Chapter Five - Jenny and Juliet
I can't decide which one of us will leave here alive
Your fingers breaking as I place them over mine
The only thing I need is time
To change your mind, I said
When all that you know
Has fallen behind you
It's not the past that you're afraid to see
There's nobody here and no one to find you
Tonight is forever
Midnight - The Birthday Massacre
(A.N.: I have no excuse for it taking this short of time. Also, ginger300 is partially to blame for what happened to Jules. (And the early update too. ^.^) She and I thought it'd be fun to be evil to her character. After all, the SPN writers do it all the time... Yeah, I'm leaving now. Enjoy! {C.M.})
Jason paced outside of the Med Bay doors, running a hand through his hair. Sierra wasn't faring much better but Soundwave helped her through their bond. After a few moments she couldn't take it. She leapt up and ran over, hugging Jason tightly and making him still. He sighed and hugged her back, feeling weak. Though quickly he growled at himself. He was the king of hell, he shouldn't feel weak!
"It's okay big brother." Sierra whispered. "She'll be fine. And you're not weak."
"Why would you say that? Of course I'm not!" He defended before calming as she winced.
"I know you Jason. You think you're weak for feeling for Juliet." She sighed. "Thinking you're weak for falling in love is like saying Juliet is weak for getting bitten by that vamp." He stilled in his tracks, looking down at her.
"Sierra...."
"I know, I know. Dont let my mouth run off like that. I sound like an idiot."
"No. You don't. I was merely shocked. You made sense." She looked to him in offence.
"Aft." She pouted, crossing her arms. Jason chuckled and ruffled her hair. She shoved him off and chuckled. "See? Better already."
"You're right." He smiled. "And I don't say that often so savor it."
"Oh I intend to." She grinned. Soundwave smiled from where he sat, enjoying the humorous chat between them.
"And Soundwave?" He looked to Jason. "You hurt my sister and you will forever regret it."
"Soundwave: Could never hurt Sierra." She smiled as Jason nodded.
"Good. Because if you did I'd have to let Hades and Zeus kill you."
"Jason!" Sierra warned. "No threatening my mate." Jason only grinned.
-
"Alice! Got you a hunt!" She turned to see Bobby running towards her.
"Tomorrow Dad. I need sleep and Juliet's sick." He frowned and handed her the folder anyways.
"Just take it and look it over please?" He pleaded.
"Fine. And if it's serious enough I'll take Optimus tomorrow, alright?"
"Alright. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
-
Gabriel walked up to Metallicar, who was keeping guard over the door to one of the small hospital like rooms. "You do realize that keeping me out won't work, right?" She looked to him.
"On the contrary. We need an angel in there right now. And since Cas is busy..."
"Get the archangel in there." He sighed. "Fine. But why?"
"The girl is terrified and keeps going on and on about an angel named Rose." He looked up at her.
"She was the one that helped her?"
"What?" Gabriel sighed.
"Those damned 'Cons caught Rose about six months ago and managed to get holy oil and hold her there." He shook his head. "Bastards managed to cut a bit of her grace out. And then the torture began. Day after day, it never seemed to stop. And then, one day, she was free. The ring had broken and there was this girl standing there. Before Rose could thank her she was gone. And she never saw her again."
"Gabe, she's hurt. Bad. We just need ya to help her. Please?" She stepped aside. "She won't let anyone near her." He nodded.
"Yeah. I'll see what I can do." She let him into the room, where he found the girl curled up in a ball. She wore what appeared to be one of Sierra's outfits, even though the other woman was a little shorter than her. "Hey there." She gasped and spun.
"St-stay back!" She yelled.
"Easy. My name is Gabriel. Yours?"
"J-Jenny." Her name washed over him, making him want to walk over and pull her into an embrace. He never wanted to let her go. "Why are you here?" She asked.
"I'm an archangel sent here to help." The words escaped before he could fully process what he was saying. She looked pained.
"I don't want to cause the angels anymore pain." He walked up to her, sitting beside her on the bed and hugging her.
"You aren't causing us pain." She sobbed and he hugged her tighter.
"Yes I am! It's my fault Rose was hurt!" Gabriel looked down at her.
"Rose is fine now sweetheart." Jenny sniffled and looked up at him.
"R-really?" Her eyes were red from tears and he couldn't help but to smile reassuringly.
"Yeah, she's back home and telling everyone about the girl who saved her life." The girl smiled a little and Gabriel turned serious, which was rare for him.
"Are you alright?" She nodded.
"I'm fine." He saw through the lie and thought for a moment.
"Aren't you afraid?" Again she bottled up her feelings and shook her head. Gabriel thought for a moment before snapping his fingers. A ring, shaped like the wing of an angel, appeared in his hand, the surface pitch black. "Here. Wear this."
"Why?" He grinned.
"Consider it a welcome to the club present." She smiled and took it slipping it onto her left ring finger. Instantly the color began to change, settling on a deep brown. Confusion crossed her features and she looked to him. "It's a special ring."
"Thank you." She hugged him and he chuckled, returning it.
"Listen. If you ever need my help, just call my name."
"Gabriel." He smiled.
"Just like that. Or Gabe. Whichever works." She nodded and he knelt by the bed, looking up at her. "No matter what I'll help. Even if everyone else thinks it's small and insignificant. Even if it's a trivial thing such as you can find your right sock on your favorite pair."
"You'll be here." She giggled lightly, smiling.
"Even if I'm busy. I'll drop everything." He finished.
"You don't have to do that."
"No. But I want to."
"Thanks again, Gabe."
"You're welcome Jen."
-
Metallicar looked to the door as Gabriel came out, smiling a little. "How is she?"
"She's sleeping." He looked to the femme, who looked through the right before it closed.
"Gabe?" He hummed. "Did ya just give her a mood ring?"
"Shh." He put his finger to his lips. "It's a very special ring."
"You're special." She shooked her head.
"Oh I know." She cast a final glance to the door before turning.
"Well at least now we'll be able to tell how she's feeling."
"Where are you going?" She turned, taking a few strides backwards.
"To get some sleep. Mary and Silver refused to and kept Dean and I up." She turned forwards again and Gabriel laughed.
"Want me to watch the monsters?" He called after her.
"Yes, please!" This made him smirk as he went to get the twins.
-
Dean watched Metallicar as she crashed on the small bed, having mass-shifted the second she entered the room. He chuckled, glancing to her door wings and sitting up. "Baby?" She hummed. "Why do you always fold your door wings back when you go to sleep?" She tensed but relaxed, her engine purring as he began to gently massage her wings.
"Because I don't wanna sleep withou' protecting myself." She muttered into the pillow, making Dean frown.
"I'd think you'd feel safe on base." She sighed and sat up, capturing Dean's hand.
"Ya need to know something Dean. I didn't join the Autobots for a long time for a reason." She turned her back to him and he looked it over, seeing everything that he had before. Struts hissed as she moved slightly, wings shuddering as Dean's hand ran along the familiar frame. His fingers met with the stubborn rust that refused to go away. It ringed a hole in her back, showing wires that Dean knew were sensitive. Just visible beyond the wires was a thick line that Dean had seen many times, energon coursing through. He had managed to find out that it led directly to her spark.
"What is it Baby?" His fingers worked gently around the rust, bits of it flaking off in his hand.
"That." She whispered. "Even among all the rest, it is the gravest wound I bear." He frowned and hugged her, feeling her spark beat perfectly with his.
"Why haven't you patched it?" She frowned.
"Ratchet's servos are too large. He could not mend them without damaging my wings. Plus there are three transformation seams that run through there. Yes, metal can be cut but it's the same dilemma as before."
"What about if he mass-shifted?" She shook her head.
"He's tried before. Door wings like to move on their own. Especially if a bot is in stasis. Ratchet kept getting hit." Dean frowned. He had never payed attention to them. And for that he felt bad. "Only we and those we bond to can tell what they're going to do. But even that takes a lot of practice." Dean focused and felt a twitch in his back. A few seconds later the left door wing moved. Metallicar looked to him in surprise.
"Then let me patch it."
"With what? All of our metals are back on Cybertron and we don't exactly have a means to make Earth metals work. We have nothing to fix it with." Dean reached around and into the small interior subspace of her jacket and pulled free the cracked Autobot insignia. The metal on it's back matched almost perfectly to Metallicar's armor. He held it up, smirking as it slightly overlapped the borders.
"Yes. We do."
-
Jason sat beside the bed that held Juliet's comatose form. He had seen the wound. Knew what it was. But he refused to accept it. His hand grasped hers as he rest his forehead against her shoulder. Ratchet was running every test known to man and bot.
"Fragging son of glitch!" He yelled, slamming his servo down on the console. His human assistant squeaked and moved away quickly. "There's nothing!"
"R-Ratchet, m-maybe you could ask M-Mr. Singer?" The terrified woman asked. He looked to her, sighing when he noticed her fear.
"I'm sorry Casidy." He looked to the new girl, who had arrived only two days before. Ratchet had seen her skills and instantly taken her in. "I should have thought of that before losing my temper."
"It's fine." She smiled, though her voice was small. Ratchet left and Jason glared at Casidy.
"You." She paled.
"Please forgive me sir." She felt to her knees, hiding behind her clipboard. He appeared in front of her, ripping the board from her hands and grabbing her by the neck. He saw fear and the flash of fangs as Casidy ripped at his hand. "I didn't-" She was cut off as his grip tightened.
"I should just kill you here and now!" She whimpered, hearing the door open.
"Hey! Put her down!" Jason turned to see Jekyll and Hyde in the doorway.
"Why should I?!" Jekyll glared at him, stepping forwards.
"Because that's my little sister."
-
Sierra lay beside Soundwave, feeling him tug her small body to tuck in against his own. Even mass-shifted he towered over the five foot three woman, his own form seven foot. She smiled up at him and gave him a light kiss, enjoying the fact that he never wore the visor when they were alone. It was not only a pleasant sight, but it served to prove that he was hers and hers alone.
"Sierra: Staring again." She saw his lips curl into a smirk.
"I can't help it. You're drop dead handsome." He sat up and leaned over her, kissing her again.
"Sierra: Most beautiful thing Soundwave has ever seen." She blushed and he nuzzled her neck. "Soundwave: Luckiest mech online."
"And I'm the luckiest femme." She replied. He merely smiled and lay back down, Sierra laying her head on his chest. "Goodnight Sounds."
"Goodnight. Sierra: Sleep well." He whispered, feeling her already slipping off into sleep.
"You too Soun's." She muttered before her breath evened out. Soundwave smiled one final time before laying his head back and falling asleep.
-
Gabriel sat on his bed, groaning around the sucker in his mouth. He couldn't stand it. He stood and paced his room. Just as he was about to throw himself into television, literally mind you, he heard a faint whisper.
"Gabriel." Without a second's thought he shot off to go see Jenny.
