Chapter 11. Training.
Tris's POV.
Later after we have finished eating, Tobias and I are cuddled together on his couch.
It's still hard to believe I'm here. I thought I would be dead, but somehow they still managed to save me.
I know I'm very grateful for it, mostly cause I now get to live my life with the one I love most.
The poor thing had to go though the pain of losing me. It must have been so hard on him, I wish I could have been awake and have been there for him, but I'm here now and I'll never leave him again.
Tobias has his arm wrapped around my shoulder, hugging me closer to him.
I notice that he's starting to doze off and before I know it, I am to.
We're both drop dead tired and neither of us want to get up to go to bed so we just reposition ourselves on the couch to where we're laying down and soon we fall asleep.
The next morning Tobias wakes me gently.
" What?" I say.
I hear a small chuckle. " Come On Tris. It's been a long while since you've trained, so I thought you might want to train today." Says Tobias.
I then open my eyes, I scan the place and soon find his face in the dimly lit room. " What are we waiting for the ." I say.
Tobias laughs. " Well let's go. We'll grab some food on the way."
I nod. We get up and get dressed in some training clothes, and make outer way to the pit.
Soon it comes into view and I can just barely see Christina and the other waiting for us at a table with a bunch of breakfast food.
I smile and take Tobias's hand and pull him forward. " Well I guess someone's hungry this morning." Says Tobias.
I don't say anything, and I don't have to by the fact that my smile widened and I know he could see it.
The second we sat down Christina was placing a bunch of food in front of us.
Tobias looked a tad shocked, where as I was more then thrilled. I'm starving.
I quickly thanked her and started eating. I then elbowed Tobias in the rib cage. He snapped out of his small daze and said thanks before he to started eating.
" So you guys going to the training room after this?" Asks Cristina.
I nod. " Yeah, she is happy about that and to be honest so am I." Says Tobias.
Christina just smiles and sits back in her chair. Soon after we finish eating we make out way to the training room.
I had been unconscious for three years so Tobias says I need to work back up my muscles.
We go straight to a punching bag and start. The way we're doing it reminds me of Dauntless initiation again.
Him helping and giving me pointers while I punch it.
I smile at the thoughts of initiation. I start to wonder if he ever goes to that spot in the chasm to just sit and relax.
Soon my curiosity gets the best of me. " Hey Tobias, do you ever go to the spot in the chasm where we first kissed anymore?" I ask.
He smiles. " Every now and then. During the time I thought you were dead, I used to spend a lot of my time there. It was hard for people to find me and try to get me out and to talk to someone, and now I just go there because it's the place where one of our best memories was made. Why do you ask?" He says.
" Curiosity got the best at me." I say grinning from ear to ear. The things he said were sad and cute. Now I really wish I had been there for him all along.
He chuckles. " Come on, focus on training. If your were up against a opponent you would have lost for getting distracted. "
I can't help but to smile. He sounds like Four the instructor again. It's pretty cute.
" So if I get distracted the punching bag will beat me at fighting?" I question sarcastically.
He rolls his eyes and smiles. " Ha ha very funny. Just do as I say. Remember to keep focused." He says.
I turn my head to look at him. " Yes Four." I say.
His eyes went slightly wider. " Did you just call me Four?" He asks.
I turn around and put my hands on my hips. " Yep, I did it once and I'll do it again."
He rolls his eyes again. " Very well." His face then switches and harden into his instructor face and he uses his instructor voice. " Pay attention to your training initiate. Focus is key. You can't afford to get distracted."
" Yes Sir." I say before smiling and laughing a little. He then smiles. I turn and start punching the punching bag again.
Soon enough I'll be back to throwing knifes and shooting guns, and soon Tobias says once I finish building back up enough muscle I can work on hand to hand combat as well.
I can't wait.
Soon though, Tobias has us stop so we can rest and get something to eat.
I'm tired and worn out from training today, but I'm excited to do some more tomorrow, and the best part about this is that I get to do it all with Tobias training me again.
I smile at that thought. I can't wait for tomorrow, and with that last thought, we both walk to the pit hand in hand to meet up with the others and eat some food and finally to rest.
