Chapter Five
They brought me home while the moon was still high, so I had enough time to get rest.
Connor reminded me that they would be around tomorrow, but they would be making little to no contact with me.
I didn't mind it, but a part of me felt hurt, as if they wanted to ignore me. I scolded and reminded myself that they weren't good guys. They raped me, they imprinted on me, and they're the reason I'll have to leave my home soon.
But no matter how many times I reminded myself of these reasons, I still couldn't fully get angry at them, let alone hate them.
The next day, my brother and I went to go fetch more water. I wanted to tell him everything that was going on, but I was afraid that he would turn me in or shun me away. I didn't want to risk losing the only thing precious to me, so I kept it quiet.
When we returned, I spotted Xain and Conner, dressed up, but more casually.
They cast slight glances at me before going back to conversing with a few other villagers.
I actually felt like crying, and it was only day one.
The day slowly went on, and I ended up pleasing myself to their names; their images. I almost cried out of frustration, but I held back.
I had endless dreams of them taking me that night.
When I woke up, almost the whole process started all over again.
I'd barely see them, they hardly looked at me when I did, and I tended to my job and daily duties.
Night ended the same way as well; the dreams more vivid than before.
I couldn't count how many days I contemplated telling my brother. I couldn't admit how much I wanted the boys to take me; how much I wanted them to make me theirs. I realized what they meant on the fifth night. They meant the loneliness that easily built up; the sexual tension that would slowly drive me mad.
Soon, my thoughts were mostly on them. How blunt and cold Connor acted. How upfront and charming Xain was.
Every thought I had made me crave them in every way, but I knew that trying to find them would be fruitless.
However, I felt a little daring in the middle of the second week.
The dreams were becoming too much. I was hungry, upset, and getting tired of seeing what I couldn't touch.
It didn't take me long to find one of them, however. It was getting dark, and most of the villagers were inside at that point, so I stayed in the shadows in hopes of seeing them. I turned to look behind my back, only to turn around and find Xain standing before me.
It turned into a stare-down.
My heart was thumping up against my chest, and I couldn't move my arms.
I had wanted to find one of them, but when I looked into his eyes, I immediately wanted to retreat.
He smiled softly at me and said, "Not long now," moments before stiffly turning around and walking away.
I wanted to catch up to him and kiss him hard, but I couldn't will my arms to move. I sighed softly and turned around only to find my brother behind me. I froze, feeling like I got caught naked. Hell, I might as well have been.
He looked at me and asked, "Not long now, huh? Not long for what? Is there some kind of secret wedding I don't know about?"
"No," I said softly, averting his look.
'Don't tell him. No matter what, don't you dare tell him.'
I smiled softly and looked at him, saying, "It's nothing to worry about. Trust me."
My brother approached me and hugged me tightly. He said, "You'd tell me if something's wrong, right?" "Of course I would," I lied. It really hurt not to tell the truth, but in the end all he would do is reject me.
He let me go and smiled, saying, "Come on inside, okay? It'll get dark soon, and we both know how you get."
I nodded softly, afraid to say anything else, and followed him inside.

Another week passed by. I stopped trying to avoid thinking about Xain and Connor.
It was impossible anyways. They had succeeded in getting temporary jobs, and the job locations were right next to mine. All I had to do was look out of the window and see them there.
It was almost unbearable.
I knew I had three days left. And that thought alone tortured me.
Sure, I'd be with the brothers, but I wouldn't be with my brother.
I felt that it was only best that I leave in secret and leave a note. At least then, I didn't have to see his reaction.
Of course, nothing works out the way you want it.
As I was about to close up shop, I overheard yelling and glass shattering. I looked outside to see Connor and Xain standing next to each other in front of a crowd. The only thing wrong with what I was seeing was that they had shifted. I looked up in the sky and didn't see the moon out yet.
'Why are they werewolves?! What's going on?!'
My boss said, "Stay inside!! They haven't attacked yet, but no one is taking chances! It's about to get bloody!!"
My heart dropped.
I turned back to watch the scenario unfold only to find my brother being one of the few up front. He took a swing at Connor, who dodged and snarled, raising his paw to lash out at him.
I didn't hesitate to jump over the counter and run to my brother's aid. As the paw came down, I got in the way and took the hit instead. I cried out in pain as I felt my back being slashed, and fell at my brother's feet.
No one knew what to do at that point. It was the most silent and tense standstill I had ever seen in my life.
I looked up at them angrily and painfully said, "No one... hurts... Mathew..."
Connor's eyes widened moments before growling and taking a step back.
Not long after, they both took off.
I whimpered in pain as Mathew lifted me up carefully.
He then slowly walked me to the house, where he carefully bandaged my back up.
I winced softly before saying, "Thank you..."
"You're welcome," he replied, lowering my ripped dress. "You should, uh... Get some sleep, okay?"
I nodded softly and said, "I... I'll try... You do the same." He smiled at me before kissing my forehead.
"Sleep well, Lyra."

You know her name now. Thank me later. XDD
Until the next Update!
