Curiosity
She couldn't help it, her curiosity had gotten the better of her, and she had escaped the house quite easily by faking illness. Her friend's family were by no means idiots and would discover her disappearance quite quickly so she needed to move fast.
The sky had lit up a vibrant red-orange as she made her way through the shadows of the old brick and stone buildings. She had a general idea of where she was going, she just followed a string of tourists heading towards the clock tower in the middle of the square.
She watched the lady that had once approached her in awe and slight fear. She could tell what the woman was, she looked to be fishing for food as she led the group into the old building. Carina made sure to tag herself onto the end of the tour, taking in the surroundings as the siren spoke.
Everything was stone, lit only by dull torchlight. The walls held art pieces that Da Vinci would be envious of, or possibly he painted them. There was also old pottery that looked to have come straight from Byzantine Greece. Everything around her was old and interesting. All Carina could feel though was the allure of danger pulling her in. All logic went out the window as she disregarded her instincts and headed into the danger.

Demetri smirked as he watched the food enter the castle, his eyes searching as the other human's scent did little to conceal his prey's. The young grey witch looked to be enamored with her surroundings, her curiosity shining, but he could detect hints of fear in her eyes. He grinned, she would be a fool if she wasn't afraid.
Before the young witch could walk into the feeding chambers he stepped into her path. He didn't look down, or make eye contact, he just watched behind him as the doors were closed for feeding. He knew the young witch would be exposed to their ways sooner or later and he was interested what her reaction would be once the feeding started.
Carina looked up at the man/vampire as he cut her off. She had already deduced what was going to happen to the tourists, but something in her wanted to see the vampires in action. She tilted her head to the side following the gurads line of sight as they watched the large doors close.
Although she expected it, what came next made her jump in shock. The screaming and shouting echoed around them as the tourists were slaughtered in the next room. She glanced around looking at the people that worked under the Volturi's rule. None of them seemed concerned with what was happening, they didn't even flinch. A small frown presented itself, marring her features as she looked up at the man before her.
"Aren't you hungry?" Was the first words that spewed out of her mouth shocking the vampire before her.
"I prefer the hunt." He replied. "This is Felix," he nodded to the giant of a man that walked up behind her.
"You're early kid, nearly became a snack." The giant commented, "come on, let's wait in the throne room."
"Felix?" She questioned with a tilt of her head and she assessed the giant that was leading her down a similar looking hallway. "I had a cat called Felix, turns out he was actually a she though and we ended up calling her Felicity, but for a good three years it was Felix." Carina rambled as she followed.
Demetri chuckled a little at the witch as she continued to ramble on about the cat.
"and my kitty wasn't like those really pretty and sleek looking ones, Felix, nope, she had like this wonky eye, wasn't sure if she was looking at me or the wall half the time, but y'know I loved her anyways. Hey why is there three thrones? Why are there even thrones? Do vampires have like a monarchy? Coz like, as far as I know you guys can't have kids so you can't become a king by blood, or do you have to fight for the throne or something, or do you vote? Y'know, I'll be old enough to vote soon, which is super exciting-" she trailed off interrupted by a deep inhuman growl.
"Felix, she's a child," Demetri growled in response slipping in front of Carina.
"She's irritating me,"
"Um sorry," the young witch offered sheepishly under the gaze of the Vampires. "So why am I here?"
"Our masters are interested in the next generation of witches, they wished to meet you."
"Oh, okay," Carina skipped up to the seats and plopped herself in the throne in the center, her legs flung over the arms of the chair as she made herself comfortable.
"The Masters are coming," Felix announced for the benefit of the witch as the double doors opened.
She glanced sideways and threw herself into an upright position to get a better look. Three expensively garbed men led followed by what looked to be a small group of guards enter, their pace slowing as they spot the young grey witch seated above everyone else.
"Ah, you must be Car-" Aro begins,
"Nysa!" The twins gasped in horror and shock.
