Chapter 6: Meeting the Princess of Hell and Her Girlfriend
Shortly after, everyone is in the limo, and heading back to the hotel. Everyone is exhausted from the day they have. Charlie lets out a sad sigh after her interview hasn't gone well. Blitz rocks Tilla in his arms as Loona, Aurora, Keenan, and Sophie the fox are sitting on the seats in the car. Charlie turns her head to see Vaggie giving Angel Dust a vicious glare and her eye twitch. On the other side, Angel Dust is pushing the switch up and down to open and close the window connection to the front seat. Angel then stops to see everyone looking at him Vaggie narrows her eyes with a vicious glare.
Angel asks, "What?"
Vaggie questions in rage, "What? What?! What were you doing?!" and pulls pieces of her hair off.
Angel sighs, "I owed my girl buddy a solid! Isn't that a 'redeeming quality'? Helping friends with stuff?" adding some sarcasm.
"Not with turf wars that result in territorial genocide!" Vaggie angrily scolds.
Angel, who doesn't seem to care, leans his head back to the closed window with his upper hands behind.
"Eh, you win some, you lose a few hundred," Angel says with a snicker, "It wasn't that bad anyway."
He then continues to play with the switch for the window.
"It was bad. Really bad," Loona says, bluntly.
"Loona's right. We all could have been killed if my dad wasn't able to stop that giant egg monster," Aurora says.
"I'll admit, it was pretty cool your dad got all this magic shit despite him being an imp, and that he totally kicked some total ass," Angel says and laughs about it.
Blitz narrows his eyes, "Can you not use such foul language while my kids are here."
"Not gonna stop them from saying it in the future," Angel says, rolling his eyes in response.
The next moment, Vaggie throws a dagger at the switch, breaking it and causing Angel to jump back. Then turns to see Vaggie narrowing her eyes at him.
"Aw come on, I had to! My credibility was on the line!" Angel says, brushing his hair back. He lets out a sigh and says, "I mean, what kind of reputation would I have if people found out I was trying to go clean? It just throws out my entire persona," and fluffs up his furry chest.
Not convinced, Vaggie angrily says, "Your credibility? What about the hotel? Your little stunt made us look like a uh..." And remembers there are children in the limo, "Freaking joke!"
"No no no, babe. Jokes are funny! I made you look... uh, sad! And pathetic!" Angel says, as he changes his position on the chair. "Like an orphan, with no arms, or legs..."
However, every time Angel opens his mouth, Charlie holds her hair and feels bad.
"Uh... oh, with progeria!" Angel adds, making Charlie feel worse with a whimper and hides her face behind her hair.
And Angel says, "Well, that's just great! Now I'm bummed thinking about it!" Then begins to look around, "This thing have any liquor?"
Angel soon begins to look around for anything he can drink.
Vaggie asks, frustrated, "Can you please just try to take this seriously?"
"Fine, I'll try, just don't get your taco in a twist, baby," Angel says, laying on the chair and snaps his finger towards Vaggie.
Offended, Vaggie stands up and demands, "Was that you trying to be sexist or racist?"
"Whatever pisses you off more," Angel says with a groan. Then complains, "Is there seriously no liquor in here?"
"Uh, is it really the right time to be thinking of liquor?" Blitz asks, confused.
"Sure is. I'm thirsty," Angel says.
Vaggie sits down next to Charlie with her arms crossed, "I'm gonna kill him."
"Too late, toots," Angel says.
Then Angel thinks out loud, "Wait, would that make me double dead?" He slightly laughs and says, "And where exactly do I go, to double Hell?"
That cause Vaggie to glare at him, like she is ready to kill him.
Angel continues to laugh and says, "Sorry, you're stuck with me, bitch. Get used to it," And concludes with his arms crossed.
Vaggie grits her teeth in rage as she swears, "Come mierda malparido!" (Eat shit you bastard!)
Charlie leans back with concern on their faces.
Blitz looks to see how fuming Vaggie is. Everytime Angel opens his mouth Vaggie's glare gets more murderous, like she's about ready to kill him..
"Listen, who cares if some jagoffs got hurt? Most of them are ugly freaks. Look around! Got a bunch of fuckin' harlequin babies down here," Angel says, and leans towards the window. Then begins to laugh.
"You're one to talk," Vaggie mutters.
Which is enough for Angel to hear and get offended, "Hey!"
That ends up causing Loona, Aurora, and Keenan to laugh. Even Blitz is stifling his laughter. Tilla giggles because everyone else is laughing.
"Are you guys seriously laughing?" Angel asks, dumbfounded.
"Sorry Angel, but it was kind of funny," Keenan says.
"I have to agree," Aurora says and giggles a bit.
"Yeah. It kind of is," Loona says with a smirk on her face.
"Whatever you say, but this body is flawless!" Angel says, placing his hand on his leg. "Everyone wants some of me, and I've got the creepy fan letters to prove it!" And then Angel fluffs up his chest and takes out a letter.
The letter simply says, 'Show Me You FEET!" -Bryrin #1 FANCRITC.' Next to the message is a photo of a man without his face shown, and hugging a body pillow that has Angel Dust on it. Vaggie growls in anger.
"Uhhhhhhhh," Aurora says, dumbfounded and shields Keenan's eyes from it.
Blitz also covers Tilla's eyes as well.
"I suggest you get a restraining order from whoever sent you that. In fact, I'm positive you should," Loona says.
Vaggie ends up growling in anger, and very much agrees with Loona.
"That was really uncool y'know, Angel," Charlie says.
"Uncool?!" Vaggie questions in rage. Then shouts in anger, "After that trainwreck, there is no way anyone is gonna wanna stay at the hotel! All thanks to you and your selfish antics!" and blaming Angel.
"Does that mean I don't have a free room anymore?" Angel asks.
Vaggie simply gives him an 'Are you Serious?' expression on her face.
Angel sighs with a mocking tone, "Ah, well, shucks." and snaps his fingers.
"Hey, come on, we don't know if things are over yet," Charlie says, taking off her jacket.
Then places her hand on Vaggie's shoulder, "Try to relax, Vaggie. It'll be okay!"
Vaggi smiles in response and says, "I guess you're right."
"Now that little situation is out of the way," Charlie says and turns to Blitz and the kids, "I think it will be a good idea for us to get to know our new guests."
"I do have to agree. With what happened with the Egg Monster and being walking along the streets until you arrived. We didn't really have much time to talk," Blitz says, and places Tilla on the seat next to him.
"Right," Charlie says, and introduces herself, "My name is Charlotte Morningstar, Princess of Hell and owner of the Happy Hotel, but you can call me Charlie."
Then gestures to Vaggie, "This is my girlfriend, Vaggie, and is the manager of the hotel."
"Hello," Vaggie says with a calm smile.
Then Angel says, "And you've already met me, but didn't get a proper introduction. Names Angel Dust, the number #1 Porn Star in Hell."
"A Porn Star?" Blitz questions, "So you're like one of those uh, models that poses for pictures, statues, and art stuff."
"That. But I'm also an actor so I've done a lot of films as well," Angel says.
Then begins to lean to Blitz and flirts with him, "And I happen to be the most sexy demon in Pentagram City. I'm sure I can give you a good time."
"N-No thank you," Blitz says, having his hand out in defense.
"Oh don't be like that," Angel says and leans close to Blitz with his arms around the Imp's shoulders, "You sure perform quite a good amount of tricks. I wonder if you can do other tricks with your red staff."
Blitz blushes and feels uncomfortable, "E-Excuse me?! My what now?!"
"Angel! Stop trying to flirt with every guy you see!" Vaggie angrily says, "Especially in front of his children."
"Fine," Angel says, annoyed, but decides to lie his head on Blitz's lap.
Vaggie groans in annoyance, "Sorry about Angel, he's a complete headache, and he's gay, so he mainly does this to guys."
"Okay..." Blitz says, skeptic.
Then Vaggie says, "Now that we introduce ourselves to you. I say it's time for your introduction."
"Of course," Blitz says and introduces himself and the kid, "I'm Blitz Jonas, and these are my children, Loona, Aurora, Keena, and the little baby is Tilla. And this is our family pet fox, Sophie."
"Nice to meet you. You have really nice children, and Tilla looks so cute," Charlie says, and practically gushing.
"She sure is," Aurora says.
Charlie leans to Tilla, "Hi Tilla, I'm Charlie. It's nice to meet you."
"Char... Char..." Tilla replies, trying to say her name.
She then smiles and says, "Hi Char Char."
Charlie gushes with eyes on her pupils, "I'm going to explode!"
Then Charlie gestures towards Vaggie, "And this is my girlfriend, Tilla."
"Vag Vag!" Tilla happily says.
Vaggie blushes, "Well uh, you can call me Vags if you like."
Tilla smiles at her.
Vaggie blushes and smiles, "Aww, she is so cute."
"She sure is," Angel says, sitting up.
He then asks, "Mind if I hold her, Blitz?"
"Of course," Blitz says.
Angel then takes Tilla and holds the little girl in his arms.
"Are you a cute little sweetie? Yes, you are. Yes, you are." Angel says and hugs Tilla.
Tilla ends up having her head against his chest fluff. It's fluffy and soft like a pillow. She giggles and rubs her head against it.
She then says, "Fluffy Angel."
Angel gasps as he blushes. He begins gushing over her, "No fair, your daughter is just too cute!"
Blitz giggles, "Yeah. A lot of people really like her."
Vaggie calms herself, turns to Blitz and asks, "So Blitz, what were you and your family doing wandering around the city? And uh, how did you end up in that Turf War?"
"We kind of wandered there by accident. We were actually trying to get to the Happy Hotel hoping to get some help and maybe find work" Blitz says.
"Really?" Charlie asks, surprised.
"Yes. I was told that you are staying at the hotel and we saw your interview about your hotel and your rehabilitation project and I think it's a good thing," Blitz answers with a nod.
"You really think so?" Vaggie questions.
"Of course I do," Blitz answers, "I think it's a good goal that you want to help your people redeem themselves to become better. Whether or not a sinner can get into Heaven, I believe that demons can change and are able to make their lives better."
Charlie smiles, "Aw, thanks Blitz, I really appreciate it."
"I think it's a good idea," Aurora says, "I'm just sorry that the interview didn't go so well, especially when demons were laughing about your idea."
"But the song was funny though," Keenan says and giggles.
"Have to admit, the song is okay, even though it was kind of wacky," Loona says with a calm smile on her face.
Charlie giggles, "I may have gotten a bit carried away, but I really express my ideas better by singing. Too bad it didn't work."
"Well, I guess we got some people on our side," Vaggie says.
Then glares at Angel Dust, "Unlike a certain first patrion of ours."
"Like I said, I was doing a solid for a friend," Angel says, annoyed.
"Alright guys, there's no need to argue over this," Blitz says.
"Hey Charlie, why do you want to redeem the demons here anyway?" Keenan asks.
"Well, the reason why is because I want to help my people. I'm really sick and tired of watching them suffer. For years, I watched them die on the same day over and over again. After a while, I just got sick of it at this point," Charlie says.
"Die on the same day?" Blitz responds.
Loona turns to her dad with a confused expression.
"You don't know about the Extermination?" Charlie asks.
"Well, I heard a little about it while my family and I were walking around the town," Blitz says.
Vaggie sighs, "Sounds about right. It's the time of year when Angels come down from Heaven known as Exterminators. They come down to slay demons to keep Hell's population from getting too big and they don't stop until the bell rings."
"I see," Blitz says, feeling uneasy.
Loona soon grows concerned.
"Hey Blitz, how did you learn how to cast magic anyway?" Charlie asks.
"It's kind of a long story," Blitz says.
"How so?" Charlie asks, curiously.
"Well, for as long as I can remember, I've been living in another world called Thaumarata," Blitz says.
"Thamum-what?" Vaggie questions.
"Thaumarata? It's the name of the planet I've been living on for like over two decades. I was raised by a Celestian Human Mage named Selene Jonas who became my mother, until she passed away. I was also married to a Celestian named Crystal Nova. We had an arranged marriage because of our parents, but we both really loved each other. When I grew up, I became a medical mage, kind of like a doctor. Of course, I've adopted Loona sometime later, and we have three more children." Blitz explains.
"Make sense. Loona is clearly a Hellhound from Hell, and I've seen them sometimes," Charlie says.
"That's true. Loona told me that she used to live in a place called Hell before she ended up in Thaumarata," Blitz says.
"Yeah," Loona says, "And, I think this place is it."
"Are you sure?" Aurora asks.
"I believe so. Then again, I was only five when mom and dad found me in the Starlight Forest all those years ago," Loona says.
"That's odd. An Imp and a Hellhound ended up in another world. It's something I've never heard of," Charlie says.
"Well, if it wasn't all the magic stuff. I would assumed you're all are fuckin crazy," Angel says.
Vaggie glares at Angel, "Watch your language, Angel! We have children here!"
"Whoops, sorry," Angel says, annoyed.
Then Angel asks, curiously, "Question, how come your kids look so different? I mean, Aurora looks like an angel and Keenan looks like an Imp, but has blue eyes and purple hair. And Tilla has both traits. She has horns and a tail, and wings. What's the deal with that?"
"Well, that's just how they are. Aurora got most of her mother's appearance, and has a little of my traits like her eye color. Keenan obviously has most of my traits, but has blue eyes and purple hair from his mother. Tilla is the only one with both our traits. It's very rare for children to have the traits of both parents from different species, but it does happen," Blitz explains.
"So basically, that would mean that your children are half angel and half Imp. But Aurora has more traits of an angel and Keenan an Imp," Charlie says.
"You got that right. I may be adopted, but I'm still Blitz's daughter and these kids are my brothers and sister," Loona says.
"That's true," Charlie says, "It's just a bit unusual. I mean sure there are hybrids between different species of demons, but your kids are unique. Most imps will have red eyes and yellow sclera, and white hair. Keenan doesn't," And Charlie smiles, "Of course, I really like it, it's unique."
Keenan smiles, showing his sharp yellow teeth.
"But still, seeing the news, I'm shocked to see that you can use magic like a master," Vaggie says.
"What do you mean?" Keenan asks, tilting his head in confusion.
"Well Keenan, in Hell, Imps like Blitz have close to no magical abilities. So it's very shocking to see and hear that father can use magic, and that he's a mage," Charlie says.
"And to hear the fact that you've all come from another world. A world that is full of demons, angels, and magical creatures and other life. It sounds completely different from Hell," Vaggie says.
"I think it sounds cool. It's like we got aliens from another planet or something," Angel says.
Blitz chuckles, "I don't know about us being aliens, but it does seem appropriate."
"But how did you even get in hell from this other planet?" Vaggie asks.
"That's the strange thing, it's because of this crystal I have on my chest," Blitz says.
"A crystal?" Angel questions.
"Yeah. I don't really know much about it. It was implanted on my chest as long as I can remember," Blitz says.
"But before that?" Vaggie asks.
"I know it sounds strange, but I actually have very, very few memories of my past," Blitz says.
"So then, you don't remember how you ended up in that other world?" Charlie asks.
"I'm sorry. I don't. My adopted mother found me wandering in the snow as a child, and suffered injuries in the process," Blitz says.
He then smiles, "But I've learned how to deal with it."
"Well don't worry Blitz, Vaggie and I can help you and your family in this unexpected situation," Charlie says.
"Thank you Charlie, I really appreciate it," Blitz says.
"And Vaggie and I can help you get a job in the hotel and help make sure to provide your family room and board, and also teach you about the kind of environment Hell is," Charlie says.
"Thank you," Blitz, Loona, Aurora, and Keenan reply.
Sometime later, the limo arrives at the hotel as it comes to a stop.
Charlie is the first to climb out, followed by Vaggie. Angel Dust then climbs out of the limo. Blitz walks out with Tilla in his arms as the baby wakes up. Then Aurora and Keenan climb out to see the hotel.
"Here we are! Welcome to the Happy Hotel!" Charlie says.
The Jonas family look up to see the hotel. It's a rather big hotel.
The Happy Hotel is tall, elaborate amalgamation of arched windows and turrets, one of which seems to be broken. It appears to be at least seven stories tall, with at least five of which being guest floors. Remnants of an airship, an ocean liner, a sailing ship and a carousel litter both sides and appear to have been incorporated into the structure of the building itself; there is also a train with some tracks looping the first and second floor exterior. Located on the top right of the building is a small radio broadcasting room.
The entrance has a tented cover with a booth in the center reminiscent of a circus or theater ticket booth. On either side of the booth are a set of double doors that have stained glass, and they depicted an apple on each one.
"The hotel is really big," Keenan says, amazed.
"True, but it looks kind of old," Aurora says.
"I know, it looks rather rundown, but we did our best to keep it in good condition," Charlie says. "Now come on, let's get you inside and help get you settled, and to help with that ankle of yours."
Vaggie opens the hotel room, allowing everyone to walk inside.
The hotel's interior is shown to be in a state of disrepair, with wooden boards covering shattered windows, signs warning of asbestos, bloodied tools left lying around, and paintings are shown hanging off the walls. Much of the furniture in the lobby are strewn around haphazardly or remain boxed up in several large wooden crates. Despite the shabby and poor condition of the hotel, the overall theme of the building remains ornate and regal, with stained glass windows, lavish furniture, and generous usage of gold. Like the rest of Hell, the hotel has a largely red color scheme. There are many apple, snake and circus motifs throughout the hotel's interior, Eyes are also a recurring theme throughout the building, appearing on the frame of almost every single painting and several vases and jars.
Vaggie groans and sits down on the couch. Charlie lets out a sigh, knowing that this day hasn't gone very well. It's clear that Charlie and Vaggie had a very long and tiring day. Loona, Aurora, and Keenan sit on a different couch and look tired from the day they have. Sophie walks up and sits on the couch as well. She pats on the couch, circles around a bit before sitting down to watch everyone sit and relax.
Angel Dust walks to the fridge and opens it to take a box of posies. There isn't too much food in the fridge, but there's at least a few popsie.
Angel begins to eat one of them, "It's probably a good idea to get some actual food in this place. Y'know, to feed all the wayward souls ya got in here."
He laughs, but becomes nervous to see Charlie having a frown on her face as she walks to the front desk. He shrugs and walks away to sit down next to the kids.
He presents the popsie, "Here kids, it's not much, but it should help you cool off."
"Thank you," Aurora and Keenan say and take the popsicle.
"Thanks," Loona says.
Blitz takes the other one and helps hold it for Tilla as she licks and sucks on it.
Charlie sadly turns to the door and decides to head outside. She then walks outside and closes the door. Once outside, Charlie takes out her phone and presses the button that has the word 'Mom' on it. Sadly, she hears the voice mail tone.
Charlie says, "Hey Mom. Um, I know I keep calling, and you must be busy. Really busy. But um, the interview didn't go well and..." She then sits down, "I don't know if I'm going to make a difference." She rubs her eyes, "I don't know what I'm doing. I could really use some advice, Mom." She then sadly says, "I think Dad was right about me." Charlie then stands up, "A-anyway, I'll stop talking before this gets long. Love you! Bye." She then presses the button on the phone and hangs up. She then walks inside the hotel and closes the door. She leans her head back and shuts her eyes in sadness.
Blitz walks to Charlie and asks, "Are you okay?"
"Not really. I had a long and tiring day. The interview didn't go so well and I'm not sure what to do about the hotel," Charlie says, feeling stressed.
"It's okay. I'm sure things will get better. Sure it may have gotten off to a rocky start, but I'm sure you'll get the hotel working somehow," Blitz says.
Charlie smiles, "Thanks Blitz."
She then stands up, "Now that's out of the way. I think now will be a good time to give you an interview and see what kind of job we can give you. We also need to get you, your daughter and the children your room. And then well, I do like to hear more stories about your life in this other world. That is, if you don't mind."
"I don't mind at all," Blitz says.
"Great," Charlie happily says.
Suddenly, the group hears a knock on the door. They hear the knock coming from the door as they wonder who it could be.
