Chapter Four - Just Another Day

Hey Jude, don't be afraid

You were made to go out and get her

The minute you let her under your skin

Then you begin to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain

Don't carry the world upon your shoulders

For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool

By making his world a little colder

Hey Jude - The Beetles

(A.N.: Thirteen hours (give or take a little bit) on a road trip with my grandparents, my dad, my little sister and a psychotic kitten. That should explain why I already have this chapter posted. lol {C.M.})

The sun rose high over the ocean base as Metallicar leaned back on a sleek black surfboard, her helm tilted back as water brushed over her legs. Dean had been confused when she had pulled her jacket free, magnetic locks protesting it as she set the metal garment on the sand. Dean was sitting in a chair, having been barely coaxed into a set of swimming trunks. However, the humidity helped with that.

Metallicar looked back, Seeing Optimus and Alice sitting on boards not far from her. Beside them was Ironhide, much to the amusement of everyone watching. Even Chromia, who he had convinced to join him on the board.

"Hey look!" Alice called, standing. She wore a bikini that was purple with black flames. "There's one!" She pointed to a large wave ahead of them. Metallicar grinned and paddled out, standing a moment later as the wave began to lift her board. She balanced carefully and crouched a little as the wave curled around her.

She shot through the other end, standing and grinning triumphantly as she did so. "Whoo-hoo!" She laughed, looking over as her sparklings began laughing. The sunlight shone down on them, showing that Silver was a deep blue, as opposed to the black coloration they originally thought. Bobby, who was sitting and watching the twins, chuckled as well.

He had been the only one they couldn't convince to join in their water activities. Pit, even Soundwave was making a sandcastle with Sierra. Albeit a giant one. His young mate laughed as she watched him defend the half-built castle from the waves. Eventually Sierra decided to take pity on his fruitless efforts. She dug out a large trench, Soundwave gladly taking the excess sand as she then turned it to drain further down the beach. The next wave, which Alice had claimed, hit the trench and followed the path, draining away and slowly making it's way back towards the ocean.

Everyone turned as the next wave, and largest they had seen all day, began to approach. Optimus hesitantly took it, having been knocked off his board several times already that day. Alice watched closely the second he disappeared into the water, only to let out a loud cheer as he emerged from the other side. Juliet laughed while watching them, enjoying the sun only by way of the necklace she wore. Jason sat behind her, chuckling as Sierra buried a sleeping Crowley in the sand.

Though it wasn't long after that Sierra joined Soundwave once more, building up the walls and detailing them with a stick she had found. She glanced to Drift about halfway through, who had been watching the water with a calm expression all day. He didn't notice Crosshairs creeping up behind him until he was lifted and thrown into the water.

"Crosshairs!" He yelled in annoyance, shocked that the mech had found a deep enough spot to throw him in.

"Oh I'm sorreh. Ya musta slipped." He grinned, servos on his hips. Drift smirked and allowed himself to sink, his vents changing to cycle the water, extracting the air from it. A few moments later Crosshairs leapt in, grabbed his arm and hauled him up. "Are ya insane mech?!" He asked, worry plain in his optics.

"Perhaps a little bit." He responded before shoving Crosshairs against the beach and kissing him quickly. He then stood and took off, running past Blaze as he pulled Barricade, Alexis and Blitzwing over. The last of which quickly transformed into a jet, flying high above the water. He transformed and grinned, Random being the dominant persona.

"Cannonball!" He cackled like mad as he curled into a ball, slamming into the water. The resulting wave threw everyone from their boards and nearly reached Soundwave's sand castle. Despite the trench. It was silent for a few long moments until everyone broke out laughing. Sunstreaker smirked from up the beach, where he was painting the scene. Sideswipe was fast asleep behind him while Ratchet grumbled about sand.

And that evening, as the sun finally began to set, lovers sat with one another, families huddled together and friends shared a quiet moment, simply content to watch the sun vanish beneath the crystal waters.

Metallicar carried Dean and the twins in her servo, smiling as all of them slept. Rather than taking the twins to their room, she headed straight to her room. She set them on a small blanket that had been left out from the twins playing in the room. Metallicar transformed, her seats laying down as she gently woke Dean.

"Sweetspark? Do ya mind helping me?" He nodded. "All I need ya to do is stand and walk with me." She scooped up the twins before leading Dean to her alt. She quickly piled a bunch of pillows towards the top before climbing in carefully. Dean followed, taking Mary as he lay down. She settled in beside him, Metallicar putting Silver beside her as she grabbed two blankets. The smaller one covered the twins while the larger one draped across Metallicar and Dean. He smiled and reached across the twins, pulling her as close as he could without disrupting them.

"Goodnight, angelspark." She smiled and nestled into the bed.

"Goodnight, my hunter."

-

Dean was awoken in the middle of the night by Mary accidentally stirring the creator bond. She looked as if she had been up for some time, merely sitting there. "Hey sparklet. Bad dream?" She looked to him and nodded, sniffling. "Come here." He picked her up and rolled on his back, settling her on his chest. Curiosity filled her as he began humming something.

"Hmm. Dean?" Metallicar muttered in her sleep. Dean smiled, his gaze still on Mary. He glanced around before singing lightly.

"Hey Jude, don't make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better. Remember to let her into your heart. Then you can start to make it better." He continued to sing, feeling Mary gently beginning to doze off. He kept singing long after she fell asleep, only stopping when he himself felt tired. He turned his head a bit to see Metallicar smiling.

"Only out sparklings would fall asleep to classic rock." She teased.

"Hey, it worked on Sammy." He grinned. She smiled and laughed lightly, leaning carefully over Silver and kissing Dean lightly before laying back down beside her son. "Sleep Meta." She slowly dozed off, Dean joining her moments later.

-

Alice curled up in Optimus lap as she watched Phantom Of The Opera with him. Jazz and Prowl sat to one side as Sierra and Soundwave lounged to the other. Crosshairs and Drift had already gone off to bed, Sam and Arcee heading their own way shortly after.

"Alice. You are the only one who has seen this." She looked up at Optimus, who appeared confused. "Why does Miss Daae not simply tell him that she is in love with Raoul?"

"Because the Phantom has killed before, and she fears he will again. So she insists they keep the engagement a secret." Optimus frowned.

"I do not understand. Why is he so cruel?" She lowered her popcorn back to the bowl and sighed.

"Because the world was cruel to him."

"My spark, do you prefer the Phantom?" She shrugged.

"I did. Once. But now, I don't like either one." His face twisted in confusion as she sat up as high as she could, barely able to kiss him. Though she was upside down in it. He understood then, kissing back before chuckling against her lips. Their attention returned to the movie, Alice falling asleep shortly before the Phantom kidnapped Christine. He looked down at her, smiling softly as the movie came to a close.

-

The next morning found everyone in the Rec Room, going about their daily business, with the exception of Sierra and Soundwave. No one even asked, knowing exactly why the two were missing.

Dean was sitting with Mary, cradling her as she drank from the bottle he held. Every time someone walked past, her eyes would track them, stance changing with each one. He could already tell she trusted almost all bots on base, the only two she didn't being the Chevy Twins.

A few moments later Metallicar walked in, everyone falling silent as they saw Silver still fast asleep in her arms. She sat beside Dean, smiling at Mary. She looked over to her brother and then curiously looked up at her mother. She trilled, making Metallicar smile.

"Let your brother sleep Mary." She nodded and Metallicar looked to Dean. "By the way. Quick thinking with Hey Jude." He shrugged.

"Mom used to sing it to me so I used to play it for Sammy."

"And now you sing it for your babies." He felt a swell of pride, accidentally letting it leak through to Metallicar and the sparklings. Mary grinned, looking up at Dean. She sent the same feeling back at him. Pride at being his daughter and pleased that she made him proud. Metallicar chuckled, feeling Silver stir and roll over, barely avoiding falling out of her arms. "Silver." He opened one eye and yawned, the dazzling mixture of colors shining brightly as the other opened.

"Good morning baby boy." Dean greeted. He smiled, quick to turn back over and accept the bottle Ratchet set down. Metalllicar held it for him as Mary finished hers, Dean passing the empty container to the medic.

"So how are they doing today?" He asked.

"They're doing great." Metallicar smiled. "Last night's sleeping arrangements worked better than them sleeping in their room."

"Where did they sleep?"

"In my alt between Dean and I." Ratchet chuckled.

"Well I'm glad they enjoyed it."

"Well after a long day of playing hard we were to tired to take them the extra ten feet." She joked.

"I don't blame you. They are such sweet little ones." He smiled. Mary looked to him and reached out. Dean handed her to the medic, who took her gladly. Metallicar knew he ran a scan over her, being the protective medic he was. His scans came back clear, making him smile.. "Hello youngling." She watched him, smiling a bit.

"Hey Ratch?" He turned, glancing to Alice as she walked into sight.

"Yes Alice?" He sat upright and she barely managed to arch an eyebrow.

"Two things. One, why are you all acting like that? It's annoying. And two, have you seen Optimus?" He chuckled.

"To answer your first question. You are the Prime's mate. And Optimus is important to us all. We will defend you with out lives." She frowned as his gaze fell to his feet. "We have already failed once and we refuse to again."

"Also, if anything were to happen to Optimus, we would all turn to ya to guide us." Metallicar added. "Ya'd be in charge of the Autobots."

"Wow. That's.... That's a lot of responsibility, considering everything." Alice muttered.

"And to answer your second question, last I saw Optimus he was speaking with Sam."

"Witwicky?" She asked.

"No. Winchester." Alice, Metallicar and Dean all sent him shocked looks. "He has discovered why the Matrix did not trust him and is explaining to him now."

"Why?" Dean asked.

"Something about demon blood?"

"Slag." Metallicar and Dean chorused.

-

Optimus watched Sam as he smiled a bit. "Look Op. She said I don't even have to come in contact with another bot anymore. She's using me as a vessel to aid you guys."

"So we do not even require-"

"Nope. She's doing what she used to do before the war." Optimus smiled and nodded.

"Thank you Sam." He bowed his head a bit and Sam shrugged.

"What are friends for?" He smirked. "If not to help others with their lives." Optimus chuckled.

"I only ask you not to tell Alice. She barely even confided in me." Sam nodded.

"Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me."

The Next Day

-

Metallicar looked up as the rain pelted against the doors, drowning out most other sounds. However, it was proving effective to get the sparklings to sleep. Sierra curled against Soundwave's side, barely awake. However, Soundwave wasn't ready to sleep yet because of the work he had to complete. So the recently bonded pair were content to simply stick together. Dean chuckled at the sight and lightly elbowed Metallicar's leg.

"Hey Baby, three days into us being bonded. Remember that?" Blue flamed in her cheeks as she scowled down at Dean. She then decided to turn the tables.

"Which point? Where I had found the rope or where ya couldn't keep quiet?" It was his turn to blush as he grinned.

"No. Where you kept repeating my name over and over." Metallicar went to say something but noticed Optimus trying very hard not to laugh. Alice was on his shoulder, biting her lip.

"Well I bet we weren't as bad as uncle Optimus and Alice. Could hardly stay out of bed even before they were bonded." Both blushed as they returned to their work, Alice studying a book on politics. She had decided to try and go for Galloway's job, seeing as he wanted a different one. He had warmed up to the Autobots after several of them had risked their lives for him. So he decided to stick close. Though not in the position he had before. He was currently in charge of supplies manifests.

As though summoned by Metallicar's thoughts he walked in, two boxes behind his back. "Ah, Metallicar and Dean. Just the two I was looking for." She knelt, looking to the scrawny man.

"Something ya need Galloway?" He held out the boxes and smiled.

"These are for Mary and Silver. A little something I saw and thought they'd like." Metallicar took the box for Silver while Dean grabbed Mary's. They looked them over curiously. "Well go on, open them." Metallicar chuckled at the man's enthusiasm and opened the box, blinking in surprise as she pulled out a plush teddy bear nearly twice the size of the sparklings. Dean held the other, one wearing a black bow and the other wearing a deep blue one.

"Galloway. These are perfect." Dean grinned, adjusting the black bow on his daughter's bear. Metallicar set Silver's back in the box and smiled.

"Thank ya so much Galloway. They're gonna love them." He waved his hand dismissively.

"It's nothing. Like I said. I saw them and thought of the twins. Though it took a little longer to get the bows because they originally only came in pink and sky blue." Metallicar looked to the bear once more.

"Well I'm glad ya took the extra time. They are likely never gonna let them go." Galloway smiled and nodded before turning.

"I'll see you guys later." He spoke before vanishing around the corner.

"He's so much nicer since that bug up his ass died." Metallicar bit back a laugh.

"Be nice love. He's changed for the better." Dean nodded, glancing up as three loud knocks echoed through the room. Metallicar looked confused as she stood, walking to the door. She pulled it open and looked around before her gaze was drawn downwards. The woman couldn't have been more that twenty-one years of age. She had the most beautiful raven black hair, though it was drenched with the rain. Startling green eyes shone from beneath long bangs as she shivered and sneezed. Metallicar quickly picked her up, bringing her into the warmth of the base.

"Baby?" She looked to Dean and then back to the woman.

"Are ya alright?" She nodded and sneezed once more.

"I- I got these coordinates f-from the Nemesis databanks and headed straight here. P-p-please. You have to help me!" Metallicar frowned as she noticed blood staining her clothing.

"Did the Decepticons capture ya?" She shook her head.

"N-not exactly. Ah-choo!" She huddled closer to Metallicar's warmth and took a deep breath. "My name is Jenny.... And I'm the creation of Nexus and Shockwave."

-

Juliet groaned as she looked to her reflection, admitting to herself that she looked like hell. She wrapped her arm around herself, brushing the wound she had sustained from the werewolf hunt. She screamed in pain before a blinding white overtook her. She collapsed to the floor, only staying aware long enough to see a panicked Jason appear and scoop her up. After that her world went black.
