Short 25: Happy Father's Day Daddy
One afternoon, Aurora, Keena, and Tilla visit Ash at his place while Blitz chats with Zak and Zoey in the living room. There, Ash tells the group about his plans for this upcoming weekend.
"Father's Day? What's that?" Keenan asks.
"Really? They don't have Father's Day where you live?" Ash asks.
"I don't think so, but what is it?" Aurora questions.
"It's to celebrate with your dad. You give your dad presents, spend time with one another, and have some fun with your dad," Ash says.
"Sounds kind of like 'I love daddy day,'" Keenan says.
"Huh? I guess they have similar holiday's but we call it something else," Ash says.
He then says, "But still, I think you should do something with your dad. My dad is taking me to see a baseball game in the living world. I can't wait to see it."
Aurora and Keenan look at each other, smile and nod their heads.
Aurora then says, "I think Keenan and I will do something special for dad."
Tilla happily says, "Dada happy."
Time has passed...
Early Sunday morning, Aurora and Keenan are still asleep in their room. Soon, they hear the alarm clock showing that it's 7:00 in the morning. Aurora soon wakes up and walks over to wake up Keenan.
Aurora shakes him on the shoulder, "Keenan, wake up. Today is Father's Day."
Soon, Keenan wakes up quickly with a smile on his face.
"Morning Aurora," Keenan happily says.
"Are you ready to make a Father's Day Breakfast for dad?" Aurora asks.
"Sure am," Keenan says with a smile.
"Dada," Tilla happily says.
They both turn to see Tilla is happily up as well and looking at her brother and sister with a smile.
Aurora says, "Of course, you can help too," And picks up Tilla from the crib.
Keenan then brings out the rectangular present box. It's purple with pink stars and has a bright blue ribbon on it.
"I got the present," Keenan says.
"Good to hear," Aurora says.
Then begins to leave the room, "Come on, let's head to the kitchen."
The three children get dressed and walk down the stairs into the kitchen.
Aurora begins to start cooking on the stove.
Keenan is stirring some pancake batter on the stove. Tilla is sitting on the floor as she tries to squeeze some orange juice with a hand juicer. However, she is making a mess from squeezing so many oranges and spilling some on the floor as she tries to pour them in the cup.
Aurora turns to ask, "How's the pancake batter doing Keenan?"
"I think I'm doing okay," Keenan says as he lifts the spoon.
Seeing the batter, Aurora says, "The battle seems too runny. You'll need to put some more flour in there."
"Okay," Keenan says.
Keenan reaches out for the bag of flour, but it slips from his hand and spills on the counter and floor.
"Oh no," Keenan says.
Aurora soon places the eggs and bacon on a plate and turns off the stove. She then moves the pan to inside the oven and closes it.
"Keenan, is something wrong?" Aurora asks.
"I spilled the flour," Keenan says.
Aurora walks over, "Well, it doesn't look too bad. We'll just need to clean it and..."
But Aurora slips on some of the spilled orange juice, slides over as she knocks the cup Tilla has on the floor, spilling more juice. She accidentally bumps into Keenan, who has the bowl and accidentally ends it flying, spilling the pancake batter all over the place, including themselves and Tilla. Soon, Charlie, Vaggie, and Loona walk in.
"Aurora, Keena, Tilla, are you all here?" Loona asks.
And right on cue, the bowl of remaining pancake battle lands on Loona's head, covering her hair in pancake batter.
"What's going on?" Vaggie asks.
"And why's the place a mess?" Charlie asks.
Aurora and Keenan sit up to see the grown adults.
"Sorry about the kitchen, we just want to make dad a Father's Day Breakfast," Aurora says.
"And we wanted to make it for him ourselves, but ended up with a mess," Keenan says.
"I can see that," Vaggie says, removing the bowl from Loona's head.
Charlie giggles, "But it's nice that you want to do something for your dad."
Loona giggles, "Come on, I'll help you with breakfast, but we need to clean up this mess before Niffty gets upset with us."
And right on cue, "Oh my this place is a mess!"
The group turns to see Niffty.
Aurora apologizes, "Sorry about the mess, Niffty. We want to make breakfast for our dad."
"That's okay, this mess is not that big of a mess," Niffty says, and brings out the mop and bucket, "But we can't leave the kitchen like that."
"We'll help you clean up and then we can help with the breakfast," Loona says.
"Yay!" Aurora, Keenan, and Tilla happily cheer.
"Might as well," Vaggie says.
"We'll help too," Charlie says.
After getting the kids cleaned up, Loona along with her brother and sisters along with Charlie and the others clean up the kitchen and help the kids make the Father's Day Breakfast. This time, Loona and Aurora take care of cooking, while Keenan and Tilla do something else to prepare for Father's Day.
Sometime later...
Blitz is still asleep until Sophie licks his cheek, prompting him to wake up from his sleep.
Blitz smiles and says, "Good morning, Sophie. How are you doing, girl?" and pets her on the head.
Soon, the door opens to reveal Loona walking in with a tray. Aurora walks in with a vase full of starflowers, Keenan has the present box, and Tilla has the card in her hand.
"Happy Father's Day!" Loona, Aurora, and Keenan happily say.
Tilla happily says, "Happy Dada Day."
"Father's Day?" Blitz asks.
"Yep. Today is Father's Day and we made you breakfast," Aurora says.
Then Keenan says, "And we brought presents."
"Aww, that's sweet," Blitz says.
Aurora places the vase on the furniture close to the bed.
Tilla presents the card, "Card."
"Aww, that's very sweet," Blitz says.
He looks at the card to see a silly picture of Blitz with hearts. Inside it says Happy Father's Day and with Loona, Aurora, and Keena's name. He can tell the scribbly line is Tilla.
"Open your present dad," Keenan says, presenting the box.
"Thank you," Blitz says and takes the present.
He takes off the ribbon and unwraps the paper. He then opens the box to reveal a small book.
"It's a scrapbook," Aurora says.
"We made it ourselves," Keenan says.
"Lots of pictures," Tilla happily says.
Blitz opens the book to see many pictures and decorations representing the photo, like one of Loo Loo Land, their adventure at the beach, the cruise, and other adventures.
Blitz smiles and says, "Thank you, I really love it. You all are so sweet."
Then the kids hug their dad saying, "Happy Father's Day Daddy! We love you dad."
"I love you all too," Blitz says and wraps his tail around them for a hug.
Charlie and Vaggie watch and are glad to see the father's day surprise is a success.
