Short 5: To Modernize or Not to Modernize

On the balcony of the Hazbin Hotel, Blitz is sitting on the chair as he holds Tilla in his arms, as she drinks the sippy cup full of warm milk. Blitz looks out to see the view of Pentagram City. He has to admit, it looks very different from the world he knows and raised in.

"Hey Blitz," A familiar voice calls out.

Blitz turns to see Angel Dust walking onto the balcony with Fat Nuggets in his lower arms.

"Hi Angel, what's up?" Blitz replies.

"Well, I'm getting bored being in the hotel, and I wanted to do something, and then something hit me. You don't have a cell phone yet, right?" Angel responds.

"That's true. I've been here for a few weeks now and don't have any electronics or too many clothes from my home world," Blitz says.

"Well then, how about I take you and the family to do some shopping," Angel says.

"Are you sure? You don't have to?" Blitz asks.

"I don't mind. Consider this as a way of owing you for saving my butt a couple of weeks ago," Angel says.

"Well, as long as you're okay with it," Blitz says and stands up from the chair, "Mind if Loona and the others come?"

"Sure. The more the merrier," Angel says.

"Well then, mind if I accompany you as well," A radio voice appears.

Angel and Blitz turn to see Alastor walking onto the balcony.

"You wanna come too?" Angel questions, arching an eyebrow.

"Why of course. I can help Blitz and his family find some proper attire," Alastor says.

Angel rolls his eyes, "Yeah, right. Your proper attire is old fashioned from the 1920s. What they need are clothes that are like now. Like modern clothes."

"Just because you're fine with wearing those types of clothing, doesn't mean Blitz or his family are entitled to do the same," Alastor says.

Blitz gets in between them, "Alright alright, let's not argue. You both can help us with it."

"Sounds good to me," Angel says.

"Of course," Alastor says.

Sometime later...

Blitz and his family are now out in the city to get some clothes and possibly some means of communication and electronics. However, their trip comes to a halt due to Angel Dust and Alastor. Mainly their argument about Blitz and his family's lifestyle. Blitz has tried to get them to stop the argument, but they keep ignoring him and continue on with their little dispute.

"I'm telling you, Alastor. Blitz and his family have to learn about modern technology and attire someday. I mean, everyone in Hell is into modern tech these days," Angel says, "They also deserve to try some new stuff, clothes, electronics, traveling, and all that shit."

"And I'm telling you that they don't need to give in to the weak minded ways of today. They already have good style and proper attire just the way they are," Alastor says, "Take notes from someone who actually had style and proper media."

Angel scoffs, "Yeah right. Your idea of style is as old as the old camera box gathering dust."

"I suggest you don't talk like that about my camera," Alastor says with his eyes glowing red, "At least I have more class than the annoying flat headed picture box who enjoys these annoying machines."

"Says you. People use these electronics like phones, emails, and computers for everything, and to let people know. My job also requires using modern film equipment as well," Angel says, annoyed.

"You call that a job," Alastor says, annoyed.

"Watch it," Angel says, annoyed.

Blitz and his family are still dumbfounded about seeing the Spider Porn Star and the Radio Speaking Dear arguing with one another.

Loona sighs, "This is going to take a while."

"Yeah. I never thought Angel and Alastor would get into an argument like this," Keenan says.

Blitz also sighs, "Maybe it would have been easier to ask Charlie and Vaggie to help us."

"Maybe we should go there ourselves," Aurora says.

"That's a good idea, but where do we go from here?" Loona says.

"We don't know how to get there," Keenan says.

"Well well, this is a surprise," A voice says.

The group turns to see Vox, the Television Overlord and well, Alastor's self proclaimed rival.

"I certainly didn't expect to see Angel and Alastor getting into an argument," Vox says.

"Um, you don't say," Blitz responds, a bit skeptic.

Then Vox says, "Yep. And I certainly didn't expect to meet the Impish Mage that caused quite a stir during the Turf War after the Extermination."

"Guess you saw the news too," Blitz says.

"Well, I am also in charge of News 666 so it's part of my job to know this," Vox says

He then introduces himself, "Names Vox, owner and CEO of Voxtech."

"It's nice to meet you. I'm Blitz Jonas," Blitz says, introducing himself. Then introduces his family, "These are my family, my daughters, Loona, Aurora, and Tilla. And my son, Keenan."

"A pleasure to meet you," Vox says. Then turns to the arguing demons, "So, what got those two in a hissy fit?"

Loona sighs, "Those two were supposed to be helping us with shopping, but they both got into an argument about how our lifestyle should be."

"How so?" Vox questions.

"Well, let's just say where we're from, our knowledge and culture are similar to Alastor, so we don't have modern tech. Alastor wanted us to keep our lifestyle and Angel wants us to live in the 21st century," Blitz says.

"Hmm, I see," Vox says, taking an interest.

He then says, "How about I help you with that situation?"

"Help?" Blitz questions, confused.

"Why of course, as someone who is the CEO and owner of an electronic company, I know the perfect electronic needs for your living," Vox says.

He then leans to Blitz, "You can trust me with your living assistance," and begins to use his hypnotic eye towards Blitz.

Blitz becomes shocked to see Vox has that kind of power and is about to fall into his gaze. But then...

WHACK!

"OW!" Vox cries out, receiving a hard hit on the head.

He turns his head, "What the-"

And he sees Alastor having his cane, revealing that it's Alastor who hit Vox on the head.

"Alastor?! WHAT THE FUCK?!" Vox angrily says, glaring at the Radio Demon.

"Well, I can't have you trying to poison a good acquaintance of mine with your little trick," Alastor says.

Vox glares at Alastor, "Well, I don't try to drag someone who is still in the stone age."

"At least my timeline has a lot more style then a flat faced picture show," Alastor says.

"Oh yeah. At least I'm not broadcasting from these old pieces of junk," Vox angrily says.

Alastor's eyes glow as he glares, "I suggest you don't push it when it comes to my way of living."

Blitz then gets between them, "Alright you two, enough fighting."

The two Overlords stop and turn to Blitz, who gets between them.

"I guess you all want to assist me, but this is my decision. Honestly, I think having a few electronics like phones and a computer is a good idea because it seems important to have them these days. I can worry about the other stuff later," Blitz says.

Alastor thinks for a minute, "Hmm, well I suppose you're right. Although, I'm still unsure about you having those stuff as they call modern tech."

"It's not like I'm going to use it all the time, but it wouldn't hurt to have them to help me adjust," Blitz says.

"He has a point," Angel says.

"Well of course, having something like a phone and computers help with communications, messaging, and even saving information," Vox says.

Alastor sighs, "Well, if that's what you want." Then turns to Vox, "However, he better not use the electronics to spy on us like the last stunt."

Vox rolls his eyes in response.

Tilla giggles and says, "Picture..."

Blitz looks down towards Tilla, "Yeah, Tilla?"

Tilla points to Vox, "Picture Box Man!"

Vox becomes flabbergasted and blushes, "Picture Box Man!"

"I think it's because Tilla keeps hearing Alastor calling the television. We have a picture box that she thinks you are kind of," Aurora says and giggles.

Vox delfates, "Of course that would happen. However, I'm better off being called Vox, and not that stupid name."

Then Tilla happily says, "Voxxie Voxxie!"

"Better than the other nicknames. At least it's one I'm more familiar with," Vox bluntly replies.

Sometime later...

Blitz managed to buy a laptop and phones for Loona, Aurora, and Keenan. They also get a Vpad for Tilla so she can watch videos and play learning games. Surprisingly they have stuff like this for little kids. Angel, Charlie, and Vaggie help set them up and learn about the ropes of using the phone.

"Thank you for helping me guys," Blitz says.

"It's no trouble, just glad we were able to get through the situation earlier without problems," Angel says.

"Yeah. I'm glad too," Blitz says.

"For a minute I thought Alastor and Vox were going to get into a fight," Loona says.

"At least we managed to get some electronics. Though, I'm still rather used to using my house phone back home," Blitz soon looks at the phone and checks the internet and other details, "Still, it's going to be a while to get used to the phones. Same with the laptop."

"Well, one step at a time, Blitz," Charlie says.

Vaggie nods, then turns to the pad, "Still, I rather we make sure none of these allow Vox to spy on us."

The group nods their heads in response, but that's another situation for them to deal with for another time.
