When she first saw Javier in the compromising position with Bethany, Jessica could only describe her heartache like an insatiable fire that burnt all the oxygen in her body leaving her listless and empty. They say once bitten, twice shy, but for Jessica it was more like forever shy. She couldn't see herself putting her heart out there again, she might not be able to survive another inferno.

She threw the balled up tissue towards her wastebasket and it missed causing her to sob some more.

I can't ever get anything right. I can't even thrown a stupid Kleenex in the wastebasket.

She grabbed some fresh ones from the box and blew her nose.

"Well don't you look like you've been hit by storm"

She looked up at Logan and found him standing just inside her doorway. When he saw her face he rushed over to her.

"What happened?" He asked pulling her into a hug that made her sob all the more.

He kept his arms around her and rocked her back and forth until she was able to talk.

"I saw him with her. With Bethany... At his house." She took a deep breath "She was naked below his desk and his pants was down. She was giving him a...a..."

"Its OK I get it. I'm sorry you had to see that Jess."

"Then to top it all off he tells me I have Isabella's eyes."

"You do" he said so quietly but she still heard him.

"What do you mean by that?" she asked confused

"Jessica did you ever do surgery on your eyes?" He asked

"How did you know that?" She asked moving away from him.

"I told you I remember. That night we kissed, I don't know but the thought of betraying Javier mixed with so badly wanting to kiss you somehow triggered something and I remembered...everything. Including how I got this scar on my forehead"

"You wanted to kiss me?" She asked wide eyed

"OK out of everything I just said that's all you heard?" He asked grinning at her looking nervous.

She dried her face and looked away from his revealing eyes.

How did I not see it before? How didn't I notice how he feels.

A fresh sob came rushing out and she covered her face and cried. She felt his arms come around her. And he pulled her back to his solid chest and let her cry.

"I'm so sorry Logan. I didn't know" she mumbled

"I know. I didn't want you to know. Right now I'm just tired of keeping things from you" he replied still rubbing a comforting arm down her back.

"What do you mean?" She asked

"You said your parents were killed in a car accident seven years ago right?"

"Yes"

"Were you in the car?"

"Yeah but how would you know that unless you..." she gasp in shock "Oh my God. Logan no"

She moved away from him, a feeling of dread swept through her. Realization dawn and suddenly it was as though a dam broke and flooded her with understanding.

"I'm sorry" he whispered

"I have her eyes. I literally have her eyes! When the accident happened my eyes were so badly damaged they operated soon after. She gave me her eyes? I have Isabella's eyes!?" She shrieked

"Jessica there's more" he said reaching to take her hand but she moved away from him. She saw the look of hurt on his face but this was all too much for her.

"Don't say it Logan" she pleaded

"I was the one driving the other car that hit your patents car. I killed your parents Jess. I killed Isabella."

"Shut up" She yelled moving away from the couch.

"It was dark..." He began

"We were coming home from my dance recital" she said sobbing.

"Isabella showed up at my house crying her eyes out. We sat on my porch talking and she kissed me. Out of no where she kissed me." he continued

"Just like I did" she said with understanding

"Just like you did." He agreed "Javier was parked in my driveway, he saw it happen. Isabella begged me to take her away. So we got in my car and started driving. It was his birthday so he went back to his party. I didn't know where we were headed but we kept on driving. I just wanted her to forget the fact that he wouldn't choose her over Bethany, choose her over one day being richer than he already was"

"You loved her" Jessica realized

"I did" he confessed "while we were driving it was all quiet. Neither of us wanted to say anything, but then she started crying. I took my eyes off the road for just a second to reach for her hand. By the time I looked up a deer was in or way, I swerved to avoid hitting it and ended up..."

There was no denying that he was sorry or that he blamed himself for what happened. The look of guilt on his face, the way his eyes were pleading with her to understand.

"Oh Logan" she shook her head and hugged herself.

"I killed your parents" he confessed as a tear rolled down his cheek.

"It was an accident" she told him softly

"I killed Isabella" he said shaking his head

"It wasn't your fault" she told him

"I could have killed you" he said with so much emotion she took slow steps until she was standing in front of him.

She looked at his hands, as though she were contemplating if it was the right thing to do, to forgive him.

This is Logan, the man who has always been there, the one who makes you laugh, the one who accepted you from the start.

She took his hands. "You didn't kill me. It was all an accident. I lost a lot that night but so did you. I forgive you LoLo you're my best friend"

His hands can around her as he pulled her into a hug.

"From sibling zone to friend zone, you're so good for my ego" he murmured against her hair.

She tightened her hands around him.

"Its a lot to take in, I have her eyes, he cheated, you..."

"You bastard!"

They pulled apart and turned to look at a angry Javier standing in the doorway.

I need to learn to lock my door.

"someone had to"

"This is none of your damn business!" Javier yelled

As Jessica looked at him, he looked like a man ready to attack. His eyes were wild with anger as he stared at Logan.

"I want you to leave." She told him quietly.

He looked away from Logan and blinked as he looked at her confused.

"Jessica I need to explain" he begged her

She moved closer to Logan when Javier moved a step closer. Logan put a protective arm around her. She saw Javier's eyes follow the action and anger was replaced with hurt in his eyes.

"I'm sorry" he told her then he turned around and left.

She turned to Logan for the hug she knew he would readily give.

"I'm here for you" he told her

"I know" she replied

"And Jess?"

"Yeah?"

"If you ever call me LoLo again, I'll put hair remover in your shampoo"

She closed her eyes and snuggled more into him with a half smile.
