As Ash fixed Delia a plate of pancakes, eggs and grits, he was thinking to himself about how to make her happy. He knew what she loved to do, but he wondered if she was up for gardening again as she had just got well. He wanted her to experience new things, like riding on a pokemon. He decided that he would ask Gary and Professor Oak for a few tips. "Here you go, Mom," he tells Delia as he gave her the plate he had fixed for her. Ash then fixed his own plate, using the same amount of food that he had given Delia as he didn't want to eat too much as he was going to go running later with his pokemon and eating too much would make him puke his brains out. He didn't want to take that risk as he knew that he couldn't afford to get sick. 

After they ate breakfast, Delia asked Ash a very weird question. "Can I battle against you?" Her request surprised Ash, but he grinned and accepted her request regardless of how weird it was. 

"Sure. Are you going to use Mr. Mime?" He asked, choosing to use Pikachu in the battle. He glanced at Pikachu and the Mouse Pokemon was already psyched for the upcoming battle. Delia nodded at his question.

"Yeah, Mr. Mime will be my battling partner. I'm guessing you are using Pikachu?" Delia asked Ash as she knows her son very well. Ash blushed at the fact that Delia had already known that he was going to use Pikachu without telling her. "Don't forget, Ash. I am your mother," she tells Ash, who grinned at her.

"Yeah, I know. You know a lot about me because you are my mother, Mom," Ash tells Delia, who smiled at him. Ash was glad that he could make his mother happy just by being there for her. He then understood why Delia was so lonely without him around. He was a friendly and lively young man and Delia had never once let him forget that.

"That's the truth and don't you forget it," Delia tells Ash, who grinned at her. "Mimey! Let's battle together," Delia called out to Mr. Mime, who came forward to Delia.

"Alright, Pikachu, let's show Mom how much we've grown!" Ash called out to his best buddy. 

"Pika pika!" Pikachu cheered out in happiness.
