Is it a dream?

A tavern appears around Regina, eyes closed, sitting on a bench. Something
about wherever she was felt peaceful.

Her eyes snap open, surprised by the location of her dream. Or, at least she thought it was a dream. It probably wouldn't be a good one, because the Tavern was completely empty.

Suddenly, a squeaky sign swung eerily over the bar, and the fireplace suddenly  lit itself.  She turned to look at it, starting to feel uneasy.

"M'lady looks thirsty. " An eerily familiar,  yet comforting voice said.

Regina's heart drops. She knows that voice. A full pint glass slides onto the table behind her, followed by an unforgettable lion tattoo.

She slowly turns around, and immediately notices the tattoo, and the man that it's attached to. Tears immediately form in her eyes, in shock, wondering if she was imagining her soulmate. "R . . . Robin? What is this . . .?" Regina asked, not sure how this was possible.

"A pint, Your Majesty. Cold and delicious. " Robin responded, assuming she was talking about the drink.

"No, this. Where am I . . . ? Is . . . Is it a dream?" She asked, not sure if she wanted to believe that this was real. She didn't know if she could survive losing him all over again.

"If it is, it's an excellent one. But no, this isn't a dream, Regina." Robin admitted, smiling cheekily.

"But . . . How? I thought you were . . . gone. " Regina admitted, feeling too many emotions.

"I am," started Robin, touching her heart, Regina placing her hand over his. "But I'm also in here. I'm always in here. " He admitted.

Regina practically melted, not letting go of him, afraid that he'd disappear. "I've missed you. " She admitted.

"I know. I've missed you too my love. How would you feel about doing a more enjoyable activity while we're here, since you probably won't wake up for awhile?" Robin asked, gently cupping her cheek with his hand.

Regina gently caresses his cheek, as if wanting to remember every part of him.

They softly kiss each other, their faces illuminated by the firelight. The kiss was perfect, gentle, filled with love . . . No word could truly describe the bond they had . . . The bond they still had, that could be felt in the kiss.

By the time Regina woke up, she was giddy, happy, and all the other synonyms that meant happy. She was feeling hopeful, and it was the best sleep she had had in years. Totally not a reference to what Robin had said all those years ago in the vault. She was even holding Robin's lucky feather in her hand, and it smelled like him!
_____________

Shorter than my usual chapters, but, it was adorable, and I used a reference from Robin's vault scene quote, so we all know what happened 💖
