As Starling assumed her role as leader of the Interceptors, she leads them on countless missions for the Sky Knights. Like her predecessor Ironwood, Starling leads the Interceptors with honor and distinction. As they rested on Terra Mesa, Starling was approached by Lightning Strike and Ace of the Storm Hawks. 

Starling: Lightning. Ace. 

Lightning: Starling. It's good to see you. 

Starling: It's not everyday you get to meet a hero like yourself. 

Lightning: We all do our part in this fight, Starling. I've come here to speak to you. 

Starling became interested in what Lightning has to offer. The Interceptors has conducted several missions with the Storm Hawks in the past. 

Lightning: We're making our move on the Cyclonian Empire. The time has come to rid Atmos of their evil!

Starling: Are you serious? 

Lightning: I am. I've assembled all the Sky Knight Squadrons of Atmos to lead a final battle against the Cyclonians. We're looking to strike at Terra Cyclonia itself. We would be honored if you and the Interceptors could join us. 

As Lightning said this, Starling was in shock. The war between the Sky Knights and the Cyclonians had been going on for years. To hear that the Sky Knights could very well end the war seemed impossible to hear. 

Starling: You're serious about this. 

Lightning: This war has been going on long enough. It's time we took the fight to Master Anarchis and end this war once and for all. We can bring peace to Atmos. 

That thought brought on various emotions to Starling's mind. She had been fighting for so long that it seemed that ending the war would forever change her life. Still, Starling was eager to end the war live a peaceful life. 

Ace: It seems Starling has doubts about your plan, Lightning. 

Lightning: Perhaps we should let Starling decide for herself, Ace.

Starling: If you believe we can end this war through this battle, then the Interceptors will gladly join you in this fight. 

Lightning: With you by our side, we can unite the Terras and rid Atmos of all the evil that plague it!

Starling: So when do we begin? 

Lightning: We attack tomorrow. We'll hit them with everything we got. 

With that, Lightning and Ace left Terra Mesa to prepare for the invasion. After that, Starling gathered Carth and the rest of the Interceptors to discuss the upcoming battle. 

Carth: So we can end the war in that battle?

Starling: Lightning is confident of this. 

Argus: Attacking Terra Cyclonia won't be easy. Even with all the Sky Knights involved, that place is a fortress. Master Anarchis will throw everything she has at us. 

O'Niner: Sounds like another day at the office, Argus. Still, I wonder what'll happen to us when the war's over.

Mason: I imagine we'll get shiny medals and praise for all our work in the war.

O'Niner: I don't think you understand what I'm asking, Mason. We're Sky Knights, but we're soldiers at the end of the day. We've been in this fight for so long. 

As O'Niner pointed this out, the Interceptors were quick to realize the merit behind those words. At this point of the war, fighting was all the Interceptors knew. Whatever paths they walked before the war was far beyond their grasps now. 

Starling: Then we'll just have to adjust. We fought this war to bring peace to Atmos. We fought this war so we can end the threat of the Cyclonian Empire once and for. At the end of the day, we may be soldiers, but we fight for peace. 

As Starling said this, the Interceptors took Starling's words to heart. Argus soon spoke up.

Argus: When Ironwood was our commander, a dream of his was to not only see this war end, but he wanted to see us all live normal lives. Before the war, I wanted to be teacher. Mason wanted to be a medic. O'Niner wanted to be engineer. As for Ironwood, he wanted to be a farmer of all things. But the main point I'm making is that he wanted to end this war so that we could all live the rest of our lives in peace without having to fight. 

As Argus recounted Ironwood's dreams, Starling thought about both her and Carth's dreams of being Sky Knights. However, the war had taken it's toll on Starling. Now all she wanted was to have a peaceful life with Carth. 

Starling: Then as Ironwood's successor, I promise to see that dream fulfilled. When this war is over, you'll all have the peaceful lives he wanted for all of us. Now let's get some rest. We need up with Lightning in the morning. 

As the Interceptors concluded their meeting, Carth spoke with Starling. 

Carth: Hard to believe this war could end tomorrow. 

Starling: I'm just ready to end this war. I'm...I'm tired of the fighting. 

Carth: You and me both Star. Once this war's over, maybe we should settle down in Terra Mesa. Maybe I might become a farmer. 

Starling: Heh. Let's hold off any plans until after the war's over. 

Carth laugh as he kissed Starling. As the two kissed, the future seemed bright for them. The war was on the verge of ending and the Sky Knights of the Interceptors were about to live out the rest of their days in peace. But what they didn't know was that this battle would soon change everything. This battle would put an end to any thoughts of peaceful live after the war.
