was released subsequently after his examination showed he was mostly fine except for some damage to his eyesight and muscles from using the talismans. "I got lucky, I couldn't have beat it without that memory. If I didn't have that flashback I would've been killed. I still don't have enough to beat these things, I've been slacking since I've gotten here. I have to stop this lax attitude." He thought angrily as he made his to his room to get some rest.

The next day he woke up and got breakfast before immediately booking a training room and clearing his schoolwork with the Principal. He then went to the training room and stayed there for the entire day working on new techniques.

"I should work on an ultimate defense move, I don't have many after all." He mumbled to him self as he took a sword stance, slowly breathing in and out directing his spell power into his arms. He asked Frost to make some projections of the strings that the monster was using so he could train. The first few times he couldn't keep up, he could sense them but couldn't get to all of them. So then he adjusted his tactics to rendering himself immobile except his arms, this helped and after 3 hours he finally got to a stage where he could cut most of them but 10 or so could still hit him. He kept training his move for another 2 hours before switching gears for another move.

This one was particularly dangerous because he was trying to split his power into different versions of himself, so each of his clones would wield one aspect of the power. The plus side is that If was able to pull it off then it would be like having his team with him again. The first time he tried only 1 clone and even that was difficult but he still managed to pull it off with him wielding Blaze and the clone with Frost but as a sniper rifle. He then projected more strings and found that the strings were too thin and flexible for bullets to hit so the clone changed to gauntlets and fought with him which yielded much better results. He then tried one more clone but he simply couldn't expand that much and collapsed.

The other problem with this move was that he was splitting his mind so if it got out of control he could permanently lose himself. That and it drained a lot of energy to split his mind and power into different people. However he kept pushing on, because he knew they were going to attack again and next time he didn't know if he could stop it. Hours passed and he simply lay there, breathing hard from trying to split himself, he had managed to improve the amount of time he could maintain one of his clones but he could make another. He switched back and forth over the course of the day between ultimate defense and ultimate offense.

He then also added talisman drawing to his regimen, he perfected the barrier one and now moved on to healing making numerous attempts but none really working. This led him to change to sword skills, starting with the more Beast like ones. He conjured Beast and Gust as swords for this one, starting with Pierce and Pluck. Which was just simple but powerful double Jab at one point of the target. Then Rip and Break, which was an X slash with both his swords meant to deal massive damage in one blow. Next he changed to Fire using Blaze, starting with Crimson Mirror which was a defensive move composed of one forward slash and one to either side to block attacks moving to Solar Dragon Dance which coated his sword in flames and he circled enemies attacking while doing so the ultimately going for the weak spot to defeat them.

He did this until it was dinner time going through 2 moves from every single one of the following; Beast, Fire, Flower, Insect, Love, Mist, Moon, Stone, Serpent, Sound, Sun, Thunder, Water, and Wind. Since he had skipped lunch and from all the training, he quickly ate dinner then went to his room for early rest.

The next day he attended class as usual and told his friends he had gotten a really bad fever so he couldn't come, while Saviors and Valkyries couldn't get life threatening diseases because of the tissue and crystals. They could still get non life threatening ones, so it was pretty believable. He resumed his regular school life but used all of his free time now for training skills. He didn't even notice most school events until they rolled around, this was true with the firework festival as well. That is until his friends literally dragged him into the student council room and gave him a happi to wear for the dance the student council was doing. The problem was that he didn't even know they were doing a dance for the festival so he had no practice and on top of that he had never danced before in his life!

So for an excruciating hour he was forced to learn the dance they were doing and it didn't go to well but he managed to get it decent enough for the stage performance and thank god some one was able to swap with him so he wasn't at the front. The performance went ok but god he was so embarrassed up there, he didn't like public speaking or dancing for that matter. He was sure he was going to pass out from the pressure he felt. After he changed clothes they spent some time together looking at stalls and having fun before going their separate ways to explore more. He visited a couple of stalls that had aiming games and won some of them, despite his best protests he somehow ended up with a panda plush. There were stalls selling all kinds of things from jewelry to sparklers.

"I wonder if Miku would've liked that." He thought as he saw a Sakura Flower hairpin with the center as a yellow crystal a She made his way to the ledge that over looked the school (see picture for reference) .

"I find myself impressed on how they could smile despite living in this world with threats on the horizon" he thought as he looked to the starry sky.

"I would have to agree with you on that thought, humans are indeed strange creatures" a feminine voice said behind him and he instantly shot up and materialized his katana. He was momentarily taken a back by how beautiful she looked but readied his stance nonetheless.

"Who are you?" He asked, no trace of humor in his voice.
"My, my. Are all humans this violent? Then again I suppose it is warranted. All those guesses on who I am and I have to say you did get the right one" she half answered
"Don't tell me you're one of the ______!" He realized and then swiftly went in for the kill however she dodged perfectly.
"Correct! Nice to meet you Seiji Shinozaki, I am one of the 8 nobles that rule our realm. Noble #5, Title: The Psychic." She revealed.

"So I'm going to guess you're pretty strong then, and by your title I can already guess what you can do." He said as he called for his main katana housing the personalities, which came flying to him. He quickly dawned his main gear and got ready to fight.

"Relax boy, I'm not here to fight, but we can if it's what you want. I'm merely here to observe but if you attack me again I'll have to counter attack, I don't think you want that. All 8 of us are very keen on observing you and your counterpart." She announced when she saw him get his gear. He slowly sheathed his sword but still kept on guard.

"It is as you say though, I wonder how all of them can smile and laugh when they could be attacked at a moments notice and die. Before you ask, we are able to take on a human form once we assimilate around 10 of you. However it does take some time for the bodily transformation. I am more interested in you and one other person than anyone else in the world, I suppose after seeing you I should go check up on your counterpart." She rambled before disappearing.

He went back to staring at the sky and noticed he was sweating pretty hard. "She excludes a silent but very threatening aura, I should inform the Principal then work on a way to beat her." He thought as he walked to the Principals office. After informing her he went to sleep so he could get an early start for the next day.

It's much shorter than usual but I felt like ending it here was nice.
