Chapter Thirty-Seven - Trouble
I feel so unsure
As I take your hand
And lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies
Something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen
And all its sad goodbyes
I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool

Alice downed the drink before looking up at Zach once more. "So long story short it's best if you and Cliff stay at the bunker for now. We're going to move the kids and majority of the Autobot and human couples there. Optimus and I have to stay behind so dad's taking Russell." She rubbed her head.
"I'm sorry to hear that Alice. But honestly sweety, you knew the government wouldn't approve." She sighed, dropping her head to the bar.
"I know. And it's my fault." Tears slipped from her eyes. "I don't want Russell to grow up away from us. Or any of the bots from their sparklings." She said.
"Hey, it's not going to happen. Sunny and Sides will help fight." Rachel said, rubbing Alice's back between her shoulder blades. "I'll help fight. I don't want to see my kid grow up without their fathers either." Alice looked confused for a minute before it clicked.
"Rachel, you're-?" Rachel nodded and Alice hugged her carefully. "That's great news!! Do Prowl and Jazz know?" She shook her head.
"Not yet. I'm worried what they'll do to Sunny and Sides when they do learn." She admitted.
"I'm sure they'll be ecstatic!!" She grinned before glancing to her phone. She answered it quickly. "Hello? Yes. Yes I understand. Look, I take full- Yes, I take full responsibility. He what?!" She sighed and ended the call.
"What was that about?"
"Hijack's in jail. Apparently Mearing found the fake badges. Knew she'd snoop around. Dammit!" Alice grabbed her purse and headed for the door.
"Alice wait, you're not okay to drive." Rachel walked up to her.
"I'll take Sides and then I'm not driving. Okay?" She said.
"No, I think I'll drive you there. Just to be safe." Alice sighed and nodded.
"Yeah, that might be best." She followed Rachel, planning to delve into her personal stash of drinks the second she got home. Especially the Jack Daniels.

Metallicar found Carly sitting at a bar, a smirk on her lips as she watched the femme's holoform walk over. "This stool taken?" She asked.
"No, go right on ahead." She smiled sweetly, Metallicar ordering a drink before turning to Carly.
"So, Carly right?" She looked a bit confused. "Sam's girlfriend is my best friend." She explained.
"Yes. The girlfriend. The one who definitely does not know what she's got." Carly said as Metallicar grabbed her drink, bringing it to her lips.
"Oh believe me Mikeala knows exactly what she's got and she takes very good care of Sam." Metallicar then thought for a second. "You know what I mean." She set her empty glass down and Carly held up two fingers, waving them slightly. The bartender nodded and went to get their drinks.
"Yes. I know what you mean but she treats him like a rug." Metallicar arched one graceful brow, setting an elbow on the bar.
"She treats him a lot better than that. I lived with them for a couple months while on vacation. Sam and her went better together than frosting on cake." She turned, grabbing the second shot and bringing it up.
"Like you're the expert." She brought the glass back down and glared at her.
"As a matter of fact, I do know enough about being used and then tossed aside like I was nothing!" Carly recoiled. "So you stay away from Sam or so help me..."
"Ma'am. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Metallicar looked to the bartender.
"Fine. And by the way. Next time you put cyanide in someone's drink, I'll kick your ass." She turned and left, leaving the two bewildered. Carly suddenly smirked.
"Well, well. Looks like the boss was right. These robots are something else." With that she returned to her drink, downing not only hers but Metallicar's as well. She grinned in wicked delight as the bartender smirked.
"Indeed they are."

The halls of the Nemesis were silent as it came to rest on the ground, Lillith in the engine room. She had her arms crossed and was scowling at the broken and torn wires. She heard pedesteps and didn't even bother to look behind her.
"I'll bet it was Nexus and Shockwave's pet." She said. "Same with the demon bodies scattered through the halls." Sure enough, Megatron knelt beside her.
"I do not doubt that, my demon." Lillith hummed, leaning back against his pede. A chuckle left Megatron and he scooped her up, placing her on his shoulder.
"Hey, unrelated note, have you heard from Sierra lately?" He shook his helm.
"Not since before their move. It is strange. The last communication she was insisting on seeing me soon. In person. I have not been able to contact her since." Lillith looked up at him.
"Have you tried Soundwave?" He fell silent and she chuckled. "Where would you be without me?"
"Fairly sane." He teased before looking towards her. She laughed and stood, placing a chaste kiss to his lower lip.
"You know you love me." A rumble began deep in her throat. And for a moment, Lillith forgot all about the remaining two seals she had to break. It was only her and him. Megatron seemed to sense it too because in the next moment he had detoured, heading away from all the others and focusing on a leisurely stroll through the ship.
Repairs could wait.

Soundwave walked through the base, Sakura fast asleep in his servo. It was fairly silent, unusually so actually. He glanced around and kept walking, ignoring the few humans on the catwalks around him.
"Hey, you!" He paused and turned, looking to a human woman. "What the hell is that?" She snapped, gesturing to Sakura. He remained silent, the woman growing more and more angered. "What? You don't talk or something?!"
"Woah, woah, woah." Lennox ran up, watching Mearing. "Do not piss him off."
"Why not? Aren't Autobots sworn to protect humans?" She asked in a snide tone.
"Autobots - sworn - protect humans." Soundwave repeated. Lennox looked to him.
"Don't you dare." He said before turning back to Mearing. "And please, leave him be. Him and his mate, you really don't want to piss those two off."
"Oh? And who would his 'mate' be?" She asked.
"Try behind you." She turned to see Sierra and rolled her eyes.
"Another human sleeping with a bot? What is with you? Do you all have some weird fetish?" Sierra glared at her and snapped out, grabbing her around the neck and holding a double-edged sword to her neck.
"How about you don't comment and just back the frag off?" She growled, her eyes black with a burning ruby center.
"Let me go!" She choked.
"Not until you agree to back off my mate and sparkling. As well as my friends." She was ready to agree when she saw a faint purple mark behind her ear.
"So you let Decepticons on base now too?"
"Ex." Sierra grinned darkly, a flame-less heat licking at Mearing's sides.
"Sierra: Desist!" She looked to Soundwave, her grip loosening. She finally dropped Mearing, the sword disappearing.
"You'd better be glad my brother doesn't know what you're doing. Or your aft would regret ever crossing us." Mearing looked shocked as Sierra vanished into thin air, Soundwave walking calmly away while cradling Sakura close to his chest.
"What the hell is going on here?!"

Juliet sat beside Jason, her head on his shoulder as they watched the movie, Captain America, closely. People around them seemed just as invested. Jenny and Gabriel even sat among them. Though Jenny periodically whispered to Gabriel, trying to understand what she didn't know.
"Why don't you use the internet?" Jason whispered over his shoulder. Jenny shrugged at this.
"I enjoy asking Gabe questions."
"And I enjoy answering them." Gabriel said, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "Besides, it's not like she's hurting anyone. Least of all the Demon King." Jenny suddenly stiffened.
"Jenny?" Juliet frowned. "Are you alright?" She blinked and looked from her to Jason.
"I... I must..." Her wings flicked under her new grey hoodie. "Follow danni's orders. I must..."
"Just one more little thing. That's all I ask honey. And you won't even remember a thing. Just like last time." Nexus smirked as Jenny nodded. "I need you to take out a very high profile target. I need you to..."
"Kill Jason." She suddenly lunged, her eyes burning a vibrant red as she grabbed him, wings tearing through the fabric. Jason caught her as people began to scream and flee. Juliet quickly attempted to pull her off, recoiling as her feathers cut her arm.
"Jenny!" Gabriel yelled. Jenny didn't notice, too bust trying to slit Jason's throat with razor sharp feathers. "Juliet! Help me bind her wings." They both leapt, pinning Jenny down and struggling to pull her wings back. She threw them aside with ease, turning to glare at Gabriel.
"Stop!" She yelled, hand out. He froze in his tracks, eyes locked with hers.
"Jason run!" Juliet yelled, tackling her sister. Jason stood and drew his sword as Juliet was launched aside. Jenny turned and lunged at him as he moved to toss the blade aside so that he wouldn't hurt her.
The sound of metal slicing through skin echoed through the room and Jenny froze. The other two fell silent and watched as blood dripped to the floor.
"Jenny!" Gabriel lunged as Jason stared in shock.
"I... I didn't... She..." He dropped the blade and moved forwards. Gabriel held Jenny close and backed away, glaring at Jason.
"You stay away from her!" He snapped, lifting the woman into his arms. He vanished and Juliet looked to a still stunned Jason.
"Oh Jason." She sighed. "What have you done?"

Zach leaned back in Cliffjumper's passenger seat, a pleased smile across his face. He was watching the road as they drove through Texas, his gaze lazily drifting along. The road had multiple abandoned houses, each beautiful in their own way.
"Zach?" He hummed, looking to Cliffjumper. "We're almost there." The mech's holoform said. Zach sat up and stretched, sighing as he settled back into the seat. They rode in silence for a while until finally the house came into view.
It, like the rest, was abandoned. Though this was was a little better kept and looked less likely to fall over at any second. Zach frowned and sat up more, looking closely at the windows. A few curtains moved. And even though several had shattered glass there was no way the curtains could move. Not with no wind.
"Someone is in there." Zach said as Cliffjumper pulled up to a stop. He nodded and climbed out as Zach did, cleverly hidden knives where they could easily reach them. They walked up and pushed open the broken door.
"Hello?" Silence met their ears and they moved in, looking around. Zach stopped as he heard gentle cries from upstairs. He looked to Cliffjumper and gestured for him to watch his back. The mech smirked and Zach rolled his eyes, moving up the stairs with a silence only a demon could manage.
He reached over his shoulder, drawing the machete and walking up to the door. Cliffjumper took the other side and Zach took a deep breath. He turned quickly, kicking open the door and seeing a figure covered in blood. Tear stains cut through the grime. It took Zach a moment to realize the sobs were coming from it. He put the blade away and walked over, kneeling by the figure.
"Hello there." He spoke lightly, startling the form. He could tell it was a boy, clearly no more than three or four. He sniffled and watched Zach with large, teary brown eyes. "Are you okay little one?" He shook his head.
"I'm scared." He whispered. Zach scooped him up and cradled him gently in his arms. He didn't care about the blood soaking into his shirt.
"It's okay. We're not going to hurt you." He promised. The boy looked up at him and then hid against his shirt, tears flowing freely. Zach held him close and looked up at Cliffjumper. "He stays with us." Cliffjumper knelt and nodded.
"Okay. Once we take care of the vamp we'll take him back to the bunker with us." He looked down at the boy and looked around finding an old torn towel and using it to wipe the remaining blood from the boy's figure. Once most of it was gone they found he had light brown hair, nearly blonde in color. He looked up at him, still hugging Zach, who's t-shirt was now covered in blood.
"Here. It's totaled." Zach pulled it free, showing a mostly clean tank top underneath. The Autobot took it and finished cleaning up the boy's face.
"There you are little one." Zach stood, holding the child. "So what is your name?"
"I'm Theo." He spoke gently, still shy. "Are you here to save us from the bad man?" Zach and Cliffjumper looked to each other and spoke together.
"Us?"

Gabriel stopped in a warehouse, kneeling and gently laying Jenny on the floor. "Come on Jen, come on." He whispered, gently placing his hand to her side. "You're going to be okay. I promise." He rest his forehead against hers and sat there in silence, healing her.
"Well now, what do we have here?" Gabriel pulled Jenny closer and looked around.
"Who's there?" He demanded.
"Gabe?" He turned his attention to Jenny as she winced in pain. "What happened?"
"You went a bit nutty darling." He said, glancing around occasionally. When he was satisfied that he hadn't actually heard anyone else he focused on Jenny. "You attacked Jason." Jenny frowned and looked up at him.
"What?" He sighed and gently touched her forehead, frowning as he found a block. He worked around it, picking at it until finally it fell. And what he found horrified him. Jenny standing over the bodies of demons, her wings dripping with blood. Her eyes were red and emotionless. Nexus suddenly appeared while wearing a grin.
"Good job baby." Jenny looked up.
"Are you proud of me yet danni?" She asked.
"Almost my little spark. Now. You're going to do something for me. You're not going to remember a word of this. I need you to take these coordinates and go meet the Autobots. Befriend them, gain their trust. And when I give the order." Nexus grinned. "When I give the order you start by killing Jason. And then you move on to that archangel. And you just keep going. But leave me the Winchester brats. They get to pay for what their father did to me."
Gabriel tore away with that, seeing tears on Jenny's cheeks. "D-did I... Did I really hurt those demons?" Gabriel looked to her with sad eyes.
"It wasn't your choice love." She sobbed and hung onto his shirt.
"Oh Gabe. What am I going to do now? I can't go back. She'll just make me kill Jason." Now Gabriel heard footsteps and held Jenny closer.
"It's not your fault." He told her, looking around. "It was Nexus'." The footsteps stopped.
"You know Nexus too then?" Gabriel turned.
"Who are you?" He walked into sight, green eyes focused on him.
"Simple. I am Aeron. And I am the son of Nexus." He stopped over them. "Who are you and what are you doing in my warehouse?"
"I am the archangel Gabriel. And this is Jenny. We're not looking for any trouble but if you really are Nexus' son then-"
"If you're asking me to return to her that'll never happen. I'd rather kill her." Jenny looked up at him and he knelt. "You look familiar."
"My name is Jenny." She looked to Gabriel and he nodded. "And I am a child of Nexus as well." Aeron looked to her and then stood, turning.
"Then you may stay, for as long as you need." He paused. "And if you turn against me you'll regret it."
With that he vanished into the shadows, leaving Gabriel and Jenny in silence.
