Chapter 3 - A Special Batch of Brew

The next morning, Kira came out of the small shower stall, tossed her towel in the hamper and stood naked with her hands on her hips. Jim looked up from his comp and smiled at his lover's tall, lean but most definitely feminine form. She put her hands on her hips and smiled in return knowing how much he appreciated her body. "I have an idea, it just came to me. I do some of my best thinkin' in the shower you know. After yestershift's excitement, I have a few days off. Anyway, let's spend a couple of days at The Rim. I could use a little sunlight and I know that you could too."

Jim shrugged. "I love that idea Ki, but that place is so frackin' expensive, cost us a week's worth of credits just to stay, and then there is the food."

She smiled seductively. "Trust me, I'll make it worth your while, as it turns out I know a girl in Environmental who owes me a favor or two. She booked a suite on the top of the rim with a view, a real one, not virtual. She'll trade it for a few liters of ale, one of my custom lunar diamond pendants and 100 creds cash."

Jim raised his brows. "Wow, that's a heck of a deal. The view suites alone up there cost like 300 a day."

She shook her head. "This one is more like 500, anyway she had a very romantic weekend with her now very ex-girlfriend who paid for the room by the way and doesn't want to have anything to do with it. So, my friend, her bad luck is good for us."

Jim stood up, put his arm around his lover's bare waist and drew her close and kissed her. "Okay, I'm in. You don't have anything special planned, do you?"

She winked. "Maybe, but I guarantee that I will make it worth your while my friend."

Jim smiled. "I'm looking forward to it. Just let me know the details so I can clear it with my supervisor and you know, now that I think about it, there is a guy who works up there who might be our first big customer. His rep is a bit shady, but who isn't around here?

"Okay, I'll book it."

Jim gestured to the rock wall at the back of their quarters and Kira smiled in acknowledgment. "Right, got it. We'll double-check everything and set it all on auto while we're away." She then whispered. "Would not do to ruin a good batch of brew before we can keg it, eh?"

Jim smiled silently in return.
