Chapter 6- Eira (Edited)

I glanced at Daniel, and my heart broke for him when I saw the lost and pained look on his face. I knew what he felt, but I did not think he would like me to disclose on it.

Daniel caught me looking and raised an eyebrow. He scowled and folded his arms across his chest. "What? Want to punch me again?" he asked with a sneer.

"More like freeze your face," I replied, dryly, "but that would be considered animal abuse." I looked forward and touched my dagger, making sure that it was at arm's length. I did not trust Bane not to attack us in between realms, even though he knew better. I knew that he was slightly afraid of me, even though he acted like he wasn't. "Any more bodies?" I asked, glancing around the area, making sure that we were alone.

Arzon nodded his head, grimly. He glanced around, and I could tell that he was feeling slightly guilty with them dying. "There were some dead bodies placed in here. I do not know if it was because of Bane or if it was because they went without the proper requirements."

I pursed my lips and nodded. "I'll check it out. Lemme get Daniel settled in first, and I will check out the bodies. Are they at the station?"

"They are, but you will be getting some sleep." He narrowed his eyes and flicked his ears back. "David has told me that you were supposed to be sleeping and not searching for the next one." He glanced at Daniel before looking at me.

"I knew you were supposed to be sleeping," Ralph said. He gave me a smug look, causing me to scowl. Ralph looked down and cleared his throat, feeling as if he had crossed a line. "Sorry," he muttered.

I huffed and shook my head. "Yes, I was supposed to be sleeping, but I couldn't... get to sleep." I looked down and took a deep breath. I made sure that my face was a mask, because I didn't want them to know the reason as to why I couldn't sleep.

Bane somehow was able to make it that I had nightmares in the evenings. He used it to his advantage, causing me to live out my fears and not wake up from them. He thought that it would make it so that I wouldn't be able to fight him, but he learned that I could still fight even when I was tired.

Arzon nuzzled my hand, breaking me from my thoughts. "We are at the entrance. It is safe for you to go out."

I nodded my head. "Pleasure as alway, Arzon."

"The pleasure is all mine, Princess," he said. He bowed once more before leaving, letting us see each other.

I smiled at the two of them, nervously. "Let's get on with it then," I said. I took a deep breath and went through the fog and out the other end, hoping that David wouldn't chew me out too bad.

🔥🔥🔥

"What did I tell you not to do and yet you do it anyways?" David yelled as soon as he spotted the three of us. He scowled, his eyes flashing dangerously.

"You told us not to go get the next Holder, but we did it anyways," I replied. "Did you bring a car? I'm getting a headache." I rubbed my head, grimacing.

"You are getting a headache because you are tired, and you know it. You can't keep having Tristol to keep you up, Eira." He pointed where Daniel was starting to walk. "Don't take another step. If you do, I'll have Eira freeze you."

"What is it with you all and freezing?" Daniel asked with a huff.

"It's to help me still practice," I replied. "And, it is funnier than to say I will leaf you." I smirked at Ralph before looking at David. "Did you bring a car or not? It's a simple question."

"Yes, I brought a car. I wouldn't have had to bring it if you did what you were supposed to be doing."

"I can not sleep! Ok?" I snapped, finally reaching my breaking point. I blinked back some tears, hating the fact that I was so angry that all I wanted to do was cry. "Bane has been giving me nightmares, and most of them had to do with all three of you dying, the family that took me in dying, me dying, my actual family dying, or the fire Holder turning against us or dying." I rolled my eyes and huffed. "Just let me get Daniel situated so that we would be able to get him start training."

David's eyes softened a bit when he heard the reason as to why I hadn't been sleeping. "That doesn't matter," he said. "You shouldn't have left to get him without my permission."

"When have I ever gotten your permission over anything?" I asked, going to the way that the car was parked. "And, Bane almost got him, so you should be thanking me. Not being a butt," I called over my shoulder.

"No he wouldn't."

I turned to look at him with a smirk on my face. Oh, he had no idea what Bane could do, and I hoped he never did...
