Tobias watched as Ash spoke some words of encouragement to his Pokémon. He looked at the pokéball that held Darkrai. He simply nodded his head and put the pokéball away. He grabbed another pokéball that contained another powerful Pokémon. He wordlessly reveals his second Pokémon and Ash almost wanted to forfeit the battle. Ash decided to go in the battle while he was focused on beating this next Pokémon.

It was Latios! He was blue and white. He was one of the Legendary Pokémon from Johto. He was the Duo with Latias.

He seemed delighted to be out of his Pokéball. He smiled at his trainer, who simply nodded at him.

"Let's win this one, Sceptile." Ash says, hoping that he could beat Tobias's second Pokémon.

"Scep. Sceptile." Sceptile says, ready to battle again.

"Since both sides are ready, battle begin!" The referee shouted.

"Okay! Sceptile, use Quick Attack and then use Leaf Blade!" Ash ordered. Crying out, Sceptile obeyed his trainer's orders. The speedy Pokémon was able to use Quick Attack, but Latios had dodged the Pokémon before he could use the attacks.

"Use Luster Purge." Tobias's order came sharp as he saw an opening. Latios obeyed the trainer and his attack collided with Sceptile. The force and strength of the attack caused Sceptile to faint when he hit the ground.

"Sceptile is unable to battle! Latios wins!" The referee said.

"Well, folks, Ash is down to his last Pokémon. Can he manage to turn this match around?" The announcer asked his audience.

"Thank you, Sceptile. You've deserved a nice, long rest." Ash says as he returns Sceptile to his pokéball. He turned to Pikachu. "It's your turn, buddy." He told him.

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted and he ran out on the battlefield. Tobias stared at Pikachu. That Pikachu is very well-trained. He thought.

"Let's go, Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Ash ordered. Pikachu quickly obeyed the order as he ran towards Latios to attack him. Latios had used Luster Purge to attack Pikachu, but Pikachu had dodged the attack. Pikachu used Quick Attack again.

"Dodge it." Tobias ordered. Latios moved out of the way at the last second, causing Pikachu to stop his attack. "Use Luster Purge." This time, the attack hits Pikachu head on.

"Pikachu!" Ash shouted. Pikachu was still up for battling. "You okay?" He asked.

"Pika pikachu!" Pikachu answered. Ash smiled.

"Pikachu! Thunderbolt, now!" Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at Latios and Latios took the attack. "Now, use Iron Tail and be careful!" Ash yells. Pikachu used Iron Tail, but he waited until he had the right weak spot. When Latios sped towards him, Pikachu used Iron Tail on Latios's back. Crying out in pain, Latios fell onto the ground.

"Come on, Latios, finish the match!" Tobias ordered. Latios cried out again and he got up and he waited for the command.

"Wow, Ash and Pikachu are looking good out there." Dawn had said.

"Yeah, Ash is doing great." Brock agreed with Dawn.

"Giga Impact." Tobias ordered. When Latios charged at Pikachu, Ash had thought of something.

"Volt Tackle!" He ordered. Pikachu started running as Latios came to him. "Jump, Pikachu! Meet Latios at his head!" Ash ordered.

When Pikachu clashed with Latios, an explosion was heard and seen. When the smoke had cleared up, both Pokémon was laying on each other, fainted.

"Pikachu!" Ash cried out. He dropped onto his knees.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle and since Ash is out of Pokémon, the winner is Tobias!" The referee shouted. The crowd went wild. Tobias returned Latios to his pokéball.

Ash didn't hear the announcer say anything as he looked at Pikachu. "Pikachu." Ash whispered. This isn't fair! He had Legendary Pokémon! This isn't right! Ash thought as his sanity started slipping. Ash walked up to Pikachu and he picked him up. He quickly turned back, not wanting to see Tobias. As he walked off Tobias spoke.

"Ash." Tobias's voice stops the young boy.

"Yes?" Ash asked, tears in his eyes. He had his back turned to Tobias, so the older trainer couldn't see his face.

"That was a good battle. Maybe, next time, you'll beat me." Tobias told him and he had left.
